Working CyanogenMod for Samsung J500FN - Samsung Galaxy J5 Questions & Answers

Hello,
I want to flash a CyanogenMod ROM on my Samsung J500FN. However, I tried several ones, the result usually is "KERNEL IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING", then the screen gradually turns green, with black lines appearing. My phone is running Android M (6.0.1). Could anyone point me to a working ROM or explain why does the screen turns green on boot whenever I try flashing a ROM?

Hello!
If you talk about cm13, then you need to be on Lollipop 5.1.1 to flash CM 13. It is mentioned in its thread at first post. On future releases, this will be changed and you will have to be on Marshmallow 6.0.1.

Yeah, my stock ROM is Marshmallow. Is it possible to downgrade to Lollipop or is there another workaround possible?

Flash stock rom 5.1.1 to downgrade. I recommend Samfirm to download stock firmwares much faster.

G900A Stuck on samsung logo then black screen D:

Hello everyone, I have a SM-G900A (Samsung Galaxy S5 ATT Model) Ok so it had 4.4.4 version of android on it. I wanted to put 4.4.2 on it so I could use towel root to root it. So I opened up Odin got the stock firmware from sammobile and tried flashing it, gave me a revision check error, so after doing some research downloaded the stock from here and put it in odin. Ok so from then I added the ap, csc, and cp. Odin looks like its installing right. So now when the phone starts it looks like its doing an update. So after that finishes it starts the samsung logo but freezes and goes to a black screen with the blue notification led pulsing, any ideas? I've tried looking stuff up and still no avail D:

I have the exact same issue from trying to downgrade the firmware to 4.4.2 and my screen is blank with the blue LED light on. I've flashed at least a dozen times and reset factory settings and wiped cache partition with no improvement. If anybody can provide a solution, it would be much appreciated!

I had the same issue. I reflashed the 4.4.4 OA1 kernel and was able to boot the phone back up. Still can not update device. Currently stuck on:
System Status: Official
Current Binary: Official
Knox Warranty Void: 0X0
Android version 4.4.2,
Baseband version G900AUCU1ANCE,
Build number KOT49H.G900AUCU1ANCE,
Kernel version 3.4.0-3116194,
SE for Android status Enforcing SEPF_SAMSUNG-SM-G900A_4.4.4_0033
At least I got the phone working again. FYI I had a similar issue in the past, went to best buy with an att note 3 and told them every time I try to ota update my phone it fails. And they re flashed my phone with no questions asked and I was able to ota update after that. I haven't got a chance to go to best buy yet but hopefully they can re flash my s5 like my other device and I can get the ota update.

I think I had the same problem as you and used the 4.4.4 OA1 Kernal to get it working again. Next I flashed the G900A_Downgrade_to_NCE.tar.md5 and am working and se the last line as 4.4.2 where you have 4.4.4 . I'm guessing you have a mix of 4.4.2 and 4.4.4.

I'm having this same black screen/blue led problem too after I tried to flash back to the stock NCE 4.4.2 from a rooted 5.0 on a g900a. Where did you get the file for the 4.4.4 OA1 kernel? or should I try flashing back to 5.0? I have no idea where to go next at this point. I'm afraid I need to bring my phone to a specialist...

Cannot install any Custom ROMs after root sm-N910f

Hi all, this is my first ever post so please bear with me!
I have a Note 4 sm-910f. I rooted recently and have the latest TWRP installed. I have tried to install a number of ROMs but:
If I install AOSP based I get a "Failed" error and a note to say that the ROM is not the correct one for the device - it seems to get my device wrong too?!
If I install a Touchwiz ROM such as NoteX it appears to flash OK but it just keeps bootlooping upon restart.
Any ideas? Could it be anything to do with the modem or bootloader? I'm currently on stock 5.0.1.
Any help greatly appreciated!
Cheers

Hi, thanks for the quick response.
I did mean X-note. I have tried a number of other ROMs too, Aliance - Emotion Revolution.
Right now I tried flashing a new bootloader/modem as per this ROM "http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/rom-robomix-t3069298" but now I'm stuck in a complete bootloop!!
I think I need to get the correct bootloader and/or modem - I just don't have a clue why or what is what. I an't find any guides!

Secure Download = Enabled

Hi
I have a 910C whic is running 5.1.1 wanam 3.2 and Telexop kernel...
Recently i boot in to the download mode and see a text in blue which is telling secure download = enabled and restrict me in flashing (Only recovery[tested twrp only] and current stock 5.1.1 not even initial release of 5.1.1 (exactly current or newer i guess)...
I tried to install 5.0.1 and 4.4.4 stock but no chance ( in the beggining of flashing ,unfortunately, turns red and FAILD...)
It needs to add i used flashify and flash any 5.1.1 bootloader from oh4 to latest oj5 and also tried all existing kernels for 5.1.1 (talexop-halaszk-adam-googymax-spaceX) but nothing changed...
My Questions...
SO can i downgrad to kitkat from 5.1.1 and what is this secure download means and why this happening and how to get rid of it...
One more=is there anyway to remove "recovery is not seandroid enforcing(and kernel)" this messages started from 5.1.1 i know its not a problem but i dont like them but i think this happend bcz samsung changes something in kernel of 5.1.1(devs knows better)???
Tnx for Your Help

I noticed this problem too because
The ****ing company samsuck Locked the last bootloader Coj5 and now downgrade is impossible because it ****ing locked kernel is not seandroid enforcing because you have root and new 5.1.1 bootloader make that
Only to downgrade may if Samsung unlocked new Android mm bootloader we can downgrade
Now you can only wait and watch untill it releases
But I love kitkat because it sot better than lollipop and xposed fully working without lags or bug or bootloop etc and all games hack only supports kitkat :crying:
**** you Samsung no more Sammy devices after that ****ing thing
Cheers
Galaxy note 4 sm-n910c exynos
same like me, but now only cm13 unofficial work for my device,.i cant find any rom that will work on my device

After 6.0.1 update, cant flash any customs roms at all. Only stock works.

Hi,
Wonder if anyone has come across this issue before. While Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F) BTU was on Lollipop, I could flash what ever custom roms I wanted. However since updating to MarshMallow 6.0.1, any custom rom I install results in constant resets on boot.
So instead of boot looping its reset looping. I can see for some reason it will not create Cache / Dalvik Cache mounts, maybe that has something to do with it, I dont know. I know I have spent hours trying to work out issue.
because of bootloader/cp. you have to flash lollipop ones if you want to intall any branch of cm. cm13 will work with MM bl/cp eventually
