Well you should now...do not try to root it with programs like king root or so....just use odin...is the best option
Yes it is possible...you have to flash cwm recovery and google "root.zip" ..wach some videos and you will see...it's eazy

Hello everybody. New Android user here. I have an Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-i9500 and need help with rooting.
Android version: 4.2.2
Kernel Version: 3.4.5-526212
Build Number: JDQ39.I9500XXUAMDK
Can you redirect me to a thread that can root my device. I 've tried SuperOneClick and Motochopper, none helped.
I looked for it on the web before posting here, I found topics about "M919UVUAMDL" but I have no idea what that is and I don't want to harm my phone. If you could help me or redirect me to a thread that can help me, I would be really glad. Also I would rather the easiest way if possible, thanks..

The root methods you have listed are intended for older versions. The only functioning NC1 root method is towelroot. Please check the all things NC1 thread prior to posting. All info can be found there. The person above has given the link to towelroot. If you go to the galaxy s5 forums, you can get a tutorial on it, but it's pretty straightforward. Enjoy your rooted device.
Remember that the phone has a locked boot loader. So, the stock kernel and recovery cannot be replaced. The only working recovery is safestrap. There is also restrictions on the Roms that can be flashed.

Hi, I recently bought a second-hand Samsung Galaxy S4 (Screen is cracked the bottom + back camera also cracked.. it was only $10).
I want know what the best way to root this phone is. The most common tutorials I have seen are for GT-I9505 but the one I have is GT-I9506, not sure if it makes a massive difference but better safe than sorry. I am looking to root this phone and flash stock android on it, then get Xposed Framework. I'd appreciate any suggestions! Really dislike TouchWiz.

You could try this.
But you don't actually have to root it. You can flash a custom recovery and then flash a custom rom which is already rooted.
You only have to root it if you have to backup apps.
