Does anyone have a link to the OTA update IAN76K from IAN76H? I know factory images are available for IAN76K, but I'm looking for the actual OTA file that was pushed to Nexus Q devices. Thanks in advance!

I have this sneaking suspicion that the I/O Q's shipped with H loaded but K in the recovery or whatever. I noticed that mine had changed when i did a factory reset. I don't know for sure though. Doubt anybody is able to get a logcat at this point in time. Do you have a device with ian67 H installed?

No. I don't own a Q actually. I operate a firmware repository for every Nexus device from the Nexus S onward. I mirror official factory images and OTA updates for posterity. The site is http://randomphantasmagoria.com. I just added a page for the NQ today and was looking to see if anyone had the OTA link so I could mirror it.

If anyone that has a NQ is willing to take about 30 minutes to assist: I'd like to find the IAN67K ota:
If you would like to help, here's what you can do:
Reflash IAN67K (if you are not already on stock, and you must be on stock to do this)
Root your device
Change the following lines in build.prop:
Code:
ro.build.date.utc=1339795569
ro.build.fingerprint=google/tungsten/phantasm:4.0.4/IAN67H/384240:user/release-keys
Check for updates
Post the name of the update zip it downloads

I'll give it a try in a little while.
You might need to check adb logcat while doing the check for updates, as we do not have the actual URL for it, just giving the filename will only give the filename.
I'm not sure how setting up adb works on the NQ though, I assume it's like normal devices as it has a usb port(?)
(if you know how to set up adb you can skip to step 7)
Download platform tools
Download usb drivers
extract both packages
Turn on usb debugging (I dont know the exact steps to do this on the NQ)
Install the drivers if windows requests it (and I am assuming you are using windows)
go to where you extracted platform tools and do "adb logcat"
Check for updates, if there is one available then post the contents of logcat
If you are able to get that far you can just directly post the logcat if you do not know how to read it.

I don't ever remember seeing IAN67H. As far as I can remember its been "k". I really hope its not the last version we'll see...

Given the current (lack) of news on the NQ, it seems unlikely.
I dont even own one but I'd hope it does too.
Like a hypothetical merger of NQ type media streamers and google TVs into KLP like how ICS merged tablets and phones.
But I digress
Because we now have this information, I have created a Nexus Q page on the website to mirror the firmware.

Yeah it seems like a very minor update.
User facing changes:
Hubbroker.apk got updated (what is this? is it the NQ's launcher?)
Music2.apk got updated
Lib/frameworks/non user facing updates:
/system/bin/common_time
/system/framework/ext.jar
/system/framework/framework-res.apk
/system/vendor/lib/libWVStreamControlAPI_L1.so (WV as in widevine?)
and that's it, every other file is simply updating the timestamp.
OK, so maybe a dumb question, so bare with me here. I m new to the Q but not the android world.
How would us users who have a stock Q go about updating to this latest version. I am having issues with my Q after about 20 minutes and was hoping to give this a whirl and see if it fixes it.

I can almost guarantee you have the latest version as its been around since I got the Q last July.
I have the same issue you have as well. I'm pretty sure its a Google back end thing and not a problem with the build. Although Google may release an update that fixes the problem.

This is compiled from Nvidia's source using instructions found on this page Link
You need to have an unlocked bootloader and adb/fastboot.
Be aware this does not include any of nvidia's apps or google's frameworks/play store and is just plain android with no extras. (If someone can pull from their /system it may be helpful). I will try to add more later, but this should at least get any bricked tablets going until nvidia released a factory image.

Run flash.bat while unlocked/ screen on(if your computer hasn't been approved for adb yet), or while in bootloader.
Or flash each file in fastboot, instructions are in the nvidia link if you need more.

You'll have to root and push a gapps package into your root directory. We don't have a recovery unfortunately.
precisely...
yeah I normally just slap it in the sd card then boot into twrp and flash away but it's kinda hard at the moment. and even stock recovery is upside down and wont get past the android icon no matter the button combo. lol im SOL.
Pretty sure I received a Lemon Tablet though out of the box. Wifi Was really choppy, but then I factory reset it and wifi was just completely gone. but this reenabled the wifi...thank god. but no playstore/google account is a huge bummer! lmao
I appreciate the fast response though man! I'm not stupid with android, but dummy stock makes me scratch my head. I can throw adb commands all day but I just cant push install them for some reason...maybe im just rtarded
I had some issues just pushing too, try using these commands.
Code:
adb root
adb remount
(from inside the extracted gapps folder)
adb push system /system
WORKED!
Thanks man! Went perfectly smooth! I forogot about pushing the full folder like that. Havent had to do it inna while but yeah man it went smooth as day! Thanks! now to just wait for the factory img...lol
BTW do you know what I have to rename the tablet under about device to make it look as the shield tablet to the playstore? I was using grid when the wifi crapped but I cant use grid as it says my device isnt supported.

I'm not sure exactly what it needs to be changed to, if someone could get a dump of the stock rom it would help. I tried to see if someone could get me a dump, but I've had no luck yet.
I hear yuh. Yeah I'm no help onna dump at the moment. If somebody could post even a screen shot of their about tablet I can rename the stuff directly. I use ROM Toolbox Pro and use the build prop editor. You just rename the builds to the stock nvidia one and you should be golden as the play store reads it as stock nvidia android...I think...I had to do it with the kindle fire back in the day to make it look like a Nexus 7.

Yes, you should be able to change a few things to make it work. I think most of what you can se is cosmetic and you'll have to change the ro.build.fingerprint too if I'm not mistaken.

Hopefully someone who is rooted/stock is willing to send us some screen shots. I actually kinda prefer this build over the stock nvidia one...its a lot faster. Theres absolutely no lag...granted I use sd maid/unlocker, fstrim, and nova. But so far this rom has been great. And you cant beat that barebone feel of android! Although the nvidia optimizer is there its unavailable through the settings menu. You can tell how stuff is like in there but hidden. Theres pros and cons to both. I just need to get the right build props to make the playstore see this as the shield tablet. Youve been a great help bub btw I appreciate it.
It just sucks that my first experience with the shield tablet was a bad install of android out of the box? Thats the first time ive ever had a software related wifi failure. The only other time was eith my droid 2 back in the day. LOL
Btw Other Shield Tablet owners, this is the screenshot I need from YOU so i know what to change my props too. Im using rom toolbox pro, but the lite version allows adjustments too. All I need is the screenshot! Much appreciated!

I had it, just by guessing at SHIELD TABLET, and while my gf and I were lookingat it I randomnly noticed that it was SHIELD Tablet, and not SHIELD TABLET! I REBOOTED AND IT WORKED!! YOU SIR, ARE AWESOME!! I appreciate the help!! And Keith, when you built the img's I noticed you put your name in them? Oh! No big deal! Your name is still all in it. Its just the one line, I assume, thats seperating the playstore from recgonizing it as the shield tablet! Lol
This build has external sdcard issues. My 128 GB SD card shows as damaged, every other ROM with sdcard support (including stock) works fine. I'd love to be able to use a pure android build on the tab, any chance of making another build?
EDIT: seems to have issues with exfat formatted cards, works fine with sdcards formatted as fat32 ?
I'm just curious if anyone else has gotten the offline viewing (download) for Netflix to work? I thought it had to do with rooting, but my Samsung note is rooted and it works. I've tried it on Omnirom and resurrection remix unsuccessfully. The only other thing I can think of is it's a Nougat/Android N issue.

A few articles I've read listed a number of devices that have been listed as compatible, and there are definitely tablets listed. There are several devices that allow downloading that are not on the list as well.
I'm just curious if anyone else managed to get it working somehow since this is my largest method of media ingestion.
I tried to put a Netflix version which could support downloading for offline use.
Its very frustrating that I could not get it working. So now I do not see very much purposes for my old Nexus 10 tablet. I wanted to watch some movies/series on the way home in my commute.
If anyone finds any solution please could you post it here.
Still using stock on my nexus 10 but latest asop rom on my very old nexus 7 2012 now allows netflix downloads. Maybe look into asop rom for nexus 10? (If it exists?)
Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
I've narrowed the problem down to our model I think. I've tried both Omni ROM and resurrection remix and neither allow Netflix downloading. But I've tried stock and resurrection remix on my old Samsung Note 3 and it works fine. I may try tweaking the model in the build prop to see if that works.

I believe it checks some DRM stuff. Try last official Google release (lollipop). I would guess it might work with that.

Any luck with the build prop?
So far my conclussion is that, like someone else here said, it doesn't depend on root/unroot or stock/rom, the device is just not compatible.
I talked to Netflix Support and they said that they have a list of compatible devices but not one of incompatible ones, so basically they're still expanding the compatibility among more devices. But being honest the N10 wasn't a very very popular device, so in the best case scenario we will not see official support for the device in a long time.
Hi guys! I'm also facing the same problem, although with a different device (oneplus x). It worked for me with CM13 but after updating to Nougat (lineage 14) the option is gone. Frustrating!
Solved Offline Viewing issue
I got Netflix offline viewing working on a Nexus 10 running LineageOS 13. You have to download and flash the updated WideVine DRM libraries. I have tried this method on 6.01 and 7.1.1 AOSP roms and it doesn't seem to work. The only ROM I could get it to work on was LineageOS 13, but at least it is working. I can't find the download link for the libraries and XDA won't let me post an outside url yet, but try searching for "LineageOS 13 updated Widevine blobs" or something like that. If you can't find it, send me a message and i will upload it and send you a link.
I also changed my build.prop to make it look like a Nexus 9, but I don't think that actually did anything.
I hope this helps.

Yeah man it worked for me too, Lineage13. Thanks!
I downloaded a movie and a Tv show, but the quality is not good enough. Even if I set the download quality to high, the quality on a device with a screen like this is ... not what I expected.
By the way first I forgot to set the download quality to high, than I tried to download the same movie with high quality on and I received a message: "This title can be downloaded 1 more time before April 25, 2018"
Twice in a year? I've never heard about this rule before...

I have it installed. Everything feels pretty stable from a quick glance. Google Music keeps force closing if I reboot. I'll try to clear the data for the app and see if that helps. It is of course too early to comment on battery. Audio is working fine. Haven't tested calling yet. I'll test bluetooth out on my drive home from work . I noticed a theme option under display settings. I noticed that has an android auto generated theme and a Pixel theme. I can't get it to switch to the Pixel theme. Toggle appears to do nothing.

I'll stay patient. To be honest, the Google io Keynote this year showed too much stuff that "will be available later" in my opinion and this beta seems like the only thing that's"out now".

The question was about flashing TWRP and SuperSU on ODP1. Obviously, we need ODP2 factory images now. I'm assuming ODP2 has May bootloader, so all instructions need to have additional steps for flashing Verified Boot Signer (if it even works) or flashing back to April bootloader (if it doesn't have any negative effects on ODP2).

I just flashed, and it seems stable enough. The theme looks absolutely dreadful to be honest - it's white status and drop down bars, AFAIK that wasn't included when the dev preview came out. I'm Factory resetting my phone now, to see if that changes any of the theme behavior, if it doesn't i'll flash back to stock and probably try on Beta 2.

I've gone back to Nougat on my Pixel XL.
I'll probably put it on my 6p, and see if there's an update to fix the theme.
The UI looks awful at the moment though, will keep reading if anyone figures out why the UI has done that.
