I bought a Samsung Note 3 couple of years back when it released in Saudi Arabia. Brought it to Bangladesh but the phone wouldn't work since it got region locked despite me buying an unlocked phone.
I took it to local repair shops and whole they did manage to unlock it, I'm not quite sure how they went about it. I can't use 3G on the phone here in Bangladesh and only 2G works.
I went to Canada and the phone didn't work there. Tried Bell I think and it didn't work. I also went to Malaysia and nothing worked there as well.
So my question is this, did they somehow change the bandwidth range availability or something on it? Can it be re enabled flashing a kernel or am I asking something dumb?
Modem/baseband and CSC for network .
Depends upon what spectrum the network uses as well .Also depends upon phone model .

Check the model # in download mode and post it here. Every note 3 should work in Canada in the Bell network @ 3g. Bell does not have a 2g network.

Hi all,
Just moving to Melbourne from the UK and I wondered if the S2 will work there.
Moving from Vodafone probably to Amaysim which is on the Optus network.
There seems to be a lot of variations of S2 and I am a bit confused.
TIA
Dred
Yes . The I9100 and the I9100P(Only difference is has NFC chip) is compatible in Australia . I'm ON amaysim. They are great
Making the same move in a month's time and figured it would be ok, but thanks for the confirmation.

3G bands used by the 3 networks and resellers in Australia are:
Vodafone- 850/900/2100mhz (900mhz is primarily in rural areas).
Optus- 900/2100mhz
Telstra- 850/2100mhz
I'm sure most (all?) variants of the S2 have these bands.
Just check if your S2 is locked .

Thanks all and I must remember to unlock it. Time for another little adventure in to the SG2.
I was just getting worried about variations and the various data frequencies and I haven't really kept up with it all. I am still thinking about gsm frequencies only
vodafone. O2, CPW hand sets should be open very rear case are these locked..
Place a orange tmobile sim to find out

Soo, if I look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/how-to/detailed-sm-g935-s7-info-t3326180
there's no possibility to buy s7 edge in usa in branded shops, but that's the only way to get it in usa.
On other site: http://m.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s7_(usa)-7960.php
There are different bands, so I'm confused now.. this site shows that good will be phone fron At&t or cricket, another one tells me something different, great. :good:
Ok, problem solved for me. I used page named Frequencycheck (sorry, cannot add url as new user)
Great page, you can choose country, search product and it shows which one is compatible with bands, cellulars in country. Big thumb up for this page :good:
Thanks for answer mate. Thread can be closed.
Yeah.. #same This is annoying as.. Wasted hours putting playlists together on Music Player only to have contents get deleted when power off / on.. Read something about being able to make sd card 'adoptable storage' by tweeking developer options.. may give this a try, but it involves formatting the current sd card, so plan to try when i have some time.. Hey everyone. So I recently upgraded from a Sony Z2 to a new gold Galaxy s7 flat. So I recently bought it new from a retailer known as Vodacom (Vodafone) in South Africa. I was asking the guy working there if the phone is sim unlocked and he said 'Yes.' Well i did have a few vodacom phones before, working with other carrier sims overseas, so i trusted him and bought the phone. I live in New Zealand and I was on a flight to nz the same day that i bought the phone (Because in South Africa the s7 is much cheaper + you get a free Galaxy tab 3 lite witht the deal). So when i arrived in nz, i got me a Vodafone (Not vodacom) sim card and inserted it ito the phone. I got full signal bars but no 3g or 4g or internet in general. When i booted the phone up, it didn't ask for a network code or anything, and the Vodafone SIM app did suddenly appear on my phone, so I have no idea what's really wrong with this thing. My mobile data is on and limit are all off. Please help me!

Hi guys, thanks for reading the thread. I know I am fresh here but hear me out.
I actually did have an account but for the life of me cant get back into it, its 2 years since i was on here.
Anyway i bought my sammy (Galaxy Grand Prime SM-G530M, Android 5.2.0) In Colombia after getting 2 phones stolen off me cos of my Gringo`ness.
I bought it "secound hand" as I couldnt afford anything new. Used it with 2 different cellphone providers Claro and Tigo and it worked fine which is why i figure it is not locked to a certain companies simcard, although later on i did have trouble using it with Tigo but it initially did work.
So I brought the phone home with me to New Zealand and stuck an NZ sim in it and it says no service network unavailable. After taking to the shop of the company who`s sim i tried (2Degrees) they said it needed to be network unlocked. To my understanding that means it needs to be unlocked to use on the New Zealand network which involves registering it on the New Zealand cell network data base. Please bear with me ass I know nothing of what i am talking about.
I was quoted $60 which is too much for me as i am a broke traveler. So I was going to use FastGsm to see if i would work but have decided against it as have some concerns about using thier site.
Please let me known if i am totally misguided or if there is a simple solution to this
Thanks
Anyone?
I bought a S8 2 years ago in the US. I am basically using it in central Europe with a Austrian SIM. Until now I have never seen the phone connecting to a LTE network, even though its enabled in the settings.
When I put the same SIM in the S9 which I bought in Europe, it'll connect to LTE almost all the time.
Are there hardware differences between US and european phones? Is it only a firmware issue?

Um you have a European phone. A950f is not a us device. The 950u is and there are a lot of differences radios you need to make sure the phone supports your carriers lte bands. And you have your apn setup properly first
