I don't think you can fast charge a Nexus 6P when connecting it to a computer USB port, if that's what you're trying. Needs to be connected to wall outlet or car cigarette lighter to fast charge.

No this is to plug into the mains at home. This is just the cable. I have a orzly USB C to A cable that fast charges it with my main charger but this cable doesn't fast charge.

You should contact the manufacturer through Amazon and see what they have to say or just return the cable. The description says it's compatible with the 6P but not specifically that its compatible with fast charging on the 6P. It might be worded that way intentionally.
The seller said it's my plug and not the cable but my plug works with an orzly cable

There are many similar discussions around chargers and cables in the Accessories sub-forum. Basically USBA to USBC cables are not supposed to rapid charge because they are supposed max out at 2.4A. If they do rapid charge (5V/3.0A), they lack the proper resistor and so are not compliant with the USBC standard. You can Google Benson Leung to learn more, but head over to the Accessories forum and look/post there. You may also request a Mod to move this post where you may get more answers to your original question.

It's interesting how my old microusb cable slow charges the phone.
Are there different microusb cables with different amp charge?

I saw someone mention that there's a pin removed and that's the detection method but I just don't buy it. I am using a standard, off-the-shelf MicroUSB cable plugged into my Nexus7 charger (2a) and it doesn't complain about slow charging at all. I'm not sure if this is anecdotal or not, but I have confirmed that a stock Micro cable + 2a charger will do fast charge.
Guys I broke my local 2amp charger.
Plase sugget a 2amp charger (2.1 will do too I think) and a USB cable (fast) which can handle a little rough handling! Length atleast 1-1.5m
I use Samsung adapter... It's quite durable
For the cable I use a extension cable with the USB cable 2.5 meters

I use the OnePlus charger along with the OnePlus cable, for an alternative, try Rock data cables as the OnePlus cables are pretty pricey.
Anyone know where I can get the new type C cable as it is suppose to charge the OP2 faster? Is it the one on their official OnePlus website?
What do you mean? The OP2 has always used the type C USB cable.
But OP2 doesn't support quick charge and i heard the new cable makes it charger quicker
Never heard of any value that improves charging speeds but you could get adapters (micro usb to usb 3) if you have a better charging adapter. The idea is to supply the battery with more current (not voltage) than what it requires. I wonder if that's one of the reasons why op3 has a 4A charger.

OK. Call me crazy cuz I understand that this device does not have the hardware to support fast charging BUT:
I just bought a oneplus 2 from Amazon and I thought that the wall charger's input would also be type c and since I don't have a laptop with a USB type c jack, I figured I should buy a USB type c to type a adapter. So, when I got the device I was surprised to see that the charging cable the device comes with IS type c on one end and type a on the other. This means I never needed the adapter cable to plug the device into my laptop. I had already ordered it tho so I figured I'd take one of my many other wall chargers and use the adapter cable with it to have a second charger at work. Today I plugged the device into that adapter cable AND I used Samsung's quick charger wall charger (the one that cane with an s7 I owned) and I swear that the device charged MUCH faster. It went from 38% to 94% in about 40 min. To me, it seemed faster than the oneplus charger. Could just be in my head but if it was, it was crazy. Here is the adapter cable I ordered from amazon. If you wanna experiment, the cable is only $6. Try it with Samsung's quick charger and see:

Only if compared to a broken/defective cable normal charging time must be near two hours

Just encountered slow charging problem, my phone charges about 9 hrs from 20% and just getting 75%, I checked at Ampere app, the input is just around 50-100mA+, I suspect the cable since my wall charger did charges perfectly with another device, or, buy a cheap alternative like xiaomi's type-c adapter, which costs more cheaply then buying the OP cable, which one should I pick? OP cable? or Xiaomi's type-c adapter?
Same here

I have same problem, 1-20% is also very slow here, ampere shows 33-350mA
I've been using the mivi type C cable and the charging speeds are great.
I bought a second hand Nexus 6p last week, without a charger. I ordered a charger and cable from amazon uk:
The charger: USB Type-C Charger, Tronsmart 27W Dual Port USB C Wall Charger for Nexus 5X/6P, S7, HTC 10, LG G5 and Other USB-C Phones and iPhone Android Device £13.55 ($17)
Cable: 'USB Type C Cable, CableCreation Super Speed Gen 2 (10Gbps) USB 3.1 Type C Male to Male Cable' which cost £11.99 ($15).
I could only get normal charging, no fast/rapid, so I ordered replacements of both as amazon prime allows free returns.
I ordered a iKits (CE/FCC Verified) 5V3A Type-C AC USB Wall Charger/Travel Charge, USB-C 15W for Macbook, Google Chromebook Pixel, Google Nexus 5X 6P & etc. Universal US AU UK EU Plug Adapter included Black, £10.99 ($14)
USB Type C Cable, CHOETECH Hi-speed USB-C to USB-C Cable 3.3ft(1m) for USB Type-C Devices Including LG G5, the new MacBook, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P. £4.99 ($6)
I tested with the original Tronsmart charger, but the new cable, the Choetech and wow, rapid/fast charging! The cable was half the price of my original choice, yet allows for greater charging speeds. I have today sent the Cable Creation cable back.
I will test the iKits charger tonight.
I find it helpful to have two chargers, especially since nothing else in my house uses USB C, and if one got stolen at work, I like to have a backup. I will keep you guys posted on the iKits.
I hope this helps anyone who needs a replacement charger for their 6P
NB: I am not sponsored, or paid, etc.. I struggled to find info on this myself and figured I can't be the only one.
update:
Both the Tronsmart and iKits charger fast/rapid charge my nexus. I returned the cable and got a cheap Tronsmart USB C cable and it works as well for fast/rapid charging.
So I now have two different brands, in my opinion affordable too, chargers and two different cheap USB C cables that all support fast charging. Very pleased.
Hope this helps!
thank you for the information, i was looking for alternative charger also.
As long as you stick with the better 3rf party stuff you will be OK. I am personally not a fan of Tronsmart, but Anker has yet to let me down.
