Hello everyone,
A couple of days ago I've tried to switch a N910C from CM 13.1 to SimplRom. To my surprise, that resulted on bootloops on any possible scenario.
This was not different when flashing the latest stock for it, N910CXXU2DPG8_N910CZVV2DPI1_N910CXXU1DPE4_HOME.tar.md5, and even fully formatting/repartitioning the phone, using TRELTE_EUR_OPEN_SEA.pit, the right PIT file for it.
All flashing processes done by TWRP and Odin were successful.
I was able to use the phone again only after a restore of the nandroid backup of the CM 13.1 on TWRP.
So, I have a few questions, please:
1. Is there a possibility that, even doing all of this, some corrupted/incompatible settings were still present on the phone, avoiding any rom to boot?
2. Is possible that the EFS partition could be causing the bootloops? When I try to access some subfolder of /efs using Total Commander I get reboots on CM 13.1. The same happens when trying to access the Hardware tab of Samsung Phone Info app.
If this partition is corrupted, how repair it?
Solved using https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/help/n910c-to-stock-rom-cm13-t3321132.
I hope that this info could help someone else.
my n910c currently stuck on samsung galaxy note 4 screen, is it a bootloop ? i tried to flash rom via ordin but it stop at cache. then i tried with kies it load very slow and stop at around 65%, i can't connect adb with twrp even got driver installed. i even flash stock with pit file.. i guess i tried everything but still no way to restore my phone ! can anyone help ?

So, yesterday i tried to install Euphoria OS on my phone, but in all of a sudden, the /cache partition corrupted, i was dumb enough and deleted it via TWRP, making my phone fall into the QPST status.
After fixing it, i proceeded and reflashed KitKat, but the phone only shows 8GB instead of 16GB, so i tried to fix this by flashing TWRP, everything went well, until i upgraded to Lollipop again.
It always bootloops no matter what i do, i really need my phone with my 16GB of storage back, it isn't a Hardware failure since the QPST diagnosis didn't say anything about mobo failures.
I can mount all the partitions, i can wipe it all, i can boot into bootloader and recovery, i can do basically everything but booting the system.
Any light on this? it either happens after i flash TWRP or after i try to root it.
Im running Android 5.1.1 stock.

Don't you dare tell me to reflash the ROM again, this is the first thing i have done, i did this 20 times already and it never worked. It isn't a ROM problem. It is a partition problem somewhere.
Fixed, had to use LGNPST to reflash JB 4.4.2, then upgraded to a ZIP version of the Lollipop ROM, then flashed the stock one.
I'm having the same problem with my Nexus 4. I read also about LGNPST, but I remember something about flashing the Optimus G cache partition I believe, then manipulating one of the prop files afterwards in order to get your 16gigs back. The problem is that all of the files needed to do this flash are attached to a stupid downloader site and so its full of pop up windows and adware from what I've seen. I can't get mine to boot into system, or bootloader, or recovery, etc. The device will not finish looping for debugging to be enabled, and even trying to boot into download mode is not happening. I've tried all I know to do, especially considering fastboot and adb both utilizeusb debugging. I really am baffled. Any root kits I've tried also don't work so far. Help please.
I have the SM-910C Exynos trelte version of Note 4. I had the unofficial CM 13 ROM from the official development forum, it was all running fine, until the phone shut off with the flashlight on.
Now i can't recover no matter what I try.
Cleared All caches, restored to factory = Bootloop
Pushed a new rom through ADB and flashed it through CWM = Bootloop
Deleted all Internal memory contents, pushed another ROM and flashed = Won't even get past Samsung logo
Installed Odin and tried installing 2 stock factory 5.1.1 firmwares =
Odin:
<ID:0/005> NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/005> FAIL!
Device (DL MODE):
SW REV. CHECK FAIL. DEVICE 2, BINARY 1
What am i supposed to do now?
Restore EFS partition whit your recovery backup
Try to install C0J5 rom.
Using search on those threads ( official and unofficial cm13 ) will help you out ... Your EFS partition is corrupted and you have to restore it.
Search over the threads and you will find everything You need.
if you didn't do EFS backup like me, you have 3 options
1- Reinstall cyanogenmod
2- wipe EFS partition, but lose IMEI => no phone calls
3-Send your phone to samsung's service and hope for the best
I sent my phone to samsung and they asked me to wait for 5 days.
I had to send my phone to samsung, they fix it for free
here where I live was really fast the repair, only takes one day. (I had a lot of lucky)
If you are on COJ5, doest have so much to do.
you can try flash another rom, oficial, try to backup your EFS and restore
your phone will boot if you use the .pit file, but you'll lose your IMEI (format EFS)
Alright.. I know this is a little off beat from the original question however I am experiencing something similar.
Prior to installing cm 13, all was running well, i went from lollipop to rooted lollipop, to mm stock, to ditto note and then last but not least cm13...
Upon completing the factory wipe before installing stock mm (for online banking purposes, plus the software was glitchy as shi*..)
I am now stuck on download mode, have no USB access to my phone, No TWRP/Clockworkmod. however i do have a nandroid back up on my PC and SD card...
My problem is that I have no way of accessing the phone.. to Samsung it goes?
I have had several issues in the past with my S3 and note 3.. and I found the fix everytime.. this one.. is driving me through the roof..
Please help..
I have tried installing CDC drivers on my PC.. (No Change)
Odin ver 3.10.7/ 3.10.6 and 3.09 which was the one i did my previous installs on..
Hi All,
Just wondering what's going on with my phone - it's a Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910G with Optus Australia.
Here's the situation:
I rooted my phone using Chainfire method from 5.1.1 Optus firmware.
Then, I installed TWRP, backed up all partitions (INCLUDING EFS).
After that, installed Cyanogenmod. Holy damn, I need to go back to stock...
so...
I booted back into TWRP
I reset phone as usually would to restore/install ROM.
I restored firmware backup in TWRP.
Reboot to system
-- BOOTLOOP --
happens every time i try to restore, and the only way I can use my phone right now is to reflash Cyanogenmod 12.1 nightlies onto it - which have problems (such as I cannot reboot with CM12.1 because if I do after installing it, the phone app breaks and I cannot get past anything because of toast message "com.android.phone" has stopped..., so then only way to get it to work again is to reflash CM12.1 again - this happens about twice daily...)
-- -- PLEASE HELP!
What happens to TWRP backups that mean i cannot restore my stock backup without it bootlooping? and why can devs not post a clean stock flashable ZIP copy of stock firmwares? Its great having all these mods, but how about something that doesn't require umpteen thousand bloody applications to reflash your phone with? Whatever happened to a simple ZIP? when I see ZIPs, devs see thanks buttons being pushed!
-- THANKS

One possible solution is to flash the appropriate stock rom via odin. After booting, install twrp and root your phone. After this you can restore your previously saved stock rom via twrp.

Sorry no help from me but I have a similar problem. At some point mine quit booting to TWRP and I got a huge OTA update a few days ago and every time I try to boot into recovery it ends up in Stock Recovery only after going to little android saying installing updates(it fails & eventually goes to stock recovery.) I did a reset and still have 5.1.1 installed and still have the same behavior.
I have the professional version of the unified toolkit and it says if it is still booting into stock recovery select options 7, 3 which I did but it didn't fix the problem. I think what's getting me is it thinks there are still system updates to install.
Let me start by saying I've never modded a phone before so I'm extremely new. I followed a few how-to's on these forums (by rovo89) as well as videos on how to enable xposed installer on my Galaxy s5 G900i. I rooted it successfully, installed TWRP without any problems all using Odin, but then flashed the incorrect arm file, and when I restarted my phone it was stuck on the Samsung bootloop. I didnt download the uninstaller and my phone wasn't able to connect to Odin at that point. I did have a backup file however. I restored to my latest backup however my phone was still unable to boot, even after wiping cache and data files. In a mad rush, i did a complete factory reset and wiped off all of the files including the system, and obviously now when I try and boot i get the warning "No OS installed! are you sure you want to reboot?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, is there any way to remedy this situation or have I screwed up too bad. Apologies for my stupidity.
Edit: I should note that when my phone is in bootloop, it is recognised by Odin (Added!), however while it is in TWRP, it is not recognised (Removed!).
Download official rom for your device and flash it via odin
The first issue I started to notice after rooting via Odin & TWRP was when trying to flash the iOS and WP ROMs from this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/3oss-project-samsung-galaxy-tab-4-7inch-t3081478 , it would fail. I was able to successfully flash the Google ROM from same post. I believe it was with one of the other ones that it even said successful yet when i went to reboot said no OS installed. So, I figured update my TWRP to newest version, maybe that was the problem. Well after updating, now when i go to wipe/factory reset it either says unable to mount or it doesnt even make it that far and reboots system. I tried flashing PIT file with Odin and issue persists. Everything still works smoothly but any help fixing this issue would be much appreciated as I do not want to dirty flash anything. Thanks in advance.
So now...after flashing stock firmware, it boots all the way to nook screen (right after samsung logo) and stops. I can boot into TWRP but it still says unable to mount data. Also, in TWRP when i click mount, the only one already checked is cache. I can manually select all others except data. When i go to install, the internal sd has absolutely nothing on it...really hope i didn's completely mess it up, sometimes my eagerness to learn gets the better of me. Thanks again for any help!
I have the same issue, im stuck
