Sim Card Not Detected - CM14 Based ROMS - X Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I've tried a few Android 7.0 AOSP ROMS on my single-sim UK Moto X Play but each failing to detect the sim card. Stock Android 6.0.1 detects it fine and i have a full backup. The latest ROM i flashed is AOSPExtended found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-play/development/rom-aospextended-rom-v1-1-t3486674 . I've tried GAPPS 7.1 Full, Stock and Micro as i read on a different forum this worked for someone on a different device but didn't for mine. I did use CM 14 Nightly which still didn't work along with other ROMS based off of it. I can't find anything recent on it anywhere and the older solutions have not worked. A while ago i did flash CM13 which worked fine with sim card being detected but went back to stock for the Moto features.
Advice would be greatly appreciated!

I've experienced the same issue previously. The only thing that worked was by flashing stock UK rom using rsdlite then reflashed the custom rom.

I tried using rsdlite after you said but couldn't get it to detect my phone. After you mentioned stock UK ROM I checked the one I had and it was a Europe ROM. Everything was working fine on stock Europe apart from it said dual sim but single sim still worked. After flashing stock UK ROM I could then flash a custom ROM. Thanks!

Any solutions?
I'm having the same trouble with Lineage OS and AOSP extended. Unfortunately I had to flash stock rom to get my SIM card working again.

Custom Roms that work on the Canadian model

I am having issues with installing custom roms on my phone.. Which roms are you Canadians able to install without much issue ? Thanks
So I was able to install GF version 8 and but then I wasn't able to use WIfi.. I went back to reinstall and during the setup and selected the canadian version but this lead to the phone not booting up after installation.. This phone is the most problematic to use so far in my experience with custom roms.
Gold finger works and I find it awesome and fast
Goldeneye works very well latest version is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2313469

dual sim bug and bluetooth

Hello,
I have a couple of problems with my Samsung Galaxy S III Duos (I9300). CM 12, CM 12.1.
1. I cannot switch to use Internet from another sim card. It always uses just one of them. I tried swapping cards, It just chooses one of them, not always sim in slot 1.
2. Problem with Bluetooth in car (BMW, CCC). When I call (incoming/outgoing call) from one sim card everything is fine. When I call from another sim, car answers the phone and shows duration of a call, but no sound.

I noticed these bugs when I was on CM12 or CM11 (not sure which one, November 2015 release, Android 5.0.1 if I'm not mistaken), flashed back to stock 4.4.4, both bugs disappeared, so I guess it was not a hardware problem. Then I tried CM 12.1 20151225 release, both bugs were still in the ROM, so I flashed 4.4.4 again.
Can anyone confirm if they have the same bugs or if they are known at all.
Thanks.
Flash latest cm12.1 not cm12

As I already wrote I did flash CM12.1 dated 25.12.2015 from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-neo/orig-development/rom-cyanogenmod-12-1-s3-neo-t3099384
It didn't work either. Is it possible that I chose the wrong GApps and this was the reason?
I think I used open gapps stock version, but not sure, don't have that SD card and can't check now.
i have used CM12 and 12.1 rox and RR and i don't recall these two problems that you have mentioned specially the internet problem to me it was perfect but with a little reboot here and there so soory i couldn't help.
P.S :soory for my bad english

SIM card not detected on CM13 based ROMs

Hi guys, my Moto X Play is the XT1562, single SIM UK version and I'm running stock debloated ROM (see signature), I've tried running CM13 based ROMs and even OrionOS, which seems to be AOSP based, but the SIM is not detected on any of these ROMs, tried Pac-Rom based on 5.1.1 and on this one, everything works fine.
Is there any fix for single SIM Moto X Play? I've see other people with the same issue, but I haven't found a solution, please let me know if there is any.
Thanks =D
Take a look to this.

hello every one
I updated my phone (xt 1572 dual sim) to android N official then I decided to install a custom rom
I installed a twrp recovery and rooted my phone. then I installed lineages 14.1 but the rom recognized only one simcard without any signal.
I have the same problem with other custom ROMs like lineages and resurrection
I tried to flash stock android MM but it didn't work.
what should i do now to have both sim cards on custom roms?
I really love lineage and Resurrection.
I'm waiting for your help.

Find a Rom that supports dual Sim cards, the ones that do will say so.

Wi-Fi does not work on LineageOS 16.0 (Pie 9)

Hi guys,
Everything was working great with LineageOS 15.1 (Android 8.1), but they have discontinued the support for this version and switched to 16.0, and a FOTA update of Lineage from 15 to 16 isn't possible, so I had to download the zip manually, and flashed it using TWRP, around the end of April. Since then the Wi-Fi does not work.
I should explain what this "does not work" mean: I turn it on (either from the pull-down curtain, or from the Settings -> Network -> Wi-Fi menu), it pretends to switch on for 1-2 seconds, and then the switch turns off by itself, so it doesn't even have time to scan the available networks.
I have tried to burn a newer image again, around the beginning of May, but it didn't fix the Wi-Fi problem. I was googling a lot, but seems like nobody reports such a problem.
Any ideas how to fix it, other than going back to Android 8.1? Preferably I'd like to stay with LOS, but if I have no choice, I can consider moving to RR, or AOSP Extended or whatever.
Thanks!
I think its a boot.img problem. I have seen this error in stock too. The wifi/bluetooth used to turn off immediately after i turned them on and the error was because i flashed the wrong boot.img . If i were you i would clean flash the rom again
What do you mean by "wrong boot.img"? I don't flash any boot.img separately, I just flash the whole LineageOS rom (and then Gapps) from TWRP. Should I flash anything else? I don't think so...
Well, in my case at least the Bluetooth works properly (with both headphones and smart watch).
SOLVED!
Surprisingly, the problem seems to be solved now.
After flashing lineage-16.0-20190426 and later lineage-16.0-20190530 versions, where the Wi-Fi didn't work - today I have flashed lineage-16.0-20190704, and guess what? It is back now!
Thought it should be important to update the thread here.

It would be safer to update to stock pie first then flash custom pie roms..

You mean, even if I upgrade from Lineage 15.1 to 16 I need to flash the stock rom first? Why?
BTW I saw some reports on Wi-Fi problem while going back from custom to stock rom too, and there was some patch suggested to fix it.

Because its a prerequisite on Lineage 16, it depends on parts of stock Pie rom being installed.
The LO16 thread also listed a migration step if you didn't flash the stock Pie rom beforehand.

Its on the xda thread, not on the lineageos website.
Xiaomi made some changes during the upgrade from Oreo->Pie and introduced ARB. Now you cannot downgrade back to Oreo easily. Just flashing back to Oreo(stock or custom rom) will cause the phone to bootloop. For the same reason your phone probably faced issues when you flashed (Pie) LO16 without the Pie firmware.

Well, I did not try to downgrade from Pie to Oreo. All I tried to do was an upgrade from LOS 15.1 to LOS 16 (15.1 worked excellent). And I had no idea I needed to flash the stock rom in between, so I just flashed 16 over 15.1, without wiping the data partition (only wiped dalvik cache).
Can you please point me to the XDA thread you mention, where it says I had to flash the stock rom first?
Anyway, since everything works OK now (or, at least, I don't find any malfunctioning, probably except for the native camera app, so I use an external app), I don't think I should play around with it again, right?

Some parts of the firmware might not be overwritten by LOS/stock depending on the version. The original LO16 used Oreo firmware iirc. The thread is not hard to find, just look for it.
