Hi guys anyone know a source of the rear screens or the glass only (EPD e-ink) plus touchscreen still working fine, mine cracked and don't really want to write off the phone.
Also if it's not user replaceable has anyone had any luck with a service center in UK or EMEA ?

I bought mine on eBay from e2_shop.
Not sure if the link works but for instance: Brand New OEM O2 Exec/Qtek 9000/MDA Pro Full LCD screen
Broke my screen a couple of days ago.
Im on my way to buy a used universal (need new screen + frame) and I wonder If I will be able to replace the screen + frame without hardresetting the unit. I have downloaded the service manual but I couldnt find any info regarding that. If any one have any useful tips on replacing screen + frame plaese let me know. Do I have to take the phone apart or is it possible to replace screen and frame only by loosing the screen?
Thanks in advance,
Miki
Hi friends,
I've broken the digitizer of my Qtek S100 and I was wandering if it was really possible to replace ONLY DIGITIZER without LCD, since it still works perfectly, just the glass of touch screen is cracked and in the upper area of the display is difficult to digitize.
I read over the net that somebody has separated the two components, and I find plenty of offers for the only digitizer, but e.g. without instruction and adhesive film to put between LCD and Digitizer.
Once for all I'd like to understand if it's possible or not and, in affirmative, if somebody has really done this and if this superboy can explane me/us how to do.
I think there's a lot of Magician/Qtek S100 owners in my same situation, since it's very common to break the touch screen.
P.S. I broke it in the worst way it's possible, since I was trying to pull some air bubble out of the screen protection film...I pressed too much and...that's it. So...BE CAREFUL WHEN DOING EVERYTHING WITH YOUR DISPLAY !!!
Thank you all in advance.
no answers...
Hi, I see that 190 peoples have been interested to my question, but no one has posted any reply... Is it possible that nobody can give US an answer ?
This question should have been asked on the magician accessories thread and not in here...
anyway, if you want a digitizer, buy one on ebay. There's alot of people selling digitizers for the magician.
Regards,
Keeper
I have just got my replacement digitizer in the mail 2day from Hong Kong and installed it just now, all is working perfectly as new again. I did a hard reset when the touch screen was first playing up, so I have lost all my themes, settings etc but luckily my office docs etc are still intact.
Anyhow, I made a video on how to replace the touch screen, its only quick as I did not go from the disasembly part, as there is already videos and tutorials on this, so I just documented on the actual digitizer replacement, which is actually basic 2-5mins work, but I thought a vid would be good for any noobs needing it in the future.
Once I edit it all up I will post the video here.
If anyone needs help on replacing the digitizer just ask. DON'T be tricked into buying the LCD + Digitizer if you only need the touch screen, as it is very easy to do without the lcd, though some ppl disagree.
Thanks for reading, thread will be updatd with Vid asap.
Hi X86
I have a crack on the upper plastic case, thats prob. why I have dirt showing on screen. In your opinion where is it located and can I clean it ?
It seems as if (if the crack is on the actual original housing, not just a add-on case) that dirt/dust has fallen down inbetween the digitizer and the LCD, so you can see it through the touchscreen right?
This is fairly simple to fix, you will either need to patch up the crack with silicone or something (best from the inside so it does'nt look messy) OR buy yourself a whole nw housing which cost about US15-$20.
Then just pull your elf/in apart and use cotton tips and wipes to thoroughly clean the LCD and insides.
If you need any help, just let me know via PM or here.
?Good Luck!
Thanks
That was my feeling, now I just need courage to take apart the casing (either repair or replace )
Thanks for bringing up this issue in the forum and extending your hand to others.
I appreciate it alot.
Hi x86
I have read the sticky for disassembling the elf. Can you tell me if it's necessary to unscrew anything and remove the rear speaker in order to remove the front panel ?
Edit: I think I found the answer in the next pics, the 4 screws attach to the front panel, right ?
Hi, i've just entered the world of winmo. i've recently wrecked my Elfin. But i can't seem to figured it out whether it's the LCD or the digitizer is broken...
1) my Elfin's screen turns to white with a few red and black stripes on the lower left corner, it doesn't react to any touch gesture.
2) i can still activesync the device and seems that my SD card is still working, i could copy out my PIMcontacts...thank goodness
3) the alarm still rings the next morning, i assume my device is still operating, of course now i've taken out the battery.
4) i've ask the phone shop for repair enquiries and they said that the replacement parts are not for retail selling in my country, Malaysia... so it needs to send back my Elfin to OEM and takes about 3 weeks time and cost around USD $ 130 bucks....
5) my friends told me it wasn't worth it, thus i was thinking of looking for help online and finally i found this thread...
6) can anyone offer few pieces of info? i thank you 1st.

That sounds like both a Digitizer and LCD issue.
Red and white strips is caused by the screen, while the phone not sensing your fingers is caused by digitizer.
But you still managed to use something like mymobiler to rescue your stuff right?
Yeah, you're in Malaysia right? In Singapore, to get this items, we have to get it off ebay or dealextreme.com.
But be careful with this, it void warrenty.
If you send it to HTC service centre, it may cost $160> Singapore dollars.
Cheers,
Jeremy

Hello guys,
My HD2 was fallen on his screen yesterday. He seems to be in good state but it is just in aspect, the screen don't display anything except white strips and, the touch ability seems not working at all (When I press to do a slide to unlock nothing happens => no vibrations). In the right hand corner, the lcd screen seems to be a little broke.
You could see the problem at this link: http ://img25.imageshack.us/i/imgp0001by.jpg/
Do you have any ideas of causes of this? I have to change lcd screeen and capacitive screen? And it is possible to do it of my own?
Thanks for your answers and if you have any tutorials or other help, I'm grateful.

The cause is obviously it being dropped. Yes you have to change your screen if you don't want to have a broken one and may have to get a new digitizer. I don't know you so I don't know if you have the skill to do this yourself. If you have a warranty then carry it back so they can fix it, if not (or that's not covered under it), take it to a cell phone repair shop. They should have the equipment to fix it (digitizer, lcd, etc..) and you can pay for the service and equipment there.Hope this helps.
Thanx a lot theonew I try to see that quickly!
Do you have some reference on the web to get this components? A serious website selling this both components?

You could go here: http://www.dinodirect.com/htc-hd2-t-mobile-touch-screen.html and here for lcd (with tools for installation is optional): http://www.smartphonebay.net/LCD-Screen-for-HTC-HD2-p/lcdp-htct8585.htm. I could not find both on one website. Anyways, I hope you can fix your phone.
Ok, to fix my phone it's 200 euros, I'd like to try to fix it on my own and now I'm at this point: http: //img835.imageshack.us/i/imgp0001c.jpg/ and this http: //img59.imageshack.us/i/imgp0002le.jpg/

Well, You always can buy LCD and digitizer from eBay, taken apart or already assembled LCM (about 80-120$ for digitizer+LCD module). You have to be careful which model you buying if you decided to buy LCD and touch apart, both must be for European version of HD2. LCM assembly are compatible for any model of HD2 LEO, I've tested both T-Mobile and EU at my EU version of HD2 and they worked very good.
Separating the digitizer is not a easy job, most cases you have two broken pieces in result, but if you still want to separate them, first thing to do is to heat them to about 60*C (Celsius degree), then separate digitizer from LCD with a sharp-edge thin plastic sheet, i.e. a credit card with sharpened edge. LCD and digitizer are sticked together with a kind of black double-sided scotch tape, it is easy to see it but it is very easy to damage digitizer during this process due to very thin Indium Oxide wires on it that is easy to scratch.
The best thing is to buy fully assembled new LCM and simply replace your old LCM. In addition You nave to remove old LCM adhesive from phone housing to assure proper alignment of your new LCM. It can be removed with ethanol or isopropanol (take a cloth, wet it well with same alcohol and gently rub the grued surface until it will be clean).
Here are the Official HTC HD2 Disassembly/Assembly Training Videos but there all components are new and unused.
