I would like to use my lock screen to check notifications directly and control the music player as I could on my old device. Is there a way to achieve that?
I am using BlackPlayer as my music player and I have allowed it to access my lock screen, but when I check it out, nothing has changed.
Any solutions would be appreciated. Thank you!
Edit: I figured it out about the notifications, but I still can't get the lockscreen to show Album Art. Anyone?
I'm 90% sure that ZenUI doesn't support custom music backgrounds. If that feature is critical to you, some third-party lock screens may support it.
Meh, third party lock screens want me to disable my fingerprints, so I guess that's that. Well at least I got the notifications right. Thanks for responding!
Yo @Blackrose110 go to config>lock screen and select NO the option skip the slide page. That's all, I'm using poweramp and Spotify with theirs lock screen widgets without any problem.

I do get a notification, which I found in the managing notifications settings. I don't get an album cover as my lock screen wallpaper though...

Hi, and thank you! It turns out that this is a new update to the app, so I turned it on and now my lock screen is the same as yours.
It's not what I usually had on my previous phone but it's good enough.
This was recently a beta feature: http://imgur.com/a/5QL1E
Have a nice day!
I can't able to get spotify or wynk music player on lock screen ...when the screen is locked and if i want to change the song again i should unlock my phone and should change the song.

Hi Guys,
Anyone ran into an app that let you control the (running) music player from the locked screen like the I-Phone does it? (back / pause / fwd)
I tried the app Lock2.0 but don't like it because its just a work around the actual problem, with way to much other BS. I think you will need root access in order to implement it properly (might be wrong)
Thanks for the help.
If I could write a app that would be the first thing I would try
The new CyanogenMod ROM have option where you can long press volume keys to control the music player. Pretty nifty.

What version? I updated yesterday to the latest version of CyanogenMod ROM and I tried your suggestion but can not get it working from the locked screen.
Do you have to activate it some where?
Thanks

No settings have to be changed. Just have to long press. You can't pause (that I know of), but next and previous track work.
Love the new Vibrant. Just got it yesterday, but not too fond of the unlock screen as far as the "sweep away" goes. Don't want the pattern unlock either. Suggestions?? Thanks in advance......
There are some good lockscreen replacements apps out there -- WidgetLocker, GOTO, etc. -- but they all seem to have their issues. In my experience, they can (at times) be laggy, show the desktop BEFORE showing the lock screen, and are at times flat out sappy looking. The GOTO lockscreen is *very* nice looking, I must say, but has some bugs to work out. My $.02 on that.
I've actually grown rather fond of the Samsung lockscreen. It let's you swipe any direction that feels natural to you, and is quite responsive. Maybe just keep trying it for awhile and see if it grows on you?
I suppose i'll give it a shot. Would be nice to use a pic of my kids and still have the same ability to swipe it away in any direction. Just not a big fan of the semi opaque screen. Might be a nice double for a picture frame or something. I'll keep trying. Thanks.
There's an app called No Lock that will take the lockscreen away. Works great.
myLock. Google it.

Same. works great. Comes with a widget for quick toggle.
Thanks. Loving No Lock already.
Love it!!! ))
aunlocker is nice but you have to pay for it
Simply Lockscreen Is the lockscreen replacement that I have been using for a few hours seems to work very well when you disable the "statusbar visibale:" and " Show original statusbar:" options.

I use Widget Locker. Good stuff.
Hey guys,
Is there a widget/app that will allow me to control my music from the lockscreen? Specifically, I want previous, pause, and forward controls. The rest of the screen should be occupied by the cover art as much as possible.
A good example of what I am looking for can be found using the default Music Player on HTC Sense. The only problem with the default player is that on the lockscreen the album art looks blurry (but not so in other apps). So esentially, I am looking for a replacement.
I am currently using PlayerPro but I want the album art to cover the whole screen which it does not do... (or as much as possible instead of being constrained in a square as it currently is).
Thanks.
Winamp has a lockscreen player which looks like
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
dunno if thats what you're looking for or if thats exactly how PlayerPro does it (never tried it), but it suits me just fine
Winamp looks promising, I'll try it out and let you know.
DoubleTwist player gives you lockscreen music control.
CM6 (and Im assuming CM7) has simple previous track, play/pause, and next track buttons if you use the default music player.
If you use a cynageon mod rom I think there is a setting in cmsettings to do so, aswell as (like you said) the htc sense one but also miui has good lockscreen controls
Check out poweramp. Really nice lock screen widget.

Widgetlocker replaces your lockscreen and you can customize to your like. Its what I use and its pretty cool. Put some widgets or shortcuts on there for quick access from the lockscreen. Highly recommend.

Well I'm looking for something that occupies the entire screen with album art (when locked) and still maintains a swipe to unlock feature. It's difficult to find this. The problem with WiidgetLocker is that I only want the music to appear on the lock screen when its playing (and not every time).
Or, if anyone knows how to make the default HTC Android Music player from displaying blurry/pixellated album art, let me know
As someone who listens to music very often on my phone, I have always been jealous that iPhone users have so many choices of 3 button headsets that not only control media, but volume as well. There are some 3 button headsets that work for some android devices, but as far as I know, none of them work with the moto x. Personally I am looking for my headset to have 5 functions:
-play/pause
-next track
-previous track
-volume down
-volume up
I have recently figured out how to find a setup that achieves this with minimum inconvenience. There are many apps in the playstore that add more functionality to 1 button headsets, but they have 2 issues that I have have seen.
1) they allow the user at most 4 functions
2) they break the lock screen music controls that were introduced in ICS.
Problem #1 can be fixed by an app I recently discovered that allows you to program up to 5 clicks on your headset and therefore allows me the 5 functions I'm looking for. The app can be found here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shengande.degausslabs
There is unfortunately no way to fix the 2nd problem. There are 3rd party music widgets that can be placed on the lock screen, but they are inconsistent at best with google play music. The work around I have found is to use The app Nils lockscreen notification: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.roymam.android.notificationswidget
This app can display the notifications you allow it to over the lock screen as a widget. I am only allowing it access to music right now, but you can allow it access to any notification. Now when I listen to music, my lock screen looks like:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I know there are other solutions if you're rooted or on a custom rom , but this will work stock. Hopefully this information is useful to those who want 3 button functionality on a 1 button headset.
The actual media player can have a great effect on that functionality as well. I use GoneMAD which has options that allow me to create whatever I want using just a 1-button remote with a variety of button presses/sequences, no extra app required.

True. I was going on the assumption that most people use Google play music, but I'm sure many are still using others.
I have a note 3 running stock 5.0. Is there any way to put phone into vibrate mode without entering the pin in the lock screen? Before the on-off menu after a long press on button gave you sound options on the bottom so you could quickly go to silent or vibrate without opening to the home screen.
Also when I open camera widget from lockscreen it looks like this
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Half the screen is black. Picture come out properly but viewfinder is obscured.
Your picture issue is a software bug that'll be fixed some time
But no you can't change sounds without unlocking the phone which is very nice but also unconventional

It is not nice imo. When an impromptu meeting occurs I need to go to vibrate mode quickly. Before I could do it from power menu or by holding the volume button down.. Now I need to enter a pin. It is very inconvenient.
The opaque white notifications covering the status bar also suck.
Thank you very much for answering though. Better to KNOW there is no way around this issue than be frustrated trying to find a way to get to mute.
Well I found a way for fellow gear owners. You install wearable widgets in gear from Samsung store then install a widget called Silent Mode Widget on your note 3 and add it to wearable widgets. The silent mode widget will then function from your gear watch. While the phone is locked and in your pocket you can set vibration mode or silent mode or normal mode right from your watch! Never even have to touch phone let alone unlock with pin.
