Hi everyone, new guy here.
I would like to know if there is a way to make/add new themes on mini 7 without routing or installing custom rom. I had this option on my S6 and I really miss it on the axon.
Thank you!

I've been looking too and can't find anything since there isn't a root option as far as I know of yet...

I guess there is this for root but I haven't tried it yet:

I sold the axon mini 7 and bought another 7, a S7 Edge. Problem solved.

Root is weird on s7edge btw..at least on snapdragon version. I was just running unrooted
I needed some quick money, sold s7edge for 370 and got axon for 200. I don't regret at all.

I use the Axon 7 mini as my daily driver even though I have a Nexus 6p that's brand new in 64gs. I like the one handed use of the Axon mini and how well the build is for it. All for $200 bucks. It's definitely a sleeper phone for sure.

Update I returned the axon mini and got a g5plus. Axon had very meh battery life and g5plus is way better all around imo and has much more Dev support. Same price point as well.

Whenever you decide to sell your 6P, let me know, as I really want one for a project, but I need a new one, or a mint condition 6P. Thanks.

I plan to get one because it's better than the Dell Streak in terms of being unlocked and it works as a phone (without hacking it like the Galaxy Tab). I will get this device on Best Buy this week Let's get our hack section here now!
Just got home with mine! A kinda interesting so far .

I can't wait to install CyanogenMod on this huge fish!
Quick question: I'm thinking about buying it but do you need to have 3G/sim card in order to use the market and download apps? Or can you just get the tablet and enable wifi right away and use the market?
You can just use wifi if you want. So does anyone know if cyan is working on a rom for this yet? Also, what is the best root method for it?

You might want to add a poll to this thread.
Should we have a Ideos S7 section?
Yes or no
If you do, i will be voting yes because it will help grow the community.
I think so.

I ended up taking mine back and getting the galaxy tab. I loved it except for the resistive screen. Its a great tab though!!

True, but only 2g with tmo.

The S7 is a great tablet for the money. The only one I have found that is readily available with 3g, GPS and Bluetooth for $300.00. I have had mine for about a week and a half.
I love mine but I'm dying without android 2.2, any developers looking at these

you mean the prepaid packages sold from optus australia are not simlocked?
I picked one of these up the other day, and loving it. I originally picked up the Maylong M-150, but what a turd (Returned at record pace). This thing is much better. I would love to see it's own section in XDA with developer support. Cyan would be awesome on here.
Word up on the cyanogenmod shebang. This tablet is much easier to find than the Viewsonic which got its own section. So huh?
I too would like a section for this tablet and a cyanogen rom would be grand.
I just grabbed this little tablet for my son and was shocked at how much they packed in this little baby for the price. I was planning on getting a View Sonic G tablet for myself but might just grab another one of these.
Also side note anyone know where I can get a spare battery and or car charger for this thing?
Actually I really would love to see an extended battery up to 4000 mAH for this sucker.
I would love a section for this, I have the Telstra T-Touch Tab, which is what Telstra have rebranded it to in Australia, I think their hardware is slightly different though I am not 100% on that, if it is different then maybe a sub-forum for the T-Touch would be in order
This tablet has a lot of potential for froyo cooking and such, I do hope we get a forum
Hi, I live in England and ordered a Nexus 5 from Amazon Warehouse (used-very good), but they sent me an LG D802.
It seems the G2 is like a slightly better and more expensive version of the Nexus 5 from what I can make out - so it would make sense to keep it but the reason I like the Nexus devices is vanilla Android and instant updates. I assume the Nexus 5 will be getting M, for example, and doubt the G2 will. It hasn't updated to Lollipop yet (or mine hasn't anyway).
I stuck my old 3G Giffgaff sim in and it wasn't recognised, so I tried a Tesco Mobile 4G sim and that is working so I am assuming I have the "International unlocked D802"?
Do you think I should keep it given my liking for Nexus devices (after all I was trying to buy one, lol), will it update to Lollipop?
It's a nice phone and I probably got a bargain given how much more it costs than the Nexus 5, I believe the battery life is much better and it has a better camera but apart from that is there any advantage over the Nexus 5?

Thanks, that pretty much confirms what I thought.
I still don't know what to do though, lol.
At least I got it from Amazon so I have a month to decide.
Does anyone in the UK have this phone (D802 16GB) and has it updated itself to Lollipop yet? Or do I need to unlock it and install a custom rom?

I will do if I don't send it back. Still haven't decided.
I would go with the Nexus simply for the active development, that alone extends its life. That's why even the Galaxy Nexus and Tegra based N7 still see development today. For me it's more important to have a device that would see a steady flow of updates far past its EOL.

Well Believe it or not I'm working on one for the past couple of weeks since I love my Axon 7 so much. But I'm working on it in my limited free time so the earliest it'll be released is probably in 3-4 months. I'll make a thread for it once it's released.

Hello
I want the Mate 9 6GB version. I've searched the forums as much as I can understand and found that Wondamobile seems to be the legit place I can buy it from for the UK but there's still stuff I don't get and any help will be appreciated:
1) Will the AL00 international version be in full English, with google play and full UK functionality working on UK SIMS in the UK? (conflicting answers on their website maybe due to different dates)
2) From what I read I understand google play may work but does that also mean will everything else be ok? I mean, is google play just one aspect of it, but the rest may be in chinese (like settings, facebook, email etc). Or if google play works can I be certain that basically it's totally fine and will be a UK phone. I don't want a Chinese phone that just happens to have a UK version of Google Play on it!
3) Can it be rooted?
4) Would I be able to run my own Nova Launcher (pro)?
5) They say they refund any customs - does anyone have experience of this? (I don't see how/why they could)
Thanks in advance even if you can only answer 1 or 2 of the above
As I know, there is only chinese model Mate 9 that has 6 GB RAM. It can be rebranded onto international firmware, so you can use Google Apps same way as you're using international model Mate 9.
Sure, it can be rooted
You can use Nova Launcher (there were some troubles with specific functional, don't know does it hurt you). Search thread in Q&A.

That's very helpful thank you.
Yes wonda have replied to say that it should be fine too.
they also say I'll be able to do updates without losign the google play which is great.
I've the 6gb version. It's AL00 but I've rebranded it to L29c636 in essence the international version. I have no a launcher working perfectly too. All apps work apart from a Barclaycard app. Google integrated so no issues on that front. I bought mine from Gumtree, a chap has his folks send it over and he didn't want it. Paid... £600 for it! It's a brilliant phone.
Ah thats helpful thanks.
Im having second thoughts about the phone now though having seen techzilla's 1 month update review on YouTube. He claims the battery is rubbish and no better than S7, iphone etc.
Are you finding its not much different or does it seem to last more?

Why 6gb ram? Android can't work with more than 4
Mate 9
From what I've read that's contentious. One plus 3T only allow 4GB unless rooted but does huawei do the same?
If so I'll just buy one in the uk
My suggestion is to buy whatever is sold and supported in your region. Unless you realy have a knack for tinkering just get a device from an authorized local retailer and spare yourself the headache of having to deal with customs, rebranding, cross-flashing, etc.
Legal warranty = peace of mind. Just my 2 cents.

Well techzilla is talking out his rear end. I had the S7 edge exynos, got rid of olive after a few days for the Mate 9. The battery life is fantastic. I absolutely love the Mate 9 (6Gb Duane sim b158) and the battery life is why I love it so much. Also, when the time comes the battery is pretty easy to replace...
I'll tell you something, a lot of these review sites talk rubbish and hype. I did my own research, based on videos and then going out and trying. The Mate 9 had the best battery life of any smart phone I've owned. Period.

THanks mate yeah with the replies I'm getting here and his BS comments of getting a whatsapp every 3seconds and an email every 7 seconds etc I'm coming to the conclusion that there's a bit of BS in that review. Not a single person seems to agree with him.
Out of interest - how do you find your 6GB version? Do you find you are going beyond 4GB usage at all? Is it useful for having lots of progs in memory? Or using the camera (I red somewhere high RAM is useful for cam). If you do go beyond 4GB RAM usage are you noticing more battery drain with this?
Sorry for all the Qs but if I'm gonna drop close to £600 on this thing I want to make sure it's worth it!

Hey Axon users and devs!
I recently received a ZTE Axon 7s(A2018) from my uncle that works for ZTE. It's a different device than what I thought, I like it! I've been looking near and far for development for this device. It's turns out to be none since the security features of this device is crazy. What I'm trying to get at is...
Would anybody be willing to develop a rom and custom recovery for this device if I supplied the files and charitability?
Have a crack at it and if you need any assistance I am there. I am crazy busy at the moment and don't have time to do so.
Thank you
Kountry
hi,
there is no development for this phone.
it was released in june 2017 only in china, there are no international/us variants available. the phone doesn't have all related LTE bands.
no one need it, no one buy it.

It works perfectly on T-Mobile and At&T LTE. I'm using it right now on band 12 on T-Mobile. I also get band 2 and 4 in some areas too. So yes it has potential and it's faster than my ZTE Axon 7 Enhanced Edition. I get 176,462 on Antutu benchmark.

however, there is no development and there will be no development
Basically, it's a Chinese only model and very rare outside China. There's no demand for it and no non Chinese ROM. I don't think there would even be sources to make it from.
Pity, because it's a better device.
