hi,
I bought this phone from one week and there was already the paranoid ROM based on android 4.4.
The Rom works very well no lags etc. just the camera quality seems not too good (a lot of noise).
Anyway my problem is the "heads up notifications" like in lollipop... i get this kind of notification on whatsapp, calls, and specially every time that i launch the keyboard.. i hate this notifications! :crying:
There is a way for delete these notifications?
Thanks
Hello every one!
I couldnt find thread about Z17 mini. If i missed it please move it to the rights place.
I've been using my Nubia for 2 weeks and i couldnt set my notifications right.
Most of the time i get new messages on Whatsapp only when i open the application. I asked my Chinese Seller about this issue and All i've got was: "Dear. You can set your own."
If anyone can help i would be pleased.
Regards!

The problem with a Chinese ui is that it's killing the background push service. If you open recent apps swipe down the specific app and it gets locked. I guess you should have neo safe. In that you can setup power behavior for each app. Ignore background process of WhatsApp and so on and keep it alive in the menu.

This can actually be done, but it is a bit weird:
go to: Settings --> Notification center --> application notification --> down to Whatsapp
Enable all of them (or leave some out as you wish)
Also, in the current app overview (long press red circle) swipe down Whatsapp so it has a lock next to it. This will prevent the system from killing the service.
I also disabled powersaver mode and power saving control in the battery settings (below "other system settings")
Then I went into the NeoSafe app --> Power --> right top settings icon --> Background protection whitelist --> add whatsapp
Also in the NeoSafe I added Whatsapp to autostart: Permission --> Power-on speedup --> Enable Whatsapp
It might be that some of it is not necessary, but this works for me. Now I'm getting all the notifications as they come in Whatsapp
consider upgrade to latest OS build# NX569H_ENCommon_V1.07 shall fix all these issue
To get my messaging and email apps to work I've had to root and push the apps to the system. No problems now.
Thanks for All your answers.
Joren90 - I haven't even noticed NeoSafe app . I did what you wrote and I think it works!
*Do you know guys how to root this phone? Last phone I rooted was HTC one V.
*Will it get an official nougat update?
I'm currently using NX569J_ENCommon_V1.33 ROM version. Looks little bit Chinese
* One more question: Is it possible to get the notification counter on application's icon? I mean when I get a message on Whatsapp could I also get a "1" attached to WhatsApp's icon? Only rooting and getting extra app is a solution I guess?
Thanks again and have a nice day!

Official nougat ROM comes out in august for the mini.
For root u need to get the twrp script then flash the latest super user zip. This can be found here:
http://bbs.nubia.cn/thread-910474-1-1.html
For the notification counter another launcher might work.
Thanks Mackay53!
Nice to hear that Nubia gets official Nougat update.
But since I have no "system update" option in my settings menu do I have to upgrade it myself via some app/pc software??
After almost one week using my Nubia with new settings I'm gonna share a little update with you:
*All the notifications (WhatsApp, email) are working fine and I have no problems whatsoever
*The quality of the phone, speed of the phone, quality of the photos and videos are great as for the price I bought it (250€).
Although I like this phone already I really want to... sell it. The lack of OIS is bothering me. In fact it doesn't have any image stabilization... At least it doesn't work for me at all. The quality of videos is great but all the "shakiness" is killing the nice feel of the video quality.

You can install the update by downloading the ROM from the chinese Nubia support pages or the EU version from the nubia India support pages. You then need to enter recovery mode when phone is off by pressing and holding Volume Down and Power Button at the same time.
If you install twrp and root you can install a couple nougat custom roms (mokee + reserection remix) instead of waiting till august for official ROM. Phone becomes a lot more smoother and faster.

Lineage OS is out for Nubia Z17 too? https://www.getdroidtips.com/lineage-os-14-1-zte-nubia-z17/
Could I ask where you found the Resurrection ROM from please? Nothing came up via Google, thanks. How are the camera functions on a custom ROM? Could I also ask which ROM you're using and how it compares to stock please? Any bugs? Google apps working completely fine? Thanks!
Edit - were you talking about the Z17 mini or Z17 normal? Sorry to cause any confusion...
Just a little update... WhatsAp + unread counter without rooting

We were talking about Z17 Mini. But I guess they're both almost the same when it comes to OS.
I get the notification counter ? No rooting needed. I've installed Nova launcher and TeslaUnread plugin . But then you have to allow both apps (Nova+ Tesla plugin) in your NeoSafe app.
Btw. How is your EIS working? Anybody?
neosafe enable
how to enable neosage in the 2.04 global rom?, since the same e is inactive

I'm using global 2.10 and if I close an app, even it configured in autostart or reboot the phone, the notifications do not arrive, I already did everything and it does not work, there is no neosafe on the global, how to solve it?
hi guys,
to allow notifications do the following:
joren90 suggestion:
go to: Settings --> Notification center --> application notification --> down to Whatsapp
Enable all of them (or leave some out as you wish)
Also, in the current app overview (long press red circle) swipe down Whatsapp so it has a lock next to it. This will prevent the system from killing the service.
then go to settings --> Apps and in the top right corner there are three vertical dots
touch it and choose auto-start management
allow Whatsapp or app you need and it should work even when the power save management is on
works on build v2.10

This problem happens to me as well but with all my apps on the Nubia Redmagic 6s Pro... Is there a way that i can reactivate the "background push" and prevent that the Chinese UI kills it again?
Phone: Nubia Redmagic 6s Pro
Android Version: 11 (Redmagic OS 4.5)
Hi everyone! I just have an annoying problem with Instagram. Since the update to Oreo with the beta program, the face filters and now the zoom animation on the stories just don't appear . I have only the old face filters and since then in every pp's update the new things don't show up. :crying:
Has anyone the same problem and/or the solution? Thanks in advance. :fingers-crossed:
so want to ask you guys that are u Facing these issues related to software same as me ??
All the apps are not latest updated like dont kno why but all apps are updated but are sometimes missing features like chrome is to latest but same version is on my other op5 and that resulted in a bottom address bar but not in MIA1
when we are in landscape mode many times the headsup and the notification panel is pulled from the top left side (if rotated as power button is facing sky)
In instagram like there is no option for superzoom am on beta also ..i installed app after sharing and then it worked for 5-10 min on app close and destroy it reverted with no superzoom
most of the apps are not to latest version and cant get updates if we check
some small freez sometimes
worst is the google old dialer even the caller photos are not seen
I AM ON LATEST DECEMBER
If you guys have same issues then its ok mi is lacking otherwise tell me the solutions :crying:
1. not aware of any such app
2. didn't notice this, but I'm not using phone in landscape much
3. not using Instagram
4. didn't notice this, all my apps get updated regularly (though I hope you're aware of staged rollout of updates)
5. not a single freeze experienced
6. by default we have AOSP dialer which lacks some features, Oreo should come with standard Google dialer
Yes the bar in landscape goes from top left instead from center. Dialer is pissing me off too, but it just is supposed to call. Didn't notice any freezes though.
Yes and no for all your issues? You're cocky, aren't you?
1. Nothing like that here. Check your internet connectivity.
2. Haven't noticed.
3. I don't use vanity fair related apps. Still, out of curiosity I've checked Instagram and everything works - but I'm using the last stable December update.
4. Again, check your internet connectivity.
5. Haven't noticed any freezes so far.
6. The Google Phone app will be included as part of the Oreo update which is coming soon.

Internet is all good ..i am having both wifi and data (jio) works flawless but the apps are not as on the other updated apps (on other devices)
No issue with updating apps here.
I didn't have this kind of issue on notification comes from sideways in landscape mode.
No Instagram, not sure.
No issues with freezing after updated to December.
No one calls me. So....
Hi guys! Is it real? MIUI still can't handle push notifications (WhatsApp, Hangouts etc.) properly? I have tried every setting available. Notifications are still delayed. Does it work for you? Any hint what to do?
MIUI Global 10.3.4
Thanks in advance
No issues for me whatsoever if you've done this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79678456&postcount=3
For WhatsApp I don't lock it in recents, but the notifications are never late
Thank you for helping me out!
My settings are pretty much the same. No luck here (primarily using Hangouts). It's not reliable.
Have you tried locking it in Recents (the app switcher)? That should do it as it effectively keeps the app open. Although I try not to do that unless an app absolutely has to be running at all times (in my case Notch Test, AccuBattery, Blokada).
My ROM is MIUI 10.3.3 EU. If you continue having issues, you should try disabling Adaptive Battery as well, in battery settings.
Yes, tried locking Hangouts in the recent apps switcher, but no success. WhatsApp seems to work smoother with adaptive battery off indeed. EU version 10.3.4.0.
Update: Not really. WhatsApp notification again 10 minutes late!
