Try it buddy.
If you can root via Odin then it don't matter.
You can always root again if you lose it.
I think that you will lose root as your putting the original firmware back on.
Try it and report back what happened.

Hi m8 i think this does not remove your root im pretty sure i factory reset my device without getting rid of root and if u have mm root using twrp ?
Factory reset dont reset root . It only delete your data and set setting to default .

It isn't bad at all. The bad thing is when your battery is degraded..

Well, that's pretty common on the S4 GT-I9505. There's a whole lot of ways to get rid of the lag my friend. All you have to do is go through the threads here on XDA - HERE and try to use the Search button for inquiries.
Oh yeah! before i forget, reading is way better than going through videos

Before adding 5 replies in 30 mins, you better check the correct section first.
Don't factory reset if you want root. if you don't want root it's fine to factory reset, as it will remove root. Also your device will not random reboot if you factory reset
Reboots are caused by the samsung system server crash error and knox after rooting. If you want root to fix the issue do this:
1. Install Xposed Framework from here http://repo.xposed.info/module/de.robv.android.xposed.installer
2. Open Xposed Framewrok and install what it needs to install on the first button
3. Reboot
4. Install This Xposed Module http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.thomashofmann.xposed.samsungkitkatsystemservercrashfix
5. In xposed go to Modules and activate it.
6. Reboot
7. You will see a notification when reboot was prevented.
I suggest reading a bit more, as you clearly don't know what you're doing. You could end up with a 600 euros brick...

Apologies for the replys mate and thanks for the support, i will try that. :good:
Recently I checked for sw update on my new a3 2016 phone and it found some new security updates and it went fine with update. After few days I checked again and it found nothing.Last time I successfuly checked was 11.6.2016 and since then I can no longer check for updates. If I touch the option for manually update check nothing happens.I already tried as suggested by google to change another sim or to wipe cache partition but none of them works.I do not want to factory reset.Any other solution to this problem?I also tried to use kies but its not supported!!??
Any help would be appriciated. Thanks in advance.
Are you rooted?
Supersu will block the security update as it will brick your device otherwise.

Not referring to OTA's. I am referring to security policy updates.
Samsung have been pushing these lately which can soft brick a rooted device.

But... if you flash stock firmware, u will lose data, too, so make a backup with twrp and put it in your PC/OTG pendrive/SD
I think you can solve this problem wipe data and cache from recovery but you will lost your data! so you can try to flash the last firmware of your stock rom via odin maybe it will solve!
EDIT: i didn't read you answer "i don't woant to reset my phone" so flash your stock rom i don't think it reset the phone just flashing the stock rom!

The problems are you will go back to stock kernel, recovery etc (not big things a guess). Afterwards, you will have to re-root and install recovery (if you want it back)
#I still choose odin since it does not require internet connection to download firmware

That's why I use odin, I was also constrained root. When I press "UPDATE" button, enter to Preparing for Update status. But after it reaches 100% it freezes. Even after 1 hour wait the same. And this can not be a reference. Could you be lucky to do it (if you still desperate to try)

I did it
It worked but i lose root . Thank you
Hello everyone.
My phone did a self factory reset 2 weeks ago, and root was still there, but unsuable (if i accept or refuse, it will spam the pop up and will not do anything)
I flashed CF with Odin to root it again, but was stuck on samsung logo, even after 30min, so I removed battery.
After this, I'm kinda stuck. My internal storage (or the entire phone?) is on read-only, and I can't restorecon via adb because I don't have root permissions.
Should I flash this firmware on my phone to make it back to default? (root removed, internal storage still available and data not wiped)
Is there another solution?
Thanks !
If your phone was running a stock ROM, flashing the same stock ROM with Odin should leave the data intact.

I've smashed that thanks button, will flash the ROM on my phone and will come back for updates.
Quick update : flashing the ROM solved my problems with internal storage locked and root.
But I flashed the CF again, and it did the same problem.
Is it so old that there's no method to root a Note 3 4.4.2?
I managed to do it a long time ago, but don't remember what I've used.
Any help for that?
