Here is a tuned interactive governor profile for the Asus zf2 ze551ml/ze550ml (1.8ghz version). It should work with custom kernels that provide interactive governor and kernel aduitor mod .
Full tune profile tunes CPU,GPU,I/O SCHEDULER,TCP CONGESTION ALGORITHM
Interactive tuned profile tunes the interactive governor.
Normal on demand returns back to default governor(use if you want to play demanding games for eg.).
Enjoy.
Instructions:
Download and extract the zip attached.
Copy the extracted profiles.json (using some root explorer)and paste it in /data/data/com.kerneladuitor.mod/files/ .
Restart KAM.
If KAM does not detect my profiles.json after pasting it in /data/data/com.kerneladuitor.mod/files/ run the following command from adb (Or Terminal) with root:
adb shell chmod 764 /data/data/com.kerneladuitor.mod/files/profiles.json
Remove <adb shell> for the command in Terminal.
IF The profiles still don't show Try this by @mclarence :
1)Rename the profiles.json (the one provided by me) file to something else (eg profiles_bak.json). Leave it in /data/data/com.kerneladiutor.mod/files/ folder.
2)Go into Kernel Adiutor (Or the modified version) and create a random profile, does not need to be anything specific.
3)Go back to /data/data/com.kerneladuitor.com/files/ folder and you should see another profiles.json appear.
4)Copy the contents of profiles.json of the one you renamed (eg profiles_bak.json)
Then paste it into the other profiles.json (created by Kernel Aduitor), delete everything inside of it.
IMP: ( Complete File Overwrite Works as Well)
Finally:
Restart Kernel Aduitor and it should appear in the profiles section.

V1.1:
(Help me figure out if this is better than previous version. Previous version has better SoT but this one seems to be bit better at standby. Feedback would be helpful.)
Made some changes to tuned interactive and full tune.
Added normal on demand mode to go back to default governor settings quickly.

Why is the zip so big?It installs KAM too? Is this for the stock kernel too? Mm or N also? Have you used my profiles for reference? Would just like to know.

Zip is NOT FLASHABLE!
Zip is big beacuse it has KAM inside.
I forgot to add credits for KAM. Will do it now.
This should work on any kernel with interactive governor(interactive governor doesn't depend on MM kernel or N kernel or on whether it's stock or its custom. This profile just fine tunes interactive governor tunables for better battery life AND equivalent performance. Do tell me if I am wrong!)
That being said, I should mention that it was tested on CM14.1/LINEAGE OS and it gave me 5.30+ hrs SOT on normal use without the performance hits that most battery saving governors have.
Yes your profiles and the post by @soniCron was the idea behind my profile. All credits to you guys!
What profile are you using? Are you using greenify too or not?
Another question. Is this tweak good also for standby?

I use full tuned. It tunes interactive, GPU,io SCHEDULER,etc.
Of you have you're own settings for other things like GPU etc, you can use tuned interactive to just get tuned inter active governor.
No,I don't use Greenify(I don't get my notifications on time because of it)
About standby; it doesn't do much for standby. But I hardly lose more than 1 or 2% an hour on cm14.1.

Thanks.
I see, so there is no solution now for 1-2% per hour battery drain, I think that sucks because when i was still using my ze550kl the battery doesn't drain that much in idle mode
Hi.
Using it now, seems really OK, I'll be back with impressions after 1 day of use. Thanks
Great!!!
After 4 hours, using the standard CM14 kernel. Really good.
Will this need to be reinstalled everytime the ROM is updated?

Yep.
Although not exactly if you just dirty flashed an update. Then you'll have to just enable the profile again thorough KAM.
Also maybe @say99 and @jrior001 would want to look into this?
Can this be included as default tuning for interactive in the builds?(or is it too much to ask. I don't know much about ROM development)

There hasn't been a single kernel or firmware for z00a that has better standby than this. 1-2%/hour drain just seems inevitable in z00a. Unless the creative and brilliant guys at lineage come up with something in the future maybe, who knows?
Given their commitment and how good cm14 and linos 14 turned out to be, I have high hopes.

I doubt that they would,. I'll wait till there's a flash and the settings/ enabling are remembered although I doubt this is feasible.

If it's dirty then no need. Clean flash requires reinstall obviously. It's not recommended to include hard-coded tuning into a governor. Anyways the settings are different for each model but the kernel we use is the same so not happening.

They are way ahead of you. Yesterday frameworks merged tighter system app management & all. Cmfm is doing a complete overhaul. It looks great now. & I'm going to do custom builds which are going to have even more tweaks.
Btw LinOS has merged some components of Blur from Xosp.
Here are some useful flashable files. The SU add on is for Roms based on LinOS to enable Native SU. The Lineage file manager should be compatible with any rom that has CMFM as default. Feel free to share. I take no credit. I didn't make this.

The file manager zip doesn't get flashed. Flash errors.
I installed it anyway by doing some stuff, but it still can't access SD card. Keeps flashing a toast that this operation requires root access.
But looks have improved. And so have features otherwise.

Post the battery backup SCREENSHOTS... Bcoz ACE sucks out battery to the core... So how much hour u got the backup??
I read here on XDA that Lagree v3 8.5 and turbo boost were partially in conflict and that the cause of major problems were attributable to Lagfree that the third version had some problems (in fact it has been granted an alternative version to solve problems) .

Well I am personally using this ROM and had no problem till now. I too herd about these bugs but never found personally so added them. I will definitely take a look on the users using this ROM and their opinion on the same. If they find it buggy then will definitely change in upcoming version/update!
Why is it green in battery solve it bro I think a bug

LagfreeV3 is broken so never loads completely, all you are doing is wasting startup time using it. TB 8.5 is better written, but can install a broken version of sqlite3, breaking the command-line sqlite3 engine, so make sure you don't use the cwm zip but manually just install the scripts. LagfreeV3 has been fixed and optimised by g_BonE -- use that version if you are still desperate to put that script at least, but honestly if you take pride in your work, don't include broken scripts in your ROM (lots of ROM cookers here just include them because everyone else does, even though they are broken!)...

nope! it's not a bug. Actually when you get connected to internet via wifi/packet data the signal bars turns into blue to show the connectivity means you are connected successfully to the internet! I think it's the nice thing though!

Thanks a lot mate. I just want to know what exactly v3 gives errors? Because it's my 3rd day on this ROM and still no bugs.. I do heard about it's a buggy but never had any experience. Your help is much appreciated. I will definitely update my ROM if I get to know what are the actual bugs. Waiting for your reply!
LagfreeV3 doesn't make your phone buggy, but it will make your phone slower, trying to start a script that never starts and loop all the time, lol

From my understanding, a lot of the fixes implemented in lagfree v3 were redundancies and placebos. Gbone took what was beneficial and hashed out the redundancies creating a script that did something. Afaik, his script had a few problems due to the amount of lines on it that could boot creating a boot loop. Haven't followed it much but that's what I got out of it.
Disclaimer: my post is opinion, not fact.

LOL!! not standby actually but you can say it's what I use my phone daily. Attached latest screenshots. My phone is always connected to my wifi network. I do chat on sms, wats app. Do and attend some calls daily. Hardly play games (not more that half hour and yes this consumes lot battery). Maybe "deep sleep" is the key to save the battery. Well maybe in your point I am a less mobile user because don't know how much others use but the battery is sufficient for users like me. The screenshots shows 17h backup and still 60% battery remaining. So maybe I can expect another 15-16 hrs.

Adwait

I know that there is a correct version of Lafree v.3 you can find here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1529746
As an quite user here in the forum, it is not allowed for me to share things in the development section.
Just want share a link, which patches RR 3.0.9 with the latest MALI drivers. Therefore for all people which can not wait for an update of rr 3.0.9 it is quite fine: memory leak fixed (had been very annoying because my phone got frozen after 3 days without reboot) and enables you to use the latest dorimax kernels >7.0 (fine battery + speed)
Found the patch in an german forum:
http://www.android-hilfe.de/custom-...ma-ota-resurrection-remix-jb-3-0-9-a-162.html
the patch itself can be downloaded under the link (thank the user rush85 in that other forum):
https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BzvcR7D2Mt5KQ1JLMXJDQmFzNkk
1) I flashed over rr 3.0.9.
2) wiped dalvic. wiped extweakts profiles in cwm
3) flashed dorimax 7.3 (mali)
4) to be sure, wiped again dalvic & extweaks profile again
5) reboot
and ready to go!
--> Much faster + reliable (memory fixed) + nice powersave
http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/good.gif
a personal question & comment
by the way a question:
does anybody knows how to directly get access to the developer thread?
I have not much time to post. But I'm a heavy linux user on my 3 desktop PCs since over 6 years. Know much about linux kernel tweaks, debugging and android.
But also one critic to S2 users:
I've followed the Galaxy ACE threads for the last year and must say, that there the "developer threads" are much cleaner! No noop with "how can I flash this" or "where do I find this and that" is disturbing the replies of testing by the community for clean feedback & input for the developer(s).
- Sorry for that, but the people should just post relevant things there to make it easy for the serious testers and developers.
So after this patch ,can i flash parandroid 2.21 which ri8 now does not support dual booting in siyah ???
no. that patch is only for the ressurection Rom in Version 3.0.9.
it has nothing do with other ROMs or versions. you would break it.
I don't know who actually developed that patch. but it is working fine. next RR ROM after 3.0.9 will nevertheless have the Mali driver patches included, as the sources will be updated.
so in summary: just for the impatient waiting users of RR ROM.
Sent from my GT-P6810 using xda app-developers app
and just one thing I forgot in the first post: run also fix permissions in cwm after flashing the patch and kernel.
whilst waiting for a new RR release,
I'm now very happy with the performance and battery life of my s2! just bought ot 10 days ago to substitute my good old samsung ace 1.
Some hints for optimizing your s2
Just for because I want to know the experience of other people:
Did anybody tried that mali patch?
I'm running it since the first post here. My tips for an excellent battery life with good performance:
Remember I'm using the combination of RR 3.0.9 + mali patches + Dorimanx Kernel 7.3 (need the mali patches)
Make use of the extweaks settings to undervolt GPU (800 mV is ok for mine at low frequencies) and enable some sleeper mechanisms. I undervolt the CPU with the app cputuner (for all frequencies -50 mV; otherwise unstable for me). For improving deep sleep times:
[A] Additionally I found out that it is really wothfull to get a baseband matching RIL modem configuration to get over 95% deep sleep. A good tool to check/correct this is:
"GetRIL"
I deactivated also "fast dormancy" (I'm on O2 in germany) with the App:
"Fast Dormancy Toggle i9300"
[A] and really did the trick to get a high amount of deep sleep for me. Without I had just approx. 75% and now up to 98% in G2 mode.
Playstore Issues due dpi change:
If you get problems with app compability in playstore after you changed the dpi in build.prop, I recommend to search for the "multi dpi playstore" replacement here in XDA.
Last thing which is interessting: no use to lower the CPU >200 MHz. Why with a clockfrequency of 200 MHz the equinox CPU is at the best rate of calculation speed / powerconsumption. Therefore lower frequencies: lower energy but more time to finish tasks --> worse than 200 MHz.
An really good and technical/scientific investigation with hardware measurements of voltages and power consumptions is given in a german forum FACTS and MEASSUREMENTS agains wild speculations:

Therefore for all people which can not wait for an update of rr 3.0.9 it is quite fine: memory leak fixed (had been very annoying because my phone got frozen after 3 days without reboot) and enables you to use the latest dorimax kernels >7.0 (fine battery + speed)
Found the patch in an german forum:
http://www.android-hilfe.de/custom-...ma-ota-resurrection-remix-jb-3-0-9-a-162.html
the patch itself can be downloaded under the link (thank the user rush85 in that other forum):
https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BzvcR7D2Mt5KQ1JLMXJDQmFzNkk
1) I flashed over rr 3.0.9.
2) wiped dalvic. wiped extweakts profiles in cwm
3) flashed dorimax 7.3 (mali)
4) to be sure, wiped again dalvic & extweaks profile again
5) reboot
and ready to go!
--> Much faster + reliable (memory fixed) + nice powersave

What are you browsing with? I had the same problem, but it is probably the browsers you are using. Are you using stock android browser? I used opera mini browser, and the page loads quite differently and gives you an option to download the zip file.
hi everybody. sorry hat i did not replied for a long time.
yes hat mali patch Form a Google drive must be downloaded by click in 'Datei' and then hit something linke download AS ZIP. unfortunately that forum is in German.... also the nice poeweconsumption measurements I posted a link for. maybe someone has the time to make it a viable in English for everybody.
you can flash the malipatch zip over a installed rr 3.0.9 by cwm. don't miss the wiping steps and fix permissions.
At the Moment I am on RR 3.0.9 + mal patch + dorimanx 7.4. a perfect combination for me.
by the way. I always activate in the developer options the 'disable hw overlay'.
feels smoother for me.
so let us hope that the next RR release will have the Mali patches inside. .... but until that release I already enjoy this combination. - until now no reboot had been necessary due to the old memory leak seems to be gone.

by the way a question:
does anybody knows how to directly get access to the developer thread?
I have not much time to post. But I'm a heavy linux user on my 3 desktop PCs since over 6 years. Know much about linux kernel tweaks, debugging and android.
But also one critic to S2 users:
I've followed the Galaxy ACE threads for the last year and must say, that there the "developer threads" are much cleaner! No noop with "how can I flash this" or "where do I find this and that" is disturbing the replies of testing by the community for clean feedback & input for the developer(s).
- Sorry for that, but the people should just post relevant things there to make it easy for the serious testers and developers.

I similarly have much to share at times, but I guess you just have to post to post. It might explain why there are lots of irrelevant comments.
About your critic to S2 users, my guess is that the S2 is a lot more popular and hence you would have a lot more people asking questions. The upside is you have more developers making awesome stuff on it.
OH and about the patch, will try that later.

Call me old fashioned, but with things like firmware, roms and updates (not inly for a mobile, but other devices) I don't trust wireless. I always download serious things by desktop pc. There the download is quite fine with any browser. I used firefox. there is a screenshot attached.
But maybe this patch for 3.0.9 is not necessary, as we may get a new RR version this week. ? Let us hope the developer has some time after the the milestone release of the AOSP team is ready.
nice work!
can't wait for the next RR update

Hi all,
Following on from discussions in the Llama Sweet thread, I have created a specific thread to focus discussion relating to Governor tweaking specifically relating to this kernel. Over time, the intention is to develop a repository of settings for various governors that will achieve a desired outcome (battery, performance or balance of the two). If you are unsure about what we are talking about, I would advise you read the following thread [REF][GUIDE]Most up to date guide on CPU governors and I/O schedulers
Requirements:
1) Rooted LG G4
2) CM13 or AOSP ROM
3) Llama Kernel (these profiles may work on other kernels if the governors and tuneables are present.. You will need to do your research)
Get your benchmark:
1) Install Kernel Adiutor (Play Store)
2) Install testing apps (such as GSAM battery monitor for battery life and Antutu for performance)
3) Use your phone under the "stock" settings and measure using your preferred testing apps to gauge a baseline for battery life and/or performance
Try new Profiles:
I have simplified this thread as there are many others who have been creating profiles or scripts to achieve the same results. Given that we pretty much have the same hardware as the Nexus 5x I have referenced Alcolawl's fantastic work.
1) Go to the following google sheets and download whichever profile you wish to test. They can be found here.
2) It might be useful to reference . (descriptions can be found in this post) to find out the descriptions for what each profile is.
3) Additionally, that post will give you the detailed instructions for how to install the profile, either through EX Kernel Manager if you have paid for it, or through terminal if you are using the free bash script option.

Test environment: RR 12 01 2016, Llama Sweet R3+ (without xposed and therefore Amplify because I forgot to flash it)

Comments: I think with Amplify I would be at roughly similar battery life or maybe slightly better than Llama's previous stock governor settings. However, the phone was a lot smoother during my useage with the Butterfly settings. Other's might get different results but I was definitely very happy with this set up.

You can upload the profiles.json file to put it directly into Kernel Adiutor.
A link to the kernel would also be great.

you can also use the scripts by @Alcolawl from here
i used them to set up v2.
i don't know if it's just me but Kernel Adiutor shows me the frequencies for big cluster in small cluster settings, so i can't set e.g. the highspeed freq. to 460MHz.
Ps.: in op you misspelled Adiutor^^

Thanks for the spelling mistake. This has been updated.
I need to have a look at the scripts. Because they are setup for different kernels on a different rom, I do not know if they include tweaks to features that are not on our phone (I'm thinking touchboost for example). If you can confirm there is not ill effect in doing this, then I will link in OP, or use to get additional settings into the profile.zip.
With regards to the big cluster and small cluster settings. I have noticed this too. You can do it correctly in EX Kernel Manager however this is a pay for app so not everyone will have it.

yeah they include touchboost, but changing the variable will just return an error, because the file doesn't exist in this kernel.
the other files are the same.
it turns off thermal hotplug, but also makes sure freq throttling is active, so no real risk here. plus you can turn it back on using kernel adiutor.
i'm not sure why they use throttling only, but even after multiple (even with oc) antutu runs my phone kept being stable.
edit:
yeah i know about eleX app (i have it too), i just wanted to make sure if this is a common error.^^
OP has been updated.
I am currently testing battery life on crazy butterfly. If people test any of these settings, can you please post up GSAM and Antutu results along with information about what ROM you are using and other relevant settings.

Hi @dd0s,
As per step one (referenced below) can you please rename the file to "profiles.json"
Try new Profiles:
1) Save the attached "profiles.zip" to your phone and rename it to "profiles.json"
If it is easier, I can either:
1) rename the file to something like profiles.pdf and instruct people to change to profiles.json
2) Actually zip the "profiles.json" file and upload it
3) Upload the "profiles.json" file to drive or another cloud sharing site
I have currently taken this approach because I can not upload this file directly to XDA as is, because there is a restriction on the file types that can be uploaded.

Hi everyone,
I recently bought this phone and started using with custom kernel (Androplus and zach) which resulted in huge battery drain in idle like 1%/h. Then I tried everything like amplify, greenfly etc., but still i was not able to solve because there is battery usage which is not accounted in chart. After researching and I found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-...deep-sleep-t3382145/post67567755#post67567755 where users from Z5 also had same issues because we are using same custom kernels and they found the fix by using stock kernel using beta8 kernel repack tool. I tried using my kernel and it worked as I lost only 1% for 12 hours. So if any one is facing battery drain issues with custom kernels then switch to stock kernel using beta8 patch. Seems like sony kernel is aggressive with core control and driver management which is needed for idle batter drain while screen off.
I am not responsible for any damages by using these files, so do it at your own risk.
I'm attaching the stock kernel which I used in my mobile that is from .224 fw (India) Single sim patched with beta 8 for DM-Verity, Sony RIC, TWRP and DRM Fix.
For dual sim kernel, use file from the post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67656992&postcount=18
For rooting(2.74beta), flash this in TWRP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/2014-09-02-supersu-v2-05-t2868133
For Xposed(ARM64-SDK 23), flash this in TWRP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-systemless-xposed-t3388268
For Xperia X UI, flash this in TWRP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67326197&postcount=66
And wipe Dalvik and cache before then reboot.
UPDATE: Added my edited files used to apply CPU tweaks (cores down clocked to 0.9 and 1.2ghz, two core disabled, tweaked cpu governor, power and others mods) and these files located in etc folder. Replace them and set correct permissions then reboot.
UPDATE2: Zach's custom kernel has been updated with the beta8 patch in v1.2.9 which in my tests also improved idle battery drain from 1%/h to 0.5%/h. So if anyone want to use some advanced features then you can use this kerne as daily driver : http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...el-zachs-kernel-playground-z4-z3-wip-t3404587
And another custom kernel AndroPlus has not got this patch and developer has abandoned it due to Zach's kernel features are better and he his busy, so don't use that kernel anymore if you want better battery.
Hope my thread helps some and if it did then please don't forget to say thanks.

Nice.... that ironie^^
Huh. I've had this problem too, never thought this would be a solution. Gotta try it out.
I had this problem, but not anymore. What I did to fix the issue was to use another cpu governor, I'm using Alucard right now, with greenify and naptime. Workes fine now, gets around 3 hr screen on time, what are you getting? I want to try your kernel out, but I've got a lot of problems with overheating, so I'm underclocking the Alucard kernel, which I think is a battery optimization governor, or a optimization governor, don't remember which one.
How would you recommend me proceed? I've tried the set cpu app for underclocking the stock governors and that did not work very well..
Thanks in advance!
Does this work with the Dual Version?

I get 6+ SOT with my setup minimum and have no heat issues. This is what I have:
Underclocked CPU to 960 little and 1248 big (work fine without under clock also due to my governor, but I wanted to extract more juice). Use Kernel auditor app for this instead setcpu.
Using an optimized cpu governor of interactive based on Heimdell governor script I found
Disabled 2 cores of little and big
Changed GPU governor to simpleondemand
Let me know if you need info.

For Xposed(ARM64-SDK 23), flash this in TWRP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-systemless-xposed-t3388268
And wipe Dalvik and cache before then reboot.
EDIT: Added my edited files used to apply CPU tweaks and these files located in etc folder. Replace them and set correct permissions then reboot.
Hope my thread helps some and if it did then please don't forget to say thanks.

Here is your kernel patched with disabled DM-Verity, Sony RIC, TWRP and DRM Fix. I just applied patches to the kernel you provided and I am not responsible if anything goes wrong, so its up to you for risks. Hope this helps you.

thanks....i will.........I ditch my tmo s8, for this beauty..........As crazy as it sounds, i find this baby faster and more stable, in all aspects.............next update will be 20x better than stock..... Right now is at 10x better.....lol.......
In next update all cores will go down to 300mhz, when not in use. I dont know why manufactures dont do this..... Why in hell i want all cores at max when phone is sleeping......????
Stay tuned, yesterday i left phone streaming music all day. Late afternoon phone was stll at 45%. Battery life greatly improved in next built.
T.
Thanks for this.
I will try soon.

Seems legit Just curios to see if any bit improvement were made, but im sure this custom is 100% performance better
Regards.
Is this rom really faster/better? I find the stock already fast and stable. And the latest firmware has stability improvements. I play games like gta, ganstar, asphalt and others. Do you suggest this rom?
Well im near to test it, need some times more..
A guide to flash would be usefull but i think it's Just this:
Unlock bootlader
Flash twrp
Wipe all (data system cache dalvik etc)
Flash the. Zip
Reboot, done. Right?
For root need the super su flashable?
More thing before mod my smartphone:
(With root)
Possibile to change boot animation?
Lock unlock sound?
Possibile to add power sound? Like on some Huawei
Will be able to use substratum?
And for xposed?
Thx in advice
