I got an att lg g2 a few days ago with stocked firmware 80010d. Everything worked very well. I then flashed my cell to att 4.4.2 kitkat (80020c) with lg flash tool. The updating process should be successful because I strictly followed a video tutorial and everything is expected.
After flashing I realized that the picture quality of both front and back camera are very poor in some video chatting software (I used Wechat and Hangout). How poor it is? Most of the time my picture is totally black unless you put a light source in front of the camera (both front and back camera are experiencing the same thing). It seems the brightness level of the camera is set to its lowest value so everything is dark, and there is no way to adjust it in the video chatting software. (I do try to set the ISO and brightness to maximum level in camera app, but nothing is changed). Attachments show screen captures in Hangout with or without a light source in it.
Occasionally (it happened once when I had the phone fully charged), the brightness level is good, but the picture quality is extremely low. It seems the camera resolution is only 0.1MP instead of 2MP.
The camera itself works very well taking pictures or videos. It is only bad in video chatting. I searched hard on google but it seems my case is very rare. Is there some settings or adjustments I can do to fix this problem? I know my question is too long, Thank you for any advice.
Guess this is really rare. I will roll back to 10d and see what happens.
My wife's new LG G2 is doing the same thing and she is on stock kit Kat uprooted, came f e on AT&T on 10C, I'm using ClodyPro II on mine and mine works fine. Her problem is exactly like yours

So found a fix, just did it for my wife's G2 which as I said has the same issue, or had. I used the Flashtool to taker her back to 10d then I rooted, installed recovery, updated recovery, and flashed the 10d to 10c keep root and recovery in the AT&T G2 Dev Section, after I backed up first and preformed the install I immediately did a factory reset to wipe data, cache, and dalvik before I rebooted from recovery. Once it was set up, I tried hangouts and the camera looked just like mine, great!! Thought I'd share

Exact same problem here after update to kitkat. Video call in Hangouts app is bad but Skype works fine for me.

Same here, I'm using WeChat and Hangouts video chat which produces black/darker front video.

I just got a brand new G2 and the front camera is really bad when using video chat.
Using stock 4.4.2
My old htc phone was much better.
Same problem... sh*t AT&T......
Unable to detect flash in camera like when we touch screen it should spark flash so that we know were person or thing is in dark area but in zenfone 3 when i touch screen it doesnt spark flash and i tried thrid party appilications also but i think this bug is from system so its present in every camera app so plz fix this in nxt update and u know m like of guy who usually use camera at night so its bit embarrassing for me......plz asus fix this asap

My problem.
When i use the flash to take a picture in low light or darkness my pictures come out black or reaaaaly dark.
The flash either goes off to fast or is to short. It only seems like a micro second.
When i focus the camera it does emit the light to focus.
The solution i found.

I am getting very annoyed by this problem and the fact that i spend 3 hours searching for a solution i cant apply had me mad as hell.
Edit: forgot to metion i tried all options i could think of with the camera setting. Even downloaded a 3rd party program called camera vf5

I am using the Arnova's 8.2 GCam on my Zenfone Max Pro M1 but once in a while, it crashes when I try to use the front camera. When I again open it, it works fine.
Any fix for this? And is there any other version of GCam that is better for Zenfone Max Pro other than Arnova's?

Have you installed camera2api first ? Mine is working fine, try clear data and cache.
Hello to all,
After my Galaxy S10+ Exynos updated to Android 12 One UI 4.0, the camera recording video started to get some sort of lag or image "freezes" (it's hard to explain, English is not my main language) using a FHD 60 resolution and the video stabilizer and HDR turned on. The video recordings used to be completely smooth with these settings before the update.
I would like to ask all of you if any one is having the same problem, or if can anyone test these settings so I can try to figure out if this is an update limitation or anything else.
Tips beside factory reset will also be much appreciated.
