Please help. I reset my google account password before a factory reset of my Nexus. It has been saying that I need to wait 24hrs for over a week now.
I have tried the dirty cow method but this doesn't work anymore. I can install google account manager 7.1 over 7.1.1 but can't uninstall it without resting the apk before the factory version. I need to be able to remove this so I can revert to version 6 so the bypass will work.
Does anyone know a solution or another method?
Could you figure it out?
I have one as well with the January 5 Patch locked with google account bought it on ebay and it was locked...
im going crazy man
Maybe... try going to https://myaccount.google.com/ and look for "Notifications and activity in your devices", select the device and remove it from your account.

Where is the one with the K at the end? I think maybe the decryption process is different per image as each image has their own stock kernel (boot.img) with decryption.
it's just above those with l and m

I'm receiving my 6P Thursday, but all the guides I see for unlocking and decrypting are for 08K. After I get my 6P to 08K unlocked and decrypted, can I still take these updates?
MDB08L Root Tutorial?
How can I root my nexus 6p with the build number, MDB08L? I just got the November update. I have been trying to root ever since I got this phone but I can't find a solid tutorial, because of my build number changing. Does any one have a good link?
I manually flashed M update last night before rooting it and I had to decrypt the rom so that root could work. All fine now.

I used this to unlock, root and install TWRP. I had the same build as you.
SKIPSOFT TOOLKIT
I guess I bit off more then I can chew... I'm really new to rooting and I really want to get in to it. But all I only ever rooted my old nexus 5 and that was extremely simple lol. This new nexus 6p to me feels like you need experience and I don't want to brick my phone. The different build numbers hesitate me. Videos make it a lot simpler for me so I can follow step by step and see what is supposed to happen.

Make sure you flash Chainfires boot.bin and install SuperSU zip in TWRP. Dont say yes if you exit TWRP and it asks you to install root.
Question: What is the big difference between L and M? BTW, my N6P automatically updated to L. So I'm not sure if what Android Police says is right or not.

Not sure what the difference is (most likely the monthly security updates but thats pure assumption) but i was able to unlock and root on build M with the same instructions as the K build

They're both November updates. That's the thing. So I'm curious to wondering what is the big difference between the two.

Wish I could tell you. I don't see any changes personally
I think I saw a changelog somewhere where it looked like maybe a new wlan driver and a security update

That was the question/concern I have as well. I just got my 6P two days ago and the November security update was pushed to my device. However it shows I'm on the L build and not the M build. How long does it take for an OTA to be pushed to your device? I would assume if M is newer than my phone should get it? It's just weird that I have the most up to date security patch but not the most up to date factory image and IDK why that is. Thanks.
Not every update is for every phone region. If we haven't gotten an 08M OTA there's a reason.
Sent from a 128th Legion Stormtrooper 6P
Saying then if on L build won't get the M? If that's the case if on L shouldn't consider flashing M images?
For reasons that haven't been specified yet, the builds labeled MOB30D have been removed from the Nexus Factory Image page.
I uploaded it on the mirror, so, you can download if you want flash it. [Nexus 7 (2013) Wi-Fi]

I haven't flashed it either. I assume the found a bug.

I flashed it but I not noticed any issues so far
I still haven't flashed it but have been listening to some Mobb Deep. MOB30D!
Anyone having issues with this release? Debating whether or not to flash my unit. I notice that the Nexus 7 WiFi has binary files available with a MMB29X release.
This is interesting....found this link on Sprint's website: https://community.sprint.com/baw/message/1038775
Almost seems like MMB30D was suppose to have been the mid-March security release.
Features/Enhancements:
•Revision of March Android Security Update to include new fixes
For those who flashed this MMB30D onto the Nexus 7, what is the date in ABOUT PHONE. Is it April 1 or April 2?

The last image for the Nexus 7 2013 razor that I see is still MMB29V.
So much for Google being responsive in getting security updates out. I would have thought that after making a big deal out of that mid-March kernel fiasco that they would have fixed and re-released the images for the three devices that they pulled for whatever reason on Monday. It's now the weekend and no explanation or update from Google. Why am I not surprised?

And today they start working again, but still not displayed in the list.
I just factory defaulted my Nexus 7 (2013) device and installed this new factory image (MOD30D). Once I logged into my Google account, I got an email that I successfully logged into a Nexus 7 (2102).......2012??? WTF?
I wonder if there is/was an issue with the image's fingerprint where it would think that the 2013 model is actually a 2012 model.
Builds MOB30D for both models Nexus 7 2013, finaly, available in the list.

Just flashed new image with WUG, rerooted, flashed Xposed and ElementalX
I'm confused. I flashed MOB30D when Google first posted it, but then took it down. Now MOB30D is back up. Do I need to re-lash it?

These monthly updates while obviously a good thing, there also kind of a pain in the ass. Every month I have to flash the new image, re-root the phone, use Titanium Backup, to go in and delete enough from sys partition, to flash Xposed, followed by flashing my beloved ElementalX kernel. Unless there is some way to streamline all that, a noob like me isn't aware of. Presumably we got just a couple weeks till the May security update anyway. I'll wait.

Last known working method has been fixed with November or December Google security patch. If your device has a newer firmware, you are SOL. Search Google and YouTube for further informations...

Nexus 6p stuck on 7.0 with last security update from Sept. Have done factory reset and still no additional security updates and no updates beyond 7.0. The phone is stock and I checked with a root checker and it doesn't show that the phone is rooted. Support won't get involved because the phone was purchased from private party. Any thoughts as to what the problem is.

Hello...
There's no real reason. Some people already complained with the same issue, when others receive them all the time.
You can manually install an OTA. Just download from Google site and use ADB sideload...
Infos regarding install and firmware can be found here: https://developers.google.com/android/ota
Cheers...
Thank you for the reply. Could there be a problem with the monthly security patches not being updated since Sept 2016. Seems as though they should have updated even if version didn't.

Hey,
No lol... It comes under the form of OTA each month.
Just download latest OTA from Google and sideload it from recovery. Latest is 7.1.2 released nearly two weeks ago.

My friend has a Nexus 6P and hasn't yet gotten Oreo, any idea why? He hasn't done any modifications like root to the device. He is still on the August security patch. He checked for updates many many times. He even called Google and TMobile.

Unless he is willing to manually update, there are only a few options. One would be try enrolling and then un-enrolling in the 8.0 beta program. Others have reported soon after un-enrolling they received an OTA. The other is borrowing a SIM from a different carrier for a few minutes, trying to update the system in settings, and then switching the SIM back. This will sometimes trigger an OTA. Finally, a more drastic measure would be to do a factory reset. Other than that he will just have to wait.

You could try checking if his phone is enrolled in android beta program. If it is, you could try unenrolling from the beta program, and the phone may get further update (only a mild possibility, but it has happened atleast once to a n6p I know).
Alternatively, if you want the update badly, you could download the full ota image and do a ADB sideload via stock recovery. Pretty simple process, works with locked bootloaders.

My wife's Nexus 5X on T-Mobile just got Oreo a few days ago. I'm still waiting (but hopeful) for my Nexus 6P update. Neither of us were rooted or beta.
I was stuck on the August security patch too. I didn't realize it until September and then October rolled around.
I'm also on TMobile. I ended up just ended up manually updating. Worked without issue.
