Oh ****! Now I have screwed up! Wiped out my system - Huawei P8 Questions & Answers

Hi.
I was trying to root my P8 and followed a guide to install twrp recovery and other stuff. I installed the wrong version of what I think was SuperSu and after that I got stuck at the logo when I started the phone. I went into twrp recovery mode and tried a few things there, which didn't work. Then I wiped out the system. That was dumb as ****. Now I can't do anything. When I start the phone, I only see the Huawei logo and "powered by android" at the bottom. I've been googling a little but can't find a solution.
Is there any way to fix this or am I screwed? I can't buy a new phone at the moment. :/

Install stock recovery with fastboot and then reinstall your firmware using the dload method.

How do I do that when nothing works?

Did you install twrp
Sent from my GRACE using Tapatalk

I did, but it seems I can't go into twrp mode anymore. I restarted my phone after I was stupid enough to wipe the system. I just got to the Huawei eRecovery EMUI thing, but when i try to download new version and recovery it fails to get package info from network.

Enter bootloader mode (power + volume down)
Connect to pc
Use adb/fastboot (follow one of the thousands guides on Internet) and flash the twrp recovery.
Then with adb copy a rom into the phone and flash it via twrp

I finally made it.
Most of those thousands of guides I found just said about the same thing as erayrafet: "Install stock recovery with fastboot and then reinstall your firmware using the dload method."
I tried that, I pressed power + volume down and all the other things people said, but nothing happened. . It did not work, and could not reach bootloader mode. Have been trying to make it work since yesterday, and now I finally succeeded. I sat for about 15 minutes and just pressed power + volume down. The phone just restarted over and over, somtimes I got to the Huawei eRecovery EMUI thing, but after about 15 minutes I finally got into bootloader mode.
So it's solved now after I found another guide.
Thanks for trying to help. :good:

Huawei P8 Lite ALE-L21 stuck in black recovery bootloop

Hey there.
I've really f*cked up the Huawei P8 Lite of a friend, when trying to root it with CWM and Supersu package.
He once tried it himself, but that ended up with a new paperweight and he got a new one from the seller.
The old one could boot to TWRP, but ended up with a bootloop when trying to install supersu.
The new one can't even get into TWRP or CWM! Yes, both devices were OEM-Unlocked.
The new one shows a blank screen right after booting to recovery, but i was able to get to system and fastboot.
But after installing CWM (because TWRP didn't work either) it just goes blank after oem logo and adb tells me it is in recovery mode!
Code:
C:\Windowws\System32>adb devices
List of devices attached
W3D7N------------- recovery
So every time i try to power the phone on, it boots straight to recovery and same outcome on adb.
It is possible to reboot it with adb in recovery but it does nothing. Just goes to recovery.
Cant get into fastboot either. Adb on system not possible and key combination (tried VolUp+PWR VolDown+PWR and VolUp+VolDown+PWR).
I don't know..
Have i made a second brick? Am I screwed?
Because i don't know if the seller will give my friend a new one AGAIN...
Have i f*cked up?
Please Help!
UPDATE:
I played a bit around with the adb/recovery and i rebooted it somehow into a mysterious mode...
It showed up as "Red is the Red" in chinese symbols in the device manager..
That is quite mysterious and a lil bit scary... I wasnt able to do anything, tried drivers but no response in fastboot/adb
UPDATE II:
THANK GOD!!!
I somehow got it right with adb reboot bootloader!
You don't know how glad i am
So i would say: SOLVED!
How did you get it back to fastboot?

Help twrp

I have a Huawei P9 Lite and i have installed twrp and android 7.0 on it. Now I want to install Google assistant, but when i try to boot in twrp recovery (volume down + power b) it shows me the screen where it says ''Installing update'' and then freezes at 5 % so i have to hold my power button to power off the phone.
If I dont try to run in the twrp, phone works just fine.
I apologize for my bad english.
Hi there,
I will move your thread in the correct forum dedicated to Huawei P9 Lite for more relevant answers.
Good luck
Bump..
Just to state that I am in the same boat here; as I am facing the same issue. Here's what happened in my case (using a guide found here at XDA-Developers):
-- unlocked the bootloader
-- booted to bootloader and flashed twrp
-- used adb to reboot to recovery (adb reboot recovery)
-- used twrp recovery to flash nougat update (two zip files, one ~1300mb and second ~680mb)
-- had some errors that were expected, the guide said ignore them and reboot after both zips have been flashed.
-- the flash overall was successful as the phone booted in emui 5 with android nougat. However, there was no virtual keyboard; so decided to do a factory reset
-- rebooted to recovery, but this time, the phone booted to huawei erecovery
-- did a factory reset, but to no avail
-- now, i can't boot into twrp to flash anything else. booting into bootloader and using fastload to flash recovery image is successful, but the phone does not boot to twrp recovery; remain stuck on "your phone is booting up" (or something similar).
My phone is not bricked, as basic telephony, wifi and built-in apps are working fine. But, without a keyboard, its pretty useless for everyday use. Any help in this matter will be appreciated.

This seems helpful; but how can I flash recovery if I can't boot to fastboot?
[Update] Oh, got to fastboot, trying the suggested recovery now.
Fixed
Fixed using the suggestion above. Thanks.

Bricked LG G6 H870

Hello all,
After having trouble to boot to TWRP through recovery (and when the phone was still functional), I messed around and flashed TWRP through Flashify and now I can't even go to the OS. When i try to get to recovery I get sort of a bootloop in TWRP and I also get this if I simply reboot the phone. At this point I already lost all hope since I think the phone is bricked for good.
If someone have any idea how to get through this I would be very pleased.
Thanks.

Have you tried to flash through lgup?
I had the same problem last week and i said the same (bricked phone)
this solution worked for me after 100 attempt
before the LG logo appear try to enter to recovery (volume down + power button / release power when the logo appear and click again )
try this, from the unlocking guide
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g6/how-to/official-lg-g6-bootloader-unlock-t3614719
Alternatively, you may be able to boot into fastboot without ADB by powering off the phone then power the phone on while holding Volume UP (USB cable will need to be removed otherwise it may boot into LG Download Mode)

if it boots into fastboot you should be able to flash twrp.img from adb
then i would go to recovery and start fresh by wiping everything :victory:
Hi guys,
Thanks for the support! It turned out to be a corrupt SD card I had in the phone that was causing TWRP to get screwed.
Thankfully everything is working fine .
Neverheless, thank you all for your support.
Thread can be closed, issue solved.
happy for you bro

Hi dude,
if you're on stock rom try this:
reboot in bootloader/fastboot mode, connect the device to your PC,
open the prompt and type fastboot reboot.... you should solve.
Instead if you're on custom rom let me know.
If you installed some software/app and stucked into bootlooping,
you should be aware of which app you installed last and booting in recovery mode (TWRP)
try to delete it manually.
Cheers
Well

Thats the problem.
I can enter in the bootloader, the phone have the TWRP, are now whats happen but i can enter in the custom recovery.
The screen turns black and grey.
youtube com/watch?v=h9oMBpD0MZQ&feature=youtu.be
The phone dont have a custom rom, is the stock rom.
I erase the system and data in the TWRP, because a problem with my google acount in the phone. but it was worse for the phone.
The only thing i have to do is enter in the stock recovery, and the software installer(vol+ vol - and power).
I cant use the ADB minimal and fastboot. The phone is reconized by the PC, but the program no.
I think this is the only possibility, i download many firnwares, but in all the screen shows "Software install failed incompatible with current version"
In the 3% or 10%.

Wow, you erased system and data ? that's the reason because it will not boot dude.
Fortunately fastboot mode and twrp works and i think that will help you
bring your device back to life.
Do you remember latest firmware of your device ?
Which TWRP version are on ?
mmm

You flashed the TWRP but don't work ?
Fastboot mode is bootloader mode so.....
what happen if you turn off the device and restart it
holding vol - and power button until it boot into system/bootloader ?
And vol + vol - and power buttons = three buttons aka DLOAD method are used to flash a firmware
but only in android 6.
Without know the latest firmware you was running on your device
it's very difficult to revive the phone, regardless of the type of device...
Another way to try to revive the phone is a rebrand but it is a bit difficult
and you need the correct files with a working TWRP...
Sorry dude i think i cannot help you anymore...
I wish you the best

[solved!] Used ODIN to install twrp but phone won't boot into recovery at all

Problem solved! i was installing the wrong version of twrp this is the correct version: https://eu.dl.twrp.me/j5xnlte/
I'm using SM-J510H
So I installed samsung drivers.
I even installed ADB and it's drivers (now i have samsung android in the device manager)
I downloaded TWRP for j53gxx:
https://eu.dl.twrp.me/j53gxx/
The .tar for odin (twrp-3.4.0-0-j53gxx.img.tar)
I did the OEM unlock and debugging thing I even got the notification that the computer was trying to access blah blah I did allow always.
Put the phone in download mode (Down + Home + Power)
Press up to enter download mode.
Connect the phone.
Untick reboot in odin.
Use the ap to select the correct file
Start success!
I try to reload into recovery tried so many different ways even the adb command to reboot into recovery. All I get is a little thing on the top left saying warranty bit recovery and then the screen is black.
It doesn't load into the default recovery it just stays black. I need to take the battery to rest...
I tried with adb but when i force it to load up into download mode (adb reboot bootloader)
adb doesn't recognize the phone anymore
I've now downloaded the android ask maybe that will solve things lol but does anyone have any advice please?
Should I consider installing a different recovery? like maybe CWM?
It has a costume rom on i guess it says "Hebrew by daniel mouyal for bt" in the about tab in the settings...
I tried using ADB to install but when it's in download mod it can't find the phone so when i enter the install command:"fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.8.x.x-xxx.img" it says: "waiting for device"
Well I've been installing the wrong version of twrp lol sry!
So just in case someone else hits the same problem it's not the twrp i posted before but this one:
https://eu.dl.twrp.me/j5xnlte/
When recovery is finished flashing in Odin, remove your battery to turn the device off.
Then put the battery back in and press vol+ and power button and home button at the same time.
Your device should then boot into twrp.
If you reboot before doing this the android operating system will ovewrite twrp with stock recovery and you will have to start the process again
Also you used the wrong twrp. J53gxx is 2015 model j500h and j5xnlte is j510fn not j510h. You must be careful or else you may seriously damage your device.
Use this twrp here for your device j510h

Thank you for the response!
I managed to figure out the issue it was the wrong twrp version.. I can't update the title though
That's no problem.
What I would suggest though is to post how you fixed your issue in case anyone has problems in the future they can be referred to your thread here
