So there is a question - is there any partitions that cant be seen even by root or Recovery (example TWRP). I know that 16gb model has only 10.6 gb available to user. And with root i could see what partitions and how much of those 5.4 gb is used. But when i did full wipe with twrp, and not a single folder was left (TWRP showed totally empty device), i connected my g2 to computer. Window opened as usual and i saw the same 10.6 gb available, only every single bit of it now was free But where is rest 5.6 gb after all?
The other 5.4 gb of space is used for all the system partitions... system, modem, sbl (bootloader), kernel, recovery... and so.

Ive been flashing for a while now. Just recent my phone got stuck on the "Galaxy S4" screen amd I had to restart like 15 times and reflash a few times before it booted into the rom. Now I see that I only have 3.5GB of internal space left. Even off od a fresh flash with a complete format. I even fomatted all data in TWRP amd all that. How do I get my space back?
Do I use odin and check off the repartition tab?

Do not mess with odin and check repartition. This will do nothing but brick your phone. If any thing, use your custom recovery and format storage, but be prepared to lose everything. First find out what's taking up all the space.

I've heard of problems after formatting /data in twrp on this device. You may consider flashing back to stock and starting over
Keep in mind that the total internal storage available includes your /data partition as well as your internal SDCard (/data/media/). TWRP will not format your internal SDCard unless you explicitly tell it to. Check out the stuff on your SDCard and see if it's eating up space (like a nandroid backup for example that can take up over 2.5gb of space!)
If still unresolved, I would do these steps:
- Backup your internal SDCard to your computer, and otherwise backup everything (nandroid, data backup, what-have-you) to your computer
- Do a simple wipe-data with TWRP
- Use Odin to return to MDL stock (or Canadian equivalent)
- Use stock recovery to wipe your data (this should also wipe SDCard)
- Root with motochopper, install custom recovery, install rom, etc.
To avoid accidentally downloading any OTA updates, I would recommend simply removing your SIM card during all this

I have Samsung Galaxy s7 edge(SM-G935FD) Indian edition.
My twrp can't read internal storage when i click select storage it shows 0mb. I can still access my otg partition. I cannot also format any partition as it shows cannot mount /data.
I have tried following things without success-:
1)I have tried multiple versions of twrp.
2)Flashed no-verity-opt-encrypt zip using otg
3)Flashed complete stock firmware multiple times & re-flashed twrp.
Note-: i have flashed nogut beta but before installing twrp i reverted to stock by flashing all 4 files of firmware including bp.
Added a picture of twrp log(can't save screenshot as internal storage isn't mounting)
You have to do wipe/format data/yes. Then reboot back into twrp. After that you flash no drmverity/supersu.
I dumdumd. I've gotten myself into a jam with my Elsa H918. I installed lineage OS and that went just fine. I'm don't know the exact way to flash anything so I'm just going for it. (I'M the the type that learns more from mistakes than success') So I thinking pre dsl days 56k dialup killing virus' then reinstall all after writing zeros to hard drive....Anyways..
I'm in twrp recovery after flashing Gaps... I see all these buttons and I'm like what does this button do, right? Lol. So I get to wiping and resizing and formating and got all partitons to format and resize into fat32 on ext4 except the dalvik/art partition. It just would not format. So I do the math of all the partitions. I'm like I'm 7,275mb short thinking that hmmm that can't be good for a cache to have almost 7.5 gigs of data. I'll back up a bit....
So when I started with the complete Lineage OS 7.1.1 install I messed up and just picked the gaps kernel that was in my downloads folder from lineage OS and just flashed it.
I was then in a loop. So I get back to recovery twrp and set about wiping to do the Lineage OS clean install this time with no traces of Nougat.
I write all the partitions and the numbers before I start using TWRP
Partiton Size....
Dalvik/Art invalid
System Size 0 mb
Data 52,528 mb
Internal Storage invalid
Cache 1,193 mb
I started converting and changing the file system.
Fat32
Dalvik failed invalid partion
System success ext4
Data success ext4
Internal storage failed invalid partition
Cache success ext4
Resizing
Dalvk/Art failed
System success
Data success
Internal storage failed
Cache success
Partiton resize on fat32
system from 0mb to 5,416mb
Data from 52,528mb to 55,528mb.
Cache 1,193mb which stayed the same.
Dalvik/Art invalid
Internal invalid
5,416mb+55,528mb+1,193mb=62,137mb
60.680gigs of accountable space.....
But..... this is most likely where my obsession kicked in+distracted=dumdumd
At the I ran the math I was multitasking reading, research, text messages, trying to use Google play store on a new fresh unused Google account with my new v20 rooted with a new Lineage OS 14.1 Android v7.1.1 (Google is being very difficult letting me onto the damn playstore- it would not see/recognize my device after I've already logged into gmail, accounts, google,Plus,Drive)
I came up with thinking of was 7,275mb short because
If 0 mb being used by system, data was using 52,528mb, and cache was using 1,193mb then I'm missing 6,279mb out of 58,900mb
Obsessed with Dalvik/Art cache might be an old Nougat OS partition I set about trying to format and resize it in. holding out on my 6 gigs
DALVIK CACHE----
Wipe success
Fat32 format failed
F2fs formating
and it formated for over 70minutes
the last 20minuts I tried keeping Elsa cooled down waiting a finalize on the format....... 90 minutes total
I finally pulled the battery due to no progressive data and the core temp (hothot)
I've gottwn recovery only once since last night TWRP but it was just the wallpaper state.
SO... I currently the phone with give me the Imei information with up volume+power numerously.
Volume down+power only once.
Power button
Quick .001 second flash of the LG Android gif
Then the orange boot warning for 4 seconds followed by the LG wallpaper
And that's it
:/
I've got a video of the data from CP

Alright bro so first off their is literally no reason to change anything with partitions in TWRP. If Dual Booting you simply choose a primary ROM (stock rooted, AOSP, or AOKP) my suggestion if you like RR use it primary. Now the system partition will hold 1 stock ROM and 1 non stock ROM (dual boot manager will show you this in free space available simple math from there). Now after you set kernel and update ramdisk in your primary ROM chosen, you patch any all flashable zips for every installation. Once patched if it uses Aroma you have to flash that patch zip into TWRP not dual boot app install. Updates, mods and every flash has to be patched for where you want it to flash too. If you want to dual boot multiple Roms I suggest using data partition or external SD because larger partitions. Obviously you have to be in primary ROM to switch Roms from reboot or you can use dual boot utilities zip install in TWRP to switch as well. Also as of yesterday Open Gapps has a Google sign issue ATM so use dynamic Gapps in XDA for all Gapps except stock Roms. Hope I helped, changing partitions is dangerous and honestly not needed with external SD and 64 GB internal storage....But to each their own.
I installed twrp using adb in my lenovo k4 note (A7010a48) after which the internal memory of my device reduced to 450 mb from 16 GB and I installed official resurrection remix in it. Though the storage option from settings shows 16 GB memory out of which 14 GB is used by system while in twrp it shows only 450 mb. Now due to this I would like to reinstall my stock ROM and stock recovery and get my storage and volte back. Please tell me if there are any ways. Also when I try to open my recovery there is a black screen only. Thanks in advance.
Actually that happened for me too.. I found that it happens when I unlock the bootloader, boot to recovery , deleting "boot_from_recovery.p" and WITHOUT flashing super su nor booting to system, directly flashing any other twrp recovery or wiping the Dalvik cache, system, data, the recovery finds our sdcard (internal storage) partition as 774 MB or in your case 450 MB. So to get rid of these things, flash s232 firmware again unlock bootloader, boot to recovery, delete the file "boot from recovery.p", flash SuperSU, clear Dalvik cache and cache, let the phone boot to system ( normal startup) and then reboot to recovery and voila! You will find internal storage as usual .:good:

perform factory reset in twrp recovery, to fix that issue

Is there any way I can skip flashing the firmware and do this with the custom rom installed? Also, where is the "boot_from_recovery.p" file located? xda says /system but I can't find it there.

Try factory resetting from twrp as mohan mentioned above.. if it did not worked, probably that's the only way.
Figured out how to get rid of this issue: After installing stock rom, unlocking bootloader and flashing TWRP through ADB: you have to reboot into system (stock ROM), go through the setup and only then are you able to go back into TWRP to wipe and flash the custom ROM of your choice (in this case RR, without having full internal storage).
regarding internal storage issue
Is your solution will fix my internal storage problem
Fixed it for me so yes
While flashing RR, I also ended up in the same position. Here's how I fixed it:
1) Post flashing RR, goto bootloader and flash recovery-mohan-n.img
2) reboot to recovery
3) click on wipe and then select format data (option next to advance wipe).
4) Once format is complete, go back to main screen and Reboot to system.
Hence the problem shall be resolved.
PLS HELP!!!

I formatted it now i have more space free.....But internal storage is not detected.....I cannot take screenshots and all ....i cannot open camera ....and when i open file manager its failing to detect internal storage.........
I recently reflashed my sm-t510 with the latest stock rom (1/2021 BTU release) and followed the Magisk instructions to root it (patch AP and reflash with Odin). Upon rebooting into Magisk, the tablet shows 16gb of storage instead of the 32gb installed. I have tried this process twice and reached the same result.
Could I fix this in TWRP while keeping my root status or could I use something like parted or gdisk to manually fix it over adb?
I did something similar and I'm sitting at 1.8 GB of total hard drive space down from 32 GB.
Ah, I saw your thread but wasn't sure if our issues were similar so I created a new thread.
I am going to attempt to flash Magendanz's TWRP recovery to my tablet today. I think that will remove my Magisk-rooted system, so I may have to do some more fiddling.
So flashing TWRP to AP with Odin will repair the partition size.
Under the "Wipe" > "Advanced Wipe" option select "Data" and and tap "Resize." Worked without a hitch on my tablet; rebooted and settings showed the full 32gb.
It did remove the Magisk root (because TWRP replaced the Magisk-patched recovery) but it turned out that was easy to flash from TWRP:
- Boot to TWRP
- Format data
- Install Multidisabler
- Format data again just to be safe
- Reboot tablet, go back into TWRP
- Flash Magisk.zip
- Profit
