Good morning everybody,
I flashed the UK version of Nougat on my S7 Edge last wednesday (I'm from the Netherlands, so the update is not yet available on my device).
It worked perfectly and Nougat has been great so far (except for the headsup preview, wich I have since disabled using ADB).
But ever since the install I keep getting a pop-up saying that Authservice has stopped. I'll get a few of these in a row and then I'll get one saying Authservice keeps stopping. I can close the notification and tell it to close the app, and it will be gone for a while.
Does anyone has any idea what this is and how I can stop it?
I think it has something to do with Samsung Pay and the fact that Pay isn't available in the Netherlands yet...
But I've tried force stopping and disabling Pay, to no avail.
Thanks!
Install package disabler (or Titanium if you're rooted) and search for com.samsung.android.authservice then disable/freeze it. This should stop it.
just optimize your phone in device maintenance. its what i did..
:good: This worked for me. Thank you.
No it didn't at least. It only worked for a while.

Noticed that Google Earth had recently come available on the marketplace for the Desire.
I have it installed but am unable to use it properly as my desire seems to randomly reboot whilst using it.
1st time I fired it up I zoomed in one level to find only a black screen and then it rebooted.
2nd time I tried I managed to zoom in to my location and then it just rebooted with no black screen this time.
I updated to the OTA update that HTC pushed out the same day so was wondering if anyone else is experiencing similar issues or whether my update has gone sour and should hard-reset.
Also (very weirdly), while I was downloading Google Earth my phone was on charge and downloading over GPRS and the device become very hot. The device actually rebooted whilst doing this as well and got stuck on the HTC boot screen after vibrating at me 4 or 5 times. This happened twice so I unplugged the power and seemed fime after that.
So what am I looking at here? Google Earth problem? OTA update has partially broken my phone? Faulty charger/faulty device?
Phone was running absolutely fine up until that OTA update and Google Earth install......
UPDATE: Ok it seems my phone is rebooting whilst on charge as well no matter what im running, seems to get extremely hot. Looks like my issues could be a dodgy OTA update. Anyone experienced the Google Earth issues i've stated though?
i cant find the Google earth on my market place.. I'm in vietnam now..how can i install this app?
Try this

no problems here, i've the official ota update no costum rom installed.
Thanks......
Working fine here. I had it installed before the OTA update and everything is working nice and smooth.
Google Earth appeared in my market only 2 days after the update. I downloaded and it seems to be working fine, no issues. I have an unlocked unrooted Desire
Just installed earth on my updated unbranded unmoded desire and it works fine, I believe others have the same charging issue as you though.

Couldn't install the SDK6 version on my HTC Desire. It started installing but broke at the end, and left 92 images of icons in my photo gallery.
I'm having problems as well. The official link to mobile installation doesn't work, and I cannot find it on market either. Very annoying!
The .apk linked above does not seem to install either. Any other ideas, anyone?
installed it on stock rom no problem, used ut for a couple of days and deleted it, taking up to much space !
UPDATE:
I uninstalled Google maps updates because I thought it might be a very similar program and therefore interfering with Earth installation - and it worked!
I enrolled to beta programa like 3 weeks ago and everything was just fine, but yesterday after some apps updated the phone started freezing a lot, all the apps started crashing especially WhatsApp and Instagram, when I unlock the phone it takes like 5 seconds, also a lot of times when I go to the home screen after writing something, the keyboard stays on screen and it doesnt hides, I dont know what is happening, if someone could help me I would thank it a lot.

Don't mean to scare you, but that is exactly what was happening to me right before going into an unrecoverable bootloop. Nothing I tried revived the device, although there have been some that have been able to. I ended up RMA'ing my device as nothing I did brought it back to life. You might be in a different situation but just giving you a heads up.
*Bump*
Stock 7.1.1 and rooted here. I've been on the official 7.1.1 release for our 6P's since early December, and for the past week or so, I've been experiencing freezing as well. I'd be in the middle of typing in Hangouts, streaming music in the car via bluetooth and Spotify, or just waking the phone up from sleep. For the past few days, I've been getting 3-4 freezes per day.
On rare occasions, I've left the phone alone to settle, and it returns to normal, but more times than not, a hard reset is the only 'fix'; until the next freeze.
I reluctantly wiped the phone, unrooted, flashed stock 7.1.1 and re-rooted all via NRT last night. The phone froze again this morning coming off the charger...
Granted, it decided to restore 528mb's worth of WhatsApp history as soon as I unplugged it (why it didn't restore on charger overnight is beyond me though). Will update if it freezes again.
The phone runs butter smooth with zero issues other than these freezing occurrences though. MO, the 6P is the best all-rounded phone currently available, even if it's a year old already.
Appreciate any help or suggestions!!
That's odd try ex kernel and over clock or try HEBF manager on play store
Quick update. Couldn't bear the multiple freezes per day, so I called Google to ask for help. Apparently I've done everything I can on my end (including a factory reset and updating to the latest firmware), so they sent out a replacement 6P to me free of charge. They'll also be covering the courier/shipping costs for my old 6P too. Fantastic customer service. Kudos to them!! I called them Tuesday morning (20th Dec) Australian time, and received my replacement 6P Friday afternoon (23rd Dec). Very quick indeed
Half a day after setting up my replacement 6P, including updating to 7.1.1, I started getting the same symptoms as my old 6P. Freezing, unresponsiveness, etc. Persisted for another day and had enough. I've since done a full wipe and downgraded back to the final 6.0.1 release, and it's been stable as a rock for 3 days now. No freezes, lagginess, nothing.
So I deduce it might actually be a software issue with 7.1.1, and not a hardware problem. It appears a growing number of Pixel and Pixel XL users are also experiencing random freezes on their new phones running 7.1.1 too...
Looks like I'll stick with 6.0.1 until Google makes a formal announcement and something is done about 7.1.1. I've missed Xposed and GravityBox too, so 6.0.1 is all good. Most importantly, it's stable
Had you ever tried booting into safe mode to see if maybe an app was causing the issue? Maybe a compatibility issue between an installed app(s) and 7.1.1

Thanks for the pro tip. I did consider doing that with the replacement 6P, but the only apps that I had installed were the stock Google ones that came with 7.1.1, WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and SwiftKey. I just assumed if such popular apps were the cause, a lot more people would have pinpointed them as the problem?
I did however read a few users claiming SwiftKey to be the culprit prior to RMA'ing my old device, but even after uninstalling that from my old phone, I was still getting the freezing issues.
I got the nougat update a couple days ago and since then it will periodically say no sim.
Phone is stock. No hacks to turn off ads or anything.
Anyone else reporting issues?
I don't get the update yet, I do the trick to remove the ads, that could be the reason I don't get the update...?
You know how to go back to stock and get the ads and probably get the nougat update...?
Thanks
Hi There!
I'm in a kinda weird situation, never encountered before. A bit of background:
I bought Mi A1 recently (like a month ago in Feb'18), it came with Android 7.1.1 received a security updated shortly after and then upgraded to Android 8.0.0 (this was within a week of buying it).
I travelled to Italy and Switzerland after that, no issues there everything was working fine. Last week I had to come to Bahrain and since then no apps (not even a single one!) are getting upgraded/downloaded.
I scoured the internet hoping to find a solution, nothing yet! So far I have:
1. Cleared google play data (cache & data) - Multiple times
2. Removed and re-added google account - Multiple times
3. Cleared google play services (cache & data) - Multiple times
4. Factory reset of the phone - Multiple times
Still the problem persists. I read somewhere that this might be caused because of change in country, I updated the address on Google Play, still nothing! Also, as I mentioned before, I did travel to Italy 2 weeks before and there it was working perfectly fine. (don't think this is due to that, not sure though).
It's only working with a VPN (after selecting India server - My home country, where I bought the phone from), could anyone help me find a permanent solution to this, please!? I don't want to use VPNs, also, why does it work with a VPN and not normally? and this is happening on both mobile data & WiFi.
PS: I have another phone (a lil old, Sony Xperia: Android 5.1.1) which worked fine in Italy and here in Bahrain as well. - if this helps.
This might not work and maybe you dont even like to do, but if there's some roaming lock on software lvl with stock oreo update then try official ressurection remix, or official lineage os 15.1 (it will be out soon).
But that's the thing, I did carry it with me in Italy and Switzerland and everything was okay there. So, unless it is a country specific restrictions that has been introduced in Oreo (which I highly doubtful) the actual problem is something else.
And I would prefer a normal solution without having to use additional apps, coz that I am able to do now with a VPN.
New Mi A1 phone is failing in every way
Hi. I purchased my new 'global' Xioami Mi A1 in February and it was working perfectly. I'm in the USA. In mid March I received an update for Oreo and shortly thereafter my phone has become almost useless. Here are the problems I am now experiencing:
- Home button does not work
- Menu button does not work
- Phone keeps chiming but no notifications appear
- Nothing works in my notification pulldown menu
- Apps will not download nor will they update
- Phone will not reboot
- Phone will not reset... the reset option in settings has been disabled. The power/volume up reset option does not work either.
Does anyone know what is going on? How to fix this mess? Is a remedy being released? I called Xioami and they claim they can not help me because the Mi A1 has not been officially released in the USA... WHAT? ITS BEING SOLD ON AMAZON?... ANDROID/GOOGLE IS AN AMERICAN COMPANY ARE THEY NOT?
I'm not a techy, but please, if someone has an answer please kindly let me know if I need to move on to an iPhone. Thank you in advance.

Try factory reset - it`s the first thing you should do.
Second option is flashing firmware via MiFlash software.

Has anyone else noticed that their device certification in the Play Store suddenly shows "Uncertified"? My tablet is totally stock, never tried to root or unlock the bootloader. I just noticed that I couldn't download or update any apps, then suddenly saw this.
Any ideas about what's going on?
Fix
I'm not sure about the "Uncertified" status because I never checked, but I suspect you are having the same issue many other owners have after updating to 7.1.1. I had the problem as well, in which I could not update or download any apps in the Play Store. I would recommend looking at this thread: httpsCOLONSLASHSLASHforums.lenovoDOTcom/t5/Yoga-Book-Android/Lenovo-Yoga-Book-Android-Nougat-Breaks-Google-Play-App-Store/m-p/3834779#M466. (Replace the capitalized words with the corresponding symbols because I'm too new to post external links. The solution it lists about disabling adminstrators and removing VPN's and then restarting did not work for me initially. I ended up doing a factory reset, which solved the problem for a short time. Once it came back the solution from the thread fixed it and I haven't had an issue since.
It's absolutely sickening! Since weeks Google Services stuck on my both devices (X90F and X90L) I tried all the suggestions (factory reset and so on ...) given at this thread:
https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Yoga-B...aks-Google-Play-App-Store/td-p/3813570/page/3
Nothing works permanently and now, suddenly Play Store says: "Device not certified" . Both devices are not rooted and System-Build is LenovoYB1-X90L_100081_171013 / LenovoYB1-X90F_100083_171013
Turning on battery saver seems to be a viable workaround.

Not really
Btw I registered the uncertified devices now at https://www.google.com/android/uncertified/. But nothing changed in a positive way. On X90F sometimes over night play store runs and apps were updated. With X90F I always I have to stop play services and play store, delete cache and play store data. Then, after restart apps were updated too.
On both devices are running the identical apps and on my old Nexus7 (LineageOS Android 7.1.2) with same apps, activated builtin administrators and AdGuard-VPN all works flawlessly :good:
I think Lenovo urgently needs to deliver an update to get the devices recertified and pass the Android compatibility test.
Encountered the same. Is there still no fix or update from Lenovo for that?
