Flash different model number? - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is it okay to flash different model number?? I have SM-N910f and unlock it using z3x box but it seems to work only in GSM and I think it's because of the firmware from Europe and I want to use it in Asia. I am planning to use SM-N910C firmware. Will it brick the device?
Because I have searched for threads flashing their device into different model number, just making sure nothing bad will happen.
Thank you

Yes it will brick for sure. You can only flash firmware for N910F. You can flash firmware for a different region... like Asia region but it must be the same model

Do you have any idea on where can i find note 4 n910f international firmware? I have tried a lot of firmware but it doesn't seem to be the international firmware

What region are you in? What region firmware would you like on your device?

I'm from the Philippines so I think it should be DX

You can use any EU firmware, branded or unbranded, interchangeably on an EU device. The only thing you may run in to is 4G not being white listed for your provider, or a Size error in ODIN.
Yes. TNL is T-Mobile Netherlands. It's PHN (Dutch Unbranded) with a few apps and logo's. However, if you try flashing it over the Polish version, you'll get a Size error and will need a PITfile.

Yes. TNL is T-Mobile Netherlands, which is a modified version of PHN, Dutch Unbranded. It's not T-Mobile USA.
Thanx for the responses guys.

So, just to clarify, I would be able to flash the N9005 TNL firmware over an N9005 XSI firmware?
And if I did flash the N9005XXUGBOD6_N9005TNLGBOD1_TNL firmware, would I be able to go back to the original N9005XXUGNJ2_N9005OJVGNH2_XSI firmware?

I said EU firmware on an EU device. I know Europe's starting to resemble the Middle East more and more every day, but last I checked the United Arab Emirates wasn't a part of Europe.
It might be possible, but I can't say for sure.

In general, no. You can't downgrade.
It can be done, but there's a lot more involved than just flashing back old firmware.

Yes it is possible. For example, your CSC code is XSG so you must download SM-G935F FIRMWARE for your device.
Better search threads here on Q and A FW means Firmware.

Hi, Did it work for you flashing "F" variant ROM's into your "FD" device?
Thanks,

Which firmware should I flash?

I have a samsung galaxy s4 gt-i9500 and I am on custom rom MIUI7. I have a question. I want to downgrade to 4.3. In the app PHONE INFO (SAMSUNG) which is for samsung phones only, it is showing me VIETNAM as Country of origin. While I have downloaded the firmware where the name of country INDIA is written as origin. If I flash that firmware, would my device brick or would it cause any kind of problems? Does the country of origin matters while flashing firmwares?
Kindly read the whole OP before answering.[emoji4]

Nahh, don't wanna read the entire OP before answering.
In all seriousness, Vietnam is always the country of origin as that is where the phone was manufactured. I say that because in Phone Info on my S4 it always reported Vietnam as the country of origin, however my S4 was a UK model intended for the O2 network. So country of origin doesn't matter when it comes to flashing firmware. What does matter is that the firmware you install on the device matches the country you are located in, if possible. For example, just now an Indian user mentioned flashing Turkish firmware on his Indian S4 and wondered how to fix his phone so he could get updates. The solution for him was to flash Indian firmware, because with the Turkish firmware installed the S4 becomes "tied" to the Turkish region and expects to be in Turkey to get updates.
Flashing Indian firmware won't brick your device. However, Odin my reject the attempt to install the firmware, depending on whether or not your bootloader was updated to support Knox.

I have GT-i9500 also said made in Vietnam. When I received the phone it was on Thailand firmware. I live in US and I am on AT&T network. When LP came out I flashed Russian firmware, Germany firmware, etc.. Check your bootloader info. That is more important. If you bootloader is 4.2 and want to go to 4.3, it won't be a problem. Downgrading the bootloader could trip the knox counter or could brick the phone.

Yes and no. Some countries have multiple firmwares due to carrier modifications. Some countries have no firmware at all as the phone was never released in that country.

sm-g900f
ok, you should be able to flash any G900F tar.md5 file from any country on it. You have the international verison of that phone and it has TONS of tar.md5's for it that will all work just fine. only signal difference you will notice is in the different radios that are in the different tarballs, other than that, they should all work the same

flashing: from SM-G950U to SM-G950F

Hey there,
I have SM-G950U (which is for US market) and now I'm living in Europe, can I reinstall firmware to one from my current region even if it is for SM-G950F model?
SM-G950U ---> SM-G950F
Thanks.

I don't think it will work, flashing a European firmware has boot loader included, European boot loader not compatible with US model

Yeah... I thought so. I'm asking cuz apparently I cannot obtain and use LTE+ in Europe even though it has the same frequencies. Now it says LTE which is around 11 mbps...

You might be able to flash only the CSC as they dont contain system binaries just config files but I have no idea if it will work or now so be prepared to restore from soft brick id you try
I have a G950F.
Does anybody know if I can just flash the CSC from the G950U (ATT) firmware to my G950F International phone?
I know you can't flash the full firmware as the G950F has the Exynos processor and the G950U is made for the Snapdragon.
But is it safe to just flash the CSC file only as I want to fully use Samsung Pay, wifi calling, VoLTE, etc?
I'm using the Australia firmware (XSA) for my G950F.
