Regions explanation (Cxxx) - Huawei P9 Lite Questions & Answers

Can someone explain to me how regions work? Im confused. Didn't you have to do something with your oeminfo to change your region and be able to flash other region's firmware?

Hello,
How can i do that?
I flashed my phone to C432 and it was on C900. I try to flash again to C02 and gave me an error.
Can i flash to C02 without unlock bootloader or i need to send to Vodafone?
Thanks

If you have now C900 you have to make debranding procedure.
After that you can remain on C432 (like 99,9% others) or return to C02.

I did this :
1) Unlock Bootloader
2) Flash TWRP + Root
3) Flash Stock Recovery
4) Put update.app (firmware) in "dload" folder in sdcard
5) Flash oeminfo.img + custom.bin (of country associated with new firmware)
6) Flash firmware with 3 button method
Finish
I've used a toolkit

Hi,
This is very new to me, but I am frustrated that my second sim slot is locked and this is how I came across xda.
This thread has helped me, thanks, but I still have a question. have a Vodafone (C02) and want to flash the firmware. Using C432 will take me to C900, the Global "region". I am located in South Africa, so would I want to stay on C900 or why would I need to Flash a second time? Will C432 work in my region, or am I misunderstanding the concept of region codes?
Thanks
JH

C432 will work In RSA, this region codes won't prevent you from a normal usage, I'm from RSA too and I was on MTN C18,i switched to european C432 using the patched dual SIM oeminfo.

[Edit: Have been sent the files I need by another awesome xda member. If anyone from NZ comes across this post and needs them, message me.]
Does anyone know where I can get a stock c706 oeminfo to flash?
I want to return it to stock New Zealand firmware. And yes I have the full stock NZ firmware and have installed it, but it's showing c900.
It works fine, just need it to show vie-l09c706b150 instead of vie-l09c900b150 in the system info.
Don't want to return to c436 either. Needs to be c706.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

C150 is also for Greece (CosmoTe)

what is E number?!
C432E5 or E6?!

This is a quick and noob-proof solution for those people who need to use stock/local CSC in order to receive some of network features.
HD VOICE is a good example as it doesn't work on most Custom Rom's due to incorrect CSC code.
There's an app available from PlayStore but it will wipe everything from phone as Factory Reset is required!!
BTW, this app doesn't work on single CSC and some Custom ROMs and doesn't activate HD VOICE..
Here is the Easy way to set any CSC available without loosing data! Works on SingleCSC & MultiCSC ROM's.0
CWM or any other Custom recovery or Mobile Odin Pro is required.
WARNING: Changing CSC only doesn't require Factory Reset but HD VOICE Activation sometimes DOES!!
This Method is for Samsung (TW) Based ROMS only!!! (rooted Stock & Custom)
DOESN'T WORK ON CM, AOSP or AOKP ROMS!!
edited: 15.04.2013
For NON-ROOTED devices please use:
i9300 ODIN HD VOICE ACTIVATOR
i9305 ODIN HD VOICE ACTIVATOR
Follow this steps:
1. Flash it with Odin as CSC
2. Perform F.Reset from phone level: "Setting -> Back up and reset -> Factory data reset"
3. Dial *#197328640# and check if WB-AMR status is ON
4. For OTA updates, flash your STOCK ROM with Odin,
DON'T PERFORM F.RESET afterwards as it will deactivate HD VOICE!!
WARNING:
This method will change your CSC code to EVR and that's why is important to flash your full Stock ROM after HD ACTIVATION.

After last update, many people are probably "scared" to try this method due to changes in "efs" folder.
For All who don't want to "mess with efs", I've prepared a "UNIVERSAL HD VOICE Activator".
This will activate WB-AMR codec - HD VOICE ONLY!!
ONE file for ALL models and ALL Networks around the World!!! TESTED!!
WARNING:
Your CSC code won't be fully updated!!! After F.Reset some apps can show mismatched CSC. DON'T ASK WHY....
Install as normal, F.Reset required ONLY if after installation WB-AMR is still OFF
Simple way to keep your official CSC: make Nandroid BackUp, install update.zip, perform F.Reset, Restore Nandroid, DONE

IMPORTANT NOTICE AND WARNING
update.zip has been modified and now includes small EFS update as well (1 file, safe to replace ).
This update corrects CSC and Product Code mismatch, NO MORE problems with "CSC changing app" showing different CSC to the one from *#1234#
FYI: Product Code will be updated and changed after F.Reset.
USE WITH CARE, ONLY FOR DESIGNATED MODEL
Just to be safe, BackUp your EFS before using this method as is mounting and un-mounting EFS partition.

Instructions:
CWM or other recovery:
1. Download and copy update.zip to internal / external sd.
2. Re-Boot into Recovery.
3. Install as normal or apply as update.
4. Re-Boot, Done
Check if it worked (dial *#197328640# and look if WB-AMR is ON) if not:
5. Perform Factory Reset****
Stock recovery (Mobile Odin Pro):
1. Download and copy update.zip to internal / external sd.
2. Run Mobile Odin and select "OTA/update ZIP"
3. Install as normal, No Wipe
4. Done!
Check if it worked (dial *#197328640# and look if WB-AMR is ON) if not:
5. Perform Factory Reset****
**** Perform F.Reset from phone menu level - Settings/Back up & Reset/Factory Reset as sometimes it works better than Custom Recovery full wipe.
I had few problems in past with TWRP and Phillz Recovery, I wasn't able to make proper F.Reset and my phone was going nuts!!

I've tested it properly on my i9305 (Three UK). Here's what I did (screenshots included):
I've created 2 files, "HD_OFF.zip" and another one "HD_ON.zip".
First, I've flashed my Custom ROM with "HD_OFF.zip" and WB-AMR switched off without F.Reset. Flashed again but with "HD_ON.zip" and nothing happened, HD was OFF. I've made Nandroid backup and used Odin3 to flash pre-rooted Stock ROM (EE UK - CSC_EVR) , F.Reset and Bang! HD was ON! Look at time on screenshots,
1- after flashing Stock ROM, HD was ON, I've flash "HD_OFF.zip" but nothing happened.
2- after F.Reset, HD is OFF
I was able to turn it ON and OFF again without F.Reset just twice, after that it got stuck again:
3- flashed again HD_ON.zip and it's ON, No F.Reset!!!!
4- flashed one more time with HD_OFF.zip and HD is OFF, again No F.Reset!!!
5- Then didn't go back to ON so I've performed another F.Reset and HD is ON.
It's look like phone cleans itself if you flash Stock rom and perform F.Reset.
There's big chance that this method will work without F.Reset only for people who recently performed F.Reset and DIDN'T installed too many ROM's afterwards...
6,7- My zip changes Product Code as well to match your CSC (it's updated after F.Reset)
I was testing it on pre-rooted Stock Rom/Recovery (EE UK) CSC and PC was EVR, my zip changed all to 3UK - H3G.
Some people saying that flashing Modem will deactivate HD but it's not true, I've changed Modem to 3UK as well and it didn't affect WB-AMR status...
8- Today morning I've restored my Nandroid and voila, HD is ON , I'm back to my favourite Rom
Btw, try to perform F.Reset from phone menu level - Settings/Back up & Reset/Factory Reset. Sometimes it works better than Custom Recovery full wipe.
I had few problems in past with TWRP and Phillz Recovery, I wasn't able to make proper F.Reset and my phone was going nuts!! Never had problem with CWM, I'm using i9305.
If after F.Reset HD VOICE is still OFF, use app called "Check fus" from here and see if your Product Code and your NEW CSC are the same, if not, it's mean that your phone hasn't been fully wiped.

BTW, this app doesn't work on single CSC and some Custom ROMs.
Here is the Easy way to set any CSC available without loosing data! Works on SingleCSC & MultiCSC ROM's.
CWM or any other Custom recovery or Mobile Odin Pro is required.
This Method is for Samsung (TW) Based ROMS only!!! (rooted Stock & Custom)
DOESN'T WORK ON CM, AOSP or AOKP ROMS!!

Click to collapse
IMPORTANT NOTICE AND WARNING:
Changing CSC only doesn't require Factory Reset but HD VOICE Activation sometimes DOES!!
update.zip has been modified and includes small EFS update (1 file, safe to replace ) as well.
This update corrects CSC and Prouct Code mismatch, NO MORE problems with "CSC changing app" showing different CSC to the one from *#1234#
FYI: Product Code will be updated and changed after F.Reset.USE WITH CARE Just to be safe, BackUp your EFS before using this method as is mounting and un-mounting EFS partition.
Instructions:
CWM or other recovery:
1. Download and copy update.zip to internal / external sd.
2. Re-Boot into Recovery.
3. Install as normal or apply as update.
4. Re-Boot, Done
Check if it worked (dial *#197328640# and look if WB-AMR is ON) if not:
5. Perform Factory Reset****
Stock recovery (Mobile Odin Pro):
1. Download and copy update.zip to internal / external sd.
2. Run Mobile Odin and select "OTA/update ZIP"
3. Install as normal, No Wipe
4. Done!
Check if it worked (dial *#197328640# and look if WB-AMR is ON) if not:
5. Perform Factory Reset****
**** Perform F.Reset from phone menu level - Settings/Back up & Reset/Factory Reset. Sometimes it works better than Custom Recovery full wipe.
I had few problems in past with TWRP and Phillz Recovery, I wasn't able to make proper F.Reset and my phone was going nuts!!

Djembey,
You are a genius. It works now. When i checked the *#197328640# code, The AMR setting and the UMTS WB is switched "On" . The GSM WB is "off". I assume this is the setting for HD voice. Thanks.

Hi,
Thanks! seems promising!
Can you please add the moded CSC to Vodafone Portugal (N7105XXDMB2_N7105VFGDMA2_TCL.zip).
Best regards
It must be a stupid question but for China there is 5 or 6 CSC, how do I know which one I should choose? I'm with China unicom.
Work in progress.... I'm very busy with implementing HD VOICE in each and every file (manually) for 4 Galaxy models .....
Be patient please
updated: 28.03

Many thanks. I've just flashed it, and exploring the /system/csc folders show that the new files are indeed in place. However, Kies still shows my CSC as MC1(SIN). Do you know what's going on? I am running stock rooted.
e: oh, is it necessary to backup, factory reset, and then restore the backup? What does this change?
e#2: but running the *#272*IMEI# multi CSC picker shows XSP as installed. What gives?
e#3: oh, even better. Now it says MC1(XSP) but I've lost any ability to update via KIES at all (device not supported), rather than switching to the non-carrier track. Gah.
e#4: opening the CSC picker factory resets your device anyway :whoops: so now I am in MC1 (XSP) but have lost KIES OTA, which was the whole point of this to begin with... argharghargh. On the upside, I appear to be back in Device Status: Normal... I have the latest PDA anyway, so we'll see whether OTA works anyway, when the next firmware comes out.
will this work for me?

You've completely messed up... It looks like now your CSC is different than Product code
Don't use the CSC Changer app from play store!!!
This app is only to check what's your real CSC code, there's "Cancel" button so you don't have to carry on.....
I DON'T use Kies at all so haven't test it but do this and tell me if it worked :
Use CSC_XSP file, flash again and then perform F.Reset but NOT from recovery, just normal way... This should re-set your CSC & Product Code to the XSP and Kies should work again... Theory...
Look at screenshot, get "Check Fus" from market and then you can see if they match (example: for CSC_H3G , PC must be TADH3G)

Mine has the CSC as XSPDMC1 and the PC as TADXSP
so... what next? They do match. Albeit your CSC example ends in BMB1 instead.
(btw, in my previous post I did not use the CSC changer app from the Play store, I used the inbuilt *#272*IMEI# CSC changer.)
Hmm.. You not suppose to use anything else, only my zip and F.Reset ... Now I have no clue. What's your ROM build number? Maybe this CSC "DMC1" is too new for you... I don't really know as I don't use Kies at ALL.... Why you need it anyway? Go to www.samsung-updates.com get any Rom you wish and use Odin to flash it... They're all Official Stock Rom's

I wasn't intending to factory reset it. I started the CSC picker to see what my post-update.zip-flash CSC was, and accidentally triggered a reset.
http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-N7105
Build number JZ054J.N7015XXDMB3
i.e., the same as that which is listed on that site. Kernel version 3.0.31-679347, built on Tue Fed 5 14:50:23 KST 2013
what puzzles me is that I had root and yet my Modified status has disappeared, through the Mobile Odin + unintentional factory reset step... root still works, and I have no triangle in Download mode. It's just weird. Everything is wonderfully stock except, um, Kies.
if Samsung-updates.com receives updates promptly, I might just rely on that instead and dispense with Kies.

I had a C605 and it seems to be for all latin american (spanish speakers) countries. So you can include Uruguay, Paraguay, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Guiana, etc., in the list.
Is the C567 the ONLY one branded for the US region?? I am using the "international" C185 in the US on the AT&T network, but would like to rebrand to the US region.

The recently released C02 version seems to be Spain/Vodafone.
Hi guys, I got a L29C605 that is a Latin American one, and got the B111 firmware, I wanted to know if I can just install a USA firmware and "rebrand" my phone so it gets the USA updates, can I do that?

C02 no is Germany is Vodafone Spain.
Will I still get updates when I move to another region?
Hello,
I have a question:
I bought my phone in Jordan, which is in the middle-east, so I am currently running C185.
Now, I've moved to Germany and I will be living here for six more months.
Will I still get updates for C185 now that I am in Germany?
Thank you in advance for any and all answers!

Yes, you will, but in some cases you will not. It is not depend on country what you are living. Huawei can mess your information, so you need to watch what actual version is now.

Is there a way to tell for certain which build my phone is on?

If I go to my settings > About Phone, it says I'm on build VNS-L23C45B130, but I recently used an unlock took (dc-unlocker) to unlock the phone, so I could use it with AT&T, and it told me it was on c900 rather than c45. It's very possible dc-unlocker was just wrong, but I want to make sure I know the build because I plan on flashing roms on this thing and want to make sure I get the proper roms
The L21/L22/23/L31 is the device model, the Cxxx is the region/operator identifier and the Bxxx is the build number.
Here is a short list about the regions/operators

I just downloaded a Firmware (update.zip), can I just put it in my SD card and install it with TWRP?
You can't flash it with TWRP.
Btw , when you go to settings , it says VNS-L21C33 ?

It says VNS-L21C432B170
I just downloaded the files that you asked, how do I flash something?
Perfect, so you have VNS-L21C432 Single SIM like me.
1. You'll need to download oeminfo & stock recovery & stock firmware
2. Boot to TWRP , then you go to sdcard (You need to be on PC) , make a new folder called dload and copy the update.app file from the update.zip file
3. Flash oeminfo.img as oeminfo and recovery_stock.img as recovery.
4. Use dload method and it should start installing the firmware

Thanks for the help, I'm gonna do that.
Once downloaded where do I put oeminfo and recovery_stock?
I miss that being single sim you have B170 which is for dual
You put the 2 img files in the root of sd card
Also , yep , B170 is for dual sim.. Do you have a single sim phone or dual sim phone ?

You still need to use Dual Sim firmware .. so one more time , is your phone dual sim or single sim ? Do you have 2 IMEIs in settings ? If have , then it's dual sim.

Yes I see two long numbers in the IMEI line
Ok then , so your phone is Dual SIM...
Download this oeminfo & stock recovery & stock firmware
Then copy the update.app file from update.zip and copy it to sdcard/dload folder
And the other 2 files to sdcard .
Now , go to TWRP >> Install >> Select Storage >> SDcard >> Install Image >> Click on oeminfo.img >> Select partion to flash image >> oeminfo >> swipe to confirm flash
Now do the same thing with recovery , but >> Select partion to flash image >> Recovery >> swipe to confirm flash
Now go to dload mode.
