Thanks all!
Not sure if this is what you're looking for but try *#*#4636#*#*

My wife just got her unlocked l7 and I'm only getting edge data speeds. How can I set it up for t mobile hspa speeds?
Go to: Settings - Wireless & network - Mobile networks - Network mode, now set it to "WCDMA only"
Isn't CDMA Verizon and sprint only? T-Mobile is GSM. I'll try it when my wife gets off work.

try to edit your Access Point Names (APN) or create new APN, maybe your APN doesn't correct. cmiiw/imho
searching with google for APN is good idea

I'll give it a try. Can you mess something up if you do it wrong?

Still didn't work. It will not let me change the default APN.

Got it to change but still on edge. Would like to get 3g at least. Any suggestions?

My wife has her phone at work. I'll look when she gets home. She bought it on amazon. It the P-705 also. What is the APN settings suggested. Her default showed GPRS too. Not sure what this means.

Search it within MOBILE NETWORKS, not 100% sure cause I m now on CM10. Anyway look in settings and when you find Access Point Network(APN) you'll see GPRS or 3G parameters. Check all if something misses you add manually. It's conf from your network , Google it or find from official site huh. I'm tired now

It it normal for my mobile internet to disable when I'm talking on the phone? And when I cut off it comes back
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
It's always done it for me so I'm assuming it's normal
Are other phones like this?

I'll also say my old Galaxy Nexus and HTC One X did the same - I'm almost 100% sure it's normal behavior in Android
If I'm not mistaken it's because your using 3g to call someone. Now if you were on 4G and try to call somebody most likely it would still say 4G on the top notification bar because it's using your non LTE band to call somebody and allows you to use LTE for data purposes so you would be able to hop on the internet and browse at the same time on a call. Now I know with AT&T you can call somebody and browse the internet while on 3G.

Is there any app available to see what LTE spectrum you're on? The new AWS spectrum is ridiculously fast and it would be cool to know if you're on it or not without running a speed test. Any info would be appreciated.

Not sure, but damn.. I don't care, with performance like this lol. Best I've gotten on a phone.

Wow, I'd say. Very impressive. Out of curiosity, was this tested in/near an airport? I ask only because I've found LTE speeds to be generally improved there.

This was done inside my work building and nowhere near an airport. My S4 only achieved 20-25mb/sec in the same area, so this came as a very nice surprise.

As soon as I can get to my device I'll check for the Hidden Menu apk. There might not be one on the S5...

On the Note 3 there there was an option to get into the phones ServiceMode Menu through dial codes from within the phone dialer. I haven't had any luck finding anything on the S5 yet. I'm not sure Verizon has turned on the Band 4 LTE modem on the Galaxy S5, I know that on the Note 3, Band 4 LTE was turned OFF by default, if you had root, you could go in ServiceMode settings and turn it ON.
Hope this helps.
Samsung ServiceMode Dial Codes: (at least on the S4 and Note 3)
*#0011# General Debug screen
*#2263# Allows you to force any frequency on your phone
*#27663368378# Main screen
Coming from the Note 4 I could type #*0011* and see the various LTE/other network stats. Can somebody tell me how to do this in the tmo V20?
Sent from my LG-H918 using Tapatalk
Try *#546368#*918# and go into field test and modem settings
Thank you. It didn't quite display what I was looking for but looking in LTE bands I saw band 30 and 40 but not 66. Maybe it isn't enabled out of the box... Dunno

The app LTE Discovery can expose all this data and more without dialer codes
