Question: who here would like an official lineageOS Nougat build for all variants of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4?
Just want to see if its worth the devs time if there are any devs out there that will maintain this device.
+1

There are already several Nougats builds for F/G/V variants in the Devs threads mate and many users are using/testing them. I'm not sure that you will get any "No" in your poll

But are they official? and what about other variants? What I'm asking is an official all-in-one universal that supports all of the variants.
Im sure theres more then 4 people and myself who would like an official build. Kinda sounds like your comments just make this poll bad and thats why only 4 people and myself voted. Your post makes it sound they they are official when not.
My note 4 is only 7 months old and was Manufactured August 2015 so this device is not really 2 years old and As Samsung was making them still in half way through 2015. Am i the only one who loves this device more then any newest samsung devices? I mean it beats the note 1,2.3,5,6,7 and also s models.
A unified build is planned: [DEV][trlte] Unified LineageOS device tree for Snapdragon Note4.
In the meantime, see my signature for daily builds of 4 trlte variants, which correspond to 7 model variants.

There are only few custom roms released for exynos version till now.
I request the devs to please release some roms for the exynos version as well.
I saw many roms for the snapdragon one , but very few are there for the exynos one.
Looking forward to the devs  :good:

It's all about the Exynos source, as to what get's released by Samsung and what doesn't. The Devs cannot do a lot without up to date sources, and Samsung are not very known for distributing them. They either release part sources, or really outdated ones.

Ohk , thanks for the reply.
Then we can't do anything except waiting for Samsung to release the sources
Hey all,
I am looking around this forum and I see a ton of ROMs. I am a little confused about what Unified means. Does that mean any ROM should work on any Note 3? Or do I have to make sure it says hlte somewhere in the description? (I have the Sprint variant). So many ROMs to try, just want to avoid problems. Thanks!

CyanogenMod has de-unified their builds. Branching into hlte - hltespr and hltevzw. I don't know if this is also the case with TW-based ROMS. Better read carefully the instructions or better yet just browse through Galaxy Note 3 Sprint section of xda dev. You should find everything that's compatible with your device there.

Originally CyanogenMod had seperate builds of Note 3 CM ROMs, but then they decided to merge all model specific CM's together to make "hlte". This is their so-called "unified build".
"hlte" is the Note 3, however there's no such thing as "hlte", as models are classified as "hltexx" (N9005), "hltespr" (N900V), "hltevzw" (N900S), "hltecan" (N900W8), "hltetmo" (N900T), "hlteatt" (N900A). As they all have the abbreviation "hlte", CM took those four letters out and created a build that works for all variants (if applicable on the device).
When the de-unified their builds, they created an "hlte" build but for the specific device that fits it's drivers and set up. I believe they did this in order to stabilize their builds. When they unified them all, I read somewhere that the video drivers caused issues leading to random reboots - even if this isn't so, unification and sharing of common drivers isn't always the best, you would want model specific drivers to take full advantage of your device, and to eliminate common problems that appear on different models of the device.

Samsung's source code for Exynos is both dated and incomplete. Making AOSP or LineageOS ROMs using the source code is difficult. So difficult in fact that many developers stopped developing for Exynos devices altogether. So Exynos is a bad choice if you want AOSP or LineageOS. That is why the bulk of the custom ROMs for Exynos are Touchwiz ports.
Making a device for Qualcomm Snapdragon processors is far easier, as Qualcomm provided all the source code for the CPU. Since all the source code is present, an AOSP or LineageOS ROM is that much easier to build.

I don't think the problem is about our exynos CPU.
galaxy S5,S6,S7 also have exynos cpu and they all have LineageOS.
I read a post in S5 forum. The first dev make CM 12.1 for S5 said that exynos in S5 is the most terrible. But it have LiOS now.
I think our dev is move to another phone is the reason.
@But_Hacker: It's an established fact developers moved off Exynos on the S4 years ago due to lack of source code as well as documentation. What you're seeing now is not related but is simply because the S4 turns 4 in April, 2017.

I don't ever recall saying it was impossible, just very difficult. The simple fact of the matter is you have to have developers to do this stuff, and a lot of them refuse to work with Exynos for the reasons noted above.
I personally don't have this problem as my roomie's SIII and my S4 both use Qualcomm processors. Just lucky I guess.

Well i see you post below. You means S4 exynos dev is difficulit because of source code and document.
But S5, S6, S7 now have many document ? that is why they have CM or LineageOS for them now ?

On Exynos or Qualcomm? I don't haunt every Samsung forum, especially as my current device is a Nexus, so what those devices have or don't have isn't something I pay much attention to. I do know however that the documentation, while still incomplete, had improved for the S5 - S7.
I do believe the JDC Team may be able to attempt LineageOS on the I9500. But you'll need to talk to them and get them an I9500 for development.
Im tired of seeing these Note 7 roms and I want to relive these Cyanogenmod days but Cyanogenmod is dead. Is there a possibility that there is a way we can get developers to build a rom for the superiour Note 4? I like Lineage OS because of its OTA function that releases bug fixes and updates. Im not offending anyone or anything... Its just not my taste. I think 7.X is a big milestone for the Note 4 since Samsung wont release any more upgrades anymore due to its age. I know some people who want 7.X so bad but their good phones are "TOO OLD" I will sit here and wait til someone builds it.

This forum is NOT a forum for your to request Lineage for your device! It's a forum for the discussion of development of LineageOS. These thread I'm already seeing pop up about people asking for Lineage posts are ridiculous. This isn't a place to come and ask for people to port ROMs to your device, so please don't treat it as such. Thank you.

You will need to check the forum for your device.
Hello everyone that reads this. Why the Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 did not get Android 8.0+? I mean customs ... unless I missed something..
See the Android Oreo thread found in General .
haggertk is currently adding commits to the repositories used for this device, but why those commits are so recent is a mystery.
If there's an Android Oreo ROM ready for use, there will be a thread made somewhere within the forums for this device. For now, just have to wait.
