Sandisk SD card missing after stock 7.0 update - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

Here's a brief background...
I took my adopted SD card out of my LG G3 and popped it into my Axon 7 when I go it. The Axon 7 saw that the card was "corrupted" because it was still set up as an internal card with my G3. It then gave me the option to use it as internal (adopted) even though they disable the feature in the Axon 7. I went ahead and adopted it and it worked without any major issues. I could no longer go into the Settings > Storage options without the settings app crashing, but that was no big deal.
So today I upgrade to the 7.0 official and as I expected, it doesn't like that I had an adopted card. It comes up with a notification that says "Sandisk SD card missing" and I have the option to forget it.
I'd rather not have to go through the steps of adding it again as internal and reinstalling everything. So is there any fix to this?
Thanks!

[Q] Rooted Nook Color won't find SD card

So I just rooted my Nook Color today and everything seems to have gone perfectly except for one thing. I bought a 16 GB SD card that obviously works enough that the root processed but those 16 GB are nowhere to be found. All I have access to memory wise is the 1 GB that came on the nook. I have looked at the settings and there is only one GB of regular storage and 868 MB on the SD drive. I'm super confused and don't know what to do. Also, I'm not really tech efficient. I can get the job done but I need simple words. Anyway, if someone's got suggestions on how to fix it I'd GREATLY appreciate it. (Also, yes I have tried turning it on and off.)
Just as an update, the SD card shows the same memory capacity when I open it through my computer. However I don't have a hooker-upper thing specifically for it so I have to access it by plugging in my nook.
With your NC turned on, and the SD card inserted in it
Go to Settings > Device Info > SD card > UnMount > Format
This will wipe your SD card of all data, but restore it to the original 16gb's

Adoptable Storage - Anyone got it to work?

I tried the Adoptable storage mod using ADB and everything went through fine with no errors during ADB.
The file size of internal storage is still 32GB reported through the phone's storage setting. It also shows my 64 GB SD card through the phone's storage as well.
SD card disappeared from the File Manager on the phone and does not show up on my PC when connecting the phone.
I filled up the 32 GB internal storage with apps and movies and I am unable to put anymore on. Pretty much indicating that the adoptable storage feature is not working.
I am in the process of factory resetting with the partitioned SD card to see if that fixes anything.

I used the mod to split my 200gb card in half. It worked for me as you can see by the ss.
I finally got mine to correct the total device storage size. Now to see if apps install properly if I fill up the internal storage.
Time to download a ton of crap from Oculus and I'll see what happens.
When you guys say you finally got it to work, what exactly did you do different because I tried exactly as the how-to says and couldn't get it.

After you follow the steps to partition the SD Card, Go to Settings > Storage > SD Card > More (upper right corner). Then migrate files to the SD Card.
Once the migrate completes then I believe that the SD Card is properly made into adoptable storage.
New apps and data should now fill you your SD Card first, before using internal storage.

I have a new problem ...
I did everything on the tutorial and no errors but still wont WORK
My internal phone storage is full and i migrated the internal sd-card (go to Storage-->internalSD-card--->dots uppercorner and migrate) like u said but still the apps won't install on the internal sd-card...
it just asking me to delete some apps to able to install the new one...
Help me with my Sony Aqua m4 8gigs... PLZ
I'm curious about something. Been trying to get this to work but after doing "sm partition disk:179,0 private" (without the quotes) it is my understanding that it may take a while but in no less than 2 seconds it goes back to hero2qltespr:/ $
I also do not see the Migrate data option in (Storage-->internalSD-Card---> upper corner dots). On my Sprint S7 Edge it's Settings --> Device Maintenance --> Storage --> and the 3 dots only has Storage Settings. Once in there there isn't an option to migrate data.
Any idea what I can be doing wrong or does Nougat remove that Migrate option on the Sprint version.

MicroSD Card stopped

Ok hey guys. Yes I searched. This forum and the internet in general.
So I don't know why but all of a sudden my phone won't recognize my SD Card. It has been working for the month that I have had it but all of a sudden... IDK It is a ScanDisk 32GB SDHC-1 U1 Class 10. Anyways I have unlocked bootloader, rooted, xposed installed on stock operating system. I don't have the May OTA Security update and I flashed the zip since I can't accept OTA updates with modded os and it didn't work. No biggie, I don't really care about the May Security update anyways. This was like 2 weeks ago. Well I get tired of seeing the screen asking for me to download it so two days ago I got the app "DisableService" and in the folder Motorola Update Services, I disabled Ota Service. That's the only thing I have done recently. Anyways last night I pick up my phone and notice some of my apps have disappeared. I look in the storage and usb section and the sd card is there but greyed out. I restarted my phone a couple times, popped the sd card out, cleaned the contacts, and put it back. Nothing. I have everything backed up anyways so I forgot the card and reformatted it but I get this error
Whenever I reinsert it I get the notification "Unsupported ScanDisk SD card" but I can't format it. Maybe the card went bad all of a sudden? It's just weird. So I bought a new MicroSD card-PNY Elite-X 64GB microSDXC UHS-I, U3. It's on the way but I don't like not knowing what went wrong with the one I had. Any suggestions?
SD cards do go bad. Do you have any SD cards laying around you can put in just to test if it is the SD card or the phone hardware?

The only other one is in my wifes phone and I'd have to forget it and wipe it. No biggie I guess I'll just wait for the new one and see. I upgraded to 64GB and U3 so I'm happy about that.

Adoptable storage issues

So I have an issue with the adoptable storage with my moto G4 Plus 16gb
I already swapped out the phone at the store, checked with a 32gb card to see if it works, but when I tried with my 128gb card it didn't seem to work, after that, the 32gb card also didn't work anymore.
I'm using a Samsung 128gb class 10 U1 card.
The issue:
When I adopt the storage, the phone does merge it in settings, but when I want to migrate data/apps to it, an error message occurs "there was an error in estimating the data to be moved. Please try again later"
I can move an app to it, but just one by one, and I can't use the adopted storage for media or other files, just apps (one by one).
Anyone know the cause or fix?
(With some people it does work with 64gb cards, but I know someone with the Moto G4 Play 16gb who tried a 64gb card facing the same problems, so now I think the people who have it working are just lucky...)
I find that when adopting storage the best time is after you factory reset.
But if not possible try clearing your storage > internal > cache
Or try adopting in safe mode.
( This was tried with success according to a reddit page).

Issue With K4 Note coz of SD Card Configured as Internal Storage

@Strephon Alkhalikoi @Chainfire
Hello Friends..
i own a Lenovo K4 Note 16 Gb.. due to short storage i Formatted my 64 Gb Stornium Card as Intrenal Storage few days ago. Fast Forward till today, My phone suddenly crashed today. it Restarts.. As it starts back, a notification displays saying "SD CARD MISSING - Reinsert this device" .. i removed the SD Card & reinsert it, but It taking quite long time to restart & not showing any Storage Capacity of SD Card.. In Storage&USB section(in Phone) it says "Checking"..
My Concerned issues are 2 here..
1. Full Recovery of Data from Encrypted SD Card(Adopted SD Card)..
2. Backup of WhatsApp, Contact, SMS, Backup, as while backing up Via (already installed) backup taking apps, it says "No Internal Storage Found" as it is considering SD Card the main Storage.
NOTE:= i m Recieving WhatsApp messages (Cant Download Media) , Can Create & Delate Contacts, but cant take backup.. So i thought that there shld be a way to get my precious BackUps & Data..
Please Guide. Awaiting for your kind Response..
Thanks Rajat
@glassyrajat: I saw this rather late, so I apologize. I don't really get notifications of people mentioning me by name.
You used the adoptive storage feature of Android to combine your internal storage and MicroSD card into one, somewhat like using a striped RAID array in a PC. When you do that, you cannot remove the MicroSD card or else you get errors. The message you are seeing regarding "checking" is because Android has to verify that the MicroSD card you inserted is the one that you made part of the storage. If the card isn't the same or is corrupted, Android will tell you to replace the card.
The best solution I have for you is to be patient. Android has to complete that check, but once it does and assuming no damage to the MicroSD card you should be able to see all your files. If for some reason you cannot, your only option is to format the MicroSD and lose everything on it. This drawback to adoptable storage is why I don't use it or recommend it.
