Bricked System - Need Image for fastboot or ideas - LeEco Le Pro3 Questions & Answers

Hello,
somehow I had a problem that many apps force closed after doing something, so I tried flashing opengapps - worst idea. I started the phone and nothing worked because I always get force close on Setup Assistent.
I were on Cydras Rom (https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-pro3/development/rom-google-edition-cydras-t3514742). So now I tried overflashing it again but somehow it says successfully installed and also "cant unmount system: volume not found". The system image is now about 900mb big, the zip 1.3gb - can't be possible. It doesn't but and stuck on the first Leeco screen. Now I tried sideload: failed - invalid command..
Well, I tried getting another rom and put it on phone by MTP in TWRP.. Same problem - TARS causes boot into Recovery and CM13 by Superluminal doesn't even flash: stuck on "patching system image unconditonally".
Has someone a solution or more like is there any system image I can flash through fastboot?
Or could someone make one? PLEASE!
I think somehow the system can't be mounted...

Probably flashing stock ROM jacked your phone into locked system.
Are you able to fastboot flash/boot TWRP?
If yes, try to copy the official firmware zip by renaming it to update.zip and putting it into internal storage.
Next you have to flash stock recovery from fastboot, reboot into recovery right away and then apply update. If you succeed you should have a working back-to-stock.
You didn't mention if u have x727 or x720? And you didn't mention what possible "something" u did which jacked up your apps to FCs. Looks like a kernel level modification to me...
Have u tried the bootloader unlock checking command?

Somehow I tried this twrp backup: https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-pro3/how-to/le-pro-3-lex727-twrp-backup-eui-5-8-019s-t3504761
Now I can't mount storage, because it's encrypted... -.-
I have x720 and I don't really know what caused the FCs, the last I remember was uninstalling Android WebView.
Now I have to try to get access to storage again..
## bootloader is unlocked

Unlocked bootloader so far so good.
Flash TWRP and try to reformat partitions.
ADB side-load your favorite ROM (make sure to verify MD5 first before side-loading)...

How to reformat? I tried wiping all & make it ext4 in TWRP.
Sideload doesn't work: * failed to read command: Invalid argument

What appears if u use the 2nd wipe option instead of advanced wipe (the option other than slide to factory reset & Advanced wipe, I forgot it's name but it reformats internal storage as well)

All wipes work, but sideload still doesn't work.
I tried now downloading the grossoshop zip and there is no batch like in the screenshots, so I tried flashing system.img manually out of the zip and I get:
fastboot flash system system.img
target reported max download size of 536870912 bytes
Invalid sparse file format at header magi

Elaborate side load doesn't work.... Is it an error on TWRP? Or you just can't find device while doing "ADB devices"?
Is ADB correctly installed? Is ur device correctly recognized drivers-wise ? Check device manager after enabling side load while ur device is connected via USB....
Which device is it? 720 or 727?
Drivers? Check in device manager after "Swipe to enable side load"

It's x720.
Drivers seems to work in device manager, I can use adb, but on sideload it goes to ~3% and the the error I mentioned comes with invalid argument.
Can I change somehow the maximum system.img size for device? Somehow I need to flash it with fastboot

mD5 verified?
Alright try this. Get latest CM13 build from teamsuperluminal website and also get the x720 patch from there too. Then in TWRP (while connected to USB) go to advanced wipe > cache + system + dalvik + data.
Open downloaded CM13 zip in 7-zip file manager, go to META-INF > Android folder and extract only the updater_script file. (Should be in that or in a subwoofer). Keep the 7-zip opened and dont close it.
Open the updater_script file in notepad++ and remove first line which starts with "assert". Save
Then drag drop it back into 7-zip( in the same folder structure.) Close 7-zip after
Enable side load in TWRP
Now side load x720 patch first
Then side load CM13 ROM file u just modified into your phone.

Well, but I can't flash back my cydras ROM

Imho it should work now to go back to stock. Download official Chinese firmware zip file (not OTA) and rename it to update.zip
Put it in internal storage (not into any folder)
Go to fastboot and flash stock recovery.
Then boot into stock recovery and apply update.zip
Result should be profiting.

Easily Apply OTA Update To Rooted Nexus 6

I had a hard time finding this information, so thought I would post a new thread!
After you root your phone, even if using standard recovery, the OTA updates will no longer install. You may get the notifications, but after it reboots to install, you will get a failed notification. Even if you uninstall root. This is because if there is any change to the system image at all, the OTA update will fail.
To install it is actually easy, just requires some legwork. I assume you understand what the bootloader is, and what adb and fastboot tools are since your phone is already rooted. If you used a toolkit, there are plenty of guides on XDA on how to install these tools manually.
Step 1 - Collect Needed Files:
Visit the Google System Images page and download the image for your existing ROM. Check your About Device page to get the exact ID, it should say something like LVY48E.
Extract the system.img file so you can flash it later.
Download the OTA image. All OTA images are listed on the Nexus 6 OTA Images thread. Find the file which upgrades "From" your current ROM id. It will only work if from matches your current image version. It will be named something like 2bef78c4a5ec8dbaa3df9d94e78af8622cd2a394.signed-shamu-LVY48F-from-LVY48E.2bef78c4.zip, and this file in particular flashes to the new LVY48F version from LVY48E version.
Step 2 - Flash Stock System Image:
This step replaces your system image with the stock system image. This will not delete your apps or other personal data, only the information stored on the system partition. The only exception is if you rooted and stored any data on this partition. Plug your phone into your computer. There is no way to do this without a PC.
Reboot into bootloader mode either from booting with POWER+VOLDOWN or via adb:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
and flash the image
Code:
fastboot erase system
fastboot flash system system.img
At this point your system is stock again (unrooted).
Step 3 - Flash Update Image:
Enter the recovery mode. You can also do this via TWRP but I will cover with stock recovery. Press Volume Up/Down until you see RECOVERY and press power to choose. You are now in recovery.
Press and hold Power and tap Volume Up once to get the recovery menu. Then use Volume Up/Down to select "apply update from ADB" and then Power to select
I had to unplug and plug my phone back in at this point to get it to show up to adb. You can confirm it is visible with the command adb devices.
Apply the OTA update file using the following command, replacing the file name with your own:
Code:
adb sideload 2bef78c4a5ec8dbaa3df9d94e78af8622cd2a394.signed-shamu-LVY48F-from-LVY48E.2bef78c4.zip
After a few minutes the sideload will complete, the phone will reboot and optimize apps, and you can verify the update worked by checking your about system page again.
To root your device again, re-install SuperSU and you're good to go.
I actually just asked about this in the T-Mobile thread, but thanks for making this. My question is, when installing system.img is there anything else you NEED to flash as well, specifically boot and/or cache?
Google has the latest stock image for T-Mobile so I was planning on flashing system and radio, but I wasn't sure if there was anything else required when flashing system.img.
I know I don't want recovery or userdata as that would replace TWRP and all my data, so I'd of course leave those out.

Correct
Thanks for this guide. I've been trying to figure out how to do this exact thing. When I do the command:
adb sideload 4458964f84d2e44ecd2c1c31c301d47eec4b080e.signed-shamu-LMY48M-from-LMY48I.4458964f

it gets to about 50%, then gives a Error message,
E:Error in /sideload/package.zip (Status 7) Installation aborted.

Any suggestions?

I wanted to say thanks first of all for putting this up. It helps those rooted users out there that do actually want security patches applied to the system image. To answer the question above, No it does not wipe data or storage if you follow the instructions to only modify /system partition.
A note about the LMY48M update file and the above comments in the OP : This update changes the kernel (in other words), the boot.img file as well. So if you have flashed a non-stock kernel, you will need to go back to stock during the update (and I suggest just leaving it). That is the partition called boot where boot.img lives. It mainly is the kernel. The way to go back to stock (say if you flashed franco with the FKupdate tool and did not do it manually) is to simply do like above and flash it from the factory image he mentions above for 48I file.
You reboot to the bootloader (*I assume you know how*) with power and vol down button. And then the following command after flashing system.img:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
This takes you to stock LMY48I and should allow you to update now to 48M. I learned this by watching the update failure messages as well as noticed it has boot.img changed in the zip file. Hope this helps others. :good:

Open the update .zip file and go to META_INF > COM > GOOGLE > ANDROID. You will find the "updater-script" file.
Open that file using a text editor like notepad or notepad++ and delete the following text; starting from "assert ....... till the semicolon of the last getprop command.
Place that file back into the update .zip file and reflash. This should remove the status 7 error.

By flashing just the current system image your data stays in tact. Then you can take the OTA, it will see the system image unmodified, and it will update everything for that new version without wiping data.

I was wondering this same exact thing, but I was assuming it was because the OTA was hitting people before that matching Google Factory Image was available. This would bring you almost back a version (to being stock) so you could take the OTA.
If the OTA is to match the same Factory Image you can get from Google, I have no idea why you'd do both steps.

I think the only reason to do both steps is to apply the update ASAP. If you are ok waiting, then only flash the new system.img. That's definitely what I always do. I don't mind waiting. I have Google Play Services notifications hidden now anyway, so those update notifications don't show up and bug me.
Thanks for the walk through though, @bitpushr, I'm sure many can make use of it.

Honestly, you shouldn't edit those files as that can be dangerous, and disabling the filesystem check can be dangerous, and it probably won't work because then the zip would fail signing verification.
If you followed all of the instructions in OP and still get error 7, try, on top of erasing and flashing the stock system.img, also extract and erase then flash boot.img and recovery.img. You will get error 7 if your recovery and kernel (boot.img) aren't stock.

** DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT A DEVELOPER. I DO THIS AS A HOBBY AND SHARE MY FINDINGS IN CASE SOMEONE ELSE FINDS THEM USEFUL. **
** THIS WORKED ON MY DEVICE BUT IT MAY NOT WORK ON YOURS. APPLY AT YOUR OWN RISK **** The following are instruction for installing Android N Preview image released by Google on 3/9/2016. After the installation you will have TWRP recovery 3.0.0-1 and the data partition will be erased and unencrypted if you use method 2, which means you will have ~ 3GB more space and ~ 10 seconds faster boot speed **Always backup your data before flashing something a total stranger gives you!
Method 1: Flash update through TWRP recovery
1- You need to have TWRP installed on your phone.
2- Download this flashable zip.
3- Copy to the phone internal storage and flash via recovery.
4- Reboot. Your data should still be intact and your OS is upgraded to N. If your internal storage is unencrypted before flashing it remains unencrypted. Your TWRP is also upgraded to 3.0.0-1.
Method 2: Flash update using a computer
1- ALL of your data including the internal storage will be lost so make a backup. (If you know what you are doing and you are coming from unencrypted Marshmallow you can modify the instructions to not lose data but I won't help you with that).
2- Download this file. Note that it is NOT a flashable zip.
3- Unzip into a folder of your choice on your PC.
4- Open a command window (cmd) and cd to this directory. then run the following:
Code:
flash-all
5- Wait until prompted, then press key to reboot the phone.
6- Your data is wiped and your OS is upgraded to N with unencrypted internal storage. Your TWRP is also upgraded to 3.0.0-1.
Technical details: this is a repacking of the Google image with a modified Kernel and removed userdata and recovery images. Everything else is stock.

About root
To obtain root after installing this update you should flash SuperSU 2.70 (or higher) in recovery. Get it from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/wip-android-n-preview-t3335726. Note that at least at the moment (as of SuperSU 2.70) the root method is a hack solution which requires a lot of further refinement. Many programs are still unable to acquire root and mount the system partition for R/W. However, it is possible to install the android terminal emulator, do an su, mount /system as rw, and do all the modifications within the terminal emulator. Of course you can always use TWRP to modify the system, for which you don't even need to root the device.
Hot dog! First for once... Thanks!

will this wipe internal storage ? or only data partition?
For anyone interested...
I enrolled in the Developer Beta program and the OTA worked for me even though I was rooted with SuperSU v2.68.
However, despite installing TWRP 3.0.1 and then SuperSU v2.68 again, root doesn't stick. Fortunately the only critical previously-root-only app I want is a firewall, and Netguard doesn't need root. I can live for a while without Double Tap To Wake, Wakelock detector, Quick Reboot, etc. And the only app that seems to crash is BBC Radio Player, though BBC News and iPlayer still seem ok (warning about libraries, but still plays). And Battery Bot Pro seems to have lost its status bar display...
So it does pretty much what the warnings say - it's stable but not everything will work.

if you only flash the boot.img and system.img, then yes. if you flash the whole thing, which includes a stock recovery, itll install the stock recovery. but all you have to do is type in one line into fastboot to reflash twrp.
It would be nice moving forward if Google just made SuperSU/root part of their factory image under developer options. So once you enable developer option, there's a little toggle next to OEM unlock that says "root/SuperSU".
Would make life much easier.

[Share] TWRP for Huawei Nova 2 Plus

Hi Guys i found TWRP for Nova 2 Plus on club.huawei, it was built by Super_Lin
Download it here
there is Run.bat in the zip run it and it will run the commands for you
i recommend you to run TWRP, without flashing it first, so you can backup stock recovery, dont use run.bat.
hold shift + right click and run command prompt in the folder, but first unlock your bootloader from Huawei,
then run those commands:
1- reboot to fastboot
adb reboot bootloader
2- boot up twrp without replacing stock recovery
fastboot boot twrp.img
3- make a full stock backup in TWRP, and move it to your pc
4- reboot to bootloader again, and run
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
to flash TWRP
Gapps
and for installing gapps, use this app, it will download all

Root your phone
Download GSMcore from here: https://depositfiles.com/files/y00kfs9ja
Use any root explorer
open " system/priv-app/ " and make folder " GmsCore " then set folder permissions "755"
Then copy Gmscore.apk to " GmsCore " folder and set file permissions " 644 "
Download " emui " file from this link: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1iPQTJsXm7fhAiEVQ7VtNoomq4esPse1u
Extract it, and copy " emui " folder to " System/ " set permissions " 755 "
reboot to recovery, wipe cache/dalvik
Reboot system
install google apps and check if it works
Does this works for BAC-L03?
Error link
Link not working

[HONOR FRD-L02(INDIAN model)] Back to STOCK ROM from any CUSTOM ROM(JIO,volte fix)

FIRSTLY BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP any important data.
Please feel free to share this thread!!
I HARD-BRICKED my honor 8 twice by installing firmware of other regions(us,uk) but being just a noobie I was able to recover my phone. So don't worry take a chill pill:angel::angel:!!
Requirements:
1. Since you are in a custom rom so developer mode will be ON(if not just click build number 9-10 times) , click USB debugging ON.
2. ROOT not necessary but you can do by many apps or by the method of OEM unlocking(command line - Windows Powershell/Command Prompt)
3. Now download these 2 zip files-
http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1190/g79/v90977/f1/full/update.zip
http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/...el_in/update_data_full_FRD-L02_channel_in.zip
4. Copy these zip files to an SD card
5. Now flashing twrp on your phone-
a) download adb files->Press SHIFT and right click-> Windows POWERSHELL-> write adb devices-> see the o/p as number devices
->enter adb reboot bootloader->See the screen of honor 8-> enter fastboot flash recovery twrp.img(download twrp file and rename it as twrp)
->Now plug off from PC-> Format phone-> Install external sd-> flash the zip file-> GO to recovery.
b) e-recovery will come wipe the options(cache,system)
c)REBOOT
You can now enjoy NOUGAT 7.0 with JIO working properly, you are back to home!!!
Thank you.
Wanna appreciate/help through any mode PM me, it will mean a lot to me.

Update to OxygenOS 9.0.0

Hello,
I have a rooted Oneplus 5 (Android 8.1, OxygenOS 5.1.7) and I'm trying to update it to get the newest version of Oxygen OS.
I found the Firmwares here : https://www.getdroidtips.com/oneplus-5-stock-firmware/
However, when I try to install it via TWRP, I get this

After looking around on the internet, I found that it is because my TWRP is outdated.
I tried to download newer versions from the Official TWRP App but when I go to the recovery, I only get a black screen.
I reinstalled this version 3.2.3 : https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...overy-twrp-3-2-1-0-oreo-oxygenos-5-0-t3725723 but still can't manage to update OxygenOS.
Any help ?
Thanks

Hello, I can't recommend any guide on outside of xda cause they're not consistent...
Just follow this guide in the first post https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/how-to/official-oxygenos-4-5-2-7-1-1-ota-t3627003 would help you.
You can't flash twrp 3.3.1 cause you need newer firmware, pie firmware.
Please answer all the questions:
What is you current twrp recovery (file name)?
What is your current Rom(file name)?
What is your magisk version?
Is your storage encryped or decrypted?
Hello and thanks for your answer.
My current TWRP is twrp-3.2.3-0-20180822-codeworkx-cheeseburger.img
I am not sure about my ROM's file name
My Magisk version is 19.3 (19300) - Magisk Manager version is 7.3.4 (235) : it says everything's up to date
I think my storage is encrypted since it asks for my password when I start TWRP
[Clean Flash] For Users with an Unlocked Bootloader and TWRP Recovery:
Download the full ROM zip from the downloads section above
Transfer the zip to the root of your device's internal storage
Only needed if you are coming from Oreo and use a TWRP that does not ignore the compatibility.zip check: Remove the compatibility.zip from the downloaded full ROM zip with either MiXplorer or Total Commander (not with any other tool!) on your device itself
Reboot to TWRP recovery (make sure you're using an Oreo TWRP if you're on Oreo Firmware/ROM or Pie TWRP if you're on Pie Firmware/ROM) and take a nandroid backup of your existing ROM
Flash Magisk Uninstaller (recommended)
From the TWRP menu, Wipe > Advanced wipe > Select dalvik-cache, cache, system, vendor and data> Swipe to wipe
From the TWRP menu, Install > Select full ROM zip (modified one with compatibility.zip removed, in case you're on Oreo or unmodified one, in case you're on Pie) > Swipe to flash
Flash the latest stable Magisk in case you want to root
From the TWRP menu, Wipe > Advanced wipe > Select dalvik-cache and cache > Swipe to wipe
Optional: If you wish to decrypt, format data via TWRP (please note that wiping the data partition, which we did in the 5th step above, is not the same as formatting it) and after that flash xXx No Verity 4.0.zip from here
Reboot
Note: First boot may take some time, so please be patient and wait for it to boot.

If I understand correctly from the link you sent me, TWRP doesn't ignore the compatibility.zip check so in order to install OxygenOS 9.0.8 I need to delete this part of the ZIP first ?
Thanks

Exactly, delete the compatibility.zip from 9.0.8 rom file and flash it with your current twrp, exactly like in the linked guide for update, not clean flash if you have already a rom above OxygenOS 5.1.4, so please check your OxygenOS version(settings, about).

If you have TWRP, move the OTA file to the PC, open it with 7zip (NOT WinRAR) and delete the compatibility.zip. Then copy it again to the phone, flash and before rebooting flash a Pie TWRP

Clean flash wipes system and data, so no os, data and settings.

I re-did all the process and managed to update my OS on the second try.
Now I have an issue trying to put TWRP and Magisk back : I'm following this tutorial https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/how-to/oneplus-5-unlock-bootloader-flash-twrp-t3624877 but I can't seem to be able to put TWRP.
When my phone is on and connected to the computer,
Code:
adb devices
does see the phone but then when I go into the bootloader and I type
Code:
fastboot devices
nothing happens. When I go for
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
it just tells me it's waiting for any device.
I've tried deleting and reinstalling the drivers with the too provided in the thread, but still doesn't work.
Yes because to use fastboot you have to be in fastboot mode...

Thanks for your answer. I believe I am in fastboot mode/bootloader as I said in my previous message. I've been following this tutorial : https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/how-to/oneplus-5-unlock-bootloader-flash-twrp-t3624877
I just checked on Youtube, this is the screen I am on : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xlmZXgkUrQ
So as I said, once I am on this screen where I can select between START/POWER OFF/RECOVERY MODE/RESTART BOOTLOADER and I type the "fastboot device" command, nothing comes up.
Is this screen not the "Fastboot mode" ?

I was hoping I could flash TWRP and Magisk without wiping my data
It's weird that when it's on I can see it with "adb devices" and Windows sees it's a Oneplus, but when it's in fastboot I can't with "adb fastboot" and Windows detects an USB but can't say what it is.
I feel its a driver issue but can't figure it out

That's such a strange bug. If you are in fastboot, it's impossible for your PC to recognize it in ADB mode. Try with another computer or use unbrick tool to clean your phone (it installs Oxy 9.0.8)
Well I managed to see the fastboot thanks to the EOM cable but I think I bricked my phone
