Sorry for the necropost, but I'm looking for the same thing. Can't get LGUP to recognize my phone, but TWRP works fine. Did you ever find a copy?

Extract it from the KDZ.
Google for KDZ extractor...

Is there anyway to stop OTA's on the V20 without root?

As the title says, Is there anyway to stop OTA's without root? I have a unlocked US996 running the system and kernel from a VS995 via KDZ. So of course Verizon finally decides to push an update to the VS995 and I cannot update without a 16b KDZ file. I can find no way to stop the OTA from downloading. I can fastboot erase cache and get rid of it once downloaded but it just downloads again. I real do have no interest in rooting and I can use my S8+ until I can find a KDZ to update with. I tried lg-firmware but they do not list the 16b kdz yet. Does anyone have a site that may have newer KDZ's faster than that site?
Nope, if you aren't rooted, then you can't freeze the apps that do OTA. Your only choice is to keep deleting it from cache.
Also, while boot and system for the VS995 work with the US996, the full firmware may not. So even if you can find the KDZ, you may end up having to flash back to the US996 firmware, and then flash the boot / system from VS995 all over again.
You can always be the guinea pig and let us know.

Soft bricked my H918 trying to upgrade, need some help.

I tried to upgrade my H91810j (T-Mobile variant) to 10p using a flashable zip without recovery in it that I got in another thread on here. I made a mistake and wiped /data instead of factory reset and it would only boot into TWRP even after flashing the new file and an old file, I also wiped all my backup files (stupid me) so I've tried everything from flashing kdz and flashing zips but I eventually lost recovery (I can't boot into recovery, twrp or stock) and I couldn't flash it with fastboot because I locked my bootloader (several times unlocking and locking and all of a sudden it no longer wanted to unlock) and LGUP tells me I'm on 10j but I'm told I can't flash anything because of ARB. Now while trying to flash something with LGUP the phone tells me I'm on 10p so I guess I'm incremented. I can't seem to flash twrp.img (renamed to recovery.img) with the modded LGUP.
Is there anything that could be done to save possible root and twrp (if it's still there) or am I just going to have to save my phone by using the stock KDZ to go to 10p or newer rom? I really want root on this even if it's systemless (preferred type). Thanks in advance!
OKay I see, you might have to try to install LG bridge and use the recovery option to install h918 10q but you'll lose root because from what I see is when tried installing 10p it must have overwritten the os and failed to install 10p which means you might be stuck but if you can go into download mode then you might be able to use LG bridge to get into 10q latest os but not root atm. Or try booting into download mode and then try flashing 10j kdz

Thanks for taking the time to help me out. I just used LGUP and a 10p KDZ to flash it back to OEM stock, I'm hoping that by sticking with the older version someone may find root sooner or later.

yeah no problem, Also If we get root working on 10p that means it'll work on the latest version too as nothing has changed

How to return to complete stock after TWRP installed

Hi guys,
I've done quite a bit of reading and there are some old guides with outdated links, but nothing current that seems to be something I can follow.
I have an LGV20 H918 that I have installed TWRP on and would like to return to completely stock. I used this guide - https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/step-step-guide-lg-v20-h918-unlocking-t3808258 to get where I am if it makes a difference.
Currently, everything is wiped, no system is installed. Now, any attempt to use UPPERCUT / LGUP to install the H91810p_00_0717.kdz file won't work because LGUP won't see the phone in download mode - because I have TWRP 3.2.1-3 installed instead.
Is there a quick way to return the phone to a state where the original download mode exists (Volume Up & USB plug in) and I can use LGUP to reinstall the original H91810p firmware? I don't care about root, or TWRP or anything else at this point. Just need to get back to stock.
Thanks for any help! It would be really appreciated.

You need to be in download mode
Having TWRP shouldn't make any difference

have you installed TWRP to laf partition? that would explain why you don't have download mode. I think you would need to use TWRP terminal and dd command to restore original laf partition. ask in the thread.

Need V20 H918-10P boot.img

Hi guys i am in terrible need of some guidance and help. i cant find a boot.img for the h918
I installed TWRP, and successfully rooted with magisk, but upon updating magisk through the app installed with magisk, now my phone is stuck on the fastboot. 'fastboot reboot' command just restarts it, and its right back to fastboot. i cant get out of it no matter what i do. i can reach the TWRP screen by pressing vol up + insert usb, but i cant install a previous magisk version because i get error 1. i dont know how to reach the download mode to flash a stock kdz, because when i try reaching it it goes back to TWRP menu. I have tried flashing the magisk uninstaller.zip but i cant flash it because it gives me error 1. My only option is flashing a stock boot.img for H91810P.
I actually managed to root successfully, and everything was working fine, until i updated the magisk from v16.0 to v18.0 through the app in the phone, then stuck at boot. I can still access TWRP menu, but not the download mode (i dont know how, with TWRP installed).
i dont know what to do this is my only phone and i work with my phone.
MAIN PROBLEMS:
Relentlessly Stuck at fastboot after installing magisk with TWRP then stupidly upgrading Magisk through the magisk app.
Please Help , I would owe you my life.
Why don't you have a TWRP backup?
Anyway, you can download any H918 ROM zip, extract it, and it will have a boot image.

Just look in the ROMs section and pick any ROM for the H918. If you were on Oreo, be sure to download an Oreo based stock ROM .. if Nougat, then grab a Nougat ROM.

Hey Brain i actually don't know how to proceed even with the boot image what should i do next in my current situation?
If you have the boot.img file, copy it to the storage (internal or external aka microSD), then use TWRP to flash it - you'll have to tap the Image file button to make TWRP load .img files instead of the traditional .zip ones after which you should be able to select the boot.img file and then you select the partition to flash it to. Obviously take your time and GO SLOW during this and make sure you're selecting the right items. If you make a booboo and flash the boot.img to any of the other partitions you're gonna brick the device and have a hard time getting it functional again more than likely.
This is flashed direct install in magisk right?

How do you return Phone COMPLETELY to stock?

I have my H910 Variant Of the LG V20, but it is running a Rooted Oreo Stock with twrp and the booting takes a couple of minutes due to a glitched startup. Does anyone know how to return it to normal Nougat Stock with none of that on it?

You'd need to un-root and re-lock the bootloader to get rid of it, search the forum there's threads about it

It is the bootloader logo or the bootanimation? If its the former, flash a US996/H915 KDZ, redo dirtySanta and try again, you might've had a bad flash. If its the latter, use the key combo to factory reset.

LGUP dumps are fastboot flashable images, use package_extract_file in the update script to flash each individual partitions. Alternatively, use DD to flash every partitions aside from aboot, reboot to fastboot and flash aboot from there.

Take the flashable you downloaded, open it up. There's an updater script in there telling TWRP how to flash the file. Copy the syntax and modify it to your own dumps, then finally zip it up.
