I upgraded to the s7 edge from a s4, is there a way to change how I close apps from the 3 line button to long holding the home button like on the s4?

I believe there agree paid apps to do this, or xposed would be required, however there is no xposed for nougat yet if you are they latest firmware.

I'm not on nougat yet and if you might be able to tell me what apps I'd greatly appreciate it.
Install xposed then use something like wanam or another I can't remember the name of. They allow you to mod the UI how you like including remapping the soft keys.

I would like to take a screenshot, but how ?
The only way for me to take one would be with ADB. None of the screenshot apps work for me yet.

Hold the power+home button for a second or turn on the gesture setting to take screenshots by swiping your screen with the side of your hand

Nothing has change as far as i know , it still should work as explained above......
power + home button should work unless you have issues with your buttons and palm swipe to capture should work as long as you enable it at motions and gestures.......
how did you flash rom? , clear dalvick and cache , clear cache for touchwiz home from the application manager and see if it helps...if not reflash rom again
BACKUP FIRST!!
Actually i tried all of it.
But none of it worked.
How has this got to two pages?
Its volume down and power at the same time, home button is not required...never has been on s4

Hi mate
Power and home always been use at least on stock roms.....
Hi everyone
Strange question but...
On such a larger screen than I'm use to.
Is there a better way to reach one handed the slide out hamburger menu in most apps?
Usually I use my thumb but it's such a stretch to get to the top corner, some apps do slide out from the side but seem inconsistent. I'm finding it very difficult.
I am rooted and was wondering any app or modification I could use to help me.
Thanks you for listening!

I had a look but I can't seem to find anything. Are you on marshmallow or nougat?
Hi man I'm on nougat.
I thought there might be a button shortcut or gestures, that could help one handed
Thanks for looking

As you are on nougat that unfortunately rules out the possibility of xposed. Could this possibly be what you are looking for?

May I ask what do you need one handed for? Apps or your browser? There are one handed mode browsers if browsers are a problem.
---------- Post added at 12:56 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:47 AM ----------
Okay, some roms have what you might want. Basically I recommend flashing pimps rr from androidfilehost.com. In settings go to configurations then gestures then pie control and enable it. Then with pie control there will be home, back, recent and 3 dots (...) which will be the hamburger menu in any app. You can customise stuff and this should help you out.
Thanks for your reply. Mainly want it for apps, but didn't want to flash a new rom.
If I hold the nexus 6p at the bottom of the phone, my thumbs are a real stretch to the hamburger menu or slide out.
I will take a look at what you have posted cheers man
I was just thinking, maybe I could make a app for this purpose. Do you think it might be popular?

I had a look at some apps but most just seem to be to access apps and not the hamburger icon. As far as I know you would need to flash a rom with this pie control gesture or you might not be able to do it at all.
You could give LMT a try, might have an option for what you need.

Good work mate, I second you on that LMT app. I just tried it and it is a perfect pie with the hamburger feature. Good find, well done.
007 I'm a bit confused with that app, how do I add the pie feature please?
I've activated LMT with a app in the pie menu, but don't see a option for hamburger in app shortcut

Sorry, just got back to this thread. Are you still having an issue?
Don't know if any other roms have this yet, but ABC rom does.
Huawei ported their one handed mode over to AOSP(I believe this was the story).

Thanks for replys. Still trying to get this to work.
Is it possible to set the back button in a app to toggle the hamburger menu? That would be handy because instead of backing out of the app slide from left in stead.
Cheers for patience, I did use the piepointer but found it quite difficult to use sometimes.
I had an update this morning and now i can't remap the Bixby bouton.
Did someone found a hack already ? :/
I am also very frustrated by the inability to disable or remap this button. I do not use Bixby and do not want to. But I keep accidentally hitting this button!
I think Samsung made many users very angry but forcing it upon them.
As far as I understand there is no solution currently to disable it. One thing comes to mind is to to use a case which will hide this button. Might require some fine cutting/filing....

PackageDisablerPro allows to disable Bixby button (but not remap) but on T-Mobile Galaxy S8. I just personally tested it and very happy!
i havent had any updates for my device, i have an att one running on cricket but will be updating once it comes out
There's supposedly a 'Day One' update for Verizon and T-Mobile; wonder if that has the Bixby-remapping killer? If that's the case then that's fine with me; as long as disabling Bixby makes the button do nothing, I'm totally fine with that. I'm using the Google Now Launcher anyway so I got my Google Now cards back by swiping left. Don't need a button for Google Assistant since a long-press of the Home button and "OK Google" brings it up anyway.

The udpate arrived for me on the second day. And can confirm that it did block the Bixby-remapping apps.

Samsung should give their customers options to use the button for whatever shortcut they want, and assign the AI to the home button (with the option to select either Bixby or Google Now). :good:
I was able to disable the Bixby button with the most recent update. I did this by using BK disabler.
Though, I am unable to remap the button. Which I guess is better than accidently pressing it

I know it was possible on other xiaomi phones, but is it possible with Google's software?
Thanx.
If your phone already rooted you can edit build.prop to enable on screen navigation

you missed the question.
yes we can edit the build.prop to activate the navigation bar, but not everyone wants that black bar.
we just simply want to turn the capacitive button lights.
hope some day we figure it out :good:
Any news? It's the only point that stops me to buy this phone (I hate soft touch buttons, in this way they will be invisible).
We can enable the software keys but how to disable capacitive touch buttons on mi a1, i have already edited the generic keyboard file added # to comment those buttons but that doesnt work for this phone.. anyone here with the solution?

You can achieve it using GravityBox ( xposed module ). In GravityBox under 'Display Tweaks' click on 'Button backlight Modes' and select 'Disable button backlight'. You can even enable transparent navigation bar under 'Navigation bar' setting.
Slight side question but related... Is there any way to get the key backlights to stay on longer? (Without root)
I came from a Sony which were the other way around so would like to see them to learn the new order!
