Hi,
a friend of mine has received as a gift an android radio unit for his car. I'm asking him about but he don't knows brand, model or anything else about it. He just knows it's android 4.4, and as far as I found it's an Ouku head unit.
The fact is that I LOVE its layout (4 big buttons to the most used applications with real time information...) not the background itself.
I'm looking for a similar radio unit, but I don't want to buy without the knowledge that I will get what I want.
Is this screen layout included in all android radio units? Including the 5.x or 6.x or it's a concrete ROM?
I really don't know about android units and sure will have further questions.

by mistake I flashed android MCU update to my unit white it's Wince, the dvd is still working but the screen is black.

At beginning I tried to update it with last Android software for Middle East from HITS site,so I tried many time but it didn't read the Update from the SD card. So I thought that I should update the MCU first, so I flashed Android MCU update to my unit while it's Wince, so screen goes black and the dvd is still working with black screen. Because I wasn't aware that my unit is Wince not Android.
So now I urge you to help me, what should I do to get the screen back and if i can change from Wince to full android unit.
I'v Emailed HITS company, but unfortunately the r not helpful.
Please guide me with proper steps and software because there is no technical in Yemen for such unit.

The same thing happened to me, i have a dsr-n 270 head unit.
i updated the MCU as the constructor's instruction but the screen stays black now.
When i power it on it writes android as if it will start normal then the screen becames white then black.
I detect the HU bluetooth and the buttons make sound when i press.
someonne can help us pls?

Have you tried contacting the manufacturer? Maybe they could point you in the right direction. My knowledge is limited, but I would look into something for reinstalling the MCU/Firmware from download/and or recovery mode. Sorry I couldn't be of any more help. But that is where I would start looking. Its not a pure Android unit, so it may be more difficult to do as from what I understand winCE units emulate the android OS from inside the winCE OS (not sure if this unit is only winCE or if it is both winCE/Android.)
Yes i tried to contact "pearl" the seller of this model, they asked me to sent it to them 35 euros diagnostic+shipping cost.
They are not willing to help because a lot of people got the same problem, they gived us an update that breacks the head unit.
yeah i looked for the recovery/donload mode buit found nothing.
THis brand are not helpful and they keep all information.
All people who want to buy an android head unit avoid Navgear...

I bought this unit for the family Zafira B. It fits in lovely and I have no issues with any of it. Well, almost. One thing I hate is the status bar, which on this thing isn't small. It's pretty much constantly there, including on every GPS app I've tried. As well as being annoying and taking up far too much space, it's going to eventually result in a pretty bad case of burn in.
So, in short, I want rid of it unless I swipe down to show it, in other words I want to run immersive mode at all times. However, Xtrons don't seem to happy about making this easy. I have tried every app that should allow it but it would appear the writing of secure settings is something they have either disabled or it's not there in the first place. I have tried to root with KingRoot to no avail, it fails on 70% every time. I'm not bothered about root that much, I was only trying because it's likely it would allow me to get rid of the status bar.
Any suggestions as to what I can do at this point would be appreciated.

Sorry I don't know the answer to your question but I stumbled upon this topic when searching. I am looking to replace the HU on my Zafira B and the Xtrons HUs keep popping up as they are specifically made to be compatible with Vauxhalls and come with the CANbus box so steering wheel controls work etc. The only thing that is putting me off is that all listings on ebay and Amazon and on Xtrons website say not compatible with Zafira B with on board computer. I just wonder if this is actually the case. I know that you will lose the computer button whilst installing an aftermarket stereo and that setting the clock and date can be a problem afterwards but other than that, do you find it a problem? Do you lose things like fuel consumption and fuel info from the top display or is there a way to still display them using steering wheel buttons?
I'd be interested in your thoughts as the Xtrons units seem good value.

Feeling very let down by Xtrons for not providing a mechanism to upgrade their headunits with releases of Android. Android is an ever improving OS and must be honest I did believe at the time of purchase that I was buying a piece of hardware that could be updated as and when. I found no suggestions this was not the case when I was choosing it and again felt confident that anything that runs Android would be upgradable.
Anyway clearly I was wrong. Xtrons do seem to bring out new units every 15 mins with newer versions of Android. Does anyone know if this unit can be upgraded?
Although I haven't opened the box yet and thus it could go back, can any user tell me if a USB hub can be used to increase the number of cameras connected. I was wondering if I can have a reversing, a rear view and a front view connected.

Hi mate, I know this is over two years ago, but wondering if you ever did get any info on this unit?
I have just purchased the exact same unit off an amazon market place seller, fitted it, all working good, or so i thought, went to the car the following day to find the clock had changed itself by 8hrs and 8 minutes, so I set the clock correctly again, went back to the car the following day and found the clock had changed itself again by over 12 hours. Contacted the seller who has come back with nothing to suggest other than offering me a £6 refund for compensation, wondered if it may be a software issue or hardware fault, but they have not offered any software update etc to try.
Did the clock keep its time on your unit? My software version is slightly different to yours as you can see by the picture, but the mcu version is the same and exact same unit.
Is your unit still working o.k? or has it packed up within the two years? Thanks for any help mate.
I have a unknown brand of android head unit, it is android 9.1 and pretty nice looking unit.
I'm wanting to get a better Bluetooth dialer\contacts as it puts it in a crap order and is now half shrunk on my screen also. Is there anyway to get a contacts app that can be used like my phone and just look up who to call and press call? also is there anyway I can make it so when I get a text message it will notify me and I can read or reply from the head unit?
the head unit is quad core but running really slow and I can't even fix the lines on my reverse camera to make them smaller so it's at proper size.
I would like a custom Android setup like Android 10 and be able to fix the issues i am having.
let me know any of the pics of the head unit you might need and specs and I'll get back on here and supply them.
