Xperia Z1′s fourth firmware update (14.1.G.2.213)

The firmware version number moves from the current build of 14.1.G.1.534 to build number 14.1.G.2.213. Did anyone get update??? any difference???

Those who got update notification,
Take a backup of all important data like contacts, call logs, SMSs, apps, APN and other settings before proceeding further. You may have to perform a clean install of your OS. While for all practical purposes, using Flashtool is safe but there is a very very remote chance of damaging your phone and don’t blame me should it happen.
For flashtool-Link
1. Install Sony PC Companion and/or SEUS. This will copy the necessary drivers to your PC. Connect your phone with USB Debugging enabled and allow your PC to install the necessary drivers.
2. Connect your phone and update or repair your phone with the latest firmware version (right now 14.1.G.1.534). If you update/upgrade, your data will be preserved. If you repair, all data may be lost. So backup everything. Now, your phone is updated with the latest firmware. Keep it aside. We don’t need your phone anymore to create the ftf file.
3. Go toC:\ProgramData\Sony Ericsson\Update Engine\db\13740270\blob_fs folder and look for the biggest three files. The folder “blob_fs” may be located in a different place depending on whether you used PC Companion or SEUS. Perform a search for that folder if you can’t find it. Once you are inside the folder, sort by size and see the 3 largest files were just created (when you updated/repaired your phone). Copy them to somewhere else like D:\firmware.
4. Install Flashtool and open it.
5. Click Advanced > Decrypt Files.
6. Select all the three files and click the right arrow to send them to the right side and click OK. In a moment, you will see a Flashtool pop up window that shows all the decrypted files. Select all and click the right arrow button.
7. Type in the device name next to Device, firmware version number next to Version, and branding next to Branding and click OK.
8. In the Device Selection window that appears, select xperia Z1 and click OK.
9. In a moment, your ftf file will be there in the default Flashtool folder C:\Flashtool\Firmwares
10. Upload it and post the link so that everyone can use it..

I got the same update straight away on o2 branded device.
Backed up my firmware before debranding to generic UK.
Issue is backup is nowhere to be found!!! I checked it was there before I flashed the generic to be sure I had a fallback....but looking for it now, GONE! Weird...

I have not received my device yet.. will arrive on 24th.. from others comment it is rootable.. some people are reporting greying out of some apps when rooted.. applicable for new and old firmware...

I wonder why they are pushing out so many updates in such a short time. Is there something really wrong that needs to be fixed?
I'm going to order my Z1 soon and I'm afraid if I should install the latest update if it's available or should I wait as I don't want to risk to not have root access? I need it for backup and restore and a couple of apps like Greenify...

Yup nothing on the unlocked UK LTE Z1! They really need to update it! Its a great shame since the branded ones already have the updates!

can you make a recovery for E4/E4g?

Well E4g kernel is locked that's mean I can't tune all cores to running and I can't set the speed of cores!! But with those tweaks I can set read ahead buffer and I/O scheduler.
Recovery for E4g will late a lot but for E4 I think is possible in the near future.

Just tried out iRoot! Xperia E4
Well, i used to have my device rooted with KingoRoot! But today i updated to the 25.0.A.2.14 firmware. kingoRoot is no longer working, and iRoot says : "Root failed"
So, could be there any other option out there to root this device?

what u'r country?? im also E4 Dual user, but i not get update.. my version still 24.0.B.3.8...
for rooting u can try Kingroot, then replace it with Supersu .. for replacing u need file with name Replace_Kinguser_with_SuperSU-v1.8.zip & terminal emulator.. googling and download for the file, coz i cant upload..
im succesfully using this way, Kingroot & Kinguser became gone.. my Supersu also can update new su binary

Yeah. That's the last update, that fixes multitouch issue in E4G. And fixes the root possibility ;__;. But I still more prefer working touch screen than root. :x I'm waiting with you guys :3

I knew something was wrong for me too.
So multi touch works better after the update?
And I didnt get the update so far lol.
Does everything deletes after update or?

Multitouch works great after this update (best when you are touching with your thumbs. With other fingers still appears some problems. And there are problems with touch when charger is connected. But I can live with it :3). And update do not touch any of our data. (I don't know about updating rooted software).

[Request] Sony's Android Concept Marshmallow Build 2085

Hello everyone,
As you know Sony give us a Concept Rom based on Android Marshmallow. It should have been only accessible to 10 000 people, but, Thanks to @Jozinek, @jenkins-84, and @russel5 every possessor of an Xperia Z3 Compact can flash this rom, using Flashtools or using custom recovery.
Among the tons of great things that this rom contains, Sony gives us OTA update. Initially the rom started on version 2058 and everyone could update to 2085 BUT Sony cut, for an unknown reason, the OTA update.
Some people have been able to update their rom BEFORE Sony's update cuting, and this is my request :
Someone having a Sony Xperia Z3 Compact using Sony's Android Concept Marshmallow updated to MRA58K.Z1.2085-somc, rooted or not, with custom kernel or not, please contact me, via this thread, or via PM, so I could try to make an flashable update for everyone stuck to 2053

Can you share your link, I think there some difference between OTA vs update.zip. Home launcher is example, I have a friend who have ota and he show me that we can cho a style like iPhone or original style

Sorry but in my update, there isn't the second mode of the home apps But I have the home apk and odex which have this option
Badly, it force close when I use it :/

Do you still have an untouched ota file that we with locked bootloader could sideload via adb recovery? I tried it with Jenkins version, but got bad software version error..

The driver is installed via TWRP Recovery and nothing more needs to be done.
If you want to install only the driver Vulkan, select vulkan.msm8994.
If you want to install only the driver Vulkan and update the OpenGL ES driver, select opengles.vulkan.msm8994

@felipeacydc, for firmware need unlocked bootloader and TWRP Recovery. With the help of flashtool can't install the driver.

can you upload a video testing vulkan games running on Z5, like HIT or VAINGROLY?? to check if the driver works

Which driver You installed vulkan.msm8994 or opengles.vulkan.msm8994 ?
When you install vulkan.msm8994, artifacts should not be!

For starters, you can flash opengles.msm8994_xperia_z5_stok.32.3.A.0.372_adreno430_full, then vulkan.msm8994.

Ok so I got every files where you said they woud be. There's only one thing which concerns me: when I flashed the file in twrp, it said:

And I'm not sure whether or not my graphics have been enhanced.

No the battery is diabolical. Cell standby drain 80%+ everyday and tried everything to stop it. Battery was fine before

Just became available for me. Seems like you guys have it for a while now, so more or less problems than before? (On F3111 running 33.2.A.3.81)

What problems? Been using it for 3 months now running smooth and great no battery issue. And no issue after update either just a security update of android. Waiting for 7 to drop soon :crying:

What problem did you encounter? I plan on updating my phone to this firmware and then rooting it using @rrvuhpg method. Any advice?

What problem did you encounter? I plan on updating my phone to this firmware and then rooting it using @rrvuhpg method. Any advice?

It's not work! I tried. When you install SuperSU, Bootloot forever

Trying to flash this to my phone but Flashtool isn't working. Loads the firmware but does nothing once I plug my phone in. Any ideas?
edit: unknown sources and USB debugging are both definitely ticked. Something about the flash script I assume but not sure how to fix it.

I've not received this update yet. I'm an xperia XA F3111 user in UK on Virgin Mobile (T-Mobile)
