Hey guys just wondering if i can cross flash roms for j5 2016 variants since their specifications are the same and i also tried flashing twrp made for another j5 2016 model for my j5108 model and it worked without any problems.. Since there is no support for j5108 model, i cant even find stock firmware for my j5108 in samsung firmware site.. So is there any harm in doing so . Any help would be appreciated.....

Roms shouldn't be as harmful as kernels. You can try but make a Nandroid backup. Good luck!

Hi there, I'm a SM-J5108 user as well.
At updato.com you can obtain J5108 firmware, so in case anything gone wrong you can reflash the stock firmware.

Plz do not Flash firmware of another variants on your phone. The model number is different it could brick your phone
I'm now attempting to port Android 6.0 SM-J510FN firmware to SM-J5108, but have no ideas cuz I didn't study computer in school...

ok friend, thank you very much for the tip, however if you have any information thank you to offer my greetings
Maybe one noob question:
Can I use J510FN firmware or custom ROM on J510MN w/o problems ir I would expect some bootloops?
probably would boot loop so don't do that
I wouldn't try that if I were you. While it is most likely that there will be a boot loop or the device will not boot at all, if it does, there is going to be some problems with WiFi and Bluetooth modem due to varying baseband.
Im having issues with my S5 g900t, currently running omega rom, but i cannot get all the band frequencies i need for australia. Is there a custom rom for g900i? I have tried to flash the telstra firmware, but odin keeps erroring out. Any help is greatly appreciated

From what i understand omega v20 does not support 900I. It also uses phoenix kernel which I have heard has compatibility issues with 900I. Try Omega V18 (lolipop) or if you want a marshmallow based rom, try something else. Remember that these posts were posted years ago and that last year's "latest TWRP" is not THE latest TWRP.
you may want to flash original firmware via sammoblie to get you out of this predicament first.
edit. also post on a more appropriate thread next time. or else no one is going to find ur question

Ok guys, This has not been just a problem of mine but also every Galaxy J5 users. The marshmallow update has quite a good UI and other stuffs. But in long term use I found this really annoying. And I want to downgrade the firmware. So I downloaded the latest firmware from sammobile.com . Now using odin when I try downgrading, I get the problem
sw rev check fail :[aboot]fused 2>binary 1
The model is:J500H(2015)
Is the downgrade really impossible? I even tried using TWRP but it isn't working either. I eagerly wanna go to lollipop while marshmallow is getting frustating day and again. So guys if you have any solution regarding this please suggest me..

Unfortunately, there isn't any way to downgrade as far as I know. It only happened for J500H and there is a warning thread, but not all people are aware of that...
You gotta blame Crapsung...

I recently got the SM-J730F/DS and i wanted to mainly get rid of the operator loaded firmware by flashing a stock or custom rom ... the problem is that i cannot locate any firmware for the SM-J730F/DS model? flashing the normal SM-J730F will work fine with dual sim support? And lastly which custom rom can someone suggest that runs without any bugs on my SM-J730F/DS
THANK YOU !!!

You can flash any firmware which is compatible with j730f.
I have XenOs but it is not without bugs ,i do not think it is custom rom without bugs.
My device is also a 730f/ds and I havent had any problems with a rom related to hardware. As far as I can tell the last two letters indicate the amount of internal storage and sim slots. Any given rom for J730 f should work on your device.
Even if you are stuck on a bootloop you should be able to enter recovery and flash a different rom.
Thank you guys for your help, so if i really wanted a custom rom on there which one would you suggest the most that has the least amount of bugs?

To find out which variant firmware to download, just look at what country you live in and what carrier the phone is locked to. If it is unlocked, just find out the which is for your country.
