Mine says failed every time I flash anything by fastboot, even stock firmware... Even though is says failed it should work. After you flash twrp switch it to reboot directly to recovery. Twrp should come up

Moto g4 XT1625 install TWRP 3.0.2 fail, Image not signed or corrupt.
unlock boot loader ok,
Install TWRP 3.0.2 from official (twrp-3.0.2-0-athene.img 12.2M 2016-06-08 17:50:53 EDT) fail with these message:
(bootloader) Image not signed or corrupt
I tried again, not work. After that, reboot, try to enter recovery mode, only get "no command" message with a dead Android robot on the screen.
I wanna root this device, but can't install TWRP at all.
Please give some help.
Reboot to recovery first after flashing twrp. Then reboot from twrp recovery.
Don't worry about the message. It's just a warning.

do exactly what i give-
1.Put your device in bootloader mode(make sure the usb debugging is on)
2.Open adb (make sure adb and twrp are in the same folder)by shift+right click, then open command window here(do this where adb is installed).
3.Type: fastboot flash recovery [name of twrp image].img
4.Then in the bootloader menu toggle to restart bootloader .(Not restart because the recovery will get replaced by stock recovrey)
5.Open recovery.twrp should be installed
If you have any problem send the printscreen of cmd.
Step 4 : Choose Reboot to recovery mode using volume keys. Press power button to select.

First of all, thanks for all the reply.
I will leave more detail and keep trying.
turn on usb debugging. --> ok
adb reboot bootloader --> ok
fastboot devices --> ok show devices
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img --> enter everything right but only got fail & pain T_T
// The message:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
(bootloader) has-slot:recovery: not found
target reported max download size of 536870912 bytes
sending 'recovery' (12496 KB)...
OKAY
writing 'recovery'...
(bootloader) Image not signed or corrupt
OKAY
// end
Here, it said sending 'recovery' (12496 KB)...
which means, I guess it get that img file, but still fail.
By the way, some other user got the same problem and message.
I tried on XT1625 Moto g4, again and again, fail. close unnecessary program.
If I can unlock bootloader, hardly believe things could go south like this.
Maybe the key problem is
1 (bootloader) has-slot:recovery: not found
something must wrong, but where?
2 (bootloader) Image not signed or corrupt
XT1625 Moto g4, Moto g4 plus need different TWRP? But there's only one from TWRP official website.
I tried everything I can do, download again compare with md5 before I post.
I can't find way out.
Anyway, thanks alot.
updated, I'm not sure, but as you said, I tried again, suddenly, I could enter TWRP, I will try whether it work or not.
Another question is, after unlock bootloader, install TWRP, root. Can I update system or patch with OTA?
Thank you for reply and help.

Nupe.
When i am in the bootloader (in state "flashing_unlocked") and i try to flash twrp through fastboot i get the error "(bootloader) has-slot:recovery: not found" and the flash fails. any help? Ive got the nougat soak test installed
Nougat is not rootable.
Try: fastboot boot twrp.img
Youre the best!!!!! it worked!
To summarize, I have a Moto G5 Plus, with locked bootloader and I decided to update a ROM STOCK and made a simple mistake by forgetting the OEM unlock option in advance in the configuration menu. An error occurred on the way and tried to return to the stock. Now, when the phone boots up, it enters the boot loader (which is locked) and displays a startup error message that states that you must use the Software Repair Wizard.
trying to enter the recovery gives a code:
AP Fastboot Flash Mode [Secure]
Fastboot Reason: UTAG "bootmode" configured as fastboot
failed to validate boot image
ERROR: Failed to pass validation, backup to fastboot
Boot up failed
Is there a known solution or force a recovery to work?
Thanks to all
Hello;
I found the solution, download the latest firmware from your cell phone, download it just unzip the zip and look for the files: gpt.bin and bootloader.img, those 2 ctrl + c and files go to the folder where they downloaded ADB tools and paste the files there , then execute the steps to open command window here and execute the following:
fastboot flash partitiongpt.bin
fastboot bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
and it is ready to install the downloaded rom.

I bought a new Moto G6 Plus XT1926. My goal is to install a twrp image as recovery and then next the lineage.
I got a weird issue when trying to flash "twrp-3.2.1-37-evert.img" on my 1926 by using "./fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.2.1-37-evert.img" on a mac console. The output is:
XT1926 myMac$ ./fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
sending 'recovery' (29440 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.630s]
writing 'recovery'..
(bootloader) Invalid partition name recovery
FAILED (remote failure)
finished. total time: 0.634s
Just before I unlocked the Bootloader. I tried:
1. Locking bootloader again and flash => nope
2. Restoring the partition table by the following commands:
./fastboot oem fb_mode_set
./fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
./fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
./fastboot flash logo logo.bin
./fastboot flash boot boot.img
Does anyone know why the partition "recovery" may be not present and how to make it flashable?
I flashed a XT1039 multiple times without issues, so I got some experiences. But i am out of ideas here.
How can it be that there simple is no recover on the phone I wonder.
Also I downloaded the "TWRP official" App and installed it within the Moto G stock rom and it also says that it can not locate the recovery.
I tried some stuff for two evenings and now i do not know how to continue...
Thanks for hints!
The Recovery is inside the boot, that's why the G6Plus don't have an official TWRP.
The ones we have are the bootable one with decryption enabled, or a flashable one with no decryption
So instead of flashing the TWRP to the recovery partition, I should flash it to the boot partition?

No. Do not flash it at all! Load bootloader on your phone, from a pc with a fb and fastboot on it, run "fastboot boot twrp.img" without quotes and twrp.img matches the filename of the twrp IMG file. At this time we can not install twrp to our device. We can only boot it on our device using a pc every single time you need twrp. There was a twrp.img for our device we could flash with fastboot to install on our device but it does not properly flash files sadly. We are trying to raise funds to buy a device for a recognized developer in hopes of making some real progress on modding this device! Look around the G6 forums here and find the thread if you are able to make a PayPal donation or would like to see if you could donate in another way.

Sadly no news. We have official TWRP now which is good. I'll talk to the devs and try to figure out if it's worth getting a pool started.

Okay, i have a problem with the moto G4 plus, the device don't start the system
Starts in the fastboot mode and say "Startup failed"
"Failed to verify hub image boot
Failed to validate boot image
Failed to pass validation, backup to fastboot"
Please help
My oem is locked and i tried to flash the entire system with adb but it's impossible
What firmware did you have prior to your device failing? What results do you get from trying to flash the firmware (I'm guessing you're flashing via fastboot/the bootloader)?
did you update the phone to 8.1 after which this has occured
