Hello all, I'm using a G930T with the Verizon Stang ROM on ATT network. Everything is running great except my Data signal.
I'm only getting "H" and rarely "H+".
I changed my APN settings to ATT.
I used ODIN to flash the TMobile PK1 Modem which helped but not completely fixed it.
The OP of the Stang thread said that I need an ATT "apn.config" file from an ATT ROM and that I would also need to change the permission of it to "0644"
Could anyone help me out or point me in the right direction?

Hi,
I have SGH-M919V and its unlocked.
I am on Bell and want to use LTE. But this model has LTE disabled. when i enable it, cant make phone calls.
I cant seem to flash T mobile modem via odin. there is this secure boot issue. the AUTH: Fails.
I was thinking of installing Bell SGH-I337M rom on my phone. Is that possible? If so, how do I go about doing it?
Thanks!
Since you have a T-Mobile variant you should ask in the sgs4 tmobile forum...
However your problem with lte/phonecalls is likely just an APN issue
To further assist we would need to know which carrier you are using the device on

Hey. thank you for the reply, I really appreciate it.
I've been asking a lot there. No one is answering.
Please help me out, please.
My phone is Canadian variant, originally from WindMobile - SGH-m919V. Wind uses Tmobile freq. = 1700/2100 (AWS) only. No LTE.
I got it unlocked two days ago, and switched over to Bell carrier. Bell uses the other freq and LTE.
When I do force LTE by *#2263# - and enable all LTE, i get LTE speeds. But NO calling or texting. this is with the original Windmobile stock rom. No modification. No root.
I tried to flash Tmobile modem via odin 3.07, didnt work. I used the phone button to load the modem.bin. It gave me AUTH: Fail, secure check fail.
I agree, wrong forum, but we are here to please....
if you have a M919V then you would flash the rom you want, before you boot, flash a tmo m919V kernel, it will boot, manually add your apn settings for your device, it will work with data/wifi/calls.
Good luck....
Hi, im sorry for posting in this forum.
so if I want to flash the bell rom - I337M stock original rom , how do I flash it without booting??
And then how would I flash the tmobile kernel so then I can boot??
I dont mind keeping my current rom - wind stock. But, I want to be able to use LTE like how tmobile has pentaband 3g plus lte.
:/ .
Hello,
I have a 900T that I am using on ATT network.
Where is the ATT modem that I can install?
It currently has the T-Mobile NK2 baseband.
thanks haeffnkr
You don't need to install an att modem. Just update the APN and you're good to go (assuming your phone is unlocked)
Hi,
Yes I am getting connected to the ATT network with tmobile modems but....
I am getting download speeds under what my ATT S4 was doing and my signal drops from time to time.
I would really like to use the ATT modem and see what difference it makes.
Does anyone have a link the the ATT S5 modems?
thanks haeffnkr

Hello,
You can either extract them from the stock ROM or search the SM-G900A forums.
I did a quick search and got this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2868904
thanks I did not find that when I searched.
Any chance you can find the - G900AUCU2AOA1 version
thanks again haeffnkr
Before I rooted my verizon galaxy s5 I was able to use ATT sim cards but the phone would not get any service whatsoever with a tmobile sim or metro pcs sim. Everyone i spoke to at least was able to connect to the tmobile or metro pcs network, even if they were having data issues...but I was not even able to get a network signal. Finally, I rooted the phone and am using a tmobile rom thinking that may help. But no luck. For some reason my phone will not register itself on tmobile or metro pcs, Not even to just connecto to the network to make phone calls. I tried 2 different tomible roms and i think an att rom and no luck whatsoever. Anybody else experience this issue? Is there a root function or service menu that I need to access to enable the proper band? Is rooting the phone even going to change anything? Makes no sense how every other verizon s5 out there has no problem connecting to tmobile or metro but I have the only one. Ive scoured the forums and have yet to find any answer....thoughts? Oh, I also tried every APN settings combination imaginable. Even other carriers just because I was getting nowhere with the tmobile and metro APNs.
Quite a lot of your thread made absolutely no sense, so I'm not sure if this will help.
Look for a tar.md5 that contains the stock modem partition for the Verizon S5, and flash it through Odin.
Are you bootloader unlocked? I would just flash a generic klte rom, like Cyanogenmod, instead of flashing an ATT or T-Mobile rom.

According to a few people i spoke with the root for verizon s5 can only accept TW roms. And to clear up anything that doesnt make sense. my verizon s5 will not get any service with tmobile or metro. Works fine with att. So i decided to root. After rooting still no luck. However, before I rooted I was getting no bars at all. After rooting I was actually getting service bars but still would not get any actual service. I tried every APN setting I could find and still no luck. Thats all. I will try your advice as far as flashing the tar.md5 and let you know.

There was a bootloader unlock exploit released - it allows any rom to be flashed. It's been in the top development posts for weeks. Go check that out, and you can flash cyanogenmod.
I actually am in a similiar situation except I am already on CM13 using a previously Verizon S5, I just started Tmobile service yesterday and in general I can make calls but data is rather inconsistent. Example right now when I make it call it falls down to 3g (Normal) but when I disconnect it tries to connect to H+ then 3G but all of them don't supply it data so it just swaps around 3G LTE and H+ and I have to airplane mode on/off to fix it. So this person may still have issues using CM13. I did already go over the APN information with people from TMobile and from post around the web. Does anyone think that flashing the Tmobile s5 modem stuff will fix this?
you just need to get the correct APN settings

I've tried the correct son settings. It didn't work. I used the settings found online for T-Mobile. I called T-Mobile. Non of the settings worked. I flashed back the the stock rom. No joy. flashed a verizon s5 rom again. No joy. I am starting to think that this is the only verizon s5 that won't allow t to register on T-Mobile's network.
So Im looking for a way to enable native tethering on my phone and after a lot searching I flashed the G935U firmware. After flashing the G935U firmware on my G935V, my data stopped working. Call and text works fine but no data. It doesn't even show the 4G LTE symbol in status bar.
I am currently using Straight Talk BYOP.
Any help would be much appreciated and thank you!

Thats the crazy part! I cant edit it after flashing the U firmware. But the APN settings are the same from when it was still on the V firmware. Its just now the 4G LTE doesnt work. I downloaded some 4G enabler from the play store that took me to some hidden settings to change between GSM, CDMA, and about 12 other variants of similar nature. After doing so the only one that worked was the CDMA (prl) which activated 3G network. But LTE CDMA (prl) didnt work which was what it was on I think.

add a new APN with tour settings. emable it... and try global mode
Nope still no go...its not even showing 3G at the momemnt
I tried every apn/preferred network type combination and wasn't able to get anything better than 3G. So I just got done flashing the G935V firmware back and now 4G LTE is working. Anyway I can use hotspot on G935V firmware?
SOLVED!
So after contacting straight talk it seems my APN settings where to blame.
Upon opening the APN, I had to change APN from "vzwinternet" to "tracfone.vzwentp." Then save and make sure network mode was set to LTE/CDMA instead of global.
I noticed it returns to default "vzwinternet" after flashing any firmware thus making me have to put it back in. But that's no problem at all. Everything is currenly working and I now have tethering THANK YOU FOR THE HELP

G935V to G935U for AT&T
I have the Verizon S7 Edge G935V working on straight talk with their AT&T sim.
Had to change from CDMA to GSM then add the new APN settings.
The problem I have is the G935V doesn't have LTE band 17 which is used in my area.
My Nexus 5 with same sim using LTE Discovery app confirms band 17 but with S7 Edge G935V
I don't get it but a different connection and its very weak.
I would like to give this G935V to G935U a try. My S7 Edge G935V has Android 8.0
I have downloaded ODIN, Samsung S7 Edge drivers, and G935U w/Android 8.0 (AT&T) July 24, 2018
Has anyone done this recently on a G935V with Android 8.0 on it?
Will I get LTE band 17?
Do I loose any CDMA capabilities should I want to try it?
What's the down side of doing this?
How would I continue to get updates?
Thanks,
Ken

Hey guys, I could use a little help here. I've done some firmware flashing on phones years ago, so I'm not a total noob, just haven't needed to in a long time.
Anyway, I recently picked up an unlocked Sprint S7 edge (was a really good deal) and I'm trying to use it with Metro now. The issue is this. If I set the network to GSM mode, I can make phone calls just fine, but data is totally not functioning. If I switch it to LTE/CDMA mode, the data works beautifully, but I can't make or receive any phone calls. It just instantly hangs up if I try to dial out or goes to voicemail if someone calls me.
I've activated the IMEI with my carrier and verified that the phone is indeed unlocked. I'm guessing this is just some annoying Sprint bug put in there to make the phone not work right on other providers. Any ideas what needs to be done? Do I need to run a third-party ROM, flash a different modem to it? Something else?
I really appreciate any tips here.
What firmware is the phone running?

Hi Ivpre,
Thanks for responding. The phone is running Software version G935PVPU6BRD2, baseband version G935PVPU6BRD2, it's HW revision 7.0 and Android 7.0. Kernel version is 3.18.31-12623509.
I've tried using a few SM-G935U ROMs but they all have failed so far and left the phone in a boot loop. Only by reflashing a Sprint ROM am I able to successfully flash it.
I assume I'm just not selecting or finding a ROM that the same or newer version, as I've read about the downgrade issues with the bootloader. Any idea how to match one? I'd be fine with pretty much any ATT/T-Mobile/Metro ROM since that should fix my issue for the time being. A factory unlocked ROM would be nice though.
I have a T-Mobile Sim (same network Metro uses) in my unlocked Sprint S7 Edge. Network mode is set to Automatic and everything works fine.
Did you Add the APN for T-Mobile? I had to add the T-Mobile APN https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-28006
And the ALSO add a second APN named internet, with no other values changed. The 2nd one is the one selected, not sure why, but it works that way.
I would like to flash a T-Mobile Rom or the U Rom but they are on Baseband 4, which will not work since our phones are now on Baseband 6(5th number from the right in the firmware version.)
Did you try changing the APN settings?

So you are using the Sprint firmware on T-Mobile? Everything works well? I'm thinking of jumping to cricket this summer, but one phone is stuck on b5 (the other is still rocking 4), so I was a little worried. So basically you just put in the SIM card and added the APN's?

Yes it was working fine with a T-Mobile Sim card and edited APN's. It is now back on Sprint because T-Mobile coverage is poor/non existent inside my work. I will be porting one of my SERO lines to T-Mobile but keeping one with Sprint. T-Mobile only uses Band 2 and 4 where I live, If you live somewhere that has band 12, it may not be unlocked in the Sprint Firmware.
