Go to system/app/app/SamsungIMEv3_SYSTEMUID_XT9/ and remove the .apk. Then put the apk you have downloaded in that folder and set correct permissions ( take a look at other apk permission for example). Then go to recovery, wipe cache & dalvik cache and then reboot.
Let me know if you still have problems.

Yeah it could be.
I have made a flashable zip containing the whole folder.
Here it is: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=745425885120703393 .
Go to TWRP, mount /system and then flash this zip. Then wipe cache & dalvik-cache and reboot.
I made the flashable zip quick, hopefully you wont have issues lol.

Please, can U answer me: I do not have phone with me right now, cuz it is friends phone, i did installed above Stock Nougat 7.1.1 Rom which name is Odyssey Nougat Rom on J5 2016 FN. Now, my friend like that Rom but he doesn't like Samsung Keyboard port from N8... He need keyboard like it was on Stock Rom or one which looks like Xperia Phonepad keyboard. I tried everything, installed Xperia apk keyboard, but nothing works. Keyboard shows on System/Language and Keyboard settings but can not be activated.... That is shorter story Any help would be really appreciated. Thank U very much. Just in case, ill post this post on some other treads or/and on separate thread as well.
I finally downloaded the .apk for my Samsung J5 2016 (later a whole folder, because I realised that it was removed; TWPR closes ) but I can't install it Paidverts.apk that I've installed the same way (not from Play store) works...
What (else) can I do? Thanks for your help.

Well it's pretty much a requirement when flashing AOSP-based firmwares like AOKP, Cyanogenmod, etc. Otherwise, you have little functionality as the Play Store and other crucial Google proprietary apps are not included with the firmware itself.
Follow the directions listed in the thread:
MAKE A NANDROID
wipe data/factory reset in recovery
flash ROM
[*]flash Gapps
reboot

I am wanting to install the LG G Flex Split View mod by Bigfau on my rooted LG G2 but I do not know how to "Flash in recovery and reboot."
Can anyone help me through this process? I was reading up on the flash guide here on the forum and saw that I needed a custom recovery installed before flashing. Is this really needed to just add the split view feature? If so, how can I go about doing this?
thx

yea, unfortunately, a custom recovery is needed to flash any mods or zips. It does not work with stock recovery. The only thing you can flash with stock recovery is a rom, but since you need gapps and so on for the rom to work properly, you need a custom recovery.
I find TWRP the easiest recovery to work with, here's the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2449679
There is no need for custom recovery... Use the Flash Gordon app from play store. All you need is root and busybox. You can flash zips but not ROMS..
Sent from my LG-D802 using xda app-developers app
Hmmm, two different answers. Thanks for the quick replies though.
I don't think I need any roms, I am just trying to take the zip file mod in the link and get it working on my stock LG G2. I know it will work on the stock Verizon phone, but I have no idea how to do the flashing.
If I use an app from the play store, I read that it may, "lack the ability to wipe the Dalvik cache (affecting the JIT compiler)." Will this be a problem for me?

I'll go ahead and try it out later today. I am not against installing a custom recovery if it is useful later. But I don't plan on installing any custom roms ever. Is there any use for a custom recovery outside of custom roms that cannot be accomplished by Flash Gordon App?

The ability to backup your device (make a NANDROID, as it is called). If you have a rooted device and intend to mess with it, I would say that a nandroid backup is a must . The good thing about a nandroid, something which Titanium Backup can't is to restore the whole system and boot. On the other hand, you might find some apps missing, so it's best to back up apps though Titanium Backup and your system/boot etc through Custom Recovery.
Oh and by the way, please tell me how the split-view thingy works once you have done it

I wish you a smooth, error-free process
Did not work with busybox + flash gordon. Seems the .zip contains some system files which are not able to be edited through flash gordon. I'll try to install a custom rom then I guess.
Will installing a custom recovery via this method work?

To set split view whiich works wonders wen modding phones ? you have to set one of your nave bars to open it mine is set as the back button. Long press is why you just press the front nav bar in stead off tapping it. Correct me if im erong but i think you must also be running xposed installer with one of the g2 settings apps found in the playstore. I flashed split view using flashify and it works fine munis not being able to use the knock feature wen engaged.

I do not have xposed and holding down the back button launches the program for me.
The program works after installing it from recovery in TWRP, but after installation, I pressed wipe cache and it was in the process when my phone screen turned off. I couldn't get it to turn back on, and eventually just held down the power button for 10 seconds to get it to boot normally. It works now, but what can I do to avoid that happening again?
That im not too sure about wen i wipe my chace and dalvik it completes the action and just romdomly cuts the phone off. When ever your wiping i say the best thing to do is just too make sure you have a back in cases something goes wrong
Hi
I recently tried to install a theme from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/themes-apps/theme-systemui-themes-n910u-5-0-1-t3097608
for my note 4 910F.
I did all the steps (Copyd the apk, changed permissions to 644 than overwrote the original system ui apk, i made a backup of it, also have titanium backup)
after the install my phone now comes up with the msg Unfortunately systemui has stopped, every like 5 seconds.
i tried titaniums restore, wiping the cache from twrp and than a factory reset from twrp, but to no avail i fear i have broken my device any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Bear in mind that i rooted the phone yesterday so im new to this.
Thank you
Download the stock ROM from sammobile website and flash it using ODIN tool.

Thank you very much it worked perfectly.. even upgraded to 5.1.1
I have a few questions tho as im new to this: I messed around with it more before flashing the stock ROM and heres what i did. Managed to push the original systemUI.apk on the modified one, that resulted in my top statusbar dissapearing, but there were no more popups of systemui crashing. However i notice that the systemUI.apk is now not installed at all... atleast the phone does not recognizes it as already on the device So next i manually installed the systemUI apk, the original one. It went trough with the install but then the phone completely broke and any animation froze it. After that i did what u suggested.
So my questions are: What did i wrong when installing the custom theme ?
Why didn't pushing the original back/installing the original work ?
Why didn't i loose any of my apps photos contact details after installing the new Firmware ? (still have everything... not complaining its just weird how a new op system install didn't wipe my data)
Thank you so much again for Your great suggestion.
Hey thanks for reading.
Well my name is Candii an Im trying to get Xposed Framework to work. I have a Lg Leon. 5.0.1 An this is the second time trying to get this to work.
First time I have Kingroot downloaded an Twrp as well. So when i first did it I got the Xposed Zip file from Xda and went to recovery mode an installed it that way. When i did Xposed Framework worked. But than i wasnt able to download anything from playstore an also from online. I looked an looked everywhere for how to fix it but couldn't find anything but it could be because i downloaded a custom rom. But said the only fix was clear cache, all app defaults an if that didnt work factory reset. And had to start completely over because stupidly I forgot to do a backup before I started. So finally i said to hell with it an reset it. Now that ive done that now Xposed is saying my device isnt compatable with Xposed.
Am i downloading the wrong zip file when you have to choose between sdk21 than it says something to choose between 86/ or am. Than it has another set of numbera an stuff to choose from. Could i be making the wrong zip file?? Please help Im so lost. Ive been trying my best to learn about custom roms but this is kicking my ass. Thanks again for reading!

For your phone, you must download Xposed for sdk21 and arm.
Direct link: http://dl-xda.xposed.info/framework/sdk21/arm/
You can download any version, recommended is the last.
Would I download the one that has acs at the end before before zip? And if it does the same as last time an doesnt let me install anything from web or playstore how would I fix that?? Thanks so much for replying to my post!!

About installing, it is because you haven't wiped cache and dalvik cache. Go into recovery and wipe them

Go to install and youll need to find the gapps mostly you see it already if not go to the location were you installed it. You shouldnt unzip the file without twrp. Make also sure you installed it.
