If anyone has successfully installed Telegram on their Yota2 under the latest 5.0.0.124 EU version (or something similar) then please let me know. The problem is that the Lollipop firmware comes installed with Yotagram - which is Telegram v1.0. Unfortunately the current version of Telegram is v3 and there are significant differences between the two which means that you can't open Supergroups on Yotagram.
So, I've managed to get Yotagram up and working but can't see the supergroups (which is useless as any big group is now a supergroup). Rooting the phone and uninstalling Yotagram didn't seem to fix the issue, as instead Telegram seemed to refuse to install (and I don't really want a rooted phone anyway, just because I have a bunch of apps that need an unrooted phone)
So, anyone who uses a recent version of Telegram got it working on their phones? thanks!
I just installed telegram from play store which hide Yotagram and yotagram is now unsupported. In the MM beta they replaced it with the play store telegram.

Cool, thanks for that, I guess I will have to install the MM beta... I was hoping that was the case

I am using a solution for 5.0
Install telegram from store, and put the yotagram widget on your back screen.
Log into telegram and then go to ink screen and log into yotagram. Notifications are not duplicated and it works for me . Of course you dont have all the new telegram options if you see through the ink screen - yotagram but for usual text and photos works perfect.
good one, I will try again with 5.0 ... problem is I belong to quite a few groups with a lot of messages. At least I seem to be able to sign in now which is a result, (into Telegram 3.0 that is) even if my phone seems to be downloading stuff for ever (and I have told it to forget anything older than a week)
update - can't get Telegram on 5.0.0 still. Just sits in a loop trying to load, I think it is because I belong to a few supergroups and those don't seem to be tolerated on Telegram 3.6 which is the latest build you can run on this phone. My other Andoid phone is running 3.8. These supergroups don't appear at all on the Yotagram app. Shame, I guess I will have to wait for MM before I can use the phone with Telegram. Well people, if you use Telegram, don't be shocked when it doesn't work on your phone!
I never ever thought about this. The phone arrived, I flashed it with latest lollipop, at OTA to .134 arrived and flashed succesfully, after that I put my google account and installed all my apps (including telegram which I use since 2012) and 0 issues!
Finally....
I have no idea what I did but after three attempts at getting Telegram working today (and it was 'loading' for around 12 hours) it suddenly started to function. I removed one group to try and shrink the amount of data it needed, but it seemed that when I moved my phone to a different WIFI network, this seemed to suddenly kickstart it. Telegram gave me an automated call, and we were in business. I used the desktop PC Telegram to kill the Yotagram session and that may have helped - although it is difficult to say. I also spent some time reconfiguring my firewall to try and make sure there was nothing unintentional I had blocked by mistake (which I am suspicious about) Very frustrating when you have no idea what caused the problem. It would be really good if the MM build had some Telegram functionality in the always on display as well. Now I'm having a bunch of issues with my VOIP client which seems also to be misbehaving , but that's my problem to solve and very likely some complex protocol issue!
Thing is, the Yota is a beautiful phone to look at, and has so much functionality, you just want it to work!

So it's finally out. What do you guys think? Is this the end of Appbrain? I loved appbrain cause I can browse the apps on the website and then just click install from there and it will automatically install on the phone. Now this can do it too!
The biggest upside to this? You can install (after you pay) "in-app" purchase app from the website. e.g. you can install the NBA League Pass from the website directly. Any other features I missed?
This is from Google themselves, not me.
https://market.android.com/
Cool. I like it.
I never really got into appbrain, because it still involved that extra step of opening the application itself.. and blah.. I think, I can't even remember. It just seemed tedious at the time to go onto the computer when it was quicker on my phone.
Then when Google does it, I'm all over it. I have been installing random applications just to install them. Why is this so awesome?!
I played with it for a while now and everything seems to be working well. I guess I can save some space by uninstalling appbrain and use this instead.
sweet jesus!
I'm like'n it...good stuff!
The automatic OTA install is working to my N1 and my Galaxy Tab now, it wasn't earlier this morning.
Works well!
With this new website comes another big change that will happen in the 3rd quarter of this year: NO MORE "LITE" version apps.

That's actually a good thing. You download the "free" application, and then if you decide to unlock it you buy the key from within the app rather than a separate unlocker application, or having the market cluttered with 2 separate versions.
Sounds like a plan!
The in-app purchasing as a general concept I'm not a massive fan off as it has the potential to lead to nickle & diming, primarily for games, but if used responsibly it should be good.
Wow, about time. Glad to see it's finally here.
now all they need to do is let you backup your app data. I dont want to lose my angry birds scores everytime i switch roms and forget to back it up with titamium backup
Well, I don't suppose there's a way for Market Enabler to work on the website?
It lists paid apps from all over the world, but it knows your phone's carrier and will prevent installs if your country does not support it..
I guess it's back to Market Enabler on the phone.
Anyone else having trouble actually buying apps from the website? Installing free apps works like a charm, but trying to purchase and install paid apps doesn't work. I press continue and _nothing_ happens.
running CM7 nightlies and the OTA installs are not working...
According to the website, you need to be logged into GTalk, only my GTalk won't log in. GTalk also appears to be missing from the market, so the problem may be on their end...
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Doesn't work for me, it's been years and Android Market still doesn't support Google Apps accounts for Checkout. Although I can login, no devices are listed under "my devices" on market.android.com
I'm running CM7 Nightlies as well, I'm a few behind though, and I'm always logged into GTalk and the OTA's are not working for me either.
It's not working here on MM v.20. I've tried installing several apps but nothing happens on the phone end, the GTalk solution they give also doesn't help. Weird thing is they all show up on my app list as completed when none of them have actually installed.

I'm having the same issue. I'm running CM6.1 kangorama's version and the install says it has worked on the website, but nothing changes on the phone itself.
I'm wondering if it has to do with it being a rooted device without a stock rom?

I'm betting that someone is going to have to create a Web App Store Enabler or something along those lines for this to work on rooted phones or phones without stock ROM's.
I am running FireOS 4.5.3 on Fire HDX 7" and it is not (and never has been) rooted.
Settings > Applications > Apps from unknown sources is On
I have the file manager with zip support installed.
Uninstall any versions of the 5 apks mentioned below.
Download this zip file:
https://mega.co.nz/#!OItCnSSA!VqBqlbwUa3h5VR0bmIXmRVBq4UeYo5bhBmzmflml3Vk
Open or extract it and install the apks in this order:
account manager 4.0.3
framework 4.0.4
play services 7.3.29
playstore 4.3.10
youtube 10.16.53
Reboot the tablet.
Go to youtube and you should get that normal google account login screen.
Login and presto! There you have it latest youtube apk with sign in ability.
Hasn't crashed on me (yet), but play store does not work (I've tried a few versions).
Yes I am aware of that youtube app with the blue icon in the amazon app store but I wasn't satisfied with it.
I haven't tried any other google apps yet with this combo.
I really hope this works for others. I just spent the last 5-6 hours figuring this out and it's now nearly 2am.
works for me
Youtube works.
Not for playstore gmail.
Oh that's cool I'm glad it's worked for others.
I just wanted to give something back to this forum cause I've gone to it so many times myself.
Found a gmail apk that works
Don't want to burst your bubble, but someone already figured out how to get YouTube to work on unrooted devices (along with other Google apps): http://forum.xda-developers.com/kindle-fire-hdx/themes-apps/how-to-install-gapps-root-t2954372
Yes true but that guy (at end of thread) is 4.5.2 and has to execute some kinda command I don't. Lemme have my glory! Lol
Thanks. Works for me. How about Chrome?

Chrome should work regardless of framework (at least it did last time I tried). If not try Opera. Same underlying engine (Chromium) with a different skin.

That command is for Google+ to work. It's not needed if you don't use G+. But at least you provided newer versions.
Is it just me, or does doing this break other apps? Skype won't work properly (no contacts or message history), TuneIn radio won't even get past the initial screen. Why is this happening? Sorry I'm new to this stuff.
I should add that uninstalling these packages then causes everything to work again, so it does seem to be causing it.

Installing Google framework/services/store/etc on Fire OS is always a crap shoot as Amazon has its own set of conflicting services. Many get it to work (at least partially) while others experience problems. Installing framework/services on an unrooted device presents additional challenges....but also adds a layer of safety as you can typically install/experiment/uninstall without serious consequences. Unfortunately, I don't have an answer to your current situation; responding to "why is this happening?". You'll probably get it to work eventually with help from others.
That makes sense. I did manage to get Skype 5.1 working but anything after that breaks. Must have added a new feature since then that gets into that services conflict you mention. No luck with TuneIn, though I found an alternative for that.
Any word on a working play store app? Wife got a Fire Tablet today on 4.5.3 and so far its unrootable and most google things arent working. Thinking about a new tablet at this point.

If your family is looking for unfettered access to the play store you should definitely look for another device. It will be awhile before alternative roms become available to newer Kindles and most play store implementations are hacks at best. While the hardware is wonderful you really have to be wed to the Amazon ecosystem to truly appreciate the device (or be fortunate enough to have an 'older' model that can be rooted/unlocked and run a Google friendly rom).

I appreciate the frank reply. I was able to set her up with Chrome and Gmail which were her main concerns. The 1Mobile 3rd party marketplace had any of the other apps she was looking for. I also finished moving all her books over so she's going to take it for a spin this weekend when we head to the beach for a night and see how it goes.

If you are comfortable with 1moble (one of my favorite 'alternative' marketplaces) then many of the shortcomings inherent with the Amazon store can be mitigated. Chrome (more often Gmail) can get fussy without google services/framework. Opera is a nice alternative that utilizes the same core engine as Chrome. Gmail is a little tougher to directly emulate; plenty of alternatives if the Gmail app coughs up a fur ball (I happen to like Aquamail). You really don't need root but if you choose to do so Xposed framework adds a few nice touches that can further tame an HDX without compromising native functionality.
Hope it works out for you folks.
You can run Google services framework without root. People have been having issues with the newer builds however. If it does not work for you, try build version 7.0.99.

That will work for now (thanks @lekofraggle for the tip) but be aware Google is quickly adapting apps to leverage capabilities introduced in newer builds of services framework. For now that appears confined to Maps and Google Now (eg: card features) and primarly targets Lollipop.
You are welcome. I know about the impending issue with Google play services. Hopefully they fix the issues soon. Google maps works for now but complains.

I have a logo creating app that doesn't work on Mate 9 Pro. It's called Brandee.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xlabz.Brandee
The app seems to work fine when creating a new logo. But only the text I add in the app is visible and gets exported. No graphics. I've contacted the developer and got this email in return after many mails back and forth:
"
I'm coming back to you with a bad news. After a lot of internal testing we found out that your specific device Huwaii with Android 7.0 alone has this issue and our engineers are not able to find the reason why. Most if not all of the other Android devices seems to not have this problem - we had this tested on at least 6 different devices.
I'm sorry but I don't think this is fixable. If you have bought a IAP in the app let me know and we can refund it."
They have some sort of security thing in the app that prevents the user from taking screenshots in the app. Shouldn't this be an easy fix for them? This is the only app I've had problems with, and I've tried hundreds of apps on this phone. Any thoughts?
I downloaded and did a quick test of the app on the 8 beta and it worked fine, not paid version.
You could try the beta or wait for the official 8 update that will come in the future.
Beta is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ma...ficial-oreo-update-emui-8-0-download-t3698219
hey guys
i have a 5t rooted and today i was checking some apps and after sometime i found out that google app keeps crashing
Google app never opens . I was ON BETA program so i thought it might be due to that . SO i rolled back to stable but still the app crashes
when i checked all i did was made a parallel account for Whatsapp.
So , when i checked for solutions i found out that its the culprit.
so heres a fix i found out somewhere , and it works on Oneplus 5t confirmed by me .
1. connect yor phone to the pc with USB debugging on
2.Start ADB in your PC
type adb shell pm list users
Now remove the Parallel App user from your device:
type adb shell pm remove-user 999
This hot-fix will remove all your parallel apps and its data so be careful!.....
YOU HAVE TO SWITCH ON THE ASSISTANT AGAIN to get it working on command .
ALL THANKS TO paritosh9199.:good:
If you want the parallel apps and Google to work together ,I suggest you uninstall all the updates of Google app .
It will work fine with parallel apps and wait for Google to release the update !
Will it work for non-rooted users also? Any other way to fix it as I don't want to remove the parallel apps?
Why is this issue happening only in oneplus phones? I have sent the devs logs 2 times but no action has been taken. Never ever a op phone again.
Can you please confirm if Bing is showing news feed in your phone or not?

Bing is working well for me
I don't know if this works on non rooted . Why don't you try it and tell me !
I have no idea why this is happening on OnePlus phones .
What I told you is a hot fix , more over our phone is outdated. Devs don't care about us anymore . Yah I know Q . But that will be the end of it ! If you want you can wait for the Google to fix it ...
Otherwise , uninstall all the updates of Google app . It will go back to the old version and it will work fine with parallel apps .
That will be the best choice for you until the Google releases the fix !
Weird , its not working for Bing here too. Have tried in different 5t's.
Even if I buy a new op, expect regular updates for 6 months only. Then a new phone or the T version will release and this cycle will continue. They took 2 months to fix the last bug. This is the only os which always has weird and tons of bugs.
Uninstalling updates didn't help.
Google has nothing to do with it, issue is with op.

Had found an annoying bug recently which hasn't been solved in any of the updates.
wanted to report it https://www.exynos5420.com/#/support/report-bugs
yet it says to send the bug report on Google +, but google plus has been down for years, made me wonder if there's anyone still behind this or the builds are being done automatically and the devs abounded the project.
Here's the bug in question if you wanna know:
On instagram when trying to send a voice message, Instagram crashes.
or in most other apps which use microphone, they either won't work, or they'll crash. even though they all have microphone permission.
