Massive battery drain when in sleep mode

I just posted a very positive review of the TF300 today and just got back home after being at work for ten hours. I left the dock and tablet at over 95%, but just got home to find the dock at 0% and the tablet at 46%. This is obviously awful and makes the Toshiba Excite seem great in comparison.
Settings:
MobileDock battery saving mode is on
Disconnect network during sleep is on
Set to balanced mode
Set to turn off after two minutes
I turned the tablet off before I closed to the dock and when just opened the display was off.
The only two listings are 64% for screen and 36% for idle.
Is this normal? If so, this is abnormal.

weird, i don't recall that ever happening to me... try it again, charge it to %100 and leave it on sleep mode at night and check in the morning if the problem persists. if so you may have a defective unit so return it using your warranty.

Another thing I notice is at least in Dolphin, the browser crashes when trying to view Flash video in full screen. I have never had that happen with any tablet or phone before. Weird. Like always, set in desktop mode for user agent.
Edit: Must have been a fluke since a restart fixed it. need to charge now anyway to see if I get the drain again.

I noticed if you turn off the tablet then dock it, the tablet will turn back on. But have never noticed a battery loss that significant. So be sure to dock the tablet first then power down the tablet.

Most browsers arent 4.0 optimized best browser i have found is boat browser its amazingly smooth and full screen flash is working

I've had mine for over a month now. Had something similar happen one time. Best I could figure out was ICS did not properly shut down a game I had running. I assume it was just a rare random occurence.

It did it again last night:
Made sure no apps were pushing data and turned notifications off for all apps
Restarted the device and opened no apps
Five minutes later I put the device to sleep (closed it).
The display was off
Result: This morning the dock was dead and the tablet was at 65%. This was after only six and a half hours (I usually do not sleep much).
The only activity was the display at 84% and idle at 16%. I checked a few times through the seam of where the KB and tablet are closed and the display was off for thirty minutes before went to sleep. I then had to get up a few hours later to let my dog out and the display was still off.
The last time I had problems like this was the infamous A500 problems where the display would come on, stay on and the device would die. In this case, the display is not coming on, yet the display is eating the battery and the device is warm (dock and tablet). The A500 was obvious, since the display was on.
Folks, I just want something to work correctly. My HTC View loses 5% over three days and my iPad 3 wifi loses 1%.
How can the display be off, yet the device be warm and the battery log show the display is the majority of the usage? No doubt the display was off (at least at the times I checked).

The display is the majority of the usage period. When in normal yesterday with 100% brightness the display used 99% of my battery use. That extra 1% was for the dozen or so apps I had used. The fact that the idle hit that high is a good thing but something else may be affecting it.
Have you tried disconnecting the tablet from the dock and then letting it sleep?

That is my next test, but if they can not behave together, the value of having the TF300 diminishes. I would need to keep them is need to leave seperate, since defeats the function for me.
I see the point in at least testing to see if the dock is the issue. Could be a bum unit, but also could be the dock does not like cards being left in.

My tf300t works amazingly without any battery problems.. I'm a very heavy user of it. also try getting that app that monitors background/network process...forgot name if someone could help. Also the dock could be at fault since the dock automatically turns on the tf300t same as if you would charge it with the cable it turns it on while charging.
I believe the build.prop mod contains something about deep sleep that might help ya but if ur in the 30 days just replace it why bother when u might have an intermittent defective unit . problems that can happen once in a while might be a pain in the ass later on.
I do not regret choosing this tablet over everything else on the market it works great and it is replacing a laptop for me.

I've had no problems with the battery on my tf300. It lasts all day when I use it (and because it's new I'm giving it some heavy use) and when I do need to charge it it only takes an hour or two. Maybe because you just close it something doesn't shut off. I don't own the dock.... Yet but when I do I think the extra life out of that will be awesome. On a second thought I was also wondering what would happen if you just left it on the charger overnight? I put my phone in a dock to make it my alarm clock every night with no problems. Is a tablets battery different that it wouldn't be healthy for it to be left on the charger? Or does it needs to fully drain then charge to 100%?

I agree it is nice system so hope I figure it out. My Office Max dock should be in soon, so have to return this dock anyway. OM was $100 (sale) and BB is $150. BB matched the OM price on the tablet ($350), but the dock was not in stock at OM. Ended up ordering one online from them.

I normally do leave it on charger but it is problematic when away from home, since uses as much battery as when on. Not to mention it can not be doing the batteries any good.

For process of elimination I tested the battery drain with the sdxc card out of the dock. This seems to help, but still have over 20% battery drain (a lot less, but still bad).
Next step is the tablet on its own and then I will test with my newer dock, since just came in from Office Max (need to return the $150 one to Best Buy). Hoping the dock was the issue since if the dock and tablet can not behave together, I will return them and not dwell on it anymore.
Hoping the drain is gone so can keep Having the sd card, micro sd and 32gb internal solves all my gaming and media needs, but need the batteries to not bleed out when should be asleep (not practical to travel with- as is).

Aftera few full cycles i notice battery depletion much slower also I keep the tablet in balance and performance when gaming things like nova 3 and tegra stuff etc. And around 25-30% brightness is more than enough indoor . My battery last me all day on 1 charge including the dock wich it charges arund 60-65% extra battery. This are just estimates through my experience with it not concrete data.

I have 40 more days to return the tablet with Best Buy, so want to see what the issue may be and avoid resinstalling everything and setting up if can avoid it.
I really like the tablet and also that it is not clocked higher (better for heat and battery). It plays N64, PSX and MAME Reloaded fine. Ditto for Flash and hidef video content. Touch response is as good as my iPad 3 and former Toshiba Excite.
Also, for $350 the tablet is REALLY nice. Not wanting to paying much more, since already have a 64gb iPad 3 (2X the cost of the Asus). I mainly use Android tabs for Flash sites that do not work on the iPad (Amazon Prime is example) and game emulators. Heck, even books and comics look sweet on the 300
Along with the dock, the 300 makes a GREAT mini-system for games and media
Besides, I am not a fan of 1920X1200 displays being pushed by the Tegra 3 and no gpu modification. The chips sweet spot is 1280X800. My iPad 3 rocks with hi res but has a bigger gpu to support it.
Update: Even with the new dock the batteries are sucking dry. 20% gone in a little over an hour. It is like the display is on, based on the drain.
Will test tonight with just tablet, since same result with two docks.

I hate to ask this because it's seems so obvious & condescending - but what have you installed? Did you try doing a factory reset? I've had 5 android phones and few times I've loaded some obscure piece of software that killed the battery. I've even loaded ROMs that sucked the battery down with no mods.
I ask because I just got my TF300 yesterday and played with it all night without charging it. I did the 4.0.30 OTA update as soon as it booted up. I let the keyboard completely die and left the tablet (undocked) this morning with 56% on it. I didn't put either on the charger because I want to see roughly how long it will run without doing so. I'm hoping I have no problems such as yours, but I'm watching this thread closely.

Ok, so you know what my usage is - Like I said, I left this morning (6:30) with the keyboard dock battery dead & the tablet battery at 56%. I got home this evening (5:00) and the tablet was at 53%.
Luckily I'm not seeing the problem you are (though I haven't tried to charge the keyboard yet), but at least you have a warranty to fall back on.

Weird Issue!

My tab was sitting on my desk in sleep mode. I picked it up and tried to unlock it and it seemed frozen for a moment, then let me swipe. It seemed fine after that. A few hours later I picked it up again and it was very sluggish and the back was warm and my battery at 15%. (it was at about 50% a few hours earlier) I rebooted it and it's fine, but I am wondering what caused it to get so warm. I know that happens when it's being used a lot but it was just sitting on my desk. There were no apps running in the background. Any ideas what could have happened? I haven't installed anything new in the last few days.

Are you running stock?

And we assume ICS (apart from stock)? But there are quite a few threads on the increased power-consumption on ICS (Stock and other). So might be some run-away process or service. What is the highest battery-user according to the device info? And how much? Has ICS gotten rid of the dialer goof-up for non-3G tablets?
P.S. Like the off limits (slap on the wrist) of the better half's tablet, same here :laugh:

Yes assuming ICS...my bad lol. It was more of a "tell me everything you've done lately" type of question. I have noticed increased battery consumption myself but that's why I switched ROMs today. If I lose a couple extra ticks on the battery in exchange for the performance I've gotten I can live with that
And yes I will lose whatever part of my body touches the wife's tablet. She's heard enough profanity in the last month as I got my feet wet hahaha!

The highest battery user is the screen. I'm thinking maybe the tablet froze and I didn't notice it. Having the screen on constantly for several hours is probably not battery friendly. I'm concerned because it's still warm between the Samsung logo and the camera on the back. It's not hot or anything, just noticeably warm, and it's just sitting there charging. I'm not using it.

I have (or you can do it yourself) to delve in other threads, where they dismantle the tablet. Is it a P7500, or just a plain P7510? I thought that the 3G radio-part was about there where it still is hot (residual heat probably by now), but I can be mistaken. If this is a P7510, then I do not know what would be there at that location. It certainly is not the battery, that is much lower...
I will try and find what is about there, but other solder-happy soldiers must be able to tell you exactly what is located there.

A friend of mine had a similar problem with his galaxy s2 locking up and needing a long-press power reboot to get it working again on stock ICS 4.0.3. The culprit ended up being android os in battery stats, but the problem has not happened again yet. As for the warmth on the back of your tab, this is caused by the processor running at full speed for extended periods of time. If your screen is on, and you are interacting with it a lot, then you should expect the upper left back side of the tab to heat up and not cool down until you stop using it. This is normal... if it continues to stay hot for long periods of time after the screen is off, then you are probably not going into deep sleep mode because of a rogue app. If you are rooted, install better battery stats and CPU spy to do a little more digging. Good luck, I hope you figure it out and get your tab running the way you would like it to.

I figured out what it was. I'd seen the Ebook icon in my app tray and tapped it. It took me to the Samsung App store. I left immediately but that visit apparently installed "Samsung Push Service" which was taking 62% of my battery and causing 100% wake lock. What a POS! I uninstalled it and everything is normal again. Won't ever visit the Samsung App store again.

I froze that app. Ugly. Glad you worked it out!

Reason for bad Battery life, sticky 1026MHz?!

So since I had my nexus 4, I had to complain about its terrible battery life.
I would never get more than 3h of screen on time, despite my best efforts in conserving battery. Even with the phone in flight mode and on Wifi, I could not cross 3h give or take a few minutes. I even tried disabling location, google now, sync and everything else.
It was deep-sleeping nice, while the screen was off, standby time was awesome for me. If I turned it on though, it started to burn through battery insanely quick. So I started monitoring the frequency states with battery spy, and noticed that as if there was a little load, it spiked to 1026MHz and then stayed there for about three seconds every time before falling back to 386 MHz. So I tried setting the max cpufreq to 916Mhz with CPU tuner, and was astonished to find out, that immediately after the load was done, it went back to the lowest frequency. Like it should be, not hanging for multiple seconds on the high step.
Also, If I start CPU tuner, the min freq is always shown as 1026MHz. So I changed min to 386 and max to 916. Afterwards, this stays until I swipe cpu tuner away from the recent apps list. If I start it again, the settings revert. Strange...
With my cpu limited to 916MHz, I get about 5h and 50 min of screen on time without any other measures. Location on, Wifi on, Google now and sync all active. If I just go one step higher and set my max frequency to 1026, the old behavior starts again, and screen time drops to 3h because it seems to be stuck on that freq. Therefore I would like everybody who also has bad screen time to try that out and report back.
I don't really understand why it would take so long to drop back from the 1GHz step, and drop back immediately from the 0,9GHz step?
Of course, this is with normal surfing via chrome, or using normal apps that are not that much CPU intensive. Also, you hardly notice the performance limitation without playing games. There probably is an easy way to fix this?
Feedback would be appreciated. Maybe I see this wrong...

tl;dr : if screen on, for me only 1026mhz is used, if max freq is set to anything lower, the phone spends most of the time at the lowest step 386mhz, greatly increasing screen time for me.

Maybe, but I really first wanted to examine out of the box behavior

This is caused by qualcoms Mpdecision which ramps up the cpu to 1ghz on screen on and touches. All in the name of speed. It's basically a hot plugging technique such that smoothness is guaranteed under loaded gui transitions and scrolling. Before this you would have to wait for the cpu to be loaded for it to ramp up speed. Now the OS can demand speed.
You can see in Franco kernel he replaced Mpdecision with an open source alternative and swapped the lowest cpu speed to 368mhz. Then added a load step of 768mhz (for 60% loads). This actually added a bit of lag but should be better in the battery department. Some more tweaking to be done though.
Qualcoms thermald is what is causing thermal throttling.
Edit: this could be wrong. But I think I'm in the general area of what's going on...

This does sound logical, but why the hell waste nearly half of the possible screen time on "perfect smoothness" when even if limited to 0,9ghz everything runs pretty amazing... I will look into francos kernel, even though I dont like to buy an app to tune it,

You don't have to buy an app, everything can be set through scripts. The app just automates the process, allows you to back up kernels, download the latest nightly and milestone (when one becomes available). It's really worth the investment, plus you're helping out a great Dev who has shared his awesome work with us for a long time.

I like my phone to sleep. I bumped it down to 384!
No need to keep it @ the 1.026, it will pretty much kill battery! Makes no sense to me.

You can set the max to 384 mhz.. and still everything is smooth

Can I use SetCPU or is that app defunt now? And to change my CPU speeds can that be done on a phone that's simply rooted or do I need a custom kernel?
EDIT: I downloaded CPU tuner, but I'm not sure if it's working or not. Does it work w/ stock kernel or no?

Faux's Intellidemand fixes pretty much what you're describing. Since mpdecision is not used instead of fauxs alternative.

Have to say firstly, that the perfect smoothness of this phone is what has sold me on it as the camera is well below average, it has some bugs and the output quality and volume of the audio is shocking, but it is the single smoothest phone out there.
Get rid of what I came to know as Touchboost (feature brought in in jelly bean to introduce the lag free experience of project butter I imagine) from my Sgs3 days, and the phone becomes as laggy as every other android phone out there.
Secondly, I get around 3.5 hours screen on time, without messing about, wifi on constant, depending on whether i'm on the net or not, I can get more.
I find AOKP perfect as its super fast and battery is excellent.
Franko kernel works, but the phone then feels choppy. Setting the cores to 1ghz makes the phone laggy also.
All I can say is, get lots of chargers, I have two at home, two at work, one in the car, one at the other halfs, and it's trickle charging when and if I can and I never worry about battery anyway. I find it wastes far too much life.

Thank you for not contributing to this thread with that useless comment. The rest of us may not want to charge the phone 1500 times a day (or are even able to), and are looking for ways to help battery discharge go slower while using the phone. If you're fine with charging your phone nonstop, then what are you doing in this thread? Everyone knows you can buy many chargers, that's not a solution.

Welcome to Project Butter. If you want to do something different than Google's goals for UI smoothness and responsiveness, which is what everyone has been complaining about in Android vs iOS, then you'll have to go the custom ROM/kernel route. Thankfully that is easily available to you on this hardware and software platform. Me? I like the N4 just fine the way it is stock.

Dude, this has nothing to do with googles project, but instead with Qualcomms responsivness "fix". Please read the answer to my inital post, and you will understand. Also, the phone does in no way feel choppy if you restict it to .9ghz. Except if you load it so much, that it cant cope with this max frequency. But then again, this is not the issue, but the issue is, that 1026 stays active for to long, so that it burns through your battery. There would be only a small change needed to change this behavior, and "possibly" loosing about a fraction of a second of responsivness, that most of the time you wouldnt even notice... Everybody who tells me he is happy with barely 3h of screen time or even less is just the android equivalent of an isheep, because this is in no way acceptable.

I'm getting around 4-5. Auto brightness, 1 Gmail push, 1 touchdown push, Google now on, HD widgets weather, greader pro syncing, falcon pro syncing, all location services on (I like the monthly reports). Wi-Fi when I can.

What kernel are u using? Im using franco kernel + latest CM 10.1 nightly.

My min CPU speed is 1 GHz and in still getting 4 hours on screen time though. I don't think setting my min at 384 MHz even made much difference in my battery, will try it again soon.

Stock never rooted bootloader still locked.

If you are getting bad battery... simply flash a custom kernel. You get to keep your stock ROM or whatever but you will get substantial benefits. I prefer Trinity Kernel. Only the second or third update on this kernel and now the phone has made huge gains in battery life. Like hfm, I good on screen time... usually 5-5.5. I have auto brightness on, mobile on 100% of the time, and all Google services synced including books, gmail, currents, google now, etc etc. I have locations on, gps on... everything. Sometimes I turn off NFC because I rarely am somewhere where I can use those cool RFID card scanners. What sucks battery is probably a problem in Android 4.2. The phone does not sleep as much as it should. Go ahead and turn all your sync stuff off and keep the screen on static and let the battery die at stock clock speeds. Probably will get at least 5 hours with auto-brightness on. My phone probably sleeps 60% of the time now according to CPU spy when it sits idle in my car for my 8-10 hour work day. I usually get to the car with a bunch of emails, a text or two waiting for me, and the phone has only been asleep the aforementioned 60% and around 90-91% battery life. On a new phone, starting from full charge, this should be at least 95%. My N10 that doesn't have mobile data, only loses about 1% overnight. Apples to oranges but still. I'm convinced that stock voltages on this device are too high, and that Qualcomm did not give Google the latest drivers... maybe because it's not releasable to AOSP as of yet. I really don't know, but it's gotta be something buggy. This SoC is capable of doing better... and it does in the Optimus G and even with sense, 1080p screen, and a 100mah smaller battery the HTC Droid DNA/Butterfly gets 3.5-4 hours stock screen time. None of the other phones using the S4 Pro are running 4.2. I'm hoping either Qualcomm pulls a Samsung and releases some updated drivers/firmware that Google can incorporate or that Google fixes whatever bugs they may have not worked out. In the next calendar year other phones will be out that use the S4 Pro and 4.2 and I doubt Qualcomm wants to lose the luster it earned with the regular S4 Kraits performance/efficiency. When 4.2 comes to other devices we will probably know whether or not Google is to blame for this or that the Nexus 4 is just a poor performer.

LRX21Q Improvements

So, I manually flashed the recent OTA. Felt like sharing what I have noticed.
For one thing, EVERYTHING is snappier. Going into recent apps is fast, home screen and apps don't take forever to load. That's a definite improvement. If it changes after running for awhile, I'll update.
Google Now's Always On voice recognition now works. I couldn't get it to work while away from the Google Now launcher before the update.
Uncertain about battery consumption with browsers yet. I'm hopeful, and the back of my tablet not being a toaster oven all the time while browsing on Xda gives me hope, but again, this is me just being hopeful.
Nothing for enabling the notification LED yet. Weird.
All I can see. Share what you've seen here.

Thanks for the impressions. Hopefully the excessive power usage while using browser is fixed or will be soon.
I will note though that even though it shouldn't need to be used to avoid using Chrome, I think that using Tapatalk to browse XDA is a better experience. IMO, of course.

I noticed this too and im glad it wasnt only me. Certain websites cause the tablet to heat up, sometimes taking up as much as 40-50% CPU in the background until i force stop it.

Just flashed and rerooted. I hope its smooth now

That heat is coming from the processor, that just means it's just under heavy load.

Sadly, WiFi 802.1x auth still doesn't work (PEAP) and the "Sign-in to Wifi network" screen is still blank for me. (Tested with Cisco Wireless LAN Controller at work.)

I've noticed the same thing. Basically the stutter and lags have pretty much been fixed. For those wondering the home screen refresh has also been fixed.
I've been testing battery life today in combination with the chrome beta browser. Where I used to get 4/5 hours of sot with a single charge I'm now at 4.15 minutes of sot with 52% of battery left.
The new update has done wonders for the n9 and it just shows how much lollipop is still in it's infancy and still needs some updates to get everything sorted out. I'm sure it's the same for the Nexus 6.

I think he is referring to the re-draw that seems to occur randomly when returning back to the home screen. Based on the impressions I may just flash the factory image to LRX21Q if these improvements are widespread. I still haven't received the OTA and can't sideload it because my tablet is still on the pre-release BL for some reason.

Was never a problem with my nexus 9. Working flawless.

It feels faster for sure, doesn't seem to get as hot either but maybe it does.

Yes I definitely see the improvement. I was one of the first buyers on the first day. But the unit I got has defected NFC chip. I returned it and got a replacement. Latest update definitely fixed the stutters and lags. I can vow for this.

Overheating and Screen Flickering
Do you think that the overheating issue near the camera and the issue where the screen is flickering when the device is not at full brightness, can be fixed by a software update or a firmware update?

Just a heads-up, this OTA provides a VERY significant performance improvement - there was a Kernel regression that they fixed on this build regarding memory cgroups. Its very noticeable while using the tablet with this new patch.

I haven't noticed a difference yet but I didn't do s full wipe when I flashed.

PSA for T-Mobile Priv users

Hey guys! I hope you're all enjoying your new Priv! I got mine on release day, so I've been tinkering with it since I got it. A few things bothered me about the device: the battery would take forever to charge, even using a Qualcomm certified quick charger, and the battery would drain abnormally fast. Even with no apps running, Antutu would only score 40,000 to 50,000 and 800/2500 in Geekbench.
I found out that the T-Mobile MyAccount app was always running in the background and took up 6% of my phone's battery, just above android OS. After I disabled that app, I found that a full charge would only take about an hour, versus the 2 hours it took before. Battery life also skyrocketed from about 8 hours to 14+. Antutu scores went up to 60,000 to 67,000 (I tested several times) and Geekbench now consistently scores 1200/3500 for me. The phone also doesn't get NEARLY as hot as it used to.
One other thing I did was to change all my accounts in the hub to sync every 15 minutes instead of push, which also seemed to help with the battery life. Hope this info helps you turn your Priv into the best phone it can be!

I heard that some people on Blackberry forums were reporting that T-Mobile My Account app could/is causing battery drainage. I didn't like my account app showing me notifications and went to options in that app and remove all the check marks from the there. I had no issues with battery, but as a precaution I always disable apps that I never use.

Thanks for the heads-up. Finally picked one up today and felt that it did indeed heat up quicker than it should and definitely wasn't charging as fast as I thought it should be. Hopefully this helps!

My Priv's battery has been an utter nightmare - gonna give this a shot. Have you noticed any adverse effects from disabling the app? My main concern is if BingeOn will still work. I'm okay with not being able to disable it (not a big video guy) but free music streaming is super important to me - streaming music at work constantly during an 8hr shift, in the car during my commute... yeah, I need that.
And, before anyone says anything, it's not the music streaming doing it. In fact, the battery seems almost better when I'm doing that since I've just got the phone sitting in my pocket. Wakelocks are an absolute nuisance though - "awake" time is well over 10x SoT.

BingeOn doesn't require any T-Mobile bloat to run. It's handled on the network side, not on the device itself. Also, unless they recently changed something, you don't need BingeOn enabled to get free music streaming. Music streaming is free regardless.

Thanks for that. So far the Priv is doing a fine job keeping itself alive now that app is gone. Nice to know I won't be blowing past my data allowance. I'm new to T-Mobile and so far, so good. Well, other than their app destroying my phone of course.

You'll get all that bloat with any carrier
I do want to point out that the Priv does an awesome job of standby. It makes sense that a 2K screen could drain the battery quickly, but I've gone 9 hours with only 40% drain when I barely use it, so it stays alive well when you aren't actively using it. I was also streaming music the whole time, but since the screen itself was off it saved my battery.

Yep, that's been my experience. On for ~16 hours with 3hrs SoT. Not bad, really. I wouldn't mind a little more longevity but hey, that's what power banks are for.

Here's my own battery experience. I only removed the t-mobile apps and using Facebook on chrome and not the app. I'm a moderate user 2.5 hrs of on screen time!

The screen is a killer on this device, but it shouldn't be quite that bad. Are all your BlackBerry apps up to date? Some people have to manually check for updates for some reason.
Also, I disabled every T-Mobile app except visual voicemail. No idea if that'll help or not but it's worth a shot.
Finally, how long have you had the device? Phones always seem screwy battery-life wise during the first few days, regardless of system health.

I disabled all bloatware, this phone dies WAYYYYY to fast compare to my prior note 5.
I really dont, but i'll need to trade back in this phone if I don't get this solved. A man needs a phone with a battery!

How about this one for a little bit over 2 weeks and so far it's been phenomenal for me 1 degrees in love with a good battery life is I disabled Facebook and I just use the web to look at Facebook so that save my battery by at least 20%.

Other than battery life, how are you liking the switch? I like but don't love my note 5. I hadn't had a note since the original version, but I'm finding again that I just don't use the spen. I'm thinking about jumping back into a blackberry with keyboard.

I'll take back what I previously wrote, as of yesterday I managed to get 24 hours on phone battery. at standby this phone doesn't use any sort of battery, I killed 20 percent in 40 mins on youtube though..
Going to give it a solid week, if not i'll return it and hopefully pick up the new s7 if release by then. I was on the same boat as you, got tired of the note and just wanted a switch. I'll keep checking back leaving my reviews here

I'll second this - screen off, next to zero battery used. Screen on, battery tanks like crazy. I think I'm gonna stick with it though I'm tempted to give the V10 a shot - I need a tough phone and this most certainly is not.
