Should I worry for screen burns? - Moto G4 Questions & Answers

As the title said, should I worry?
I just recently bought my Moto G4 in mid Januari 2017 in the Netherlands. Currently I read a lot about screen burn issues(mostly in India?) with the G4 PLUS. Luckily I do not have any GHOSTING issues, however the screen burn messages on the internet concern me . Checking through Devcheck shows that I have the same LGD display as Moto G4 PLUS. Currently I do not have any ghosting or screen burn issues.
EDIT: After digging some more it seems like only the Moto G4 PLUS is affected?

Some users have this issue and some not.

This is not an issue bud. Your screen isn't defective at all. This is the limitation of ips panel. Some/very few users who aren't able to notice(including me) might have not good eyes like ur's
So don't panic. Just relax and enjoy this device

It's is not a issue with the device. It is some kind of sensors for Moto display.Turn Moto display off and it vanishes. This issue has been raised in one of the forums in lenovo , to which they replied that it is a sensor and not a display defect. So chill!
The horizontal lines are available in each and every device. The one who tells that they haven't noticed it, they might have not seen it properly. To see it you have to revise your geometry and have to see it at different angle under sunlight with hawk eyes.
I have noticed this on my G5 plus and it is normal (as in it doesn't hamper the functionality or doesn't imply malfunction).
See the photo
They are the touch sensor patterns. However, I also came across another G5 plus(one of my friend's) which has a different patterns (grids instead of horizontal lines) and they are barely visible even in bright outdoors.
The kind of sensor pattern you're talking about(only horizontal lines) are however, have more visibility, which kind of disappointing, and are hard to be unnoticed once you see them . So, there are two types of displays on G5 plus, and those who have the grid sensor patterns are the lucky few.
Thank you all for your kind reply.
I have the same issue... I dont like it but i want to keep the phone... Don't know if i want to return it beacause of this.
I was concerned about the horizontal faint white lines in my display. Thanks @williamj949 for explaining it's part of Moto Display. Confirmed that they go away if you turn it off. Good to know the display isn't faulty.
It's the digitizer's (touch sensing layer beneath the glass) grid.
Actually its been awhile since I've seen it on a phone (last one I saw was on Nexus 5s), guessing it's just the side effect of buying a medium-tier priced phone.
I'm. totally cool with it though, you don't notice it after a while.

It has nothing to do with Moto display, it will still be visible as it's a hardware thing

Screen retention purchase question

Hi All,
I know that there are some topics regarding to ghosting/screen retention etc. What about now? Is it still safe on the long run for the users, are you experiencing the screen ghosting like on the G4, G5..??
I want to purchase this phone, but on the G2 i had screen issue.. G3 luckily no issue, G4 burn in/ screen retention, G5 burn in/ screen retention... So can someone give me some advice, is this still a problem on this devices?
No burn in so far. But that usually takes a while for it to show only had mine for 3 or 4 months so far
I had the G5 which had serious issues with screen retention, purple spots when screen was hot, etc.
The G6 does not exhibit any of these.
You can buy it without problems

Exactly, well it is a nice phone and it is 2-4 years proof..
What the hell are you talking about? I have the G2, G4 and now the G6. I don't have any issues like that.
unfortunately even the g6 has that ! but its not as bad as the g6 ! its not even noticeable you can see it only with white colours in certain backgrounds (grey)
Screen retention

It's a common problem for LCDs display, G5 was the worst because display was not perfectly mounted, on G6 there is way less retention
No problems on G6, even after the full day of usage on highest brightness settings. This Quantum Dot display is beautiful btw.
I got the screen retention problem after 2 months of use but it was gone without me doing anything after 10 or 15 days

Moto G6 plus vs. Honor 10? Anyone has any experience with Honor (or huawei?)

Ok I had some questions regarding these two phones but as you can see in the post below, I have already made my choice.
One question though:
How easy is the screen of the Moto G6 plus on the eyes?
I read it's pretty bright.
I hope it's pretty stable and not flickery, and not too blue-lightish. (software to counter bluelight is not the same)
Never had any problem with Moto X4 or Moto G3 tho so if it's not worse then it's ok.
Ahhh anyway, i think i'll go for the G6+ because it has water repellent coating inside and out.
Not really waterproof; but sometimes a little sweat or humidity in a room can already mess up a phone.
I also suspect that Motorola has better software and hardware quality than HUAWEI/HONOR.

Regarding Display Burn in issues..

I bought my moto g5 plus on January, 2018. Its been more than an year old now and recently i noticed a yellowish tint on the display (more visible in white backgrounds) on the top right corner of the display. Also there is a yellowish boundary forming on the whole lcd panel. The touch works fine though.
Is this an issue with this model or just my phone was flawed? Is there any remedy (software wise)?
Thank you.

My phone is 2 years old and don't I have this issue on my phone. I think it can be your device specific issue.
And that's not burn in. Burn in is a ghost image on the screen, usually very faint, from a constant image left on an LED or OLED screen. G5+ has an LCD screen and is not susceptible to burn in.
