Where I can I download the stock ROM for this model of Yoga Book? I hosed up my machine trying to root. I can boot into recovery mode, hopefully I can flash a new ROM to recover.
Thanks,,,
This could help ...

You can try this one: http://s55.filefactory.com/get/f/osm8z9hwyrz/1844e07b49cb41c8/YB1-X90L_USR_S000155_1609272258_WW06_BP_ROW-flashfiles.zip
It is for YB1-X90L, however, I had success with my X90F. Download just lasts 10 hours if you don' t want to subscribe

Be aware that you'll lose use of the touchpad/halo kb if you flash this stock. Can't find any way of resolving this problem.
No - I' ve full access to all features!
Halo keybord has all functions and can be used without any restrictions. There' s nothing in stuck Only rooting with supersu isn' t possible and the machine is now identified as YB1-X90L and has some additional functions like symbol in toolbar for missing smartcard etc.

I reflashed the stock ROM (using Intel PhoneFlash Tool), then allowed the two updates. Still no sketchpad/halo function at all. Do I understand from your last paragraph that you then flashed those imgs after the two updates?

Hi,
I used regular adb / fastboot. As my Yoga was totally stucked I flashed all the images and then installed the updates. Now it' s build LenovoYB1-X90L_S000241_161209, Kernel-Version 3.14.55-x86_64-ga6a34be.
Last of all I locked Bootloader and restored all my Apps.
Good luck!

My only options to flash any of the img files is through adb sideload or placing them on the sdcard and installing via recovery. Every attempt fails with an E:footer is wrong; E:signature verification failed message. I can't find any way around the errors.

Have you tried the Intel PhoneFlash Tool? So far I've managed to flash the Stock twice, but with the pad/halo problem I described above.

Hi,
with this procedure I could restore my bricked device:
- like described at this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979, I downloaded and installed universal adb / fastboot and fixed fastboot drivers
- then unzipped YB1-X90L_USR_S000155_1609272258_WW06_BP_ROW-flashfiles.zip and copied boot.img, bootloader, factory.img, recovery.img and system.img to my adb-folder (%UserProfile%\adb)
Caution: The next steps will wipe all your personal data! It' s a complete reset to factory settings!!!
- rebooted my device with "Volume up" and "Power" to bootloader (fastboot mode) and then connected it via usb
- opened cmd and navigated to my adb-folder
- tested fastboot mode with command "fastboot devices" with success and
- then flashed all the images (as referred to above) with fastboot commands: fastboot flash boot boot.img, fastboot flash bootloader bootloader and so on.
- after it I rebooted my device to system - be patient, don't power off, it can last very long time before first boot .
- as I had no success with supersu, at this point I decided for myself to relock bootloader - this was the second reset to factory settings
-then I re-installed all my apps manually and restored settings, contacts and calendar from my google-account
I hope, this helps

I find this very strange this site charges to download the firmware that cannot be found from any other reputable site that I have searched on. It may well be legit but I will steer clear anyway.

you need to input country code to enable keyboard. There are several steps as below :
a) Open ‘’contacts’’ app, create a new local contact ” test”
b) Click search button at contact
c) Input ####6020# code into search bar
d) Browser the country code list, then chose country code you want to use, such as US
e) Then DUT will reboot

Long time coming. Thanks for taking the trouble to detail the method. However, in order to update to lastest firmware I was obliged to input a cc. I assumed then that I had got the Halo etc working simply by updating the firmware(!). Even so, good to know why I didn't have Halo. This info is sure to be of benefit to others. Thank you.

every version of "HuaweiUpdateExtractor" which i have found, did not work for me! Because the PLK-L01 is missing in the device selection setup! Please can you give me a link off a working Extractor?
BTW: isn’t it enaugh, to solve the above described problem to flash the ori. recovery with fastboot or adb?
i would try:
1.) connect the phone to pc
2.) open the communication to the phone using adb-tool v1.0 ore otherwise with the command "adb
devices"
3.) flashing the recovery with "fastboot flash recovery.img"
4.) and than restarting the phone with "fastboot reboot recovery.img"
ore otherwise
4.) reboot the phone with pressing the 3 right key simultaneously longer than 5 sec. to restart flashing the update.app file.
is that way wrong? Please explain.

hey there, someone with better experience than me will surely help you out a lot better, but i can guarantee that the 0.9.9.3 release works
just leave "unknown (worstenbrood)" as profile, pick your update.app file, unpack it
personally i used the b121 rom, and flashed it on my phone with adb, more or less as you described, loading both recovery.img and system.img from update.app... "fastboot devices" > "fastboot flashrecovery recovery.img" > "fastboot flashsystem system.img".
this did the trick with me
at my first try i get only more than 25 nameless files! So i thought the procedure miss.
so my question now, how will they get there names? Than’ks for your reply.

Try to extract only these 2 files (system.img and recovery.img) separately.
For those who will kill their phones without backups:
1. you need to extract boot.mg (usually 10.boot.img) and system.mg (usually 14.system.img)
2. Somehow get into fast boot mode (from TWRP reboot>>reboot into boot loader
3. Connect the phone to the computer and (using platform-tools from Android SDK) from terminal:
fastboot flash boot 10.boot.img
fastboot flash system 14.system.img
fastboot reboot
The version of the ROM is of no importance

Hello all,
I really need help for my ZE500KL. In summary, it stucks on ASUS logo and bootloop. I can't get to welcome screen.
It is not rooted, i've never touched to the original system. I got this problem after an update from OTA. The update was not interrupted for information.
I can get to the recovery menu, can do a wipe data/factory reset, but it solves nothing. Same problem.
I've tried :
- apply update from adb but this stops at 46% and failed with an error like E:failed to verify the whole-file signature
- apply update from microSD but it stops and failed without error message
I don't know if there is another way to fix.
Thanks
Bro go to the asus site and download the whole rom nd flash it thru recovery.
M also had a same problem.
So let me know nd which variant u hav?
Thanks for the reply.
When i said "I have apply update", this means that i've downloaded zip file from Asus website, and loaded it via the recovery but the process stops at 46%.
Maybe it will work for a custom recovery like CWM or TWRP but as i know, there is not a working CWM or TWRP for ZE500KL at this time. Maybe.
For me, the stock recovery don't work for loading the zip file from ASUS. It says something like : Unable to verify the whole-file signature, Process failed

If your device stops at logo this means that it boots into fastboot mode. I`ve had a same problem. You can take this adb driver . After installing you need to put in C:\adb file boot.img from archive which you dowloaded from official asus.com, then run cmd.
Code:
cd c:\adb
and last command will be...
Code:
fastboot boot boot.img
try it.

I tried. It doesn't work.
I proceed like this :
1- I've booted the device in recovery mode, connect it to PC and uninstall the device and his driver in to the device manager. I do the same in fastboot mode
2- I've installed the 15 seconds adb ver 1.43. As it is recommanded, I force install of drivers to "Android ADB interface" for recovery mode and "Android Bootloader Interface" for fastboot mode. At this time, adb detects the device via "c:\adb> adb devices"
3-I've extracted the "boot.img" from UL-ASUS Z00E-WW-12 8 5 106-user.zip from Asus Website
4-No problem to proceed with "c:\adb> fastboot boot boot.img" BUT that's all.
--> The device boots, passes the ASUS logo with the powered by android at the bottom", arrives to the second ASUS logo (the one animated), then there are messages "Android upgrading, optimising 1 of 1 app", "Starting apps", then it reboots, and bootloops .... again and again. I have to take out the battery to turn it off.
Have you tried downloading the full ROM image from the ASUS support website again? (yes, download again and try flashing your device again). Usually when it says something about signature verification failed, it is due to the incomplete download of the ROM image (corrupted), or that it has been modified.
Do report back the results.

I've downloaded 3 times the ROM from asus website. The download procees has been interrupted because of internet problem but i was able to resume after. I've even downloaded previous version. I am able to extract the zip file to my computer without error like cooupted file or CRC..
I need to know if other persons have the same problem exactly with this ZE500KL because, i have recently done the same thing with my ZE551ML and i had no problem.

Never heard about this OMNI SKU before.
If someone else has the same exact phone with you with a different SKU (perhaps WW?), you could try asking him to backup the recovery.img on his phone for you to flash. After that, just flash recovery via fastboot and you should be good to go.

Stock recovery (and TWRP):
https://github.com/sabpprook/android_device_asus_ze500kl/releases
Guys I Found The Solution For This Problem :
1-Flash TWRP Recovery From The Link : https://github.com/sabpprook/android_device_asus_ze500kl/releases
2- Wipe Data and Cache And dalvik Cache and Very Important (Wipe System).
3-Flash Back The Stock recovery From The Same Link Above.
4-Flash Your .zip Stock Frimware From The Link : https://www.asus.com/support/Download/39/1/0/20/KsY29RCpsJ2bea9O/32/
5-Please if this Helped You Press Thanks! Button And Enjoy.
The Trick: Stock Recovery Cannot Wipe System But TWRP Can.
P.S: You Cannot Flash The Frimware From TWRP ... It Will Give An Error.
Enjoy

Hi,
I'll test it, and will give feed-back
Thanks
This thread will be for the Canadian version of ZE552KL, and will be updated with specific info relevant to Z012DC model found in Canada (Canada Computers, Staples, other retailers). It has WW SKU number.
It took me a while and some searching to figure all steps out. I also modified Asus N and M firmware to remove version checks. Without this step - i was stuck with error 7 in TWRP. The only difference between Z012D and Z012DC seems to be in Fastboot and ADB drivers, TWRP recovery, system images seem to work well so far.
Steps:
1. Download Fastboot and ADB Drivers. For me usb driver on ZE552KL Asus download page didn't work. Select "Only install driver", you do not need to update your drivers via DRP.
Fastboot driver (for Vendor VID_18D1&PID_D00D): http://drivers.drp.su/Telephone/Hua...03.00/Huawei-FORCED-Allx64-2.00.03.00-drp.exe
ADB Driver (for VID_18D1&PID_D002): http://drivers.drp.su/Telephone/Leshcat/WinAll/Leshcat-WinAll-drp.exe
2. Save the following files on your External SD Card:
Modified M image UL-ASUS_Z012D-WW-13.20.10.152-user.zip
Modified N image UL-ASUS_Z012D-WW-14.2015.1701.8-user.zip
SuperSU - latest version from here
no-verity-opt-encrypt-5-1.zip. Give thanks to @kaffeine1 , without him - we would all be stuck with black screens
3. Save ADB and Fastboot files on your computer, and extract; give thanks to @snowwolf725
4. Download newer recovery (TWRP 3.1.0) from here
5. Unlock bootloader via unofficial unlock method; give thanks to @snowwolf725
6. Get into fastboot by turning off the phone, and pressing volume up + power. Install recovery that you downloaded in step #4:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.1.0-0-Z012D.img
7. Follow the steps this guide by @kaffeine1 . Skip the steps of downloading Nougat and Marshmallow firmware from Asus site, as you have already downloaded and saved both firmwares in Step #2 . Also skip the last step - do not reboot into Nougat, but go back to fastboot mode.
8. Root Nougat - follow steps under #2 here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-3/how-to/twrp-recovery-3-0-2-root-zenfone-3-t3569926
How to update to the latest version of OS:
1. Go to Asus Site, download latest WW image UL-ASUS_Z012D-WW-14.2020.1703.28-user.zip

I noticed that in some cases TWRP doesn't "stick", and gets overridden by default bootloader. Specific check is essentially useless - just to prevent flash of improper image. Just remove the check in the new FW, or use modified FW that has the check removed. I think in your case you can just re-flash TWRP since your bootloader is unlocked?
I tryed several TWRP 3.02 and 3.10 if a boot imge ... if entered bootloader with volum key + power it says all ok but booting never happens... if i enter bootloader trough adb it stucks until i disconnect and reconnect usb cable. when trying to flash. fast boot returns error not have permision and side load error secttion 7 on UL modified or else footer w

thanks a lot for all your help.

I know this is going to sound super dumb, but the unofficial bootloader unlock still triggers the bootup message and voids the warranty, right?
This might be even dumber... But my guess is that the official app to unlock boot loader, does more than unlock,
My guess is that it also register with asus mobile, the fact that for your device has been unlocked...

That's what some manufacturers do, like Motorola and HTC. But from back when I unlocked the BL on my Zenfone 2 Laser, I remember that all it did (as far as I could tell) was unlock the bootloader and set a flag in the bootloader that made it say it was unlocked that couldn't be reversed. No need for fancy registration systems when you can just boot up the phone and take a look.

[UPDATE]: USE THIS ONLY FOR NOUGAT 7 OR 7.1! THERE IS A DIFFERENT GUIDE FOR ANDROID OREO!
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-x/how-to/root-xperia-x-f5122-android-n-34-2-2-47-t3594502 (Written by YasuHamed, not me!)
If you are not interested in android Oreo, or you want to go back to Nougat, this guide is still valid! [End of Update]
This is a guide for newbies or for people that are simply confused. If you have any questions, you can always ask me, and I will reply. but please make sure you haven't made mistakes and do not ask about things that are already stated here. Let's go!
BEFORE DOING ANYTHING, NOTES
-make sure you have installed ADB : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979
-make sure ADB can read your phone with the correct drivers installed. If you have trouble with that, read "DRIVERS" section
!It is absolutely necessary to install the drivers correctly!
-Backup your stuff if you have any, you will need to delete everything from the phone
-Enable USB debugging
-Note: some of these instructions apply to Windows OS only!
-Note: links to downloads have been shortcutted as much possible to make it easier for you!
-Find some stock roms here! https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-x/how-to/sonyx-f5121-downgrade-8-0-0-to-7-1-1-to-t3754986

-Warning: you will lose your warranty!
-I am not responsible for any damage done to your device.
BACKUP DRM KEYS (OR WORKAROUND)
You may want to unlock your bootloader. If you unlock it without backing up the DRM keys, you will lose them. I did that mistake and I regret it. If you already did, there is an alternative solution, skip to step 8.
1) If you are running android 7 nougat, you will need to downgrade to MM. If you are running MM, skip to step 7.
2) You will need to wipe everything before rolling back, so if you have any data back it up
3) Download any stock MM 6.0.1 firmware for the xperia X. You can find one here : https://mega.nz/#!1xRj2CYS Decryption key: !qBVi7yky8AL84eUF3bpTTGQ2YmN0ePCjc-eSDZGIZCI
Watch out: if you have the dual SIM model, F5122, you need to download accordingly!
For more firmwares, check "BEFORE DOING ANYTHING"
4) Download the latest flashtool: http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php
Upon installation, tick on fastboot, flashmode drivers! If it didn't ask you, go to the installation folder and run Flashtool-drivers.exe. Please read "DRIVERS" section!
5) Flash the .tft file
How to flash?
0. Go to "C:\Users\[Your PC Name]\.flashTool\firmwares" , and put your firmware .ftf file in there!
1. Open Flashtool and click on the lightning bolt icon (first one from the left)
2. In the prompt, choose flashmode.
3. Under firmware, click on the version you put (It should probably only be one option)
4. Under wipe , tick everything. Under the others, do not make any changes.
5. Click "Flash"
6. When the popup appears, connect your device. It needs to be powered off, and connected while you are holding the
"volume down" button.
7. Wait for it to finish.
8. Done. Boot up the device, it might take some time to open so don't worry.
Click to collapse
6)If your phone bootloops, try flashing again or a different firmware and make sure you followed the steps correctly.
7) Once your phone successfully boots android MM, use Dirtycow to get your DRM keys out: https://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/universal-dirtycow-based-ta-backup-t3514236
8) If you unlocked the bootloader before backing up your keys, you can use DRM kernel fix. You can get it here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-x/development/kernel-drm-fix-nougat-t3530849 Before using it check out the custom rom that includes this fix and other things.
UNLOCK BOOTLOADER
This is relatively easy and you can follow official sony instructions to do it.
1) Go to your phone settings, developer options, and enable OEM unlock
"But there is no developer options!" -Go to the bottom of your settings, system, about phone, and tap multile times on "Build Number", also at the bottom.
Click to collapse
2) If you haven't already , install ADB fastboot and configure drivers (Link on top )
3) Follow the steps on the Sony website to get your unlock code: https://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/email-verification/
4) After unlocking, a warning message on boot is normal!
INSTALL RECOVERY
Installing TWRP on your xperia X is very important, since you can flash zips and img files so easily, plus wipe, backup and other features.
1) Download the TWRP .img file: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=197369 (Credit: eagleeyetom )
2) Make sure you have USB debugging enabled
3) Open your downloaded twrp folder
4) Run CMD in that folder (shift + right click inside the folder, Open CMD here )
5) Connect your Xperia X to your PC
6) Type these lines:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img [where recovery.img is your twrp file name]
fastboot reboot
7) If no errors, twrp is now installed. Once your phone boots , turn it off,. To access TWRP recovery hold power button and volume down button until the TWRP menu appears.
STOCK ROM, ROOT
If you just want to root and not interested in additional features and tweaks, you can simply flash SU through TWRP to get your phone rooted.
Note: Current best stock ROM available: 7.1.1 (252) - better features than older ver, and good battery life.
0) Install your desired stock firmware using the exact same previous instructions, (under DRM section) with flashtool.
1) Download SuperSu
Or magisk, using YasuHamed guide mentioned on top, but I have not tested with anything other than Oreo 8.0
Use magisk if you want more stability / root features (like hide root from apps, modules )
2) copy it anywhere on your phone
3) Run TWRP
4) Tap on install
4) Flash the file
5) Reboot, you are now rooted
6) Insert your DRM keys if you have them
Custom ROMS
After unlocking the bootloader and installing TWRP this is the best way to go in order to get full root, tweaks.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-x/development/rom-xperia-x-pexorom-v1-0-0-f5122-f5121-t3590552
^ This is a very good custom ROM made by prmk74. You can see its features in his thread.
1) Download the rom and copy it to your phone
2) Run TWRP
note: It is recommended to wipe dalvik, cache, data ( your storage partition doesn't need to be wiped)
3) Tap install, find your downloaded file and execute
note: It is recommended to wipe dalvik, cache, data ( your storage partition doesn't need to be wiped)
4) Follow on-screen instructions, do not stop the booting after finishing the installation, it will take some time
5) Insert your DRM keys if you have them
6) For those who lost their keys: Now the functions like vivid image mode are working properly.
DRIVERS
For Windows 8/8.1/10 users, how to solve driver problems:
1) Press the Windows key + R together and in the ‘Run’ box type: shutdown.exe /r /o /f /t 00
– Now make the following selections to boot into the Start Up Setting Screen: Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Start Up Settings > Restart
– Then, when the machine restarts, select number 7 i.e. “Disable driver signature enforcement”. Your machine will start with Driver signing enforcement disabled until the next reboot.
B) Now you can install the Flashtool drivers. Go to the flashtool install location and run the drivers.exe again, check fastboot and flashmode
– Windows will warn that the driver is not signed and will require you to confirm the installation.
– Once the installation is complete, reboot the machine
TO CONCLUDE:
This is what you may want to do to get the most out of your new xperia x:
1) Backup DRM
2) Unlock BL
3) Install TWRP
4) Flash Persian (or a different rom) through TWRP (And subscribe to the thread so you receive updates)
5) Restore DRM

These USB drivers are very annoying to work with. I got mine to finally work using a program called ADB driver installer. http://adbdriver.com/downloads/ Choose automated installation and try what I said. I believe it should fix your problem, after installing the drivers reboot and flash again.
Other than that, I have to ask are you 1000% sure you used the exact commands?
I saw another thread someone mistook
"flash recovery recovery.img" for "flash recovery.img"
"recovery" should be included before the recovery file name

Well titanium backup can assure you but I don't see why you wouldn't have full root... You need an app uninstaller to uninstall bloatware, it can't be done through the settings you know that right
Hi guys,
I am using Zenfone Max Pro M2. I wanted to install a custom rom and I tried to unlock bootloader but I unlocked it through official unlocktool. Now I can't flash anything or send any command through fastboot, whenever I do then it restarts the device.
When I try to keep the fastboot command running and then connect phone - it throws errors like "Fail - Too many links", "Fail - Write to device fail (No such file or directory)" or "Fail- Unknown command".
I tried unlocking bootloader with the unofficial way provided in https://forum.xda-developers.com/max-pro-m2/how-to/unlook-bootloader-root-asus-zenfone-max-t3885457
but it isn't working either, any fastboot command is rebooting the device although bootloader is unlocked.
How do I fix this?
EDIT: Things I have tried:
- Changing USB Cable and Port
- Reinstalling ADB and device driver
- Reunlocking bootloader from UnlockTool (don't know why I did that again)
- Unofficial way to unlock bootloader
None of it helped.
Thanks

Did ur unlocking bootloader succeed?
Did you try relocking the bootloader ?
1) Try relocking the bootloader using the methods described here :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/max-pro-m2/how-to/unroot-relock-bootloader-max-pro-m2-t3885870
See if it successfully relocks...
If it does, then next time unlock using the unofficial method only...
2) If not then maybe try contacting ASUS... Tweet them on Twitter... Companies usually respond very fast on Twitter, since their reputations are at stake...
3) All else fails then try rooting it using something like Kingroot... Once rooted, flash TWRP Recovery using Flashify... then flash any custom ROM u want...
I hope your problem gets solved... Next time be a little more cautious when taking such a risky step... See what are all the options you have before jumping into something...

Tried everything except 2, none worked. I'll drop them a query over twitter like you say, let's see what their reply is.
I am on stock recovery, non working bootloader but unlocked, and stock rom unrooted.
I think Pie update may give some insight on fixing this.

I guess it did because when I reboot it I get that bootloader unlocked splash screen.

I see.. did u've try using another laptop/pc? Sometimes antivirus blocking the tools that are needed for unlocking bootloader..

Hey you said phone is encrypted ? Maybe this might work :
1) Download and install the latest Magisk Manager apk
2) Extract boot.img from stock firmware
3) Put boot.img in your internal storage and open magisk app.
4) Click on install and select patch boot Image.
5) Select stock boot.img file placed in phone memory.
6) Magisk will automatically patch the stock Image and this patched image can be installed using fastboot using this command:
fastboot flash boot patched_boot.img
This will root your phone. After that you can install Flashify to flash TWRP or PBRP
Note:
- This method is highly experimental... There are 50% chances of bootloop. I would not have recommended this method, but situation seems to demand it.
- Your data will most probably be formatted, so keep a backup.
- If it falls in a bootloop, then you need to flash original stock firmware to restore your phone.

Who came up with this method, but removed it from the main guide, because of being experimental... (I guess)

After going through the errors, I strongly believe that the problem is with your drivers. If reinstalling doesn't works, try a different pc. If your pc detects your device on MTP or your are able to perform adb operations without any hassle, it's not the problem with your phone.
You can decrypt the device only after flashing custom recovery.

Yes this method is highly experimental. Also in this situation, he cannot use any fastboot commands. So this method won't work

This method didn't work, as fastboot isn't accepting any command. I tried giving command before connecting phone and then connecting, it gives me error of "File size is more than max allowed".
So is it done?

I've the same problem too. Let me know if you've configure it out. Thanks.
Okay @Mr147, I've fix this. I checked Windows Update and there was a pending ASUS driver update. I downloaded it and now I can use the fastboot commands.
Anyone that can fix this problem? I also experience this.

Hi guys,
I am using Zenfone Max Pro M2.
Thanks

I suggest to Unlock with unofficial step, or read the post https://www.blocknesia.com/2019/04/unlock-bootloader-dan-install-twrp-asus-zenfone-max-pro-m2.html
