In case my friends in the X community have not heard- the full 2.2 SBF was leaked last night. There were links in a thread started here- but the thread was deleted by the moderators.
I don't think I am breaking any rules by simple informing the people that missed it last night. It dropped around 11pm Pacific and was deleted when I got up at 6am- so I wanted everyone to know that if you google it- you can still find links for the download.
Here's what you should be searching for...
VRZ_MB810_2.3.15_1FF_01
I just googled it myself and it returned several links to for the DL.
Was posted here last night stayed up waiting for it.

Yeah- me too. Glad I got it last night. But I am sure it is unstoppable by now. Everyone said they would be "seeding it" - so even if it gets harder to find - it won't be that hard to find it.
Now we can fool around with out phones with a little less stress. But I have never had to SBF before- so I don't know how hard that process is.
The process is pretty easy as long as its the same rootzwiki instructions.
I'm going to do this tonight for sure since I used the partial 2.2 sbf.
I don't have a droid x, but I am curious. What's so special about this and why was the other thread deleted?
It is a copy of the full flash file to put the device back to stock. So for folks who brick a device or mess it up while playing with themes and so forth they now have a way to save it at least. Prior to this being posted if you got stuck in a bootloop or deleted something incorrectly you couldn't get it working again. At least now just about anything can be saved
im glad i did too. that was quick how fast they took it off lol. well, im sure some are still seeding away.
I pulled it down early this morning as well via torrent.
I just restarted my seed as well.
I've also put it on my dropbox account, but I don't know what the bandwidth limits are there.
Well, today is the date we had heard the OTA would begin to roll out. Whether it does remains to be seen.
If anyone sees an update notification, let us know here. Better yet, contact someone in #g2root or #g2-dev on IRC (freenode) so we can help you obtain the URL to the update. Keep in mind if you intend to help out, you should not accept the update before reaching out for guidance on extracting the URL.
Update:
8:22PM PST - Still nothing. Not happening today.
3:20PM PST - Still nothing.
12:23PM PST - Still nothing.
10:48AM PST - Nothing yet from anyone.
Keep the post up
and checked mine...nothing happens
I've been running *#*#checkin#*#* all morning, and nothing.
I'll keep you posted, and if I get an update, I'll share the goods!
Also, can we please be civil in this thread? The last one we had on this topic got shut down by the mods.
waiting patiently
Hope its true!
There wasn't an update last night?
This phone rebooted on its own about midnight. Had to reinstall two Widgets and a keyboard program.

For the sake of not having my data softcap adjusted I hope this rumor was just that.

Let's hope so. If there's an update I'll definitely upload a video.
What happened to those other guys who claimed they got an OTA update? Was that debunked?

Nothing in Lubbock, Texas
2 G2's here, along with my bro and sis-in-laws 2 G2's and nothing so far. Running logcat, hoping... And to empahsize someone elses comment, PLEASE no bs this time, having one thread closed was bad enough. 2 would be worse...
Nothing here either. Wouldn't surprise me if we didn't get it today. Tmobile is never on time with their dates.

I don't recall TMO giving a date, official or otherwise. I was under the impression it was simply a rumor as to when the masses would receive it. It would be nice to get it, but it is like Christmas, etc... It will happen when it happens, all we can do is be ready... My $.02 worth...
It wasn't a date from T-Mobile. Just a rumor that halfway made sense at the time.
I would bet its a no go for today. Its already noon EST and no reports yet. Somebody would've got it by now if they were indeed rolling it out.
Time to put it out of my head again and concentrate on other things like...lunch! I'm starving, and beer would be nice right about now.

I'm not seeing anything different with the g2. (Tho I'm not to sure what to look for either)
Trying to figure out why it rebooted on its own. Hoping its not an hardware issue.

You would know if you got an update. Read the 10 million other threads on here if you want to discuss a random reboot. It has nothing to do with this rumored OTA.

thats just a flaw with the phone, mine reboots at least 2x everyday, walking thru a building on campus without signal, and then walking out of the building....
It reboots because of the signal. If your in a area you know you have no coverage just pop your phone into airplane mode.

EDIT 2: It appears to be up OTA so connect to wifi and check for an update!
Edit for those who just came here to figure out what was going on with 1.83:
It would appear that some sort of error occurred in which the beta of 1.83 was released OTA to a few people and to even more through the computer connect update software. This is why people were reporting that they had had success downloading the new update. However it was not available for everyone and appears to have been pulled completely. Things were made more confusing because AT&T and Motorola both appeared to make some false claims that the new update was beginning its release on April 29th. However this was a mistake and they later retracted their claims either by deleting the comment altogether or saying that they meant that the beta would be released to limited amounts of people at that time. This appears to be the cause of all of the confusion, but the bottom line is that the official update is NOT out yet, and if you want the 1.83 beta that others have gotten, check around, it isn't too hard to find!
Original post:
So I came across an AT&T answers page actually listing 4.1.83 on the site which said it was available and all I had to do was connect to wifi and check for updates to get it.
So I think "SWEET!" and try it, but still no luck
By this time I figure alright if AT&T is listing this but it's not up may as well go ahead and bother their tech support for a while and see if I get any answers
They take a LONG time to answer my question and eventually tell me that there is no 1.83 update. To which I reply "Excuse me, BS, here is exactly what YOUR site says" -copy, paste, and post link to it-
They take a long time, then completely ignore it and tell me to access my phones settings and tell them what software version I am running.
Meanwhile I get a little suspicious about whats going on and open a new window and follow the link I sent them.
It had been edited WHILE I was talking to them! The 1.83 part had been completely taken out. All that was left was the 1.57 update. The tech support person continued to play dumb and tell me there was only a 1.57 update and that I could contact motorola if I had any more issues.
I'll post a screenshot of what the site said when I accessed it this morning. I don't know if the info on that page is old news to these forums or when it even went up, but At&T certainly has their heads up their asses.
Oops, forgot about that mention. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.
Did you tell them there are even websites with benchmarks out there like
Anandtech?

I talked with them a bit more after posting.
I told them that this was not a Motorola issue, and that I now wanted to know what had happened with the AT&T site and that I saw that it had been edited. They continued to post more Motorola contact info and asked if they could help me in any other way.
I told them that they could start by actually reading what I was typing to them, and repeated that the page had been edited. I am subjected to more waiting until finally the associate tells me they "didn't see" the second update before, but now they know what I am talking about. The page is still edited so I have no idea how they saw it right then... but yeah.
They then ask me to connect to wifi and try to perform the update. Told them I already did. They then say, that maybe AT&T recalled the update and tell me to wait. I wait. Then they come back asking if I have contacted motorola, I tell them no. They then link me to a post in motorolas forums and tell me to check there.
The thread I am linked to is merely people complaining about the same page on AT&T that I was referring to in the first place... with no answer on it as to what was going on, when I point this out the associate remains silent. I continue to do other things on my computer checking back every few minutes. After 10 minutes of silence I go ahead and tell them that I could see that they were not even going to try to help me and closed out the conversation.
Disappointing, though I am now reasonably certain that I am the reason the page got edited haha
OTA
So do we know if anybody has gotten the update OTA or has it all been "self-help" installation. AT&T changing their website makes it appear delays to OTA update. Question remains, is it becuase of AT&T or Motorola?
That's classic, I wonder what they would say if I walked into a store and asked about the 1.83 update, especially since I have it on my phone already so I can prove it exists.

My guess would be att, since Motorola had it officially on one of their websites for a USB link update
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
If you check the motorola owners forums, they say the update hasnt officially been publicly released although, many ppl besides beta testers were able to snag the update before it seemed to have been pulled. You can always download the 1.83 SBF thats floating around and flash to it.
Nothing new here. AT&T sticking thier heads and the sand and ignoring the customer. Can not/will not even respond to direct legitimate questions. Maybe it is time to try to get their attention another way. here is the link where you can post comments to the FCC concerning their attempt to monopolize. http://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/ecfs/
I think everybody that has an issue with at&t's customer support, rate plans, crippling devices, false advertising, etc., that have tried to get answers or support with no satisfaction should make these issues known. If the congressional reps on the committees start asking the same questions we have, then maybe, just maybe, att will understand we are customers, and not just a source of income. Maybe I should start a thread just for this so we get as many people as possible to send their thoughts along.
I've been running 1.83 since the 29th and I'm not a beta tester. I actually got it by downloading the Motorola software Updater from here http://direct.motorola.com/hellomoto/motosupport/source/SoftwareUpdateSummary.asp?country=USA&language=ENS&web_page_name=SUPPORT&strCarrierId=ATT&strPhone=Motorola%20ATRIX(TM)%204G&strCable=Micro%20USB%20Data%20Cable&strURL=https://rsddownload.motorola.com/download/SoftwareUpdateforATTATRIX4Gversion.4.1.57.pdf.
All I did was plug my phone in and it looked for an update for like 5 minutes then said there was one available and asked if I wanted to install it (Of course yes) 15 min later it was done. I actually flashed back to 1.26 3 times and updated to 1.83 like this because I messed up root (Come to find I just needed gingerbreak). Some people can't get it so I'm not sure if they took it down from moto or what the deal was. Everything on the page says 1.57 but it still let me update to 1.83 multiple times so I donno.

I'm pretty sure it was the morning of the 29th.
It was working, but has since been pulled. I saw both the AT&T page as well as the Moto update. Neither are working now.
Ima stop by the store and inquire about it there, see how interesting that conversation is as soon as I'm done at the gym since there's an official att store right next door, talk about convenient.

Same here...I got the update from the moto site on the morning of the 29th.
Well, that turned out to be as pointless as I expected it to be, no one had any clue what I was talking about or why the update would be there one minute then all traces be gone the next. Their only suggestion was maybe there was a bug in it.

From what i've read, i'm guessing the 1.83 update is still in beta testing, but for some reason someone in ATT's dev team messed up and relayed it as "release" to another ATT team and motorola, who put it up on their websites as available for download without further questioning. If anyone got it through OTA, they might have been part of the first wave before someone in ATT realized the mistake and pulled the update out.
Then ATT decided to go for a "what update?" policy instead of "whoops."
Two of my friends recently picked up a Nexus 6p after messing around with mine and my wife's. They haven't received any updates in the two weeks they've had them and the devices came with the January security update.
Neither of these two will be unlocking bootloaders or flashing custom roms, one is local and the other one is on the East Coast. So let's leave the comments about doing it manually out of here, I'm just interested in figuring out how to force the download of the actual over the air update.
Verizon if it matters.
I forgot to mention, I have been searching but the search function on the latest version of Tapatalk is completely useless.
The only way to force it is by doing it manually. You don't have to unlock the bootloader though. It can be achieved by using adb to sideload the zip with the stock recovery. This is probably more work than you want to get into but it's the only way I know of. I have instructions in section 12 of my guide:

Any idea why the ota isn't rolling out? My wife's and mine are fine, I handle all of this stuff and teach my wife.

No idea. Same thing is happening to my girlfriend's new 6P. She is stuck on the January patch and I have been refreshing it multiple times; nothing. Hopefully it comes within the next few days.

I think I've read somewhere that it's an issue with the device syncing with the Google servers. A factory reset might help it along, that would wipe the phone though.
The February update has finally pushed to my handset today. Hopefully if I install, the March update will follow.

I was having the same issue. I downloaded the ota's and then rebooted my phone and I suddenly had the prompt to update to the February and then the March update. It's a bit too much of a coincidence to not be because of downloading the ota's so give it a try.

So I have seen a few people saying they are rooted on PG5. Can those of you that have done it please post how it has worked out for you? Thanks.
MOD EDIT:

I'm on PG5. I rooted about 10 days ago. After applying all the fixes, it is working ok. Fighting 2 issues. (1). Still getting update notifications every day. (2). Seems like I lost my wireless fast charging capability. I'm going to make some changes tonight and see if that fixes anything. I've learned a lot more about the phone, had some fun rooting it, but haven't really gained much if anything.

You need to disable system updates with package disabler pro or something like that and the updates should stop
I can't recall if I was on PH1 or PG5 when I rooted. I got lucky found a cosmetically damaged SM-G930V early Sept and remember seeing the update requesting install when I met the seller. I did update then root im just not sure to what lol. I used the G930x_QC_Rooted_BOOT.TAR and after pushing SU with ADB she needed very little optimization ie: BusyBox, TricksterMOD, BuildProp & TiB in that order. I had a few obvious issues at 1st but the phone seemed to get quicker & cooler the more i used it overall. The biggest problem I've had so far is getting the adoptable storage feature to stick. Which has nothing to do with root so moving on. All and all I'd have to give the experience 2 thumbs up. Also if you screw up one of your protected partitions like i did you can always use the Verizon Update/Repair Assitant to save your phone. Provided youve registered that phone with Verizon prior to ahem, "messing up" The tool doesnt seem to have a download link its suppose to PuP when you conect phone If it doesnt they have link to the Samsung site where you can DL. Ive since switched to one of the debloated custom ROMs and I guess I never really knew what fast really was because there was this moment when i opened up the recents and i had like 40+ pages open. Scrolling was so beautifully liquid smooth and crystal clear and lightning fast I got a lump in my throat fellas. SHE doesnt slow down! I gotta drink a redbull just to get on my phone!
