Hello everyone I've got a question I know the S8 is about to come out and I'm on the fence about it mainly because of the edge one of the choices I've thought about making was after passing off my S7 edge buying the regular S7 and selling my edge model. I only bought the edge because it had the bigger battery but the actual edge is not comfortable to use.
I'm thinking about getting the international S7 if I do because I'm reading it has better battery life and is slightly faster. But I need everything to work correctly.
Any good advice?
Iam in the US have the 935f on straight talk att sim and it works well. The only thing that sucks is u do not have wifi calling or volte but if u are on tmobile service u can go in the custom rom section, their is a international built rom to use tmobile wifi calling and volte. now none of my banks use samsung pay,so i have no experience with that.
re: wifi calling - volte

If you don't mind being rooted and twrp'ed
then there is a custom rom which does have
both wifi calling and volte and both work
100% perfectly on a G935F international
phone..
Good luck,
Have a great day!.

Anyone happen to know if the T-Mobile version of the S7 Edge will work perfect on ATT network? I have a current pre-order for the ATT variant but remembering that my Note 4 on ATT was never completely root-able because ATT sucks about those things... I thought maybe I should/could buy the TMobile version and just use it on ATT .... Thoughts?

It has the radio bands to support it but AT&T will not allow non AT&T branded devices to use VoLTE.

So if I buy the T-Mobile variant it will work on AT&T network just not able to use the VoLTE capability of AT&T or T-Mobile (In my area AT&T has the best coverage so I can't switch networks)?

What I've read is that physically the phone supports all 4 major US carriers but each carrier version is firmware locked to that carrier so maybe not.
I personally used u firmware on my att but I really need the WiFi calling that's why I decided to come back to att firmware, but someone said that the t-mobile firmware can be flashed as well since both fw are on same BL now , I did flashed the t-mobile fw for some reason on this firmware I get full LTE bars in most of the places for example in my house with att I got only 1-2bars LTE the speed 4-7mb per second, and with t-mobile I get full 5 bars speed up to 60mb per second now I don't even need the WiFi calling anymore since I have signal in most places and the battery last around one hour longer a day

I use the AT&T service on a tmobile phone. It works great. If you want you can flash the AT&T firmware on it as well. I actually prefer the Tmobile firmware, it's faster and gets better battery life.
On the Tmobile firmware the only thing you lose is WifiCalling. VOLTE works great and I actually get better data speeds on this device than my AT&T devices.
Hey guys I just bought the s7 edge thru at&t a few weeks ago & it has the video calling option but when I try to use it it says it's unavailable.. so how do I make it available lol... my s6 had it and it worked kinda good, my daughter loves it to talk to her dad when he's at work so if anyone could help that'd be great. For some carriers it's been disabled with the S7 and S7 Edge. For example, I am with Telstra in Australia. Before I had my S7 I had the S6 Edge Plus and was able to use video calling feature (which was only just over a month ago). Now no video calling. Confirmed by Telstra that's it's disabled for now. However - I got around this by using the TEKXnesis Hybrid S7 Edge ROM. I've tested all the other ROM's but this is the only variant that actually works. On a couple of the other ROM's it's there but it drops the call. Using this ROM I now have video calling again *working*, plus many other fantastic features that the Dev has incorporated. :good:
Yes, it does trip KNOX counter.
Yes, it can void warranty.
Do I care? No. Telstra provides a replacement warranty for any hardware issues. I'd just flash the stock Telstra ROM if it was working, if not working they just replace anyways... I've already had one replaced that I dropped and cracked the screen (most Telstra users have insurance as part of the plan).
Hello. My friend's mother, from India, is here in the states and would like to buy an S7.
My other friend has a Verizon S7 (SMG-930V) that she wants to sell for cheap ($350). It was her old phone, and she has since switched carriers and phones. She hasn't fully paid off her old S7, although she's still on the hook for it. I think she'll pay it off with the money she'll get from the sale of the phone, but I'm not sure.
My questions are this: Will this phone work well overseas (mostly in India)? Will the fact that the phone isn't fully paid off affect whether it will function? Will flashing the SMG-930U firmware, instead of keeping the SMG-930V, offer any benefits when used overseas?
Thank you in advance for any help!

Is there anyone (anyway) to get WiFi calling on an N based ROM with AT&T using an SM-935F?
I think I understand that there is WiFi calling on M based ROMs for the S7 Edge, but does that work for 935F or on an AT&T S7 Edge?
I wonder if I should downgrade to M if that's the only way
PS I'm a little late to this game
Hi all,
Been through a few thread but didn't get a definite answer as I would like to flash my VZ s7 edge to be on T-mobile as I don't mind the carrier float wares. I just want it to work as the phone is bought from T-mobile. I know it's possible but does everything work including unlocked the T-mobile LTE band? Wifi calling or VoLTE etc.. I wasn't sure if the software will unlocked the bands or is it restricted to hardware limitation. Would you recommend the U firmware or T-mobile? I am trying to give the phone to my nephew as he's a poor college kid using S3 and he's on T-mobile. TIA.
Yes it works. Just make sure you flash T-Mobile firmware
If you flash the U firmware for the S7 Edge, its modem should have all bands available as well.
You might just have to root it and make some adjustments to the CSC.
