I un-rooted my phone so i can download the OTA update that was released 11/18/09.. I downloaded it and first thing I do is of course test if the messaging app problem was fixed, which of course it was, so I'm happy... To celebrate I decide to customize my phone with all sorts of HTC widgets, one of which is the "People" widget that allows you to have pictures of your contacts you can dial from... Of course, coming from WinMo, I'm a proud supporter of multitasking on my phone.
So I'm playing music, and normally if I decide to make a phone call the phone will stop the music and place a call and when I'm done the music will resume...Now with this update if I play a song and use the people widget to call someone I am greeted with loud overpowering music in the earpiece covering up the sound of the phone call I am trying to make...
Now my question to you (the xda community)... Is this an isolated incident that is only occurring on my phone or is this a new bug that we are going to be greeted with?
I just tested your issue and my phone works normally. The music is muted for the phone call. This test was done using the stock music app.
I use stock music app widget, and use htc people widget.. the second i press a person to call it repeats the same issue, this is right after a clean wipe with everything stock
First - Is there anyway of turning off the fade in ring tone? Anytime someone calls me and I have it set to ringer the ring tone I have selected whether its a default or custom one doesn't start ringing right away it fades in.
Second - Anyway of disabling the zoom buttons in the default browser? I find them to be completely unnecessary.
Thanks.
Bump.
Really guys? no one has noticed this?
Please, I too wud lk to know abt the fade in ringtone. I hate it.

Neither can be resolved with this stock rom. Maybe with froyo. Both absolutely with cm6.

Thanks. Looks like samsung made some poor choices with touch wiz, feels rushed or just half assed.
Regarding the first, I thought I read somewhere that samsung put that functionality there so a user doesn't get a blaring sound right after ending a call. The fade is just enough time for t the user to move the phone away from his/her ear. Maybe someone can confirm?
I agree with #2

+1 I hate the fade also...
+1 If I want a fade, I'll ask my barber for one.

I was just going to post the same question. Couldn't figure it out either.
I dont mind the fade, it saved me a couple times at work, at my job we are not suppose to have cell phones on, so it gives me a grace period to rush and hit the volume button.
Im just wondering how long we have to wait until media hub is unlocked...
Fade? as in the music starts out low and then gets louder? That didn't bother me.
i agree with number 2. they are pretty useless with pinch to zoom.
I personally like the fade in ring. I hate my buddies phones that ring louder than hell from the start and they just sit there and stare at it. I mean answer the [email protected]#$ phone already.
With the fade in I hear it and I can pick it up before its annoying. I guess I consider myself respectable when I'm at a restaurant or at a gathering. Heck I don't even have music playing just a basic ringer because I don't pretend to be a rap star with my own music playing in the background to let everybody know I'm there.
The forced pinch to zoom on the browser is annoying as heck thou.
The fade in ringtone has been on cellphones for years and is probably some sort of safety regulation the US imposes, like mandatory camera shutter sounds. Samsung is free of blame from this issue at least.
I prefer the fade. It prevents me from crapping my pants whenever I get a phone call.

Try zooming in / out with one hand using pinch to zoom. Yeah.
I was so happy when I saw that this phone had the fade in ringtone.. I rather have the phone in vibrate, but in case I'm walking or something and miss the vibration, I start hearing it and I can get the call... otherwise, the ringtone is for me to get the call, not for everyone at work or anywehre else to know my phone is ringing
fade is very nice feature. browser.....who uses stock browser anyway ?

for me the pinch to zoom is just an iphone novelty. I prefer the zoom buttons because it will zoom the text to fit the page. I only use the pinch to zoom because its cool looking not because its actually that functionable.
Hi everyone,
I've been running FroyoStone on my HD2 since a while, but I've just noticed this morning that my "Second incoming call notification sound" is unaudible !
To be clear : supposing X is calling me while I'm already online with Y, the screen displays the X caller ID (if the screen is on - for example when I use loudspeaker), but I cannot hear any notification sound...
Would you have a solution to this issue because I've missed many calls recently with that (and my darling is mad to me now although I swore to her I had really not noticed her calls !!! ).
Thanks XDA.
Did you recently mute any application? (e.g. motonav, google navigation)
Try unmuting these applications while they are running and check settings - sound to see if any of the sliders are muted.
Also try unmuting while browser is playing sound from some website.
One of these should fix your problem.
Please give feedback.
Hi and thank-you for your reply.
I've never muted any apps, but tried anyway your tricks. It is still not working.
My phone rings when I receive a "first call" but a second call, while already online, is never notified...

weird, I get proper notification with second incoming call.
I would only suggest you the obivious: Backup your current Android folder and temprorarily try another build to see if you get the sound. Thus you can find out if it is build related. Also, do you get notification with winmo?
I've tried to call myself while already online at a moment where everything is very quiet... and I can hear a notification ! Very very tiny one, almost unaudible but it's there !
Would you know a way to make it loudder ?
I see many people have problem with low call volume in NAND builds. Me too.
The problem is only in an incoming call. When I make a call everything is OK and the sound is normal, but when I receive a call it's very very low. I can hardly hear the other side. If I turn on and then off the speaker during the call, the sound becomes normal (as it should be). But it's very annoying to do it on every call.
I've tried different builds with different kernels, different radios, but the problem is still there.
So if anyone has a solution, please post it here.
Delete/move the htcleo.acdb out of etc/firmware and system/etc/firmware and reboot, this should make it somewhat better, overall. But Ringer, notification, alarm, and media volumes are still not where they should be.
in futureshocks nand rom the call voulume is very good and the other sounds too i also tought it's a nand problem but with his build there is no problem
In the JDMS build the volume level is amazingly loud. Check it out.

Do a search, some people have complained about this too, not everyone gets it, but there is a fix for Mic gain, and background noise. I'd do a search but I just woke up and am still looking for pinholes in my eye lids.

No problem with JDMS build here. Best android rom I have tried thus far. Fast, no lags and looks great.
It's great not having to choose between winmo and android.

you just basicly took out the file that prevents you from getting background noise, hence the htcleo.acdb, thus leaving the default.acdb in its place
if you want a louder overall speaker volume, take out the htcleo.acdb from other builds and swap it with yours. Check file size and dates, g'luck

After the update to CM12S, the caller app is extremely slow.
I updated my OPO but the issue wasn't there at all. In YU, would tap on the name I want to call, and it literally takes more than one second to start the call !! Any idea what might be the workaround, I tried with Truecaller app as well, same slowness, seems like the slowness is with Contacts app to begin with ...
