Hey guys, I need help with my Moto G4 Plus. Ever since it's updated to Nougat my SD card has been behaving oddly. I bought it with the phone itself, it keeps loading and when viewed on a PC using a memory card reader options like cut, delete, rename are not there. After formatting the SD card works but just for a few days. In the phone it just makes the phone lag. Memory card is SanDisk 64gb class 10 and the Moto G4 Plus is a 32gb+3gb Ram variant. All advice is appreciated thanks

Check the SD card for random write/read speeds on your pc. Don't format the SD card as internal storage on your moto g4

Try other tools too. Check also in windows drive management if the SD card gets a drive letter. You can check sd card also in other devices.

This problem is not there in other phones. My friend used a custom ROM for Moto G3 (nougat ROM) and it seems he found that the same was happening in his device. He said that it gets write protected

Of course, there is deeply hidden top secret procedure to follow, which would allow you to do it, although Windows systems are normally preventing Fat32 formatting over 32GB. Follow it HERE.
Personally, I prefer Ridgecrop's fat32 format with nice GUI...

Thanks for the tip, just to confirm, i need to convert my 64gb to fat32 so i can format my sd card?
have you tried formatting is using your phone?
the basics: are you using an SD card adapter? if so, check if the write protect switch is toggled.

It is your choice. You can format it either: exFAT, NTFS, Fat32. Your phone may support anything except NTFS. Your computer can format it natively under exFAT or NTFS.
I'd try to format it via phone, first. If phone cant recognize it correctly, I'd try ExFAT. finally, I'd use third party soft to make it Fat32.

From the screenshot, you have opened several explorer windows. If one of it is pointed on the card, format cannot access the card properly.
Secondly, I hope you have run the guiformat as administrator?
Finally, looking on your other posts, if you were unable to format the card under the phone, please copy all your files to PC, and try to format it from PC, under normal Windows procedure, as NTFS. If that will fail - most likely you have faulty card.
I guess you should read microSD card reviews before buying them. That's why I chose a Samsung microSD card. I have read that Samsung phones have had problems with sandisk cards.

It is very possible it was due to an unsupported file system

I was unable to find a way how to, so I am going to go with no.
I couldn't find a way so ended up "formatting as internal" my SD card

I know OP has used a work around, but if it helps anyone in future, you can manually move apps that support it, even when in the 'format for internal' setup.
Go into 'Settings', then 'Apps', then select the app, and tap 'Storage' and 'Change':

I guess its only for whatever apps support it like before, none of my apps offer me that option.
No option to change on my G4 either

Of course moving to SD has always depended on where the apps developer wanted it to install, but it looks like that option has been removed since the SD format as internal came along.

What cards are people using for internal?
I've tried a "Kingston 32 GB Micro SDHC UHS-I Speed Class 3 U3 Memory Card " but was reported as too slow
Now order a "SanDisk Extreme 32 GB SDHC Class 10 Memory Card up to 90 Mbps with U3 Ratings" to try

I have that same as card, and when I tried again, it just worked.
A suggestion: move only the apps you don't use often on the SD card. I did that, and there hasn't been a problem except a 2-3 extra seconds for the card to be recognized and mounted after boot.
I moved all of my 'reading and office' apps over because they are big but don't require lots of speed to work.
An example of what should be moved: Pokemon Go doesn't work well on the SD card, so it stays in internal memory. All of the Microsoft office apps (but not OneNote... I don't know why the option isn't there) were moved to the SD card.
I think that stuff you use all the time or things that really need to be fast when they are run should go on the system but the other stuff that is big but you don't use that much and don't need to be very fast should go on the SD card.

Following are the error I'm getting:
1-Unable to delete anything on the card

3-I can copy stuff from the Sd card but cannot CUT or Delete anything.
Also tried Windows to Format the card, still no luck.
Any kind of help would be appreciated.
