Are there any ones out there? I've tried basically everything to get selinux set to permissive already but from what I understand of it it's a kernel setting so it can't be done without using another kernel
I was thinking that I was gonna try installing some J500FN Rom's/Kernels on this one and see if it works. Will report back when I do
Be careful man!!!
You can easily brick your device!
About Overlocking.
I see some great kernels with CPU 1,8 Hhz and GPU 700 Mhz on other devices, but with this chip.

Why do you need a permissive kernel?

Hey, sorry if this is a repost but I need help. I updated from omega rom v6 to V8.1 and now selinux is set back to enforcing, was permissive removed in this update as I need permissive to use my phone with my pioneer app radio
Thanks in advance
Permissive permissions are set by the kernel. So it sounds like your update reverted your kernel?
The easiest way to regain your permissive status would be to restore your previous kernel.

I cannot find/remember which kernel I had before. What's the best to use with the g900f?
I cannot find/remember which kernal I had before, what's the best to turn off selinux enforcing please

Best of threads are not permitted on this forum. And it's pretty subjective anyway, by comparison, what is the best colour?
The S5 Phoenix kernel is one choice.

Hi guys, fairly new to modding my phone, have tried a few different roms and kernels over the last week, and have sort of settled on cyanogen CM12.1 lolliop 5.1.1. with the kernel that comes with the rom. I've been seeing a few posts/roms that claim its possible to overclock the processor to 2.7ghz now I've tried to install synapse, and stweaks neither of which seem compatible, so I have kernel adiutor installed, but the max frequency it will offer me is 2,3 ghz, am I missing something? can't seem to find any info, can anyone point me in the right direction please

No apps can overclock if the kernel doesn't support the overclock.
Not all phones can can reach so high overclock.
Get arters kernel for cm12.1. Or use cm12.1 by temasek which supports up to 2.5
Thanks for the advise, I'm going to install arters kernel now and see what happens
I installed the arter kernel, and still no overclocking, also reduced my Antutu bench from 45403 down to 3400ish, so gone back to cm12.1 kernel for now. any ideas why I can't increase mas cpu speed?
Maybe it doesn't support till 2.7GHz. Try different kernel

Thanks Kenny, how can I do that? and is it possible to change something in the code to make it overclockable?

Ok. well I have an update, I flashed the kitkat 4.4 liquid smooth rom yesterday, and that allowed me to overclock the cpu but unfortunatly, even overclocked it was slower than Tamasks cm12.1 rom, I also tried the liquid smooth lollipop rom, but again, it didn't allow me to overclock the cpu, it was faster than the kitkat rom, but still not as fast as the cm12.1 so I've gone back to that for now. Its looking like something to do with the lollipop version of android thats stopping the cpu from being overclocked....
Hm strange
Hi I just want help with some kernel, at now am using resurrection remix 4.4.2 as to my point that am unable to create a swap file on SD card as my kernel doest not support it had tried many swap apps but non of them works.
As I searched on Google with 4.4.2 custom kernels and flashed many but nothing happens... Kernel name remains same as factory default
As far as I am really confused and need some help from you guys... (Still using swapper for root on my Asus tab with cm10 stable and it worked fine for me hmm... Was thinking can I flash cm10 kernel of my tab by backuping my kernel and try to flash it on my s4 i9500 will it work??)
Thx
No it will not work.
Anyway there's just two custom kernel out there that supports 4.4 custom ROMs, just two:
1- Maxfour v14.
2- Persues v19.1 modified.
Any other kernel you may have downloaded could be for the wrong device, that's why it doesn't get installed.

Lol I am a pure noob
Do you know some one who can help me with some modification for kernel....
Well, you need permission from the creator of the kernel and then you need someone who's free to do that

Well That's a really long process........
I have CM13 on the g900V and have some problems with CPU frequencies (posted on the ROM thread). It seems the only custom kernel for this phone and ROM is an unofficial boeffla kernel which was last updated in April and with which I had some problems too (random reboots).
Really aren't there any other kernels that work on g900V and CM13?
Thanks!
Some g900f kernels work on the g900v like try crazy super kernel
sent from my nexus 4 I also own a voyager tablet and an I-phone 4s
I want to report that I just installed the original Boeffla 3.3 for G900F and it's working just fine.
The issue with simple_ondemand for GPU governor seems fixed. The issue that I cannot set the lower CPU freq lower than 1881 MHz remains, though. (workaround in another post)
EDIT: Although almost everything runs smoothly, and I get amazing battery life with some CPU governors, camera doesn't work, it "does not connect"
Gonna try crazy super kernel as recommended
I used crazy sure kernel last time I used it 3 months or so ago the features I used worked including changing CPU MHz and fast charge and governors worked that is what I used

Yeah I used to do it back when I owned a g900v

I don't understand. The link you posted is a kernel for Touchwiz (stock samsung android), isn't it? We're talking CM13
Like I said, I tried Boeffla's kernel for CM13 but my camera doesn't work.
Still waiting for hauckk since he said he used crazy super kernel but I can't install it.
Edit the zip file for crazy super kernel and remove the asserts line guide here http://forums.androidcentral.com/optimus-v-rooting-roms-hacks/182438-solved-assert-failed.html

Thanks, what I did was to edit out the check in the install script.
But, still, I get no camera ("cannot connect to camera"). Exactly what version of crazy super kernel do you have working? I tried the latest (16.0) and no camera. Gonna try some newer test versions now.
Finally!
I can report camera is working!
I had to install the latest CM13 nightly. The latest snapshot does not work. It's not on CM's site anymore so here's a link.
The kernel I used is the very latest test build. This link is the developer's folder which will hopefully contain the latest ones. Mine I pulled it from the folder "cm13-new test kernels".
If anyone wants, I can explain how to edit the script so the kernel doesn't refuse to install in g900v.
Hi!
I actually have my i9505 with GPE Rom, but i just read that undervolt let me gain baterry and stops the overheat...
Is actually a ROM(kernel included) with undervolt(5.1.1 to 7.1)?
Thanks!
Yes. Optimized ROMs from the JDCTeam have a custom kernel included that allows you to undervolt.
I think you can flash any custom kernel and download synapse. It can do that.
'm testing a JDCTeam ROM as @Pwnycorn says, maybe i'll try the synapse thing jejeje
thanks!

Those ROMs already have STweaks. Synapse is not needed.
