Hey guys.
I have the A2017G B04 (TWRP, unlocked bootloader, CM13) and I tried switching to DrakenFX's A2017UV1.1.0B15. I flashed both the bootstack and the systemstock on my phone but now every time I boot my phone gets this message:
< More options
press VOLUME keys
Your device software can't be
checked for corruption. Please lock the bootloader
Visit this link on another device:
g.co/ABHg.co/placeholder
If no key pressed:
Your device will boot in 5 seconds.
The volume buttons don't do anything. What do I do? I tried re-flashing CM13, wiping, wiping system, wiping davlik (not neccessarily in that ordeer but in different combinations).
What do I do?
Thanks in advance.
Don't do anything. It's normal, happens when you unlock your bootloader. Just wait 5 seconds and it'll boot.

Oh.
Well it doesn't boot after 5 seconds, it just doesn't let me do anything. When I click the power button it just shows me a black screen with linux's penguin. All I have is the options: Recovery, power off & restart are obviously useless and fastboot mode just enters fastboot mode.
The issue might be that you tried to flash the entire A2017U system and bootstack on a A2017G. Last I checked, that didn't work.
Boot into fastboot, connect to your PC and flash TWRP, boot into TWRP and flash the bootstack and modem for your model (grab from the LOS 14.1 thread). Then flash either just systemstock for ZTE's stock Nougat, or flash LOS 14.1.

Thank you so much! That worked, I'm running LOS and switching to A2017G B09 as we speak!
I have the same problem and fixed it!

What you need:
-A computer
-Axon7toolkit
-MiFlash
What to do:
Select your model then you will see a list of options. select option 10 and press OK. then wait for the recovery to download. MiFlash will open and Instructions.txt.
In MiFlash press select, then select this PC>Local disk (C: )>Axon7Development>Axon7Toolkit>MiFlash>B10.
Then press OK and then Flash. when It's done hold the power button until you feel a vibration. Then wait for it to boot, It might take 2 minutes to hide the ZTE logo. then you will see the boot animation. You will have to wait a while for the AXON splash screen to dissapear.
Just setup your phone and you're done!
Done.

The issue I am having is that I wanted to set my phone back to factory, after I relocked the bootloader my phone when booting(with or without the volume keys) would shut off right after showing the ZTE boot screen. Now when I connect it, it shows up as HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM5)..
Ive been looking at these two forums similar to my problem:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/help/bricked-a2017u-t3573798
https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/help/a2017g-totally-bricked-t3537990
I understand I should use the axon7tool(When I try "axon7tool -r boot" i get failed to connect) , but I dont know exactly what I am doing.. I apologize for me being so dumb about this but if someone could please spell out exactly what I would have to do, to get my phone back to factory settings. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
RECAP: Bootloader locked, shows up as HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM5), It did have TWRP.
EDIT: When trying MiFlash, I get a ERROR_BAD_FORMAT 0
I just did the exact same thing you did and had the same issue. What worked for me was downloading the factory image from ZTE, putting it on an SD card, going into stock recovery (vol up + power) and select apply update from sd card. The file you download from ZTE is double zipped, so make sure to extract the update.zip file from the parent zip before you put it on the SD card. It will be in a folder with the same parent zip name. I no longer can boot into bootloader from stock recovery (not sure if that's normal), but at least my phone works again. Here's the link.
https://www.zteusa.com/axon-7#support
Hope this helps.
EDIT: I also had TWRP when I locked my bootloader, so I'm assuming you're able to get to stock recovery with volume up + power.
Doesnt let me boot into anything.. Not sure how I screwed it up this badly. Im trying a MiFlash method right now to see if it helps
what happens when you hold down volume up and power button at the same time? you should feel a vibrate and when you let go, you should see the stock recovery.
No, Just shuts off after the ZTE logo pops up
The phone might still be on at that point. When the ZTE logo would pop up for a split second for me, MiFlash was able to see the phone. What happens when you just hold the power button for about 10 seconds right after the screen goes off? Does it stay off?
I believe you are right, when the logo isnt up(after it disappears) that is when it connects as the COM5 otherwise when the logo pops up it disconnects the resumes the cycle.
so if I hold it, it just keeps showing the ZTE logo then shutting off
Just to clarify, holding down both the volume up and power button simultaneously at the same time for at least 3-5 seconds after the phone is off (not after the screen goes blank after the ZTE logo) still gives the same result as if you just pressed the power button?
Yes.
If MiFlash can see the phone, maybe you can unlock the bootloader again?
exact same problem as you, except MiFlash successfully flashes B19 but it still doesn't boot
What you need is FLASH stock recovery in EDL Mode.
That will fix your problem..
P.S. as soon you boot your device after Flashing stock recovery ,will perform a factory reset.

I have not tried to flash a redownloaded version of B15 because I cannot move the file onto my sd card. I was able to flash a signed twrp on locked bootloader before to enable MTP, but whenever I flash a signed twrp now, I just get stuck on zte screen. Why is this phone so inconsistent?
Hello, ive unlocked my bootloader on my h870 and ive flashed twrp. when ive just flashed it i was able to boot into twrp but now everytime i try to boot into it it wil wipe all my data with the stock lg recovery mode can someoneone please help me? Thanks! Just got the phone a few hours ago
You have to install a custom rom or root to make twrp permanent, if you don't do that it will install always after the first boot the stock recovery.

When you have flashed twrp, you do the buton combination to enter twrp, if you fail to enter twrp a the phone boots into system the stock recovery will be reflashed so you have to reflash twrp.
Try making these:
When you are in the bootloader after flashing twrp press button down+ power button. When the screen turns off quickly stop pressing power button and quickly press again until the lg logo appear.
When the lg logo appear stop pressing power button, quickly press again and stop pressing the power button and press again quickly until you see twrp logo.
These method works for me for booting twrp easily
The stock recovery appears but you have to select the factory reset option and it will boot into TWRP

Unfortunately still not succeeded after trying all the solutions i've found here
Hey, i have the same Problem, my TWRP broke, i can't boot into recovery and my Device ist not listed in fastboot mode. Can someone help me out?
I get the ring in windows when i plugin but its not recognizing.. Can someone pls help me out?
Okay, I'm going to try to explain it, and see if I can succeed where others have not.
You install TWRP by booting to bootloader and using fastboot to push a new recovery:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
It seems like you accomplished that successfully. The next step is to immediately boot to recovery; do not boot the phone to system first. You will get the factory prompts for wiping data, but it will not actually wipe your data this time. Instead it will boot to TWRP.
Now, while you are in TWRP, you need to either root (flash Magisk) or install a custom ROM. If you do not, your next boot to system will remove TWRP and restore the stock recovery. If that happens, then the data-wiping prompts the next time you boot to recovery are real and the phone will wipe. So you MUST - must must must - root or install a custom ROM while you have TWRP up, in order for TWRP to persist.
If you have already experienced this problem, you need to start over at the beginning; flash TWRP again, and then follow the rest of these directions.
Maybe this will help clear up the problem for you guys.

I can't get to see the TWRP menu at all!!
WTF is going on?
I have repeated the process many many times and always the same. What i am missing here?!?!?

Got the same problem. I unlocked Bootloader, checked if unlocked (yes). After flashing TWRP i see the TeamWin Screen and phone boot again. There is no TeamWin Menu.
A try with an older TWRP-Version and flashing via fastboot with another PC does not work too.
Anybody an idea?
Did you guys manage to fix it?
Matt.

With 3.2.1.0, 3.2.2.0 and 3.2.3.0 it only briefly shows the TWRP screen and then boots into system anyway.
With 3.1.1.0 the key combination to boot into TWRP as with the other versions above simply doesn't work, again it directly boots into system without even showing the TWRP screen.
I'm stuck with a resetted phone because of this bull****, because some instructions said "oh, the reset dialog will not really reset your data..." - yeah thanks for nothing, buddy.
So what now?
EDIT: I got it working using TWRP 3.1.1.0, but the same version from the OFFICIAL site didn't work, as I described above.
The only 3.1.1.0 TWRP that works with my phone is the one from this Link: http://downloads.codefi.re/rashed/g6/
(which is linked ... somewhere here in the Forum, don't remember which thread)
So after stupidly trying to update twrp through twrp instead of fastboot, I can only access fastboot and the universal bootloader installed on the phone. If I don't do anything, the phone simply goes through universal bootloader and I see a small penguin before the screen goes back and I need to restart the phone again. However, in the bootloader I can select to go to fastboot which does work. I've tried flashing TWRP through fastboot (fastboot flash recovery twrp...) and it said success however after clicking 'reboot to recovery', the phone once again just boots to the bootloader and I'm back at square one.
Thank you so much if anyone can help!
FYI, you can update TWRP using TWRP. Nothing wrong with that, I do it all the time. It's faster and easier to do so.
You might have an incompatibility between bootstack and TWRP.
So, please provide us more info.

What were you trying to do besides updating TWRP?:
Funny thing... I'm having the exact same problem.
I instaled TWRP (3.1.1-0-9c3b7e99) using the AxonToolkit 1.2.1.
Everything went smooth with the toolkit. I could get into TWRP and did some back-ups (as recommended), then wipe Dalvik/ART Cache, System, data, cache, and finally, try to install LineageOS 15.1.
I used the files:
- ZTE_A7LOSv1_UniversalBootStack.zip
- A2017U_OreoModem.zip
- lineage-15.1-20180810-UNOFFICIAL-axon7.zip
UniversalBoot and Modem were installed correctly, but I got an error when trying to install Lineage. I can't remeber the error number but it said something like: "this ROM is for device ailsa_ii_axon7 but this device is ."
Since then... my phone is in eternal loop and can only get into Fastboot. Can't access TWRP.
Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help me.
Don't mind... I have it back.
After many reboots, It only seems that this is working different with the Universal O bootloader. On the main screen, I tap the volumen button, choose "Recovery", reboot, press the power button on the main screen, press it again, the Linux Pinguin appears, press power button again, and then TWRP is back.
After that, I got to wipe and do the normal ROM installation process.
Hey everyone,
I was running through the process of installing LOS 15.1 official when I hit a snag. I unlocked the bootloader, installed the Universal O bootloader, and was in the process of updating my version of TWRP. After flashing the image to recovery, I noticed that the TWRP version hadn't updated to the new one. I tried rebooting and that's when the problem started. Now, when I hit power + volume up, I get the ZTE powered by android screen, then 3 flashes of the notification light, and then it powers off. If I hit the power button, it sits on that same ZTE splash screen for what seems like indefinitely. I can't figure out how to get back into TWRP.
Any help is greatly appreciated
You can try flashing twrp via the twrp app
Hey!
Try to reboot the phone, press volume button to get the selection menu and reboot to fastboot.
connect the phone to your PC and using the a7toolkit flash the recovery again.
I think I did exactly the same thing as you and I fixed it this way

I assume you are coming from stock because you're unlocking your bootloader. I have a question about this process, did you install an older twrp first before flashing the O bootloader?

When I connect my phone to my computer, none of the toolkits I've tried can see it. It comes up as "Handset Diagnostic Interface (DFU) (Com4)". When I attempt to enter EDL mode with volume +, volume -, and power I don't get a flashing LED, just a solid one. As near as I can tell, this means my phone is hardbricked. I've got an EDL cable on order to hopefully fix this, but it's going to take almost a month to get here :crying:

Yes, the toolkit I used (Axon7RootToolV4) first unlocked the bootloader and then had a step to flash TWRP. When I was attempting to update TWRP, per the LOS instructions, it wasn't updating like it has in the past on other phones. I now know that restarting was the worst thing to do at that point. If the version of TWRP doesn't also match the bootstack and ROM, you're going to have a bad day if you restart.
Hello everybody !
My A2017G displays the unlocked bootloader warning message, and then says that "Your device is corrupt [...] will poweroff in 30 seconds".
When the second message is displayed, if:
I hold power button, LOS15.1 starts properly and work well.
I hold power button + volume up, Recovery TWRP Nfound is launched.
So my question is: Is it the normal way to start the phone? Or something wrong during flash ?
What I have done:
I tried to flash my A2017G from LOS14.1 to LOS15.1, with some difficulties
I booted in (functional) TWRP, flash zip file of Oreo modem and universal bootloader, success
Always in TWRP, I flash TWRP NFound image. Try to reboot in the new recovery ... Problem occurs
Finally I found a way to go into recovery mode (read above) and format data, system ... and flash LOS15.1
I have access to fastboot, recovery and EDL mode.

I already know about warning message due to unlocked bootloader. After 5 seconds phone boots normally.
But in my case, after the warning, phone doesn't boot and displays "Your device is corrupted ..."
I can boot only if I press power button during the second warning.
If I try
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
, phone will never boot into recovery.
