Hi:
I am having very weird problem - calling and internet is working fine for some time (~15-30 days) and than all stops. This is happening when I am using 2G/3G or 2G/3G/4G mode. If I am only on 2G network there is no problem. Any ideas what could be the problem? Below is the phone spec:
Model: p8 lite ale-21 dual sim (for Eastern Europe)
EMUI: 4.0
Android ver: 6.0 NO ROOT

Seems a problem with the APN of your provider
Check if they are ok
You should find it under settings -> mobile network -> APN name ...

Try with another SIM
So if the problem persist it's the phone otherwise if the problem disappear is the SIM

I need help. I want to configure my internet and mms but in the Mobile network settings the option for Auto Internet Settings is disabled and I have also tried setting up the APN's for my carrier (which I have confirmed are correct) and still no internet or MMS. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you know if the SEUS debrand method where you replace the two files still works? Could you post a link to the download where you got the generic UK please?
Roaming
I know it's the obvious choice and you have probably checked but when roaming is disabled you can't use the internet settings away from your local network.
I'd check this initially... after that I'm stuck

I think I have this problem too after I tried (unsuccessfully) to root my phone. Now I can only get some networks (Tmobile & Orange) but not my network (Talkmobile, which piggybacks Vodafone). I've been googling around about this for a while and I think it may be that I need to cahange my baseband. Current ver is EPU93_U_00.60.03. But I don't know how to do this. Any help to a noobe would be much appreciated...

You could try with Baseband Switcher 4, and select your baseband...Then you have to set the APN.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. How do I install it.....? without a rooted phone....
here is my situation.
i am in Spain , there are 4 major operators Movistar, Orange, Vodafone and Yoigo, with its own network , and dozens virtual operators.
recently i changed my operator to Yoigo , this operator has its own network and national roaming on Movistar.
my problem is , if my phone is under Yoigo network (both 4G and 3G) , i can NOT dial or receive any callings but i DO have data connection , all way up to maxim speed . if I manually locked it into Movistar network , it can dial/receive callings. Yoigo has its own 4G network , if i lock into Movistar, it's only up to H+ . this is problem ...
so i communicated with Yoigo , they say my line is fine , suggest me get a new sim card, i did , doesn't work either.
then I put my SIM into an i9515, it works on that phone and some other phone. I tried another Yoigo SIM on my phone , that SIM got same situation as mine.
I also tried other 6 operators SIM, they are all working fine on my phone , so i think my phone is hardware'ly fine.
I flashed official TW 5.0 with Bootloader and Lollipop baseband , no good.
i flashed older TW 4.4 with baseband , no good.
i restored IMEI that backup'ed when i bought phone , no good.
also , if i try to set something like voice mail , divert callings in "Phone" , it reports "SIM card or Network error"
symptom: if i dial out, 4G falls back to 3G, and then the dialing pad just closed on its own.
if someone calls , he gets information like "this number is not available "
any idea will be much appreciated :fingers-crossed:

Have you flashed a ROM specifically for Spain? Flashing different regional firmwares could be the cause of this issue. Also try going to settings > connections > more > mobile networks > network operators > set default setup to manual setup and make sure that it is registering the network properly.

Hi friends !
Very very odd...
My P8 Lite was 100% until it stop receiving or make any calls (when making calls it just says "call ended").
SMS's are working fine !
It was with VODAFONE Portugal ROM B181 (single SIM) than I tried to downgrade to B46 (dual SIM) with success but still no calls possible.
Than I upgrade via OTA to B170 with success but still no calls.
Now I have done the upgrade to 6.0 Marshmallow (ALE-L21C432B564 - EMUI 4.0), also still no calls ! I always got "call ended" message.
I can use my SIM card in another phone with no problem !
Any ideia about this issue ?
Many thanks,
Best regards,
CiNi

Many thanks for your help, but I think that is not the problem.
When I dial *#*#2846579#*#* "ProjectMenu -> 3.Network Information Query -> 4. Vendor Country Info" it says :
Vendor : hw
Country : eu
So I think it is right, I'm from Portugal so it must be "eu".
Now I tried the internet via mobile data and it also works without any problem, and it works on both SIM slots.
So, my P8 lite only have problems with make/receive calls.
Any more ideia ?
Many thanks,

Go to settings in the network section you see 3 dots.
from there go to mobile network and there you shee network preferences (Preferancia de tipo de rede) select that and let me know what it says. (turn 4G off if it stands on that)

Hi !
I already tried to make calls only with 2G and the only difference is that the call is not ended but it stays on "dealing" forever, with no call signal, nothing... With 3G/4G the call is imediatelly terminated.
About the received calls is like my mobile phone is turned off.
(sorry about my english)

Do you have a spare simcard lying around? ( best other carrier) if yes try that one...
Ok so edit:
i taught about this and their are a few solution i can think of.
so from what i can assume is the following.
You unlocked your bootloader trough the website from huawei and then trough fastboot this ccode?
Code:
fastboot oem unlock "16 digits code"
please say yes on this...
then you flashed the 046 build
so you just whent onwards from there.
if you did it like this way i would recommend following this guide but first installing TWRP (Chapter 7)
then boot into twrp and do a full wipe ( wipe -> advanced wipe -> dalvik/cache/data/internal/system)
after that shutdown the device (back -> reboot-> power off)
then boot into fastboot (connect device with pc hold down the volume down button and power on) leave it like that and proceed to do chapter 5 in the thread i gave you. once all the problems that are described there are solved see if you can make calls.
IF YOUR BOOTLOADER IS'NT UNLOCKED (which is impossible if you converted to dual sim) DON'T DO THIS.

Now I have my friends opinion. The problem lays on hardware, I will need to replace some component and the repair will cost me more or less like $35.
I will give it a try, and I will let you know the result !
Many thanks again for all the help !

Ok ! Problem solved, now I can make and receive calls.
Now I have another problem (It is my first time working DUAL SIM with this mobile phone) :
I have voice SIM card at slot1 and mobile data SIM card at slot2 (both are Vodafone).
With P8 Lite you can only have 3G/4G on just one slot, you have to choose and I choose 3G/4G for mobile data (slot2), the other SIM slot (voice card slot1) will become limited to 2G, with this I can't receive or make any calls ! The only way I can get both sevices running, is turning slot1 (voice) with 3G/4G and slot2 (data) with 2G, with this I can only get EDGE mobile data connection....toooooo slow !
Any ideia about this issue ?
Many thanks,
Best regards,
Marco Serafim
