Huawei p8 fastboot fail - Huawei P8 Questions & Answers

Hi,
I have been looking for answers about unlocking my phone for ages, tried a lot of solutions but nothing works.
I have been trying to unlock my p8
One of the steps involved rebooting the phone into fastboot mode. Here it goes wrong because when i push all buttons: volume up/down and power button, the phone tries to istall some update (Huawei software installing) and then stalls at 90%
Then i have to reboot it again and start all over with the same result.
I have the adb toolkit, latest driver, phone has bee reset to factory settings, what else can i do?
Thanks in advance
R

Have you tried adb command "adb reboot-bootloader"? I'm using this command to get into fastboot.

werirly enough, i just clicked recovery in Hisuite software from Huawei and the phone went instantly into fastboot/recovery mode, no need for presing volume up/down and power button to get it there.
opened adb via the command and typed fastboot oem unlock ************************
got the message phone unlocked so i think that did the trick? Just need another sim to see if it is really unlocked
then i entered "fastboot reboot" in the command and it restarted, seems to work ok now
so i guess this one is solved by myself

i guess i am wrong
the phone is stil locked adn the problem of my first post remains
any ideas?

This is bootloader unlock guide, not SIM unlock. For SIM unlocking you need a paid software but i doubt that it's even locked to a carrier.

when i got the message "Phone Unlocked" i tried to insert sim cards from 2 different countries which work on another unlocked phone.
I had to insert a sim code but it does not get accepted.
I did not know there is a difference between unlocking and sim-unlocking
Is there no other way then paid software? The p8 i own is bought from Orange, doesn't even work with an orange sim from another country

Did they refund you?
Have you tried DC-Unlocker? Only €4 to unlock the P8: https://www.dc-unlocker.com/buy/user_prices

Yes, they do phone network unlocks as well - here's their step-by-step unlock guide for certain Huawei models (includes the P8): https://www.dc-unlocker.com/huawei-android-hisilicon-unlock-guide
Perhaps, you should first contact them with your details - phone make+model, country of origin, network provider & IMEI - to check if it's possible for them.

I have unlock code - What to do next?!

I got an unlock code from Vodafone. I followed the instructions, put in a different carriers SIM (Orange), boots the phone up and there's no prompt to unlock code. The phone boots normally and says no sim card is in. Has anyone had similar problems? Rang both VF and HTC and were unable to help! Does anyone have an idea of how to bring up the 'unlock' prompt?
Once you unlock the phone, it should bring up a keypad, or you should be able to bring up the keypad to dial in the unlock code. Hit OK afterwards, and it'll unlock the SIM. Just did it now.

Need help about downgrade, TOUGHEST problem ever!! Softbank 001HT DHD

Hi all,
I've been in a trouble that never been before. And after several tries, lots of google, I have to ask for help
I've got a Desire HD locked to Softbank Japan (001HT) comes with v2.37.726.2 with S-ON and can NOT access to any menu except emergency call.
So I can't enable USB Debugging, can't flash to another version although I have goldcard already (Main version is older! problem).
Phone can go to recovery, fastboot can see phone, but ADB NOT.
Tried all mode recovery, hboot usb, normal mode (only emergency call) and HTC original upgrade tools can't connect to phone as well.
So, the situation is: can't enable USB Debugging, phone not allow to flash to any older version, can't ADB. ONLY HBoot usb fastboot can see phone.
Anyone have experience with this before?
Willing to donated some $$$ if can help me out.
Thank you
You cannot downgrade that build, because HTC added some new security measures. Sorry, but you are stuck before someone finds a new way to downgrade.
That's sad Any chances to flash to higher version or whatever so at least I can use the phone as a PDA?
Just to give it a bump.
Any way to by pass that emergency call only so I can use it as a PDA?
Found those:
PD98IMG_Ace_Gingerbread_S_Orange_ES_2.37.75.8_Radio_12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2_release_194089_signed
and some TMO_UK TMO_AT with 2.37.11x.x
will give them a try
Update:
PD98IMG_Ace_Gingerbread_S_TMO_UK_2.37.110.5_Radio_12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2_release_189654_signed
This file works. Although there is no solution to downgrade 2.37, but at least it can by pass that stupid emergency dial only and allow to input unlock code / or use it as a PDA

This Japanese phone need special way to enter the Airplane mode without the SIM card. I translate from a Japanese site:
1. Slide down to enter Emergency call interface.
2. Put and hold the Power button for few seconds, a dialog will appear, select Airplane mode
3. Touch the Home button
4. Now you can use the phone, change the settings, root, and unlock it
Hi,
@Tudo: Thanks for the info.
Question: I put my phone into airplane mode and was able to access a screen where I could read "Sim network subset unlock pin".
So I got an HTC unlock code from a trusted website. After I input the code, it said: "Invalid password"; and my phone still is sim-locked. Am I doing something wrong? Does "sim network subset unlock pin" mean the same as "sim unlock code"? I'm lost here...
Hope someone can advise me...;-)

Help!! Network unlock unsuccessful

Today I got the code to unlock my phone for all companies, I have the PIN unlock code, NCK and MCK, the problem happens when I enter the PIN code and tells me "Network unlock unsuccessful", I am 100% sure that the PIN is correct, then I can't do more, help please. Could unlock it with the soft method in the forum, but if I have the unlock code, I guess it's better in the normal way. I'm Epsylon 12feb CM7.2.

Try to do it on stock rom...
If u do it with the softunlock it will fail!
Sent from my MB525 using xda premium
Soft unlock works, I've using this method for 4 month with CM7, but with some roms this method doesn't work. I'll try it on stock rom later.
I think he means entering the code when you are on stock rom. Don't know if it's gonna help. You could try.
First, insert your SIM-card into another (already unlocked) phone, and turn PIN-security off.
Then insert SIM back into your Defy, and try enter Network unlock code.

The SIM-card, is without PIN, i don't know why is asking me for a code, I'm using soft unlock with CM7 right now, and i have no problems with my simcard, i'll try it later with stock rom, it should work.
I'm now in stock ROM, CEE deblur, and still not working, still asking me for "SIM network unlock PIN", i put in the PIN code and "network unlock request unsuccessful". I'll try if the soft unlock works on White Rabbit.

P8 - bootloader issue

Hi Gents, Ladies
I have the GRA-L09 P8, single SIM south Africa. I installed B200 via SD card no issue, then tried to install I think B313 Romanian.? Not sure..
Device is now stuck in a boot loop - I see the boot animation, over an over....!!!!
I thought, and still think, I need a Huawei Bootloader unlock code, as the device doesnt seem to listen to Fastboot to flash another ROM.
Huawei site to obtain bootloader unlock codes seems to be having issues, and Huawei support will not assist. Right now I just wanna go back to the stock ROM and get my device back.
Any help would be appreciated - thanks gents, and ladies!

Did you try to do a factory reset, when the phone is rebooting and the screen is black before you see the huawei logo you need to be fast here hold volume up + power button together at the same time to enter stock recovery you should be able to do a factory reset from there.
If this doesn't work try to install B200 rom put the dload folder in the sd card. Hold the 3 keys( volume up, volum down and power) to flash the rom make sure to hold the buttons when the screen is black and before you see the huawei logo.
Great I'm try these thanks - neither will format the SD card right? Can I use B200 from any region?

No, but use the B200 you installed before on your phone. If you want from another region make sure the rom you download CxxxB200 , the xxx part matches the one that came with your phone.

Well when you go to Huawei Centre just don't tell them that the phone is unlocked. If hardware of the phone is damaged your warranty would be valid. I am not sure about software.
By the way you can't lock bootloader again. Even if you do it will say relocked not locked. So it means that bootloader was unlocked.
