I was trying to flash a new rom, when I went to recovery and I was wiping everything... I wiped cache, dalvik, data and when I was wiping system it rebooted and all it does now is bootloop to twrp... I mean it stays on the twrp screen, the very first screen on twrp before it gets to menus, and restarts into recovery again and freezes and restarts again... and again... I was able to get to the download mode.. I think the problem is with twrp, should I flash new twrp from there or what do u all suggest... help please

If you're wiping the system, what you're really doing is removing android, and the bootloader, if im not wrong. Did you wipe data, cache, dalvik, system and then flash the rom? Or how was the order. If it was as I said there should be no problem, try reflashing the rom.

Flash a new TWRP from the Bootloader, reboot into TWRP, sideload a ROM. You DID erase /system, like he was trying to tell you, in all likelihood. Doing so erases the entire Android OS.

Turn it COMPLETELY off. Hold vol up/down (BOTH), and power until it shows a "Restart"/"Restart BootLoader"/etc. That's where you can fastboot flash TWRP

Something happened to the recovery that I can not figure out.. but after a couple of tries, flashing recovery thru fastboot, its working now.... and I still dont think its coz I wiped system.... I have qlways done that.... even when I update the same custon rom to a new update, I always wipe cache, dalvik, and system.... but no data and ofcourse wipe all when flashing a new rom.... when recovery worked I wiped system again and flashed a new rom and did that a couple of times... nothing wrong anymore.... so im sure u can wipe system before flashing a new rom....

I normally wipe /System anytime I switch ROM's, too, but TWRP has done some funny things lately, and if you wiped it accidentally AFTER installing the ROM, or didn't quite install one just after, that may have done the trick
Hi ,
I flashed my i9500 to MG5 , and now I'm unable to wipe cache partition from Stock Samsung recovery .
When i first get into recovery it says no command . Then displays the menu . Then on selecting wipe cache partition , it says erasing first and then says Error .
What to do ? Is anyone else facing the same problem ?

It happens when you do OTA updates for me too its happening again and again.
If you want it to be working again, download the latest firmware from sammobile (I know its slow, I don't know any alternatives link), flash it using odin, your problem will be solved!!!
After that never ever factory reset phone from setting menu always do it from the recovery if you need to do.
Hope this helps! :silly:
So I flashed fahadali's s5 port and now my gps doesn't work on any other stock ROM except for other s5 ports.
I wiped system and data from recovery like 5 times in a row, didn't work. I installed philz recovery to manually erase system and data partition (so the phone didn't have any ROM installed) and I flashed nd5 stock ROM, still didn't work. I installed "FasterGPS" from play store to change the gps conf.file according to my region, didn't fix it. I am rly left out of options here, my last one being Samsung service, but I'm kinda worried not losing warranty because they might find out that it's just a software issue and assume I rooted the device and messed it up.

go to recovery
full wipe ..
if yo are using philz then do a new rom wipe which also wipes system partition
reboot to download mode and odin flash stock samsung note 3 rom ( do it twice to make it 200% sure ..lol)
that fixed the gps for me
Maybe http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53128884&postcount=999this can help?

yes.. i think there is a difference..
odin does a clean factory reset/recovery of the phone if something goes wrong .. try it .. it should fix it.
also download gps status and reset your agps .. ther is an option in that app and download new data

Same issue here. Have tried all steps people are sharing but still no joy.
I even ran a factory data reset from stock recovery and then reflashed odin but GPS will not work.
Anybody know a sure fire way of getting this to work.
Thanks

I finally managed to get gps working by following the instruction from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2778605
I used cwm recovery though because philz didn't show up 'format firmware' and 'firmware-modem'.
The simplest method to get GPS working is to flash your desired ROM straight over the s5port with GPS turned on without wiping anything. When u restart you will have lots of force closes. Just go to recovery and wipe data and cache and reboot. GPS will work.

A few days ago my USB port on my Telus SGH-I337m gave out, leaving me with no data connectivity and extremely limited charging capabilities.
I rooted the phone using ODIN and TWRP when I originally got it last summer, but i forgot all about that and brought it over to best buy for an exchange. We did a factory reset before the guy noticed it was rooted and told me to un root and come back. However, after the factory reset, I'm now stuck on the samsung galaxy s4 splash logo, but I do still have access to recovery booting. I've tried downloading stock and custom roms and flashing those to no avail. I switched my recovery manager from TWRP 2.5.0.0 to CWM 6.0.4.4, but still nothing. ODIN flashing is impossible because the USB port isn't working. Any suggestions?

You said you flashed cwm over twrp, if you did so you must be able to flash a rom too.
The bright side, if it's not booting you could take it to a best buy and they couldn't tell it's rooted
Edit, when you boot into recovery is it the stock recovery now, or cwm?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
Any custom roms I've tried to flash have still left me stuck at the splash logo. Any chance you could point me to a stock ROM download? None of the stock roms i've found will install. And since it does still boot into recovery mode the guys at bestbuy will still know i have it rooted though right? worst case i might just drain the battery and bring it in since it takes about 20 mins to charge 1%.
edit: it recovery boots into CWM 6.0.4.4 only, hangs on normal startup with any rom

If it boots into a custom recovery, twrp or cwm, yes they're going to know you modified the device. But you're not going to be able to get rid of that without Odin.

If I'm able to fix the boot error, would I be able to use mobile odin or super SU to unroot it?
Either way any other suggestions for getting past the splash screen?
What I've tried exactly is:
-boot into CWM recovery
-wipe data/factory reset
-wipe cache partition
-wipe dalvik cache
-install ROM from zip
-reboot
custom ROMS install ok but give me the boot error
stock roms don't install at all
And thanks for the help i do appreciate it

I'm not sure what to tell you. First, you're flashing the custom roms correctly and I'm not sure why they're not booting. I don't know what stock rom you're trying to flash.
Having the custom recovery is going to kill you at best buy. They'll try to boot into recovery to do a factory reset and they'll see you modified the device.
I don't know if mobile Odin works on the s4, I don't think so, but you'd have to boot into something first. And that's a problem right now.

I managed to get past the splash logo. Turn out i needed to format all the partitions as well as clear them before installing a rom.
The stock roms i was (mistakenly) trying were the odin tar.md5 files. But now I've got mobile odin running and I found a couple videos with mobile odin and the gs4 so im going to give it a shot. The procedure recommends >50% battery though so I'm going to have to let it charge overnight.
We'll see if it works in the morning
Reflash lastest 4.4.2 (Colombia) Firmware from Sammobile, Tick "NAND Erase All", "Re-partition" & "Phone EFS Clear", also put the unziped attached file on the PIT section.
This will completely wipe your NAND, this means a complete Full wipe of the whole phone, I also have a i337M from Telus & deleted all the remains of previus modifications that normal recoveries can't wipe. thus reformatting Boot, Cache, System, EFS & all other partitions to their correct state.
Make sure your Odin window looks as the attached image.
It will stuck at samsung logo after flashing, boot to recovery & perform a factory reset, and you are good to go.
King regards.

Any errors in recovery when you make full wipe?
If you have a "emmc"error ... the flash of the phone is ruined and the is no software solution for this just hardware
If the are no errors try to flash the bootloader or root the phone (it will voids your warranty)and try to flash a custom rom
If the phone is not rooted and still have warranty .. send it to cusomer service centre..it will replace the mother board

Download SM-N910C_WanamLite.OH4_BL_Modem.tar.md5.zip and SM-N910C_WanamLite.XXU1COH4.V3.0.NO-WIPE.zip from here
Put SM-N910C_WanamLite.XXU1COH4.V3.0.NO-WIPE.zip in your external sdcard
Reboot the phone in recovery mode. From TWRP go to Wipe/AdvancedWipe/ and tick DalickCache, System, Data, Internal Storage, Cache and "Swipe to Wipe".
Always from TWRP go back to the first page, hit "Install", search for SM-N910C_WanamLite.XXU1COH4.V3.0.NO-WIPE.zip in /external_sd and install it, after Wipe Dalvick and Cache.
Reboot in Download mode
In your PC launch ODIN and put SM-N910C_WanamLite.OH4_BL_Modem.tar.md5.zip in the AP button (untick autoreboot)
Connect the phone (in Download mode) to the PC via USB cable
Let it be recognized by ODIN and hit the start button.
Once successful flash, disconnect the phone from the PC, take out the battery, put it back in and turn on the phone.
It should solve your bootloops

F*** sake. I'm sorry about that.
Download the right version of TWRP and flash it via ODIN (link) and try again all the steps.
EDIT:
Which version of ODIN are you using? Try to use the latest.
