Hello,
I just received my new S7 4GB+64GB.
I fully charged it and booted ok. I connected it to the local WiFi and started downloading the new OTA update. When it reached about 40%, it rebooted and started bootlooping. I cannot even turn off the phone.
Check the attached video.
Any ideas?
thx
I'm afraid to say that your device might be broken.
Just like one of the many users, elephone failed to ensure proper quality control before dispatching the phones.
I would recommend you to ask for a refund and if you're still keen then make another new purchase of this device.
Try this for boot loop
You can try running the phone down till it is empty and then recharge it and see if it comes out of the boot loop or 1. Hold "Power" and "Home" buttons to turn off your Android phone, you will enter the Recovery mode
tey to exsaust battery, flash new rom according to the info on Development thread
I have already tried that, but it keeps restarting even if recovery is loaded. It looks like power button is always pressed.
thx

Hi, I'm hoping someone can advise on a strange issue I have with my phone. If I power down the phone then it powers back up in download mode. If I take out the battery then put it back in, the phone will automatically power up in download mode.
While in download mode, if I hold the power down for 5 seconds to shut down the phone then quickly hold vol down + home + power then the phone loads to the "Warning!! a custom OS can cause critical problems in phone and installed applications" screen. From here, I can press vol down to "Cancel (restart phone)", after which the phone boots normally and everything appears to be fine. All the buttons work perfectly and there doesn't appear to be anything else wrong at all. However, powering down will again cause the phone to go into download mode.
The phone was previously rooted, but while trying to repair the issue I have flashed a stock firmware and tried a factory reset. This doesn't appear to have changed anything though.
In download mode the Binary Status is now Samsung Official and the System Status is Official too (which I'm hoping means I won't be refused a warranty repair). I think the phone may have got a little damp at the Reading festival last weekend, but I find it strange that nothing else appears to be wrong with the device apart from this weird boot loop.
Any suggestions to try something before I take it back to the shop would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.
Hi guys,
Been a samsung user since S2, unfortunately ive made people bring me their devices so i can polish them, if not fix.
I got an i9505 at the moment with a very strange issues:
It boots up, hangs on the boot logo.
It boots in Download Mode, but volume up button wont work, i've opened the device and yet the button was fine.
Sometimes just connecting it to the PC using USB, the device vibrates as if it's turning on, though it vibrates every 2-3 seconds. Device is Off btw.
Recovery Mode wont boot, Home Button + Volume Up + Power Button until the thing vibrates, i release the power button, and it just hangs there. Makes me doubt it is not even reaching the point where it knows where the recovery is. However, i got it in to the blueish "booting recovery..." once, but it hanged there as well.
Am clueless here, (re)searching usually brings me near the answer, but it hasnt, i hope the answers here will do it for somebody else.
Edit: since i am doing this out of pure compassion, i have no idea what is loaded inside .

Flash a stock rom base in your country mate via odin and you can download it from here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/2/ , then once your done downloading the file, Boot into Download mode (Power+VolumeDown) , Open Odin select PDA /AP , Connect both cables (Wait until you get a blue sign in Odin)and flash away.If you encounter any issues with the firmware (Any FC, Bootloop etc)Boot into recovery mode (power+vol up),Choose to wipe/factory reset. (THIS WILL ERASE ALL OF YOUR DATA INCLUDING YOUR INTERNAL SD CARD! Then choose reboot and you should be good to go! Have a nice day
Mate, is there a way to flash through Odin without pressing the Vol Up button, cause i am not aware of that?
I cant get past the first point of download mode, to actually enter you need to press Vol up.

Hence the thread. There was no other option left.
I usually do this to gain the knowledge for future use, is this a common death for the S4. the user that had it is definitely not a flasher, what couldve gone wrong?

Hello,
I'm on LG G2 Stock Rom on Kit Kat (4.4.2). The phone is rooted but no custom recovery as I just need "root" to run Titanium backup.
Yesterday, I attempted to update the 1 XML file to increase speaker volume. Upon restart the phone will stuck on LG logo and does nothing.
I can access download mode. So now, i'm downloading LG Flash Tool and KDZ file for my phone to flash all back to stock.
The question is now: how do I turn off the phone? Pressing power button will simply restart the phone - it never goes to off.
Another question: if I don't install any custom recovery, is there any stock recovery installed? When I attempted to go to recovery (by pressing volume down + power method), I was presented with Factory reset questions. I clicked OK twice and then Android logo appears (it seems like it's attempting to really do a factory reset) and then phone reboots.
If I can go to stock recovery, I hope I can access the storage inside and redo what I did yesterday.
Anyone can help? Or share some knowledge?
Thanks
The latest software upgrade was installed by using LGMobile support tool. I'm back to stock and finish with ioRoot.
Now, going to use AutoRec to install recovery (better to have custom now, so if this happens again, I have a way to access my phone data).
No answers given but it's no longer urgent now. Still if anyone found a way to off the phone when boot looping other than waiting for battery to run dry, by all means, please reply the thread.
Thanks.

Unplug the USB cable if it's plugged.
Hold power button for like 30 seconds straight.
To turn off phone ,just push volume down and power button same time for like 7-10 sec, it will be like restart , but keep them pressed until screen shuts off again (it will take less then 1 sec). Thats all

I didn't time 30 seconds, but I did press power button for a long time. Is this method for when you can use the phone? Mine is during boot loop.

I can't say for sure now, since I have my phone backed-on. But I sort of press these buttons for a long time at the beginning (when I wasn't really sure how to go to recovery mode). But good to know about this - (for next time ).
thanks both!
Only method i know to completely shut down phone in any situation is what i already wrote in last post.

Agreed.
it happen to me too when I try to install MIUI ROM.
Pull off USB cable and long press power the power button
Thanks. I'll remember this, if I got unlucky and stuck in booth loops.
For now, I installed recovery, so hopefully if this happens, I can still access my internal folder and do the require changes.
Hi,
I thought I could enter the Hidden Menu and change the Fast Dormancy setting into disabled, so I did it and wanted to reboot my phone. The phone turned off, and was doing its boot up procedure, while it started behaving abnormally. The LG logo popped up for about 5 seconds (so it didn't leave the bootloader), turned off for 10 seconds and then again the whole process repeated. I thought that was a bootloop, so I turned it off, entered Factory Reset menu, chose appropriate options and waited for the reset, but the phone didn't perform the action. Then I tried to get into download mode, but to no avail - the phone kept going with bootloop. I'm still struggling to do this; the only menu I could get into was the Factory Reset one.
Could anyone help me get my phone back into function?
D802, 20G stock
Thanks in advance!
That's weird. I always disable fast dormancy after a reset or a new rom flash and I've never had any issues.
What comes instead of download mode? If nothing, Are you sure you're doing it correctly?
Press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds.
Plug the phone into the cable, then press and hold volume up and plug the cable into the computer. That should trigger download mode.
Thank you for your help.
I know that's weird, I've entered Download mode numerous times using the combination that you provided and can't do it this time. The strangest thing actually is that the factory reset menu does show up (though it does nothing), while Download mode does not - it seems to be actually unaffected by using the combination and is still stuck in a bootloop. I have no idea what steps should I take in order to recover my phone.
I forgot to mention that the phone wasn't even rooted then, which makes it even more mysterious...
Ouch! Well what comes up when you enter download mode? Fastboot? Black screen?
If you're still covered by warranty take it for a replacement. I doubt fast dormancy alone has messed up your device. If it truly has, then try booting the phone without a sim card.
Normally when I insert the USB cable with vol up button pressed, the LG logo shows up, then the notification of Download mode and finally the Software Update screen. But this time, only the LG logo shows for about 5 seconds, as if I normally booted it using Power button and does not get me into neither Download nor Fastboot mode.
Well, I took a look at other options in this hidden menu, but still, could it brick that hard even then?
I doubt whether I'm still eligible for a replacement, as the device had been rooted already (though it's not at the moment). The whole process also takes quite a lot of time, which is why I wanted to avoid it. Is there any method to bring it back to life?
I wanted to revive my phone using the method linked with flashing the whole partitions onto my phone, but Ubuntu didn't even notice that any drive was connected...
Am I doing something wrong? I mean e.g. is the combo Vol Up + cable still the same in D80220G? Is there any other way of accessing the phone through my computer? Can I somehow stop this bootloop from continuously happening? Doesn't the fact that I can get into Factory Reset menu help in any way?
Thanks for your help in adavnce!
Today, I was using my phone, and then it starting running really slow, so I decided to restart it. I powered it off like normal, but then when I went to try to turn it on, nothing happened. So I decided to plug it up, and that's when a screen came up saying the following message in red text on a black background:
Bootloader exception
[ AST_STAT = 0x10000 ]
Exception: do_handler_sync: DABT_EL1(esr: 0x96000010)
pc : 0x8f026210 lr : 0x8f0261cc sp : 0x8f117f60
I've tried looking up other solutions such as holding down power+home+Vol-up, and it does nothing. Holding down power button does nothing either.
Whenever I plug up my phone to my computer, it shows up as "SAMSUNG Mobile USB CDC Composite Device" in the device manager, but it doesn't show up as a drive like it normally would when I plug it into my computer.
My phone was also on android version 7.0 using the stock samsung ROM. I have never tried to root the phone either, so that shouldn't be an issue in this situation.
Does anybody know what I could do to try to fix this issue?
I would use Odin to flash a new bootloader or just a new ROM, but the problem is, I can't find any way to reboot the phone to boot it into download mode.
Haven't tried this since the s3, but maybe it'll work.
Search on here for Galaxy S7 USB jig

Hold power + volume down + home for 15 seconds. It's supposed to shut off from there and attempt to boot up, but if it's still getting stuck on that screen there may be a major hardware issue. USG jig wont work on S6 and S7 already tried before.
You can hold the combinations for longer until the phone reboots multiple times and you see the light blue screen prompting for confirmation to boot download (ODIN) mode.

The buttons seem to be unresponsive. No matter what combination I press, or how long I press, none of them do anything. The phone just stays on that screen until the battery dies. And as soon as I try to boot it back up or plug it into the computer after it dies, it just goes back to that screen.
Yours phone mbo is dead, try to rma phone.Emmc chip is dead on mbo,no flashing will bring him back to life.
