[Q] Any hope that this device could grant us an unlocked bootloader? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answers

saw this and wondered is a more advanced dev has any insights

It will not unlock the bootloader on the GS-935A - unlock feature is not supported. All it will do for our model is Write firmware, read/write EFS, read/write QCN and read/write SEC

[Guide] Best way to protect your Bootloader and internal security

Warning: This guide recommends the user to backup their data as this process includes an automated wipe
Hello XDA,
I'm suggesting this Tutorial for anyone aware of another person flashing a system on the phone, and I do not recommend it for TWRP users,
unlock bootloader using "fastboot flashing unlock"
do not run the fastboot critical unlock command if you did then relock it,
when you use your phone without magisk installed you won't be able to edit the OEM unlocking option from developer options.
when you install magisk the option OEM unlocking in developer options can be edited and switched off
switch off OEM unlocking option in dev options as long as long as you didn't unlock critical in the bootloader.
while the "critical partition is locked" this will not allow you to flash a full system from google website
only use OTA using recovery when you update
make sure you enable OEM unlocking option in dev option when you make internal partition changes
this method may be a wall against a full system change from thefts as when someone tries to flash a message will pop saying failed to update
even if someone tries to unlock the critical partitions using fastboot unlock_critical it will display failed as you disabled the OEM unlocking option from developer options.
if someone tries to factory reset from recovery this should trigger FRP ( factory reset protection) which will ask about the google account used before that factory reset.
I hope this somehow protects unlocked bootloader phones from any external changes without vulnerabilities or exploits,
Cheers. :fingers-crossed:

Can I backup FRP unlock code?

Dear guy
After saved my Mate9 from Phone Locked, FRP locked, and no system (with Firmware Finder). I wonder if we can backup FRP unlock code (like Bootloader unlock code). Is there any tool help?
Thanks.

Yeah, but there is no unlock code.
You can backup frp partition with unlock status if TWRP is supporting. Or with root you can copy this partition via file browser.

Thanks. But yesterday, after I restored oeminfo partition, my phone is locked bootloader again, FRP locked, no system, I only can access fasboot mode (but can not do anything cause FRP lock) and erecovery. I prepaired to buy credit from funkeyhuawei or DC-unlock, but I tried https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/funky-huawei-erecovery-solution-100-t3620165. And then I saved my phone for free.

Need help 918

Hello friends,
Need help here. I am willing to buy T-mobile variant of V20. Its on firmware H91010t march security update. I searched all over the forum for the last one hour but could not get the clear cut answer. If this device can be bootloader unlocked. Can I downgrade to any unlockable older version and unlock the bootloader or now its not possible? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Yeah the H918 is bootloader unlockable, however you need to use a root exploit in order to utilize it as there are limited fastboot commands available.
If you're not familiar with Linux though you should wait for the automated version of the exploit to be released so you can make sure you don't mess anything up.

Thanks bro. Please clarify one more thing. It says we must have bootloader unlocked before proceeding this process. So T-mobile varient comes boot loader unlocked?

It comes locked, but it can still (and must) use fastboot oem unlock to unlock the bootloader (the reason exploits are needed is because the h918 fastboot can not flash anything). As usual fastboot oem unlock will factory reset the device so make backups.
As far as rolling back, don't rollback too far or youll brick: just roll back to the version explictly named in the lafsploit guide.
you must enable developer mode and turn on usb debugging <~~~~ in about phone section find the Build number and click it 6-7 times to enable the developer mode option. after that follow the fastboot oem unlocked commands, after unlocking the bootloader. if you want to roll back on firmware DO NOT go before H91810p or you will brick your phone, so your options are h91810p ,q ,r,s, or t which your on. follow the lglaf h918 information in the xda forums. go into search and type lglaf h918. hope this helps

Missing files M2 Note Unlock Bootloader

Does somebody have the files required to unlock the bootloader? There are not avaible anymore in the thread.

[Question] Unlocking Bootloader using root

I know that some variants can't be unlocked,
but what if we downgrade with lgup and edz files, root using an exploit usable on the downgraded version, and then use su to dd an unlocked bootloader (extracted from a lucky guy that had the unlock.bin from lgdevs for the same model). Will it not boot because of imei or unique device ID ? Or worse the bootloader partition isn't r/w from the root ? Just asking because I don't really know how work the protection on Android.
