AOSP Roms? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

can someone tell me why we have AOSP roms now available working this well for our S7? Even the Exynos Version? did samsung release some information for the devs to build or what happened?
please enlighten me!

I think devs have gathered a lot of experience from previous Exynos Models...Fevac and jessec Were working on S5 exynos model too. They have a lot of experience on aosp And these are Main people behind brining aosp for our device

use this, it works nice for me.

As far as I know there isn't a fully working cm13 for the s6, mainly because of Samsung not releasing exynos sources. It might be a while before anything cm14 related is developed for the s6
I think Brandon is working on it

It sounds very good
Can really Brandon do that ?
Because f***********kng samsung not releasing AOSP / Non- Touchwiz Codes.

Don't hope for Fully Working Android 7 AOSP Rom for us.
Samsung too greedy to release the codes.
I just checked on their support team.
i think we could be thankful for Brandon if he could do this .
actually cyanogenmode for s6 is almost complete...brandon got working camera from note5 devs, it just need to fully fix incoming calls mic and the rest of the bugs will get fixed with time.

To be honest: Samsung is doing nothing wrong. They don't have to release source code for TW since it is proprietary. And most manufacturers dont release code for their proprietary software. Samsung just has to release the kernel source and thats what they do. So don't blame them for not releasing TW source code
@XxM4tzexX Samsung did release codes for aosp bla bla years ago. lol
Hello! Does anyone have an idea of a release date for stable CM14 for our Galaxy S6?
A big thanks for your work! I'm really looking forward to install it on my device. :good:

Thank you for your answer.
Do you think it necessary to wait or search another ROM? My aim is to install on my Galaxy S6 a ROM as respectful as possible of privacy, and therefore without Google's services, with only free apps, etc.
Have you ever taken the step and do you have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
The cyanogenmod roms are very fast smooth and clean and i think if you want a rom without google service you should wait for this rom or if you want a custom rom with good features and good appearance you can search a lot of thread on xda like alexis rom noble rom etc.
Now i am using Noble Rom Note7 Porr v3.1 and i think it is a beautiful rom. I dont find any bugs after i have a clean install.

Could we make a dual boot? N7 Port and CM14!

Any developer Alive? Why there is no Custom roms for Samsung A7 2016 (SM-A710F)??

Is there any custom Roms for Samsung A7 2016 (SM-A710F). I have tried search custom rooms for my device but no luck?
I request to Room developers to please port some custom roms for this device i will be highly thank full to you guys. i am sick of using Samsung stock rom :crying::crying::crying:
Please do not ignore this post......
Me too, please create CM 13 for a710fd
Yes, please!
Anything but the boring Samwiz.
Let's keep this thread alive, so it may have some visibility.
i don't know why no developer make any ROM for this fantastic device yet. i have been using this device from the day it release and i am still in love with it........ Developers please do some thing i really need a change of ROM for my love(device)........
Agree absolutely! I have a lot of issues after uprading to Kitkat and then Mashmallow, with each upgrade introduced more serious issues rendering the dual SIM always on a useless feature. Really tired of Samsung ROM.
By custom roms, I assume you mean AOSP roms... Well, our samsung A7 & A5 2016 has exynos soc (except the A7100 & A5100, both has snapdragon I think). Exynos is somehow closed-source which means AOSP roms created for exynos devices are full of bugs because of missing source for the CPU. That is why less/no developers build AOSP roms for exynos devices.
In short,
exynos = closed source
closed source = no developer interest
no developer interest = no custom roms
sad
Rom Found
Finally i find a rom for A7 users :good::laugh::silly::victory::highfive:

We have a git of bunnyy to compile, we have everything to make a Lineage 16

AOSP for J7

Well its always been that with CM we have been stuck with the camera or reboots.. But considering recent achievements of CM and Resurrection Remix by developers I hope we get a stable one.
But just for instance is it possible or is it easy to have an AOSP Nougat for J7 2015? Since it is a Google source i don't think the source will have any bugs like the Camera of CM which is traveling from CM11.
Considering current situation we will all appreciate a stable nougat build.. Be it AOSP.
No offense to Developers but i was just sharing my views..

Instead of asking for so much how about you try making it yourself?
I have some experience at installing Linux by compiling things. I would like to work on AOSP. would be kind of you if you provide new with some pointers as follows.....
I am a little confused with the data overload and would like some pointers...
I want to keep only the relevant drivers in the system. So where do i find the original proprietary source files for my Samsung j7 device ?
A good guide on how to compile and the things to keep track of during all this would be very helpful. Thanks.
I am also stuck at sources. Because its not always that a CM source or a Resurrection source would be fit for an Aosp build. So i was just making a suggestion for the experienced devs..

Samsung's source code for Exynos is both dated and incomplete. Making AOSP or LineageOS ROMs using the source code is difficult. So difficult in fact that many developers stopped developing for Exynos devices altogether. So Exynos is a bad choice if you want AOSP or LineageOS. That is why the bulk of the custom ROMs for Exynos are Touchwiz ports.
Making a device for Qualcomm Snapdragon processors is far easier, as Qualcomm provided all the source code for the CPU. Since all the source code is present, an AOSP or LineageOS ROM is that much easier to build.

I don't think the problem is about our exynos CPU.
galaxy S5,S6,S7 also have exynos cpu and they all have LineageOS.
I read a post in S5 forum. The first dev make CM 12.1 for S5 said that exynos in S5 is the most terrible. But it have LiOS now.
I think our dev is move to another phone is the reason.
@But_Hacker: It's an established fact developers moved off Exynos on the S4 years ago due to lack of source code as well as documentation. What you're seeing now is not related but is simply because the S4 turns 4 in April, 2017.

Man, s2 and s3 is older than our device and they have CM or L os in android 7.
I think i will have android 7, soon. In this year.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4 using XDA Labs
I don't ever recall saying it was impossible, just very difficult. The simple fact of the matter is you have to have developers to do this stuff, and a lot of them refuse to work with Exynos for the reasons noted above.
I personally don't have this problem as my roomie's SIII and my S4 both use Qualcomm processors. Just lucky I guess.

Well i see you post below. You means S4 exynos dev is difficulit because of source code and document.
But S5, S6, S7 now have many document ? that is why they have CM or LineageOS for them now ?

On Exynos or Qualcomm? I don't haunt every Samsung forum, especially as my current device is a Nexus, so what those devices have or don't have isn't something I pay much attention to. I do know however that the documentation, while still incomplete, had improved for the S5 - S7.
I do believe the JDC Team may be able to attempt LineageOS on the I9500. But you'll need to talk to them and get them an I9500 for development.

What do you mean disappointed that custom ROM devs haven't done lineage???
Lineage is available for nearly all devices now.
Just because nobody has the time for j5 prime doesn't mean that the devs aren't working on it for other devices.
It's not there fault they are just supporting different devices.
If it is that much of trouble then you might want to think about just changing device
