Nexus 6P: Seperate System Volume - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was wondering if it was possible to seperate system volume from ringtone/notification volume on the Nexus 6P.
I am rooted, running PureNexus 7.1.1-20170106-Official
Any help would be appreciated

Isn't it in settings, sounds, then under the volume sliders saying something like "link notifications and ringtone"?

Yes, well the Ring volume controls the system volume it seems, so I can have notification volume muted but then I would need Ring volume up high wherever I wanted system volume.
So I'm wondering if there is a way to unlink Ring and System volume, obviously this is very specific and really not a problem, I was just used to it on my LG G4.
Thank you for helping me realize that Ring volume was linked to System sounds and not Notification volume!

System volume affected by volume in apps with sounds

Is it possible to change the volume in youtube, musicplayer or coreplayer without affecting the system volume, I am bored to have to adjust the system volume every time I change the volume in youtube or other application that has sound, for example if i put the volume in youtube on maximum, my ringtone and notification sounds are put also on maximum. Is there a way to solve this issue?

[Q] Audio Issue with System Sounds like Audible Selection

When I first got the tablet I baaaarely.... could hear any Audible Selection sounds like clicking Back or Home. I adjusted every volume bar and rocker at my dispose with no luck. I downloaded a third party app that allowed me to adjust "System Volume" which fixed the audio level issue. I could now hear the unlock sound and the Audible Selections.
Why is there no native way to adjust the the System Volume? Anyone else experience this issue?
Hear is the break down:
The First volume bar represented with a speaker icon adjusts ONLY the Music Level(Instruction books says that this volume bar should adjust the system Volume level.)
The Second volume bar represented with a Bubble with Exclamation in it adjusts both the Alerts and Ringer Volume.
The Third Volume bar represented by an alarm clock or course only adjusts the alarm volume.
Also, The volume rocker only adjusts the music level only not the system volume level.
Looks like there is a firmware boo boo. Sammy needs to push a fix. What I don't doubt is that they're aware issue and probably will not fix it until touchwiz is pushed.
Like I mentioned in the previous thread, it's dumb and my EVO had the same issue.
I think it's caused by putting your phone/tablet into silent mode and it forgetting to unlock the system volume again. They probably forgot to enter statement in the code to tell it "BE LOUD AGAIN."

Click to collapse
I understand that.
Just wondering why the the volume rocker or any other volume setting will not adjust the system volume level unless I install this third party app.
I've not had this issue with my android devices and this feature is adjustable on my Captivate and Nexus S.

Feature Request for Linking Media volume to Ringer and Notifications

Does anyone know if there is an app or setting for our phones that will allow me to link the media volume to the ringer and notification volume? I'd like to use the rocker to mute my phone completely. I often find that i'll use the rocker to vibrate or silence my phone but then open an app that makes a loud noise at inopportune times. I don't feel like pulling down the notification drawer and manually adjusting the media volume every time i enter a quiet area is the best solution.
Ideally, i'd like the media volume to be linked but adjustable through the pull down menu to its own volume. When a volume rocker is pressed, I'd like the media volume to snap to the same volume that the new adjusted ringer/notification volume is at. This will promote the most functionality with the least loss of control.
Users will be able to modify their media, notification, and ringer volume on the fly with the rocker while in app. Separate volume control is preserved through the notification bar or by clicking the down arrow on the volume bar. Then, whenever vibrate or silence is required and vibrate/silence is activated with the volume rocker, users could rest assured that no errant link, snapchat story, or random screen press will play something that is unrestricted by the volume rocker and delegated by media volume instead.
I'd appreciate the help and i believe many people would benefit from this functionality.

Unlink ringer volume and system volume in Oreo?

Hi guys. I just wanna ask if there is a way to separate or unlink ringer volume and system volume? I have viper4android installed in my phone but it also increased my keypad press even I set my keypad press volume to the lowest 5% of my keyboard. I want my ringer volume in full but I still prefer to have a keypad sound not too loud. I downloaded some programs from playstore that has a separate ringer and system volume control but everytime I lower the system volume the ringer volume also lowered. Is there any way or tweak to unlink the ringer and system volume? I'm running the latest android oreo firmware. Hope someone can help me. Thanks guys.
