send to kindle windows exe is awesome...http://www.addictivetips.com/window...ll-extension-for-sending-documents-to-kindle/
I wondered if I could use this service to send "stuff" to my Kindle... NOTE: this is strictly proof of concept.
first try -
I took AmazonSystemApps.zip (from their stock unrooted image) and converted it to AmazonSystemApps.PDF which registers at 44MB sent it to the kindle.. it uploaded fine... it was processed by Amazon and failed --
May not be possible without somehow bypassing Amazon's certificate stuff -- i do not expect it to succeed considering Paul Obriens recent post on the Video mega-security stuff.
1. I sent a "PDF"
2. It was under 50MB
Here is what I got from Amazon -
Dear Customer,
The following document, sent at 03:27 PM on Fri, Jan 13, 2012 GMT, could not be delivered to the Kindle you sent to:
* amazonsystemapps
Make sure the document your sent is of supported file type
Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx)
Rich Text Format (.rtf)
Text (.txt) documents
Mobi book
Images that are of type JPEGs (.jpg), GIFs (.gif), Bitmaps (.bmp), and PNG images (.png)
Adobe PDF (.pdf) can be converted to Kindle format and delivered on an experimental basis
Make sure each document sent is less than 50MB in size.

now i am going to try something simpler...
file expert from the market has integrated ftp & http server
i used the ftp server to copy files directly to the kf (also to system partitions)
It is really hard to figure out what the OP is trying to do, perhaps confusing things with the word Windows.
If he is just trying to send files to his KF, using something like AndFTP or any number of other apps with file transfer capabilities works fine.
I move most of my sideloaded apps using AndFTP between my KF and my NAS device both from inside the house and from the Internet using Secure SFTP.

When I found out about this
http://www.addictivetips.com/window...ll-extension-for-sending-documents-to-kindle/
I installed it on my desktop and then wondered if I can send non-documents to my kindle -
First I wanted to see if converting file format will work..
And the third attempt just failed as I changed JF Updater.apk to JF Updater.doc and Amazon caught it fast.
My intent is to send zips apks and other stuff through this send to kindle service.. painfully clear and simple...
this is for proof of concept purposes only...
update 3
Using JFUpdater.apk (Proof of Concept) which I converted into other formats
JFUpdater.doc failed...
then I reconverted that to JFUpdater.pdf and it failed.
I then tried JFUpdater.azw which is Kindle format and that failed...
which means they are failing because they are signed and encrypted. Amazon told me that they have "no way of inspecting documents to know why they do not pass" which I know is obviously a lie...
So now my next intent is to find out how to make an encrypted document become read/write or otherwise appear as unencrypted and unsigned to the amazon servers -
I installed "[ROM] CM7 Barebones 03-12-2012" on my kindle fire on 03-14
and it have been working great.
It can play 1080p youtube movie very smoothly.
But there is one problem for me.
I tried MAC address change described in
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1406845
but I could not change MAC address on CM7 barebone.
I could change MAC address on MIUI by the same method.
So I cannot install the great CM7 barebone on my second kindle fire
used in same subnet.
I will appreciate if anyone answer how to change the MAC address
on CM7 barebone 03-12-2012.
Best regards
would try to use the method at post #25 of the thread you linked to
the attched file in post #26 should work for your needs ...
Thanks and one more question
Dear b63
Thank you very much for your answer.
I'm going to try #25 method in the same thread.
Can I ask another question if possible ?
How can I see the contents of the file "system.ext4.win" saved by TWRP ?
Is there an easy method to see them on Windows PC without restoring the file
into kindle fire again ?
#### self answer ####
A ~~~~.win file is either .tar or .tgz depending on the compression selected at saving.
Now I can see the contents.
I'm sorry for my question easily solved by the article search.
glad to help ...

Any one can help to root 6.3 OS??
There are two options:
1) the easy way - Kindle Fire Utility: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399889
2) the more hands on way - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1568340
As mentioned In the title, all traditional Chinese word appear as "?" In the file manager and gallery. Modern Chinese appear fine though.
This is strange as nexus comes preinstalled with Google pin ying, a Chinese input method .
Is there a way I can make it read Chinese letters?
Like download a language pack or something?
My Nexus 7 reads Chinese (both Traditional & Simplified) just fine. Are you sure you just didn't use an obsolete encoding format?

I was just about to add a comment here, you beat me to it.
I notice some strange things. Yes it is able to read Chinese in browser.
Able to type using pin yin also.
I found out the cause. All the files with Chinese name I copied to this tab using file manager HD and USB on the go. Some how all the Chinese characters got converted to "?"
Strange because in file manager HD, I can rename files to Chinese n they are recognized by the gallery. So it should be able to read.
Using file manager phone version n USB otg, the files are OK on my international sgs2.
Hey everyone,
i tried to install google play store by this instructions for HDX7 (german website: android-hilfe . de / amazon-kindle-fire-hdx-7-forum / 510826-google-playstore-fuer-hdx . html (can't post links))
Everything works fine till point 6 (replace the service.odex at /system/framework/). While replacing this file with root explorer, kindle shows the bootscreen (kindle - grey, fire - ogrange). Thats it. After rebooting the device, it will shows this screen forever.
Did I destoryed my device? Can anyone help?
Thanks.
